Cupid Media Pty is the parent company of many scam "dating" sites filled with fake profiles created by the company itself, with shady ToS and practices. Late one night I created an account on one of their sites, filled my profile with the basic questionnaire they were asking (age, weight, height, education, etc), upload a picture showing only my head/face...

Cupid Media Pty Ltd Product/Service

l have enrolled for Japancupid on 7th January. l had a terrible experience with fake profiles that even lead an identity theft:( One fake profile, approached me as real person and we exchanged photos of daily lifem I have couple days after figured out when he sent me a face scam video. The he disappeared. Now l am afraid that he will create another fake profile by using my pictures! Unfortunately, l have trusted the company and enrolled for a one month membership. Although l have raised my inconvenience and would like to cancel my membership immediately and take a refund of rest of the month at least. They were not helpful at all. They only care about the income not a customer service/support. I am terrified with all these happened.

Desired outcome: Cancellation of membership and refund rest of unused period

Cupid Media Pty Ltd thaicupid.com, filipinacuoid.com, koreancupid.com

These organizations are headquartered in Queensland Australia. This website is a real scam and just a waste of time. I joined this website and created a profile. I spent about 1.5 hours just to set up my profile. After that I logged out to wait for my profile and photos to be approved. I get approved and then I'm inundated with emails. 90% of the "interests" and/or "sent messages" clearly did not read my profile PERIOD. I start reviewing see a few women on each sight that I might want to converse with and see where it go. Then I get non-stop messages suggesting I upgrade to Gold or Platinum membership for a few $ hundred to Several $hundred. I don't bite. I tried to log into ThaiCupid, and suddenly I was notified that my account was suspended/ terminated and could not be reactivated unless I send a copy of Passport, Drivers License or other Government Documents (Social security card etc.) and/or call them at +61 7 5571 1181. Few hours later, KoreanCupid.com and FilipinaCupid.com pull the same stunt with an identical message and phone number. After several messages, and being patient, I have still heard nothing. It's obvious they don't care about their customers.

Furthermore, the US State Department and FBI is very clear - do not give copies of your Passport, Drivers License and/or Social Security Card to anyone, other than government officials.

Frankly, these guys should be blocked from accessing US IP addresses. I'm actually glad I will not able to continue using their sites again.

In order to prevent fraudulent payments on our websites, our billing department reviews certain transactions. For some transactions, we require additional verification to prove that the person making the transaction is authorized to do so. Cupid Media Pty Ltd Renewal problem

Incident Number:[[8446381]].
After having a long break from the cupidmedia sites, I decided it was high time to renew my membership. My internet was giving me problems this day and i had to refresh my IE browser several times this day. Unfortunately, as I found out later on the last lag the membership remained the default 3 month platinum one, not the 1 month which I wanted. Contacted the InternationalCupid customer support immediately regarding a possible partial refund. What i got as a response however was just an advice to be more careful and a generic copy/paste response from their refund rules. Not anything even remotely connected to a solution, just a robotic reply.
And I checked the said rules before i contacted support. The current refund rules are that a full refund can be issued under the following circumstances:
* The members account is experiencing technical problems which cannot be fixed.
* Our site has been unavailable for an unacceptable time period, or has been experiencing technical problems which have impaired a members ability to use his or her membership
* The member requests a refund prior to initiating or receiving contact
with any members
The third one is kept my account still. After having my card charged I havent contacted anyone in any way on the site. I even hid my profile, not to be visible to the others. And that can be easily checked by the support.
When i demanded a second, more personalised, reply at least explaining if they can help me fix the problem...I got none so far, 26 hours later. And this isnt my first time on these sites, im not a new customer. Even if im issued a full refund, you can be sure ill continue using your services. I've already paid your membership fees numerous times in the past. That can be checked also. And my opinion of the overall service was a superb one until now. Yet now Im not so sure...since i cannot get a simple refund, partial or otherwise...and this even when the rules for that are met. I didnt expected this kind of disregard from the CupidMedia support.
