CSAA Insurance Co. Restoration of kitchen floor resulting into property damage

My home had water damage and hence mold remediation was performed from May 3 to about June 22nd. Of course, CSAA struggled to accept to cover the repair but finally agreed. 4months later (October)the repairs(restoration of the floors and carpet) were not done. Because the previous contractor left the floor open, the house was vulnerable and infested by rodents. We noticed rat droppings and urination on the furniture, beddings and carpets. Stored foods were eaten and a lot of other boxes and packages destroyed and wet due to their droppings. When I called CSAA they informed the contractor Zebra who hurried in within 48 hours moved all the furniture into a POD and went ahead to seal the openings in the floor as well as the crawl space…that just had a plastic over it. The whole time CSAA was asking mw the status of the repairs even though I complained that the repairs were taking too long and hotel stay was being such an inconvenience. Efforts to move us into a house or apartment were not successful, however CSAA was willing to continue paying the $4300 per month for the 1 room hotel.( I wondered why till I found out later that CSAA has loyalties and benefits with the hotels). I complained several times and requested that CSAA sanitize my home before I moved in…that in itself seems till now to be a struggle and they have had to send inspectors to make sure my claims are accurate…I don’t understand why health and safety of a family is not important to CSAA, they are more concerned about paying vendors and hotels huge sums of money. For the longest time I had respect for CSAA and insurance companies but this experience is the worst and has changed my perception of CSAA.

As now we have our property in the garage, had to live a t a friend’s house a couple days while we had some people do basic cleaning of the home. The bedrooms smell of rat urine and the carpet is obviously stained. Oh yes and the contractor Zebra ripped off CSAA a hefty $200 for cleaning which was openly for the outside cabinets and the floor which they installed.

My complaint is that
1. CSAA did not hold the contractor accountable for keeping to schedule
2. CSAA failed to evaluate the performance of Zebra hence their work resulted into damage of my property, by rat infestation;
3. CSAA does not really care for its customers…To make clients almost homeless and make us move into a house that is not complete – a pure hazard for children and a health and safety risk to human life.? Not cleaned to human standard?...
4. CSAA only care for their interests and royalties and businesses they get through hotels and contractors.
5. CSAA adjusters either are not necessary or need more authority and training to be able to keep projects on schedule.
6. As now I don’t have the funds to pay to the sanitization and cleaning of the house from rodents droppings and whatever chemicals were used in the house…But CSAA has been quiet on this issue.

I am extremely dissatisfied with CSAA..I never knew that a large corporation such as this can be so negligent and slow in handling customer concerns...

All I need is a home that is habitable and comfortable, because when I moved into the house it was habitable. I pay CSAA for services and I have every right to request that those services are done and complete.

CSAA Insurance Co. Homeowners insurance coverage

I am an elderly man who is in hospice care and on oxygen with COPD. I recently had a leak under my kitchen sink . I contacted a local company here in AZ to fix the leak, (Copper State Homebuilders). One the guy came and looked at the problem, he informed me that there was mold and he also found asbestos under the sink. We called my homeowners insurance company, CSAA through AAA and Jose Marin from Copper State spoke to the gentleman from CSAA and they told Mr. Marin to proceed with the cleanup that they would cover the charges. Mr. Marin did demolish my kitchen and did the cleanup. Once the work was done I spoke to my insurance company again and they refused to pay Copper State Homebuilders for their work. They told me that this was a slow leak and that this was not covered under my policy. I have a reverse mortgage and the insurance agent told me if I stop paying my premiums he would notify my mortgage company and also not to try and sue as I would not win. I have very few funds and having been living with my kitchen torn up, which you can see by the attached pictures. Please help me get this $5000 plus invoice paid by CSAA insurance as they agreed to do.
