brakes replacement
Had front and back brakes replaced in December 2016. On the way home the brakes failed and I ended up in the middle of an intersection. Took it back they couldn't find a problem. Shortly after they started with a scraping noise. Took it back and they say it now needs rotors. I had only driven less than 500 miles and the rotors didn't need to be change 500 miles ago? That is shoddy work. I got 3 estimates the other 2 included rotors. When I got this estimate I assumed it included rotors. Very disappointed. I think compensation for wasted time and poor service is warrented.
Date is wrong in original complaint it should be 2017
Scam
On April 8, 2010 I purchased four new tires for $421 with a 50, 000 mile warranty from Kauffman Tire for my son's car. I also paid $5 for a Full Replacement Certificate; in the event we had ANY problem with a tire Kauffman would replace the tire without additional cost. At the time of purchase I was informed the car required an additional $800 of front-end work. Since we already had a long-standing relationship with another local mechanic, we only purchased the tires and replacement certificate. On April 12, 2010 I paid $1, 290 to replace front tire rods, front axle, struts, CV axle, brakes, and an alignment with our mechanic.
Two months after purchasing the tires I noticed the front passenger tire kept deflating. My son took his car back to Kauffman and they said his tire rim wore his tire and he needed a new tire. I paid $175 to have my son's rim re-chromed and Kauffman only patched his tire. Now, six months later I noticed his front driver's side tire kept deflating. He returned to Kauffman and they said we had to buy two new tires because the tires wore improperly due to the car needing an alignment. We proved we had an alignment four days after the original tire purchase and then Kauffman said they refused to honor their Replacement Certificate because the tires were driven with low tire pressure.
The tires had less than 6, 000 miles wear and had to be replaced! Kauffman would only agree to replace the tires if I paid an additional $143. We have been to Kauffman at least six times within the past eight months to have our tires repaired and Kauffman either refused to fix the tires because they didnt have time or they kept the car ALL DAY and asked us to pay for new tires within 30 minutes of the stores closing. Kauffman Tire offers poor customer service and their guarantees are not worth the paper they are written on.
I have Bad Credit and was to get a loan through Kauffman Capital Group. I filled out an application online and had been called few times and told I was approved for loan up to $5, 000. I only needed to pay $1.500. I am waiting second month for my refund or loan.
Liars, fraudulent service
I discovered I had a flat tire this week and remember a commercial I saw on TV the night before: Kauffman Tire fixes flats for free. So, I took my car into Kauffman Tire at Barrett Parkway and Dallas Hwy. in Dallas, GA. I went in with my 11 month old daughter in my arms and asked if they indeed fixed flats for free. He said he couldn't understand my question. I thought that was strange as we were the only two in the lobby. I repeated my question the exact same way and he said that his shop did. So he took the keys and checked the odometer, etc. To make a longer story shorter, he came back and told me I needed 4 new tires and that he couldn't fix the flat. Now 2 weeks ago, I had got my tires rotated and was told nothing was wrong with my tires. I knew he was lying. He said my tires we dry rotted and bald. I called my husband and he got them to put a spare on. I took the car to NTB and not only did they fix the flat for free they said my tires were fine were definitely not bald and that I needed an alignment. I assume Kauffman was trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman with an infant and it was raining - like I would think "safety" and just pay for 4 new tires when I came in from a slow leaking tire. Just a heads up. Atleast get a second opinion if the repair isn't urgent. Everybody's out to make a buck despite the cost. Morally bankrupt! Sad but so!
not to be rude. But the Free replacement warranty only covers road hazzards not mechanical wear or damage from fire, accidents, vandalism etc. I work for Kauffman and someone just didnt explain it to you when they sold it to you.
Unjustified service charge
Had service done-total charge; $519.01. Charge & service qualifies for 90 day payment, same as I've done in past. Have made one payment of $119.01, making payment of $200.00 0n 4/10 & will make final payment with next statement. The finance charge should be credited to my account. If not, and because of your action, will stop using Kauffman, closing my account & will so notify them. Hank Freedman
