Wicked Campervans
I am writing to complain about Wicked Campervans whom in my opinion need to be held accountable for the disgusting state that they rent their vehicles in, not returning my bond money and the total lack of resoloution of my complaint despite complaing nearly 2 months ago to them.
Firstly i would like to ask for any information you could give me regarding who to complain to outside of wicked campervans? I have requested the name of the organisation to whom they report to and who regulates them but they have so far failed to provide this information.
The vehicle was rented to us in a filthy state, my sisters white skirt was actually stained from sitting on the front passenger seat, the ceiling and windows had mold growing on them and their were two huge cracks in the window screen which when the light caught it right blinded the driver (me).
We returned the vehicle in exactly the same condition we rented it in only slightly cleaner and they kept the bond money to replace the damaged widowscreen! I must stress that we caused no damage to the vehicle whatsoever! We have photos of the dirt and damaged windscreen that are dated as evidence.
All I would like is the money back that they owe me, its that simple but they dont seem to be able to even investigate the complaint giving excusess like the management is out of the country and that they will respond later on in the day - no one ever does.
The company is completely incompetant from start to finish, the customer service is awful, the vans are attrocious and complaints go unresolved. Why is it that a company that operates in this way can continue to exist?
Kind Regards
Lianne
Attempt to warn prospective customers of my bad experience
I am travelling NZ with my girfriend. We are from the UK. I am writing to complain about the company "Wicked Campervans". Based in Australia, also in New Zealand and the UK. The best way for me to convey the details of my complaint is to attach the email sent to the company in question this morning 04/10/06. The complaint is regarding the quality of the...

I'm about to make my fourth phone call to Wicked to get a refund on my cancellation which is over $1000 as per their policy whilst they keep the $500 bond. They have not called me back as promised now 3 times and I'm quite nervous about getting the money back based on how they terrible they are with communication. A warning to others!
This is a company that preys on backpackers. They try to be cool by coming out with pedophiliac and disgusting marketing but in reality they are just a cheap money making outfit. However, the very people they aim at to peddle there wares are cottoning on to them. Skin up a phat one are given 'Wicked' a one fingered salute.
How about the filthy and derogatory signage they display on the vans. I witnessed an old bloke in a country town NSW Australia, use a can of black spray paint to block out the writing. Much to the pleasure of the locals and me included. There are also Caravan Parks in WA that refuse entry to WICKED VANS.
I think this company especially the one based in Australia preys on tourists. My 21 year old daughter rented a van there back in May 2013, and had an accident on her way to Cairns, she checked with the agent in Airlie who advised her if she paid for the repairs they would not hold her bond, she did this to the tune of $600 and the work was even checked out by the agent. As of today they are still holding onto her bond and are difficult to reach and evasive as to the status of the refund. I, as well as my daughter have tried numerous times to talk with someone regarding this and keep getting transferred to someone else, now they are saying the person who was assisting us is no longer employed there. I would advise anyone to be extremely careful dealing with this company, especially if you are on vacation and will not be in Australia for a long period of time. Their policy seems to be out of sight out of mind.
Inspect whatever you are renting before paying for it and if you see ANYTHING suspicious report it to the staff so it can be resolved:)
WICKED LONDON - BARCELONA
My son has just returned a van to Wicked Barcelona. It was collected from London
My son was stung 117 pound for not returning the van on time, leaving them without enough money to return to England.
The wan was at the Barcelona office on time. No one was there to hand the van over to, no parking area and no signs. No one in the street knew anything. The numbers they were given didn't work. They were treated rudely about being late due to them having to come back at the Barcelona office.
Due to no fault of their own, they should not have been charged the extra
Consurmer Affairs will be taking the matter up
Beware if you intend taking up the Wicked return van to base offer
You will be charged the same as renting it, or more!
HORRIBLE COMPANY - SCAM
Early on this year, I went on a trip to Australia with a few friends. A month prior to my departure, I reserved a camper van from a rental company in Brisbane called Wicked Campers. They quoted me $1200 USD for two weeks and charged me an initial fee of $250.00.
After arriving in Brisbane, my friend and I boarded a train and walked a mile or so with our entire range of luggage (Surfboards, Clothes, Etc) to their location. The first vibe I received from the location is that it looked like an illegal chop shop. After 15-20 minutes or so of waiting, one of the girls requested that I sign a rental form and give her my driver’s license prior to seeing the full amount I was about to pay. I refused and requested that I receive a formal contract with a dollar amount prior to singing any forms.
By this time, it felt like something fishy was going on. She presented me with a quote of $2300 USD for a van that looked like it was about to die. This was nearly twice the amount that I was quoted online! I presented her with the receipt I received online and she said they would not honor that price and that if anything happened to the van I would have to pay out of pocket for it. I requested that they honor the amount on my online booking receipt. They refused and I told them I didn’t want the van. After requesting the initial deposit of $250.00 back, they refused yet gain. I told them I would file a complaint and a dispute with my credit card company.
Dreadful company, communication nil, no explanation for the charges put on Visa, multitude of emails to company ignored. When asked for safety inspection of van post accident van disappeared very fast and almost as fast charges made to Visa. Impossible to talk to anyone in charge all communications answered by a "Sister" who obviously pays nothing more than lip service to problems. Owner operator seems to hide under a rock somewhere and can never be found. So happy they have problems in Queensland my concern is the safety of their operation elsewhere in the world. From Canada
What do you mean ALL the vans are dirty? I had one last year in SA and it was very clean. They returned my bond money.
Are you sure you didn't crack the window, something flew into it maybe?
I wouldn't say there totally incompetent either...
Ah well each to their own but.
