paint
Ok so I went to the Rona cash and carry and bought a bunch of supplies for drywall and painting. This is the one in Kingston Nova Scotia. The young guy that works there mixed my paint. I got a green and black cherry in colour. I bought three cans and 11 sheets of drywall. So put Everything in my truck thinking that they did there job properly and closed the paint cans tight. Well I guess I was wrong and one of the green ones was not closed properly and some paint had come out and on my seat of my truck in the back. So i call the store and explain and I let them know I'm coming down to talk with them. And I'm not being rude or anything. I get there and the young guy brought me to the manager and I showed the manager the can and he said it impossible for that to happen. I said what do u mean it's clear to see that the can was not properly closed. And he said to me take me to court. This is not rite I had my receipt in hand and everything. I want something done please. I now have to see about my truck and I no longer want to shop at Rona because of this guy. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. You can see in the photo where the can is not closed properly
kitchen cabinetry and customer service mismanagement
I arranged to have cabinets ordered through a company recommended by RONA kitchen and bath designer Sarah Lane. The company is called Orchard Park. They were recommended as reliable and offering services at the best price. They gave me a good estimate and the delivery was supposed to be the beginning of August (the 7th). On delivery day, the moving company (Mackie Moving Systems, Oshawa) didn't bring one of the pieces. They said it must be accidentally left at the warehouse and it will be delivered shortly (within a day). They said they would put the mistake in the computer and will call me.
I was waiting for 2-3 days. By this time, the installer figured out that the sizing of the cabinets already delivered was incorrect. We also noticed patches of paint chipped off. Also, one of the walls of the cabinets was the wrong colour.
Sarah was called and came by the house. She took pictures and contacted the Sales Reps of the cabinetry company (photos attached).
Not only was I upset at the lack of quality and the total disorganization, I was upset that this option of contractors was actually RECOMMENDED to me as being the best she had ever worked with through RONA. Chipped paint, missing cabinets and wrong colours all in one delivery.
To her credit, she did her best to give me the options of how to deal with these issues. When I did choose the replacement pantry to actually fit into the kitchen, It was determined that I would now have to wait until the 3/4th of September. And the missing cabinet would be located or it will be replaced.
Recently the missing cabinet was found (the Mackie Company called me) and told me I had two options of days to be home to receive it. On Tuesday August 21st or Thursday August 23rd. I couldn't take that time off work, and I asked the installer that I hired to be available at the house from 11-3pm on Tuesday the 21st and it was agreed that it would be delivered then. In the time I was arranging the delivery with the Mackie Company, it was noted they had my address (house number) wrong and I quickly corrected them. By the time it was 3pm on Tuesday and no shipment had arrived, the installer called them and they told him they don't deliver on Tuesdays.
The next day, I emailed Sarah and she emailed me back that she apologizes that it happened and will look into it. She said that Mackie left me a message and they ABSOLUTELY DID NOT. No message about non-delivery. She found out that someone made another mistake (from the Mackie company) and arranged the wrong date for me. So she asked me to call them again and arrange another date. To which I replied, I'm not going to do it anymore and suggested she has it delivered to the Grimsby RONA location. I can't take another day off or ask the installer to stay to spend his valuable time waiting for the unreliable subcontractors that RONA has hired.
I'd like to you understand, by going through all of these mistakes, I'm so upset that I told Sarah I will make sure that everybody I know in Grimsby won't use RONA services. I feel like I'm trapped, because now if I have to return all this cabinetry who knows how long it will take me to order it through someone else. Am I supposed to live for another 2-3 months without a kitchen?
Right now my house looks like a disaster. I'm walking around on broken floors, I'm unable to cook normally or wash dishes. All thanks to the RONA services. I'm on the verge of calling the local newspaper to divert people from using RONA services.
If I don't receive any sort of a response/support. I'm 100% going to the local papers in our area so no one has to go through the same ludicrous non-service.
over all experience
I will never step foot in this store again. Worst customer experience I have ever had. The minute you walk in the floor staff scatters, the cashiers are all absolute miserable, not even a grin let alone a smile, one of them yelled at my son for touching a lamp from across the store. They were supposed to come give us a quote on a counter top we need installed, no show, no call so when we did he said he was not able to but might find us someone who could, never received a return call and no reason for saying no to us. I am appalled.
allan blocks
I went on the website to order these blocks after I paid they said that they didn't have these in stock. If you guys didn't have them in stock then why would you put them on the website. This is such a misleading thing to do. I am a regular shopper at your rona stores but after this it makes me so mad. If you dont have it then dont put it on the website. I always try to shop Canadian shops but you wonder why people go to the other stores.
delivery in vancouver, bc
Absolute worst delivery experience I've ever had. Ordered my fridge on June 11. Today is July 4 - still have not received my fridge. Why? Because the delivery people "Dan and Anisa" refuse to follow instructions, or use their own brain. Never once did they phone the night before to schedule a time. They would simply show up, usually at 8:30 am, then state "nobody was there". Well, duh! You expect people just to be available 24/7 when they have NO idea when to expect delivery.
I phoned and left messages a few times letting them know they needed to phone the night before to schedule, but no, that seemed to be more of an effort than showing up whenever they felt like it, and hoping somebody would be there.
I finally got to talk to a human (not Dan or Anisa), scheduled delivery for July 4 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. They phoned at 8:00 am, but nobody answered, because they always phone from an unknown number/name - whoever answers that! So, they show up at 8:30 am, ring the doorbell (first time they've tried that), but leave before I get to the door.
I finally cancelled the order. Will buy a fridge from a company that uses competent delivery people. Will NEVER order from Rona again.
Rona, unless you choose to lose lots of customers I'd suggest you find better delivery service, because Dan and Anisa are incapable of following instructions.
general service
Twice I have been in rona on wonderland Rd london ontario and twice I waited for service and twice I left after 5 minutes of waiting someone to come and help me with a question... I hit the paging system that was set up for me to have help. There was no assistance at all. Now I will head down the road to Home Depot where I will find the service I need even if the part is not there at least there will be service!
customer service
To whom it may concern, my name is Cassandra and my First experience yesterday was good when shopping for material, Rona employees were very helpful... A few hours later came back with my friend Yolanda who was paying for the material we decided to go with for landscaping project in her yard...From the time we were @ order desk to picking up in your yard, ignarance was also given, the girls at the cash register were wonderful though, Even had to get them to sign off on material as we were driving out as they wanted to wave us on by after receiving a partial load off of the invoice. I still have to go back 3 more times in your back yard to pick up our remaining material which I feel sick to my stomach with doing that task. Rona is all of a sudden disgusting to me and I never want to go back...
Will be speaking to the Rona in Medicine Hat about this lack of effort of any sort with your customer service when I go back there today sometime...
Would like you to educate your employees on how to be kind by helping and not hindering there customers please!
Sincerely,
Cassandra-Lynn🌹🐝✨

scratch & save/elegance composite decking
My husband and I were in one of the Winnipeg locations in the middle April looking to purchase 200 boards of Elegance composite decking and all the accessories. At that time there was a poster located in the stack of inventory indicating a 20% off sale. Unfortunately this sale had passed (end of March) and we were told that they would no longer honour the sale even though there was still a poster. We were told to come back the following weekend and there would be a sale where we could eat 15% back in gift cards or wait until the following weekend for the scratch and sale event. We decided to wait for the scratch and save. We went back to this same location on Sunday late afternoon to order the deck boards. We were then told at that time that the composite deck boards were classified as construction lumber and did not qualify for the sale. This morning I called the 2 other Winnipeg locations and was advised that those composite boards did in fact qualify and they had Offer the scratch and save on them all weekend. We are very disappointed with the service and advise offered. Any assistance you can provide would be very much appreciated!
delivery
Horrible delivery service! its been weeks since the time we bought the appliance washer. We paid for the product and delivery fee. They V8 company they use for transport partner is just the worst company i ever seen. They have confirmed bookings numerous times and failed to ship every time!. Every time, there's excuse. First time was technical programs in ordering system. Second time was Just never appeared during the 5 hour window which the customer said because the truck broke down. Third time, Never even appeared again (waited another 5 hours with follow ups telling me it will be delivered). Fourth time, they told me they are under-staff. With talking to two different customer service gave me two different reasons/excuses (Driver quit and driver has family problems, so not working today; i also noticed all the lies and excuses already showed up the exact same one complaint reviews on Yellow pages for this company). This shows me they just lie through their teeth. This is Unacceptable!
unclear policy exchange
I had a terrible experience today. I tried to exchange a dryer machine that I bought on August 29 2017 in the location 50 Gillingham Drive, Brampton ON, and delivered on September 02 2017, this machine has been never installed nither used, it is still in the original conditions.
The receipt is showing 90 days of purchase for exchange or refund, but when I go to the store to try to exchange it, they said I can not Do it because it was already more than 30 days from the purchase time.
I called Rona Appliances Customer Service, to explained I Do not need the dryer machine, I just want to exchange it, they said it is not possible under any circunstances, I Do not understand why nobody explained me, at the moment of the purchase that I have just 30 days to return these appliances.
I had have never this kind of problem before in any other store, I felt really horrible they Did not try to help me, I just wanted to exchanged it, I bought a house one month ago, I will need many appliances and other items but for sure I will never buy in any Rona store again and also I will not recomend Rona store to my friends.
Rona store please spicify in your purchase receipt that appliances do not apply for exchange in 90 days. Do not cheat on your customers. Thanks.
very poor customer service
Respected Sir or Madam,
Today we went to Rona that is located on:
2665 32nd Street N.E
Calgary, Alberta
T1Y 6Z7
As I were called for our turn in the returns/exchanges line. I went to the lady name Christine at returns/exchanges desk on the rona location that is provided above and told her that the sander named skill which is made locally in Calgary is not working properly. She didn't even bother to ask for receipt but instead she started saying we can't return it because it is used. I am questioning you how would you know that the product works without even trying. Plus I also bought extra two belts for sander in case it does work properly which it didn't. I told her that please return this what will I do with this that it doesn't even work properly the purpose we bought it for. She said "OK let me go talk to my manager". I said "OK, we are waiting here". After talking to the manager she said I can't return it as manager said "No". The manager lady named crystal came running in very disrespectful manner to the desk where I were standing and said in very rude way "What's the matter? You are saying is not working proper, let me show you that it works". The manager named Crystal started opening the box of the sander very roughly in rude manner and plugged in the outlet and rubbed very harshly and rudely against the wall and said" what's the matter?, It's working proper, Stop lying in very rudely and agressive behavior and also said take this back to your home we are not refunding the money. Manager Crystal was trying to forcefully make us take the sander to home. I stood in the line again than finally it was my turn again but this time we were going to different lady from before. We told her that we want to return this and she was just about to refund the money by the time the lady name Christine arrived and said rudely " I already told you, we are not refunding the money so leave from here." I said why, how would we know how it works without trying it. She said there's no way I am talking to you in very rude behavior and rolled her eyes on me. By that time the manager lady Crystal arrived and said aggressively "look we are not refunding your money". I said " is this the way you behave with your customer everyday in very respectfully manner, I am going to complaint against the behavior you are having with customers. Aggressively she said " I don't care, go ahead complaint what they gonna do about it, here's the number". Now I am requesting you to please don't have these type of employees that are breaking your permanent customers due to this rude, disrespectful, aggressive behavior. I were your permanent customer but the behavior I got today was unbelieveable that is this how they treat customers. She removed 25% of the full price 79.99$ and this is the first time I am receiving behavior like this. I am requesting you to return the remaining money and to teach the manager Crystal and emoloyee christine in the Rona location that is on 32 St Be how to deal with customers. I hope you will understand my situation.
I hope you take this seriously and take action on this complaint so further customers won't get this type of behavior. Thanks

ref.: Torchiere Lamp 71" - Oiled Bronze
Article #43855041Item #[protected] Model #PF0022
When we were in Edmonton, we bought light fixture for our home. Usually we always buy from our local store here in
Fort McMurray if possible.
We wanted a floor lamp, identical to the one we bought several months earlier from Rona Fort McMurray. We therefore stop a
Rona Edmonton to check if there were in stock. As the price display was lower than what we'd check from RONA Fort McMurray,
we decide to buy immediately (thinking it was on sale) and bought other product need for the house.
Back at the house, when we open the box of the lamp, we see that's was defective; Manufacturer default, not the store.
So I return to Rona Fort McMurray.
I had to show the cashier the defective lamp, she grab another one, open the box and find that it was okay.
Invoice in hand, she found out that I had bought it less than 24 hours before and told her was from another Rona store.
To my amazement, when she check the price, there was a $24 difference. The regular price sold by Rona Fort McMurray
is $143.00.
She offer me to exchange the lamp if I paid the difference. Of course, I refuse.
She then call her manager, a lady came and told me the price for the lamp is $143.00 not less, this is their price and that's the
price I will have to pay if I want another one. She will refund me the one that is defective and I will have to pay their price to have
another lamp otherwise I have to buy it elsewhere, being arrogant.
Discouraged by the customer service manager of Rona Fort McMurray and since the lamp was defective and unusable, I simply
let the lamp and the cashier refund me but not at the price displayed in their store.
Back home, I check prices online from other RONA store in Edmonton and Grand Prairie. Their price is the same $119.00 for the
exact same product.
So I compare all my purchases I did at Rona that day and found out that I save $71.40 for my home improvement project.
THE Rona Fort McMurray wants us to paid more money for their profit.
This is not a few dollar difference but a lot more for each single product. Especially for home renovation and decoration.
So if you do your home improvement yourself because you can afford someone else to do that, but you do not have the choice
to buy what you need to achieve your project, check twice before giving your money to your local store Rona in Fort McMurray.
Only Rona *Fort McMurray* raise their prices of most of their products, especially for home improvement. They don't care of their
Policies and Privacy and Price Guarantees, if it is not to their advantage. We have made major improvements over the year to our
house and buy a lot at that store. As a resident of Fort McMurray for many years, I find unacceptable that a large retailer like
RONA Home Improvement can benefit from this point of the economic and geographical vulnerability of local residents of a city
located in the north.
I request that floor lamp for the same price of the other lamp and advise people that their price is higher then other Rona store.
Photos and proof will be proved upon request.
customer service
I can't believe what happened to me today at Rona on 6965 King George Boulevard. Last year I bought Laminate Flooring, about 100 boxes. I'm building a house in Quesnel, I actually have an account at the Quesnel store. But this Laminate Flooring was on and caught my eye, so I thought I would buy it to install when the time came. Anyway an unfortunate turn of...

I would like to start off by saying ever since I purchased my house in Barrie(2010), Rona has been store of choice to shop for home improvement items(Kitchen cabinetry, paint, outdoor sprinkler, various building materials, tools, outdoor landscaping products ect). On May 8th 2014, at approximately 9:45PM I went to Rona Barrie and was greeted by the customer service employee upon entering. I stated I had purchased an Orbit outdoor water timer and the 4 way manifold portion of the product had failed. I stated to the customer service member that the product had a 6 year warranty as I looked on the Rona.ca website prior to going to the store. She then stated that there would have been a booklet that would have come with the product. I told her I would go get the product so she could see the booklet she had requested. Upon returning to the desk she stated she would have to get a plumbing associate. Once the plumbing associate had come up to the front he thought I wanted to return the product I took off your shelf and at that point he stated that Rona does not sell that particular product. Once I told him I just got it off his shelve he stumbled upon his words and said “Sorry I’ve never see it”. I then presented the situation I encountered and he said I would have to come back in the morning to find out if it was an in store warranty or manufacture warranty. At this point I was a little frustrated because I had felt like they just wanted to get rid of me for the night as it was 10 minutes until closing. The plumbing associate was saying anything to make the problem go away for the night even if he wasn’t 100% sure of the situation. I then told the customer service rep that I did not have a 3 year old receipt and that I shop at that Rona all the time and that there must be a way they could take care of me. Upon calling the Manager Phil, he came over already aware of the situation and did not take the time to introduce him self and explain the situation in a manner that he actually cared. He simply came over and stated basically sorry you don’t have your receipt I cant help you out. At this point I was extremely disappointed of the lack of customer service and decided not to continue in trying to argue my point in simply solving the problem. I then proceeded to go to Home Depot where I thought I would see how they treated me when presented with the same situation. Upon entering Home Depot, they simply said go get the product we will take that part out of the packaging and send the old one out with the new packaging defective. I did not have a receipt and they did not even ask how long ago I purchased the product. I asked for the manager there and told him that I did not actually purchase the product from them and that by simply doing that for me and just taking care of their customer is what will continue to bring customers back. I let him know that I will be shopping with Home Depot in the future and that they have gained a customer for life. I will now most likely tell a majority of family, friends and co-workers about my experience at Rona and Home Depot and ultimately that will impede on Rona’s business if it has already not been done. In todays retail market and online having such a strong presence price is relatively the same everywhere you go. What will make the location to shop for items difference is the service provided to customers. Service today is what separates retailers apart even if the price is slightly higher. Hopefully the employees at Rona Barrie and the Manager at Rona Barrie can learn from this experience and change in the future. It is a real disappointment that I can not support our own Canadian economy by shopping at Rona in the future.

fail to order our countertops
This is our second time trying to order a counter top with Lac La Biche Rona and again they have shown us that they are absolutely incompetent. The first time was a couple years ago where they either completely lost or forgot our order for our bathroom counter tops. We thought we would give them a second chance and this time try to order counter tops for our kitchen. We had to contact them to see if the quote was in and decided there was a few changes to be made with the counter top before ordering. We have been waiting for two weeks now with no return phone calls about our order. We had taken our business to another place where they already returned with our quote, which is way cheaper, and we are about to put down our deposit so it can be order while in the meantime Lac La Biche Rona still haven't returned our call about the quote. I can't fully explain how ridiculous and in a way hilarious this is. Not only has Lac La Biche Rona lost a customer but we will be telling people about our experiences there. I know it is not all Ronas because we have had good experiences with Edmonton Rona, but we will never step foot in the door of Lac La Biche Rona again.

REFUND MONEY OWED BY RONA
Rona rona rona, beware of them! Where do I start? Rona heartland store in mississauga is the worst store you could ever go to. I bought an outdoor sunshade gazebo back in 2007 and was never able to pick it up. But when I finally decided that I could go pick it up, rona blamed it on me that I have already picked it up. To my dismay, I was surprised that who could have picked it up on my behalf. I was literally scammed off of $450.00 by then asst. Manager mr. John verna. He started giving me different excuses after excuses that he is looking into it or he is doing an inventory or the head office is looking into it. So to say, he kept strolling and strolling and strolling and wanted me to give. But how could I just leave my $450.00 behind and forget about it. The # had the nerve to to say that I picked it up. I tell everyone he's a bloody swine who robs people of their money just to make their store sales look better and then he gets promoted to a higher position of a store manager at a different rona store location. To make a long store short, another devil (Bill garaham) comes in picture, who says he's partnered with rona and he bought that store and boasts that he bought another 3 rona store locations. But no one wants to look into my issue of $450.00 that they owe and keep playing stupid games of she called and he called me and no one ever returns my calls. I have been in touch with rona heartland store since 2007 and bloody idiots don't want to give me my money$450.00. I contacted their head office and no one replies to my e-mails. I have made up mind that I will never step in that store or any stores that bill graham owns, because, clearly him, john verna and their staff are all thieves. There's a whole lot going on behind desks that people are not aware of and they are pocketing customers money. I say we should start a class action law suit against rona and let them know that they can't fool customers. Beware of rona! They are cheaters!

unprofessional work and multiple damages
We contracted Rona to install a new bathtub in our home. They sent a subcontractor that was not qualified to do the work. He did plumbing and electrical work and he is neither an electrician or a plumber. The taps do not fit, he cut our floor tiles and left a gap between the tiles and the tub, the tub surround is poorly installed, the tub leaked and we now have a hole in the ceiling in the basement as well as a hole in the wall of the room adjoining the bathroom. Rona sent the contractor and some staff to do a site inspection on Dec. 29th. We have requested that they send an electrician to certify the electrical work and a plumber to repair the taps or refund our money so that we can hire our own contractors to repair the job and the damages caused by the contractor. They have not responded to date. (Jan. 3/2007.)

We had a new water heater installed 2 years ago. This is a supplement to our solar water heating system which normally is guaranteed for 10 years. We had our solar system checked and it was discovered that the panels were running hot due to an error by the Rona installer. This mistake has cost us over $700.
The installer was horrible from the beginning. He left a large hole in the wall leading to the exterior, and we had to call him back to fix it. It would have allowed entry by vermin if we had not noticed it.
I received this plant for mother's day. It was 60.00. The palms have been turning brown ever since it was brought. I fertilized it but that did not help.
right on
Kingston Rona consistently fails customers. Rona is the worst of all the construction materials stores. They take your money and you don't even get the products. Return policy? I'm sure it is illegal. They don't refund, they exchange and the cards they exchange to expire, but they don't tell you this, so you've returned the goods but they still have the money. BOYCOTT RONA!
dont buy any thing at the rona in longlac they do not follow the policies of rona i bought a lawnmower and the wheels kept on falling off so i took it back for the refund and they would not give me my refund the owner says he has the last say and he owns the store and he does not have to answer to rona
We are very unhappy with Customer Service at Rona/Millwork store in Oshawa, Ont. We had a counter and backsplash installed. It took 72 days to complete a 3 day job because of mistakes made on their part. We were understanding at first but Sue Maarse, who headed the kitchen dept. was not very helpful and she was condescending. No one at the store gets back to us in a timely manner and we were forever running after them. Even as I write this complaint I am waiting for the Manager to call us back regarding a serious mistake made that was supposed to be fixed but wasn't. The contractor lied and said he fixed it but it was not. Very deceptive. I am forced to put in a formal complaint to the Consumer Protection Board at the Ministry. Millbrook had a good reputation in Oshawa but now that Rona has bought the store that reputation is fast dissolving. They really need to hire some competent sales people that can at least address these complaints or they will loose a lot of business that Millwork worked hard to keep.
Consumer Beware: Bought shingles supposedly warranted for 40 years that started disintegrating before 6 months. Have been given the "run-around" for over year and still no resolution. Shingles made by BP Canada and sold by RONA.
I live in Barrie, and in the South end I have the choice of Rona, Lowe's and Home Depot. I stopped shopping at Rona years ago after an issue I had with them over a return of an extension cord. I bought a brand new extension cord took it home and it didn't work, so I tried to return it with the receipt. The lady at customer service told me because I used it I couldn't return it, I told her I would have loved to use it but I bought it that morning and it didn't work. She got the manager to come over, he was on the phone, took one look and said we don't return extension cords (while still on the phone) turned his back to me and walked away. He was extremely arrogant, had I been a younger man I would have punched him out on the spot, I was infuriated, but before I did something I would have regretted I walked away and I've never been back since. I now have a contracting business that I buy $100, 000's/ year in materials that all goes to Home Depot and Lowe's. My father flips house's, and I told him I would never speak to him again if he used Rona, every person I can get to not shop there is a small victory for me.
I bought a fridge at the Barrie South location in the middle of August. I was told it would be between 10 to 14 days for delivery. It is now the end of September and still no fridge. I really would have like to have that 10 to 14 day delivery because I was on vacation at the time and it would have been convenient for me. Nevertheless, I have gone in person to customer service, I have called numerous times, I have emailed all to no avail. Always somebody else could help me, that person isn't in now, we have to call around, someone will get back to you, or... no answer at all. Still no explanation why it's taking so long nor a real date of when we could expect it. Holy|! It wasn't even a special order fridge, just a very popular model. I don't understand. How can there be nobody to answer our questions? My husband and I are both really relaxed and patient people but we have lost it with this store. I plan on going in tonight to get a refund. Then we will go across the road to Home Depot and buy the same fridge. I am hoping to have a new fridge before Thanksgiving.
I feel betrayed because I really wanted this so-called Canadian store to succeed but they don't really deserve to.
Rona is the most unethical company you will deal with. Their people are lazy and arrogant and when you take issues to their so-called client service they send you back to the store. Their gazebos have the elegant name Uberhaus but are actually cheap seconds they buy in Some third world country. The gazebo I purchased fell apart after one year and just outside the warranty. They refused to help. I laugh when I hear their CEO talk about their Canadian roots and the big bad American chains. The American chains sure know how to retain customers for life. I hope Rona goes under and puts all the sloths out of work.
