Duties charged by the invoice, but not paid to ups
I ordered jewelry for almost $1000 and was immediately charged shipping and import duties. Now UPS is asking me for another 15% import duty so that I can get the delivery.
10 days with the customer support annoyed me and explained, but unprofessional staff doesn't understand anything or doesn't want to understand. In the end they didn't respond to my emails at all.
I can only warn any foreign customer against this internet shop, they are being ripped off with costs that Ross & Simons charges the customer but does not pass on to the delivery services so that the import duty (already paid to Roos & Simons) can be paid.
Unethical behavior
My husband purchased a necklace from Ross- Simons for me as a birthday present. I was thrilled when I opened it. Unfortunately, the clasp was defective so I sent it back to Ross-Simons, the very next day. I waited three weeks and then started to call them and got no response as to when I could expect to receive my repaired necklace. 6 weeks later they sent it back to me. It was evident with the naked eye that diamonds were missing. I took 3 pictures and sent it back registered mail and never got a phone call. It took me two weeks to get a representative on the line and he said, "there are no diamonds missing." Then he implied that maybe I lost them. I asked him, "If there were no diamonds to begin with, then how could I have lost them?" I pointed out that anyone could clearly see where the diamonds were missing, the prongs still there but no diamonds. He then told me I could have a $350.00 credit which is absurd because my husband spent $800.00 on this ring. Luckily our son is a lawyer and he sent a letter, along with the photos and they returned our money, minus the return shipping! The entire process took 5 months. You'd be a fool to deal with these frauds. One last thing, good luck ever getting off of their mailing list. You can call all you want, they don't care.
I have been a customer for years….Last November I purchased as a Christmas gift, a gold over silver bangle for my daughter who takes excellent care of her jewelry. She is an educated professional. The bracelet has only had light wear. It appears to be tarnishing with “black” areas on the bracelet. It is not even a year old! While I understand it is not solid gold, under the circumstances, it should not be doing this. I paid about $250 for it. I felt embarrassed when she showed me. My advice, do not waste your money! I have reported it but have had no response sadly.
Jewelry book
"I ordered a jewelry book.. for travel. It did not come. When I called to check the first time, they said it was on back order and gave me a date to expect it. When it didn't come again I called and they said the back order date was moved up. At that time they said they would put me on top of back order list and priority mailing. again, I did not get it. they called me then - 2 months later, to say that my payment had been declined, so although they received a shipment - they moved me to back of back order line and now have some date in March (3 months later). I have absolutely no credit issues and I'm quite certain the payment was declined because of the long delay from order date which I originally did online - to billing date...which was THEIR fault not mine. So they move me to the end of the line? after all this they actually get a shipment but don't call to clarify payment issue and don't send it to me? and the woman is defensive and rude with me? Do NOT use this company unless you want to wait months and months for an order, and do not believe them when they give you a date. I cancelled my order"

I didn't get any help from this company
It was the last time, when I have ordered from the company www.ross-simons.com. I placed the order and got the confirmation email, where the seller informed me that the package would arrive within 7-10 days. I patiently waited and I go nothing. But the seller avoided my emails and I couldn’t get any information about the purchase. I need to contact their manager, so please maybe someone can help me.
Please contact Ross-Simons at [protected] and ask for the supervisor’s desk, ext 301. Thanks

SHOULD HAVE ORDERED FROM AMAZON.COM
I was shopping for affordalbe wedding rings for my fiance and me. I found a great diamond eternity band for a reasonable price at Ross-Simons (R-S) and placed an order for it. It will be on backorder for several more weeks - not a problem becuase the wedding is several months away.
Since I found such a deal on my ring, I decided to get my fiance's ring there as well, even though I found comparable prices at Amazon.com, Ice.com, BlueNile.com --- and even Costco! I placed my order online with Ross-Simons based on my previous experience. Seemed ok at the time.
The next day, I logged into their website to check on my order status. I couldn't find my order so I called Customer Service. Apparently the sale hadn't gone through and the representative was very helpful and all too happy to take my money. This ring was also on backorder but several retail stores had it in stock so they were going to send the ring asap.
My fiance's ring arrived the next day. It was lovely! Around 5 pm that day, I checked my bank balance online and saw the account was overdrawn by several hundred dollars. The amount was oddly enough similar to the price of the ring. I called R-S to see if they had any information for me. It started off well enough. Two stores had responded to the request and both had charged my account. It seemed plausible but I know from personal experience that most stores have a process to avoid this sort of thing from happening.
Then the rep. informed me that since another ring was on its way, I would have to wait until the merchandise arrived and then return it and wait for my account to be credited. SERIOUSLY? You make a mistake and I have to pay for it? I don't think so. The rep. started to have an attitude and I responded in kind. Eventually she tried to pass me off to a supervisor until she found out that noone was available. I've never heard of such a thing --- no supervisor, noone else in the entire company that I can speak with? "Nope, " I was told. They were all in a big meeting and couldn't come out.
So I decided to call back repeatedly until I got a supervisor. It took around 30 minutes. They stuck to their guns about that meeting! The supervisor informed me that she could put in a request to have my account credited for the 2nd ring but it wouldn't happen becuase I had just missed the manager who was authorized to do it. Makes no sense to me.
The next day I finally spoke with a very helpful supervisor who credited my account and was making arrangements to reimburse me for any overdraft fees - totalling nearly $200. It seemed as if this was resolved. Imagine my surprise this evening when I checked to see if my refund had been posted. It had, and the the same amount was immediately withdrawn from my account by Ross-Simons of Providence, RI. They can't find a charge so I will probably have to work with my bank since this pretty much amounts to theft.
And by the way, I'm cancelling my ring order that is on backorder and going right to Amazon.
AVOID ROSS-SIMONS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND THEN TELL YOU YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT.

Avoid them!
What a fiasco! I ordered an 8" pearl bracelet in march. What arrived was a 7" bracelet in an 8" package. I called and was given a number, with instructions to put that number on the return package, which i was told to mail usps, insured. I specifically asked if i should get a signature (Registered mail) and was told that wasn't necessary. I mailed the...

I ordered what I hoped to be special aquamarine earrings for my mother's 65th birthday. When she received them, they were a completely clear stone, not a tinge of blue in them at all. When I called customer service to see what they could do, they told me I could return them. They couldn't have cared less that they sent merchandise that was completely different than pictured online. They also would not refund shipping either way, nor the gift wrap. I will never purchase from this company again!
Avoid this merchant!
Horrible Experience. Ordered a $3K Sapphire Necklace for my wife on our 10th Anniversary on 8/21. Was to ship 2day UPS. They screwed up, somehow, the shipping address. Called me to verify on the 22nd. Said it would ship out overnight on the 23rd. Didn't. Shipped out on the 24th, 2 day. We are leaving the country on our anniversary trip tomorrow. No necklace. Never got a follow up from them. Called to speak to a 'manager'. got the less than earnest apology. Would credit the meager shipping charge. I will be returning the item upon returning to US.
