Booked a "HOT DEAL" which is setup as non refundable. Car rental deal was not too good anyway but looking 2 weeks later I find the exact same deal on their website for $50. less. But your HOT DEAL is non subject to changes.
They will not answer calls on these types of issues.
Customer loyalty is subject to changes. Good by to Hot Wire. Never ever again.
Original order booked November 1, 2017
Paid in full on November 1, 2017
Found same deal on their website for $50 less on November 17, 2017.
Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth
possible bed bugs in a hotel
I have been using Hotwire for 3 years and have been upgraded to an "express customer", meaning a good customer. I booked a hotel in Boston through Hotwire months in advance (booked in march for Aug). A patient of mine recently went to Boston and told me to check the bed bug registry to make sure there were no recent reports of bed bugs in the Boston Sheraton hotel. I did a very basic google search and it came up on the first page (the most recent report being July 26/11). I called hotwire and requested to move hotels because I did not want to take the risk. They kept me on hold for an hour before I could speak with a supervisor, and decided that the "word of the hotel" was good enough that their were not any bed bugs. They refused to change my hotel and are forcing me to stay in a hotel that I do not wish to stay in for legitimate health issues.
I have invested over 4000$ for a professional course that I can not cancel.
I would like to encourage Hotwire to change their policy when it comes to customers health.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had to cancel on a car rental with Hot Wire due to change in flights.
I purchased trip insurance that was offered by Hot Wire trip insurance agent.
The next flight offered was beyond the reason for my trip a funeral.
The airline Continental refunded the ticket and Access America, Jeff HymanVice President of Travel Operations was very understanding and refunded the charge.
I had even got the car rental company Budget, Ms White at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) pulled the rental.
When I had contacted Hot Wire with everyone involved assisting me and agreeing to accommodate me PLUS Budget canceling the reservation of which Hot Wire said they would help me if Budget agreed to cancel the rental.
Well I was told by Hot Wire even though Budget did cancel the contract, but they were not able to refund since Hot Wire were the booking agent and it was their account that the money would come from.
This seems very unfair and would advise anyone in making reservations stay VERY far away from HOT WIRE...they are only interested in making money ANY WAY THEY CAN.
Once they have your money you will NEVER be able to see it again NO matter what happens with your travel plans.
All you will be able to get from them (HOT WIRE) is they are handlers and any problems you could have it is up to you talk to the company that offers your flight, accommodations or rental.
Book a hotel thru Hot Wire, remember you don't get the name of the hotel until after you've paid. Well after paying and receiving the name of the hotel I looked into this hotels reviews only to find out they weren't that good...ants crawling on the walls, bathroom door to close to toilet so you can't close the door, etc. I called Hot Wire within minutes requesting to be changed to another hotel or allowing me to pay xtra money for a better hotel...I wasn't asking for my money back...I was told that couldn't be done, when asked to speak to a supervior I was told one would call me back the next day...well the next day to them is three days later...received a call today from the rudest individual I have ever dealt with...I quess we all need to apply at Hot Wire if we don't care how we speak or treat customers...this person also told me my requeswt couldn't be met and to call them when I got to the hotel if I found ants crawling on the walls. I explained how I wasn't requesting my money back just the opportunity to stay at a hotel that didn't have ants...again told NO!
So when doing business with Hot Wire, I say use caution...you don't know what you're getting until after you've paid for it...and basically told "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT TO BAD" when inquering about it!
Tried to add a day to a previously made car rental booked with Alamo through Hot Wire. Got the run-around from both companies- I made 5 phone calls total to try to work this out. Neither company would allow me to simply add a day to the rental. Hotwire option given was to cancel the multi-day reservation (no refund, of course) and rebook with them using the new dates, or rent a car for one day and return it to pick up spot then pick up the second car (initial multi-day reservation) at the same spot. Since we would be 350 miles away from return/pickup site when second car would be picked up, not feasible. Bottom line is there was no way to add a day (more booking/rental money for them, right?), so lost my $ for multi-day rental and booked directly with a car rental agency. Will never deal with either Alamo or Hotwire again and will tell everyone I know not to use this booking service. This company will be losing many customers and much money due to their UNBENDING POLICIES and the HORRIBLE REPUTATION that they are building for the company!
Avoid Hotwire.
Hotwire is very misleading on hotel reservations. Star ratings are based on customer reviews.
I requested a 3 star hotel and was given a hotel that is lacking amenites and rated a 2 star on other sites.
When I called to complain and was repeatedly told that all reservations are final . Customer service is non existance and reservation was only a 8.00 saving off the price the hotel was offering.
I will never use them again and highly suggest avoiding Hotwire.com
I booked a trip and cancelled less than 24 hours later and was advised that although it was not their policy, they would allow my request for cancellation. They have $684.00 of my money and refuse to refund or issue a credit. They simply want to keep my money. I would strongly suggest that you don't book with these cheats.
I would strongly suggest that you do not book reservations that state you can not cancel. But if they told you they would refund you and they didnt then yes this is not acceptable.
