Thomasnet.com Website development and Advertising

I think this is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company, because it was that bad.

I recently finished a 12-month advertising period with them and have nothing to show for it.

They also offer website services which I unfortunately used and it was a nightmare. Process was supposed to take 4 months, but it ended up taking 12. The website was so poorly done. Our blog page didn't even work after going live. Once they fixed that, we literally had a blog post on our website that was for some other company. They didn't catch those glaring mistakes and others during pre-launch or post-launch QC somehow.

Desired outcome: Have a professional website and maybe get 1 good lead from their listing database

Man, I wish I had checked here before I decided to use them. Spent over $1, 000 on their "service" only to get complete crap. Let's put it this way, my average costs to acquire a client average around $30. I paid thomasnet over $1, 000 and didn't get a single client. How's that for "value"?

I was rep there for 9 years. Here is the real scoop. This is a legacy company filled with stone-age management, old ideas and favorite sons. Nepotism isa good word to them. They spend about $2, 000, 000 per year advertising in Google (source Spyfu.com) That spend increases in Q4 when they are trying to renew their accounts and drops in Q1 once they have...

Do not waste your time or money advertising on this website. The sales reps tell tall tales about what great new business you are going to get by advertising on their site. What they don't tell you is that the salespeople are all independent contractors that work on straight commission. They make big promises but deliver very little in the way of ROI. I...

Just a big word of warning regarding ThomasNet. I replaced another marketing person, and am reviewing new and 7 years of annual contracts. ThomasNet charged between 7-$10K per year but when I took the list of companies TN says that they referred to us over the last 7 years, no one here recognizes any of them as former or current OEM buyers. They have...

Thomasnet.com They have advertised our site under completely inappropriate subjects

They have advertised our site under completely inappropriate subjects. They claim to increase traffic, they do not. The sales rep's have no respect for their clients. Treating them like idiots, I dont care who you are if you do this you will lose business. They used to be a great company to search for other companies, but now they are searched by so many forgien countries looking for a way to sell you there product making them completely outdated. Yes the paying for links can dramatically damage your google rating, when the wrong links are posted is even worse. They attempted to make themselves sound like they know what they are doing for your site but all they do is use a crappy version of Google Analytics, which is free, then charge you for the services. You cannot do anywork to your listed on your profile, it is a strictly read only. If you really want to improve your searching use google AdWords/PPC.
