Nightmare experience with Right Cars: Overpriced, poor customer service, terrible car, bogus charges!
OF RIGHT CARS! I was super dissatisfied with my experience with them. When I got to the pick-up location, I was shocked to find out that the whole thing was meant to be done online and with a TV. I mean, come on, I paid so much and I didn't even get a person to talk to in person? The shuttle was also a pain to deal with. Honestly, I should've just rented a car from the airport and saved myself the trouble.
And let me tell you, things only got worse from there. The price they initially gave me online was a total lie. When I arrived, they wanted a lot more money and a deposit that was just way too much. Just not worth it at all. But I was already there, so I decided to just bite the bullet and see how the car they gave me was.
Well, let me tell you something. They had so many air fresheners in that car that I had to keep the windows down during my whole trip. The scent was just way too strong and made me cough and choke. And here's the kicker: When the scent started wearing off, the car started to smell like garbage! Gross.
When I returned the car, they hit me with a smoking fee of $500. Now, I don't smoke and neither does my husband. And the kicker? I had my three little ones with me on the trip. How can they charge me for smoking with all of that evidence? And on top of that, I filled up the tank before returning the car but they still charged me for refueling!
All in all, my experience with Right Cars was nothing short of a nightmare. They charged me for things that I didn't even do, plus the car was awful. Don't bother with them. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else.
Disappointing Experience with Right Cars: False Advertisements and Unnecessary Charges
I recently rented a car from Right Cars and I have to say, I was incredibly disappointed with the experience. I would not recommend this rental car service to anyone. To start with, their advertised lower rates are a complete lie. I had an encounter with this issue firsthand when I arrived at their office in Fort Lauderdale. As soon as I arrived, I was informed that I would need to have insurance with a property damage liability coverage of $300,000, which is not something that I have ever been asked for before. This was not made clear on their website or during the booking process. I was given the option to pay an additional $15 per day or lose my payment altogether and be stuck without a car and all of my luggage. This was highly frustrating, particularly since their office is located in a less than desirable area.
But that's not all. In addition to the extra charge that was not previously divulged, they also solicited me to purchase a transit pass for $15 per day, claiming that I would pay $25 per day in tolls if I did not purchase it. This was another lie, as I ended up only paying $3.25 for the entire three weeks that I had the car. It was an unnecessary expense that I wish I had not fallen for.
The rental agreement terms paper they gave me was also problematic, with a very small font that made it difficult to read. When I asked them about this, they just smiled and shrugged it off. In short, it was a very frustrating experience from beginning to end.
To add insult to injury, I was charged an additional $148.74 on my credit card after returning the car, with no explanation or justification. I have not heard back from anyone at Right Cars, and I don't know if I ever will. Needless to say, I would not recommend this car rental service to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.
Beware of Right Cars: Low prices with hidden insurance policies
I recently had an experience with Right Cars, and I must say it was not a good one. I came across their website right-cars.com and was lured in by their incredibly low prices on car rentals. I immediately booked a car rental with them, thinking I had hit the jackpot with such a low price.
However, when I got to the pick-up location, I was met with disappointment and frustration. It turns out that I could not get the car I had booked unless I had a million-dollar coverage on my own auto insurance or I bought their insurance. Their insurance was three times the worth of my car rental. I felt completely duped by their tactics, and the entire process left a bad taste in my mouth.
The pick-up office/booth was also cramped, and the staff behavior was unpleasant. I definitely felt ripped off by their policies, and it was one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had. I refused to be taken advantage of and had to cancel the booking. Unfortunately, this meant I had to make another booking from a different company that charged me a higher price.
To add insult to injury, I had pre-paid for the RC rental through Expedia, and even though this scammer RC rental company agreed to refund me after allowing me to cancel, they did not release my booking charge. This meant I did not receive a refund at all. I am still in contact with Expedia to get my money back.
In conclusion, I strongly advise others to avoid Right Cars. They might lure you in with their low booking prices, but you will only end up feeling ripped off and disappointed. Don't be fooled by their luring low price, as you won't get a car unless you are willing to cough out three times more money for their insurance. It was a horrible experience that I would not wish on anyone.
Avoid Right Cars: Terrible Service & Untrustworthy Franchise Structure
I went to the Baltic States and decided to rent a car from Right Cars due to their cheap prices. Unfortunately, my experience with them was not a pleasant one. When I arrived at the airport, there was no car waiting for me, nor was there a person to receive me. It took me a while to contact them, but they did not have an office at the airport and the person on the phone was not helpful at all. It was a stressful situation, and I ended up booking with a different company at the airport out of desperation.
I was disappointed with Right Cars and felt like I had wasted my time and money. I tried to contact them to get my money back, but they were understaffed and not responsive to complaints. They even got rude when I asked for my refund. It was a frustrating experience, and I felt like they did not care about their customers.
One of their weak points is their behavior towards customers. They have a franchising structure without a centralized control system, which makes it challenging for them to manage their operations effectively. They do not take enough action on complaints, and promises to refund money are not acted out.
I would advise anyone to stay away from Right Cars. It's not just one location that has issues; their franchising structure is problematic. I am still waiting for my refund after 2.5 months, and I booked through EXPEDIA. I even warned them about Right Cars. Do not think that they are okay since they are listed on EXPEDIA. Do not make the same mistake that I did. Stay away.
It's clear to me that this business is not managed well. If they do not improve their services, they will go into bankruptcy soon. Right Cars took EXPEDIA's money and did not provide a good service. While EXPEDIA did refund me out of their own pockets, it's clear that Right Cars is not a good company to rent a car from.
In conclusion, my experience with Right Cars was terrible. I would give them a score of 2/10, and I would advise anyone to avoid renting a car from them. They are not trustworthy, and their services are not up to par with other rental car companies.
Disappointing Car Rental Experience with Right Cars Near Auckland Airport
I gotta say, my recent trip was wicked, but the car rental from Right Cars near Auckland airport was a total letdown. I got four cars from different companies and three of them were smooth sailing, but Right Cars had to go and mess that up. Yeah, the rental cost was less, but so was the condition of the car. It looked like it had been through more than a few scrapes and dings.
Typically, whenever I rent a car, the branch employee does a proper check of the car to note any existing scratches or damage. But with Right Cars, the guy did NOT do that. He just said he knew there were many scratches and sent me on my way without giving me the customary document. I figured he was being straight with me and I trusted him.
Fast forward a few days and I return the car at around 9 pm, outside their office. In the dark, the branch guy quickly "finds" a new small windscreen damage at the bottom right corner and immediately says I'll have to pay for it. I was skeptical, seeing as how we were in the dark and I hadn't heard or seen any sign of damage before. When I asked to speak to his manager, he was like "nope, not happening".
To top it off, they charged me NZD124 (including a hefty admin fee) from my card, which really got my goat. I tried to lodge a complaint with their main office in the UK, but they just didn't seem to give a toss. All told, it was a supremely frustrating experience and I'd never use this company again.
Beware of Right Cars! Hidden Fees, Insurance Scams, and Fake Damage Charges
I pre-paid for my car rental with Right Cars on the 26th of April 2021, it cost me $266.70 for a 3-day rental which included taxes and fees. Travelocity was the website I used to book my rental and when I arrived in Orlando on May 5th, I was surprised to be asked to pay an additional $177.30 in fees and taxes. Even though I already paid for these at the time of my original booking! I explained that Travelocity had already charged me for these costs. However, they said that there was no documented cancellation and the fees needed to be paid. They wanted money for insurance as well, even though I had 250/500 liability, collision, and comprehensive covers from Michigan. They told me that Florida does not accept insurance from AAA and that I must pay for insurance.
I also needed a daily toll pass rental which was an extra expense, and on top of all that, they said they could not accept cash for the actual tolls. Out of the $266.70 I paid Travelocity, I was only credited with $210.00. Can you believe it? Apparently, the remaining balance is the commission that was paid to Travelocity. Why should I have to pay commission while being the buyer? This just seems wrong to me.
The experience was terrible from start to finish. When I returned the car three days later, I requested that they inspect it before I dropped off the keys. They accepted the keys from me and told me that I should not worry. I left still feeling uneasy about the situation. Six hours later, I received an email with a picture of the car's windshield that allegedly had a crack in it. They charged my credit card $500 for the apparent damage, and I was shocked by this. I saw other smudges and what looked like taped objects attached in the picture of the windshield they sent me. When I dropped off the car, I am positive that there was no crack to the windshield and there were no tapes or smudges on the windshield either. Those damages were not there when I returned the car. In my opinion, I feel like they were trying to scam me out of $500.
I am outraged by how I have been treated, and I hope that the government and regulators will do something to put these criminals behind bars. I have filed disputes and complaints with my bank, Federal trade commission, and Attorney General of Florida, but I am still waiting for the outcome. If only I had read reviews before booking with Right Cars then I would have known what kind of service to expect from them. I advise you to beware of them, I don't want anyone else to go through what I did.
Hidden Fees and Lack of Transparency: My Unpleasant Experience with Right Cars Rental
I recently booked a car rental with Right Cars via travel velocity. Upon arriving to pick up the car as agreed and approved via my documents, I was greeted by a chain-smoking guy who directed me to enter one of the two cubicles and press a digital touchscreen button - which I complied with. A lady appeared via the monitor and guided me through the required documents needed, including my credit card, driver's license, and proof of insurance, which I purchased at $12 per day. After scanning and reviewing my documents, the lady on screen informed me that my USAA auto insurance or even AAA, or the extra $12 per day insurance coverage did not cover or was not part of the rental agreement. To move forward, she informed me that I would have to pay either $155 to cover insurance and unlimited toll charges, or $134 without toll charges, in addition to a $500 deposit that would be refunded to me at the end of the car rental.
At this point, I was extremely surprised and confused, as I thought my insurance coverage was sufficient and covered everything. I tried to make sense of it to the lady on screen, but she refused to accept my insurance and said that if I did not want to pay the extra fees, then the car rental agreement would be cancelled and I would have to find alternative means of transportation. With limited options, I had no choice but to pay the hidden fees, which were never advertised or part of my original rental agreement.
Unfortunately, this nightmare experience caused me to miss out on certain activities and outings that I had planned for my trip. After a few attempts to resolve the situation, I eventually rented an upgrade vehicle from easitorent in Courtyard Marriott, which was adjacent to the nightmare rental place.
Although I was extremely frustrated and disappointed, I decided to call travel velocity to see if I could be refunded back my money. The customer service representative was very understanding and listened to my detailed explanation of what had happened. They suggested that I call back on Sunday, March 19, 2023, to see if I can get a refund for the hidden fees that I had to pay.
All in all, my experience with Right Cars was extremely unpleasant and stressful. The hidden fees and lack of transparency in their rental agreement left me feeling stranded and disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this rental company to anyone, and caution anyone who plans on renting a car from them to thoroughly review and understand their policies and fees beforehand.
Terrible Experience with Right Cars: Lack of Maintenance, Unreasonable Charges, and Poor Customer Service
When we got the car from Right Cars, it looked like they just gave it to us without checking it. There was garbage inside the center console, and it had a maintenance light on that should have been fixed before. The pressure gauge of one of the tires was not functioning, and the blinker light needed replacement. The gasoline tank door was not completely closed.
I returned the car in the evening, and I noticed that the gas tank door cover was missing. I wasn't sure whether it was because of the storm or not. The car rental charged me $500 for that cover, which I thought was too expensive. They didn't bother explaining the cost to me and told me that they have photos and videos of the car before I rented it, so it must have been me who was responsible for the damage.
He said that he would provide me with an invoice to give to my car insurance company for reimbursement. However, I didn't receive any detailed invoice from them, so I couldn't file a claim with my insurance company. When I called the car rental, they said that they were busy and asked me to call back later. I did, but no one picked up. A week later, someone else answered, and I had to explain the whole situation again, but they were still unable to provide me with the necessary documentation.
I was disappointed with their poor customer service and decided to pay for the damage myself, even though I thought the price was unreasonable. Additionally, I paid more than double the original amount I paid online when I got there, which was frustrating.
Overall, my experience with Right Cars was terrible, and I wouldn't recommend using them.
Disappointing Experience with Right Cars: Hidden Fees, Inaccurate Information, and Poor Customer Service
We recently made a reservation for a mini-van from Right Cars for our family vacation in Orlando, spanning 12 days. Unfortunately, our flight arrived late at night, forcing us to seek a nearby hotel and reschedule the car rental to the following morning. To our surprise, the rental office was a bit difficult to find as it was not immediately apparent, with the business signage bearing the name 'Red Coach' instead of 'Right Cars'. We feel that having the name of the business upfront would be more helpful for customers seeking car rentals.
Upon approaching the counter, the customer service representative quickly retrieved our reservation details and began proposing additional charges to the original rental cost. We were informed that accepting insurance for the car rental was mandatory, as Right Cars refused to honor other insurance policies. Conversely, in situations where we rented cars from other market leaders like Alamo, Hertz, Dollar, or Avis we were allowed to waive the LDW and CDW insurance and use our credit card insurance instead. Unfortunately, as we rented a mini-van, we were obliged to pay an extra $45.00 daily insurance charge (CDW+LDW), which escalated the initial rental cost of $533.00 to $1023.00 after taxes.
In addition to the insurance charge, Right Cars required us to pay a daily toll of $9.99 for Sunpass charges, which further increased our total rental cost. We were very disappointed as this was almost double what we had initially budgeted for our family vacation's transportation needs.
Due to Right Cars' off-airport location, we did not have any other option for rental, even though we were not satisfied with the additional charges. Unfortunately, the customer service representative working at the counter further dampened our rental experience by providing us with incorrect information. They informed us that the rental car could be returned as early as 6:00 am, but there would be no guarantee that a shuttle service to the airport would be available at that hour. We were left with no choice but to rent another car to take us to the airport the next day. However, upon returning the rental car, we were advised that shuttle services were available from 6 am onwards. We feel that Right Cars should provide accurate information to their clients, and furthermore, the shuttle service should be guaranteed irrespective of the time.
We were only pleased with one act of politeness and customer care, which came from a manager who paid for the one-day rental that we made to take us back to the airport. Otherwise, we were disappointed with our experience and strongly recommend that other travelers avoid renting a car from this company. After returning home, we were charged $839.00, which we believe to be a deposit fee. Sadly, we do not have any information on when we will receive our deposit back. This experience was unique to us as other market leaders can quickly return deposits with ease, provided there were no damages to the rental vehicle. To sum it up, we recommend that you avoid renting from Right Cars; they are a total scam.
Beware of Right Cars (Rent a Car 4Less Miami) - Worst Car Rental Experience of My Life
I've been renting cars for a really long time, like over 30 years, and let me just say that Right Cars, or should I say Rent a Car 4Less Miami (or ACO Rent a Car, who knows), is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. Like seriously, if I could give them zero stars, I would.
So anyway, me and the fam thought we were scoring a sweet deal with our reservation on Priceline for our trip to Orlando airport. Turns out, it was all a big scam and shame on Priceline for partnering up with these scammers. First of all, we thought we were getting a car right at the airport, but nope! We had to take a shuttle all the way to Wally Park to actually pick up the car. Sure, the shuttle was free, but still, it was a hassle.
Then, when we finally got to the lot to get the car, we had to deal with this video call crap with some representative all the way in Miami. At first, it was all good, we just had to provide our license, credit card, and insurance information for their records. But then, the dude starts telling us we have to pay a $250 deposit plus an additional $224 for insurance coverage. Like, what? We already gave him our insurance information, why do we need more insurance coverage? And as for the deposit, sure it's refundable, but still, come on.
We tried to decline the additional charges, but apparently in Florida, rental car companies are required by law to make us pay more for insurance coverage. And get this, they said we HAD to use their Surpass pass thingy for all tolls, even if we could just pay it ourselves at the booth. And if we didn't use their pass, we would get charged $26 per toll. What a scam! We were so mad, we tried contacting Priceline, but no one was picking up. And we couldn't even cancel the reservation.
So, in the end, we had no choice but to just take the car. It was a black Camry (like who even gets a black car in Florida?). But honestly, the car was fine and we had no problems during the trip. We even returned it early, with a full tank, and cleaned out all the garbage. But then, a couple days later, we get an email invoice saying we scratched the left rear door. They sent us a picture of the "scratch," but it was literally just a tiny dot. And we're pretty sure it wasn't there when we dropped off the car.
Now we're in the middle of a dispute with them over the ridiculous $600 they want to charge us for a tiny "scratch." We already replied to their email and they asked for proof that the scratch wasn't there before. But honestly, this whole thing has just been a nightmare. I don't want anyone else to get scammed like we did, so please, avoid Right Cars at all costs. And don't trust Priceline either.
Right Cars Complaints 10
Terrible Experience with Right Cars - Scam and Awful Customer Service
My experience with Right Cars wasn't good at all. I booked a rental car from them for my trip to Ft Lauderdale. First off, they were asking for $300,000 in liability which seemed a bit too much. I haven't heard of any other car rental agency asking for such a hefty amount. Even after paying such a huge amount, I was disappointed with their customer service. They were absolutely terrible. They were not helpful at all and didn't seem to care about their customers.
To make matters worse, they failed to provide me with the refund of $300 that I was supposed to get. I had to wait for four long days for an amount that should have been processed within minutes. When I called the local office to inquire about the status, they said that they had forgotten to submit the refund request. Can you imagine that! They had no intention of refunding my money.
Frustrated and angry, I decided to escalate the matter to the corporate office and e-mailed them. But guess what, even the corporate office was unhelpful and rude. It was obvious that they didn't care about their customers.
In conclusion, my experience with Right Cars was horrible and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are a scam, and their customer service is awful. This was my first time writing a negative review about a company, but I felt compelled to share my experience with others, so they don't have to go through what I went through.
Nightmarish Experience with Right Cars and Travelocity Rental
I had a not-so-great experience with Right Cars. First of all, when I tried to find their location on Narcosse Rd., I couldn't find it anywhere! This was frustrating, but eventually, I was able to get to their location. However, when I arrived, my rental car wasn't even ready. I was told it would take 45 minutes to clean, and I wasn't sure if I could wait that long.
To make matters worse, I found out that my USAA insurance wasn't accepted, and they tried to charge me an extra $30 each day for their insurance. This was a huge red flag, and I started to feel like something wasn't right. When the lady on the video chat (there was no one at the desk) offered to cancel the rental due to all the issues, I took her up on it without hesitation.
Instead, I went next door to Advantage and was able to get a car for $20 cheaper. I was relieved to have found a better option, but then I ran into another problem. Travelocity, the site I used to book the rental, stated that Right-Cars wouldn't agree to a refund. This was incredibly frustrating, and I didn't know what to do next.
Finally, I decided to file a credit card dispute and am currently waiting for the issue to be resolved. I can say for certain that I will never use Right Cars or Travelocity again. The whole experience was a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Terrible Experience with Right Cars - Poor Service & Unprofessionalism
My experience with Right Cars was terrible. I've rented cars for so many years, and I can say that they are the poorest and most unprofessional remap company I've ever dealt with.
They told me there was a shuttle bus from the airport to their rental location, but when I arrived, I was told there was none. I tried to call them, but no one answered my call at 4:40 pm. It was so frustrating.
To make things worse, they posted the wrong pick-up location. When I went to the supposed location to pick up the car, I was informed that they had moved to a different building. It was such a hassle, and I had to use Lyft to get to my hotel, which isn't cheap.
Overall, my experience was bad, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with them. It's just not worth it.

Deceptive and Dishonest: Right Cars Refused to Provide Car Despite Full Payment
So, I booked a car with Right Cars through Orbitz and paid the full amount aforetime. But when I rolled up to their counter, they refused to give me a car just because I had a debit card instead of a credit card, even though that was the same card they had charged me with. The rep then advised me to reach out to Orbitz to get the refund, taking no responsibility whatsoever. So, I contacted Orbitz and requested for the refund, but Right Cars shamelessly refused to give me my money back. Honestly speaking, they took my cash without even providing me with the car- what crooks! I fervently hope that Orbitz takes swift action and removes them from their website, to prevent anyone else from having to deal with such immoral and dishonest people.
Review: Right Cars in Miami - Disappointing Experience with Extra Charges and Rude Staff
So, I had myself a nice little trip to Miami a while back. Being the smart fellow that I am, I decided to rent a car from the folks over at Right Cars. And let me tell you, right off the bat I had some issues. I tried to use my State Farm Insurance, just like I always had when renting cars, but for some reason they wouldn't let me! Can you believe that? And I had my own Sun Pass too, but nooo, they wouldn't allow that either! What a crock!
So there I am, caught between a rock and a hard place, what else was I supposed to do? I had to pay extra for their insurance, and they charged me for the Sun Pass too. And to make matters worse, the girl working there was a real piece of work! She gave me some lip about it being my choice to rent from them, like I had a choice after I'd already made my reservation! Rude, man. Just rude.
I felt like I didn't have a choice but to suck it up and pay the extra charges, which ended up bumping my daily rate up to $38! Not exactly what I was expecting when I saw their cheap rates advertised. Needless to say, I won't be renting from Right Cars again. I'll be taking my business elsewhere, where they know how to treat a customer right!
Mixed experience with Right Cars rental service at Orlando Airport
I recently rented a car from Right Cars for a 2-week trip from Orlando Airport. At first, I was excited to use their service as it was affordable and easy-to-use on Expedia. However, once we arrived at the off-airport rental counter, things started to go downhill.
First of all, we had to wait for a long time for the shuttle to pick us up. This was a real pain as we were eager to start our journey but had to wait until the shuttle finally arrived.
Once we arrived at the rental counter, we were met with a surprise. We were charged an additional $8.25 per day for a toll transponder that was not previously disclosed to us in the rental terms. The excuse given was that we were from Canada and might not be aware of the toll charges. This was quite frustrating as it wasn't mentioned anywhere before we booked our rental.
To make matters worse, they held onto our deposit and refunded it later instead of destroying the credit card slip immediately when we returned the car. It was a little confusing and made me feel uneasy that they had my deposit money.
When I called Expedia for assistance, they were not particularly helpful and simply referred me to a disclaimer. The general disclaimer stated that there may be additional charges or taxes at the pick-up location, which was a little frustrating because I feel like they could have done more to help me out in this situation.
Despite the issues we encountered, the actual car rental experience itself was decent. The car was clean and reliable, which was the most important thing for us.
Overall, while the experience may not have been perfect, I would still recommend Right Cars as a decent option for car rentals. Just be cautious of any additional fees or charges that may arise.
Nightmare Rental Experience: Right Cars Failed to Deliver on Promises
I recently had a chance to rent a car from Right Cars (right-cars.com) and let me tell you, it was a real hassle! First off, we reserved our car and when we got to the airport, their shuttle didn't show up. We called the numbers they gave us but no one answered! We tried calling several times and we just couldn't get through! Finally, we managed to find a shuttle to take us to the rental cars location but that took us more than 3 hours!
Once we got there, we found out that the company didn't have any agents available. Everything was being done virtually! Can you believe it? And as if that wasn't bad enough, they told us that my 6-year old kid has been set as the driver and there's no way they could change it! Crazy, right? So they cancelled our booking and booked another car, but twice as expensive as what we originally intended to pay.
It was a long and frustrating process. After more than 4 hours, and with two little kids in tow, we finally managed to get the car. But wait, there's more! They charged us three times the actual price and didn't send us a refund! What a terrible experience! This was the first time we had such a terrible experience with a rental car company and it definitely won't be the last.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Right Cars rentals. The whole process was a mess and it caused a lot of unnecessary stress for us. They definitely need to work on their customer service and their procedures if they want to keep their customers happy.
Beware of Right Cars in Fort Lauderdale: Deceptive Fees and Poor Customer Service
I had the chance to rent a car from Right Cars during a recent trip to Fort Lauderdale in November 2019. As I had my own car insurance, I showed them the document to prove it. However, I was told that I needed an additional $300,000 in collision coverage to be able to rent the vehicle. Despite my attempts to explain that I didn't require this extra coverage, they insisted and charged me an additional $150.00.
The plan was to drive to the West coast, so I decided against getting the Sunpass for $190. Instead, I opted to pay the $54.00 fee. Unfortunately, several weeks later, I was shocked to receive a bill of $110.00 for tolls. I was only aware that I had crossed the Alligator Alley twice, so I asked for a bill from the Sunpass. However, despite my numerous attempts to obtain it, I was unsuccessful. Eventually, I resorted to contacting Discover Card to initiate an investigation into the matter. However, it was a futile effort as I had to pay the charges, even though Discover Card was unable to provide me with a copy of them. Thus, I ended up having to take the word of the Right Cars staff.
After my experience with Right Cars, I would highly recommend that you stay away from them. They were one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, and I have rented cars from several different agencies in the area for many years. Despite my repeated attempts to contact them, they refused to return any of my calls. Thus, it appears that the lesson has been learned – do not get involved with Right Cars!
Disappointing Experience with Right Cars: Forced Insurance and Useless Toll Coverage
So, I rented a car from Right Cars and it was not the best experience. Firstly, I was under the impression that they were located at the airport, but turns out you have to take a second shuttle to get there. This caused a bit of trouble as we waited for more than 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. When we finally got on the shuttle, the ride took 15-20 minutes to reach the car rental company.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a representative who forced us to take the insurance that cost us 70 US dollars. We were told that if we did not have the insurance papers in English with us, the company will require us to take their insurance. Despite my efforts to decline the insurance coverage, I had to take it anyway.
To make matters worse, they also offered us a per-day toll coverage for 14 dollars. When I asked if there were tolls on our way to Pompano, they told me that tolls are everywhere now and that we could not pay cash or with a credit card. However, surprisingly, during our week-long trip, we didn't see any tolls.
After just two days, I realized that the toll coverage was completely useless for us, and I wanted a refund. Unfortunately, when I contacted them, I was told that it was non-refundable.
Overall, my experience with Right Cars was not pleasant. From having to take a second shuttle to pick up the car, to the mandatory insurance, and the useless toll coverage, it was a bad experience.
Beware of Right Cars: Deceptive Policies and Price Gouging
Right Cars ain't no good at keeping to what they agree on. I said to 'em, real clear and plain, that I'd bring my own SunPass, but did they listen? No way, Jose. When I talked to 'em 'bout booking the car, they told me to bring my own and it'd all be cool, but that was just a big fat lie. They also fibbed 'bout the insurance - they reckon the State of Florida says you gotta have it, but I know for a fact that ain't true 'cause the AG done told 'em so. And yet still they charge me an arm and a leg - almost $325! - for using their SunPass when I'd already got my own in the car. Truth is, they don't care 'bout nothin' but getting your money.
The way they make ya sign things is terrible too. You can't even see what they're making you agree to before you're already stuck in the middle of things. It's a downright nasty company, and they don't give a flying fig 'bout their customers. I swears, I will never ever be rentin' from them again, and as far as I'm concerned, nobody else should either. I seen plenty of people - especially folks who don't know the score - gettin' ripped off, and it's just plain crooked. They make their prices seem low, but they're really just trying to fool ya. Adds up to $50 or $60 extra per day just for insurance and SunPass, which is highway robbery if I ever seen it.
