Bad service
2002 Toyota Corolla 1.8 L engine ordered with credit card payment on Oct 31, 2008 after receiving a phone call from Craig Smith at Rhino Engines and Transmissions, 144 Village Landing #352, Fairport, NY 14450 saying that the engine I had inquired about several weeks ago was available and could ship within a week. I received a copy of my "PAID" invoice # 9712 but no engine as of today Jan 7, 2009. After many telephone calls and voice-mail messages left (spoke with Tim once and Cindy three times receiving shipment dates out a week or so everytime, with the last date promised for Dec 11, 008), current calls to [protected] only reach a recorded busy message.
On advice given in other "complaints" I called both the Monroe County Attorney General and the Monro County Sheriff's Office on Jan 5th but have not heard back from them.
SCAM
I purchased a 1991 rebuilt International diesel engine in August 2008 and never received the engine nor my money back. I spoke weekly to Tim and Cindy and was always promised my money back adfter Tim canceled my order in September due to engine failure. They told me each time I called to verify if my reimbursement check had been sent that it was in "processing" and would be out shortly. Now when you call, the phone loops a recording and no one can be reached or will call you back. The website for Rhino Engines and Transmissions is frozen and I've been taken for $7, 634.00. This business is a scam and unfortunately I fell into it. Buyers take heed to RESEARCH anyone you wish to do business with, DON'T just rely on BBB to help make your decision, surf all avenues open to you and then decide wheither or not to proceed.

No return calls
Ordered a 2.2L chevy engine with a 3 year 100, 000 mile warranty. Engine was delivered and installed, drove for 10, 000 miles and I now have water in the engine oil. I have called them repeatedly and left messages on every extension there and never have had a response. I left my work number, home and even my cell number and no call. They left me without a vehicle in the middle of winter. I believe they should be arrested for fraud and I will do whatever I can to have these folks incarcerated.

has not refunded $1875
i purchased a remanufactured engine for my 1989 old 98 regency back in september for $1875. i was going to send my original engine in to be rebuilt but they said it would take 4-6 weeks and they already had an engine ready to ship so i agreed. 3 weeks went by and still no engine was shipped so i cancelled my order because they misled me to make a sale. i spoke with craig smith and tim cone. i have still not received my money back. i made a complaint with the BBB that they did not respond too, i also made a complaint with the FTC, and i recently submitted a complaint to the attorney generals consumer fraud department. their # is [protected]. i made regular attepts to call them and email them but none were ignored.
i have not made a claim with small claims court yet because if they are in backruptcy then i would just lose more money. i am glad God has a law that you reap what you sow so tim cone i know will get what is coming to him.
They will not refund money
On Sept 16, 2008 We ordered an engine for our 91 Mitsubishi 3000 GT . We wire transferred the money from our checking account into the account of Rhino Engines and Transmissions. Called several times to check the status of my order and never heard any news. So Sept. 29 I cancelled the order. Refund policy states you will have remaing balance within 5 business days. It has now been 2 months and no refund. Nothing seems to scare this company. I have contacted the Attn. Gen, the BBB and now I have filed papers against them and I am taking them to court.
But just beware consumers, the address that is listed on everything that you have recieved from them is directed to a UPS store. If you want a physical address go by the fax number that is on the business card that you have recieved, it will direct you right to the address of Tim Cone President/ Owner. Just wanted to make everyone aware that if they want to take legal action that is the route to take. I hope that everyone recieves their refund and or merchandise ordered from this company. If not I hope that the information that I have provided to you has at least help you to take legal action against this company.
heard he's operating agian under Gator engine an transmission, he got me for 2500. harry_mccarty@yahoo.com
Our shop did warranty work for Rhino on August 26, of 2008; and are refusing to pay. We have contacted them many times with no luck. Every time we reach them we get the run around with some other excuse as to why we haven't received our payment. Since December 1st of 2008 they have refused to answer any of our phone calls, and am now being told they are filing bankruptcy.
