Mixed Experience with SaltwaterFish: Fast Shipping, Healthy Fish, but Risk Involved
I recently bought a couple of fish from SaltwaterFish and they arrived the very next day, which was pretty impressive. The fish looked healthy and happy, so I was excited to add them to my well-established tank. I followed the instructions for acclimation and everything seemed to be going well. However, after just two weeks, my tank was in trouble. I did a complete chemical test and everything seemed fine, but my new fish had died and others were starting to look sick.
I was told that my fish had Crypto, which was a real bummer since I have coral in my tank. I did everything I could to save my other fish, including turning off all the lights and lowering the salinity, but unfortunately, it didn't work. All of my fish ended up dying.
I'm pretty sure that the ICH came from the new fish I bought from SaltwaterFish, since I hadn't introduced anything new into my tank for months. I was disappointed that I only received a store credit for the two fish I purchased, but I guess that's just tough luck.
Overall, I would say that my experience with SaltwaterFish was a mixed bag. On the one hand, the shipping was fast and the fish looked healthy when they arrived. On the other hand, they ended up causing a lot of problems in my tank and I didn't feel like the company took full responsibility for what happened. If you're thinking about buying fish from SaltwaterFish, just be aware that there's always a risk involved and make sure you're prepared to deal with any issues that might arise.
Avoid SaltwaterFish: Dead Fish and Poor Customer Service
I heard a lot of good things about SaltwaterFish, so I decided to place an order. Unfortunately, my experience was not great. When my fish arrived, they were all dead and there was barely any water in the bags. Even the invertebrates were dead, not moving at all when we put them in our tank. It's unbelievable that a service like this couldn't even provide enough water for their fish.
I reached out to them to try and resolve the issue, but all they told me was to take pictures and file an RMA. I sent in a few pictures, but instead of working with me to find a solution or give me a credit, they just said sorry, no refund because I didn't take the pictures according to their specifications. They never mentioned this when I first contacted them, so how was I supposed to dig out dead fish from the trash three days later just to take pictures that met their requirements? It's just not realistic.
I would strongly advise avoiding this service like the plague. They clearly don't care about the creatures they send or their customers. It's a shame, because I had heard such good things about them, but my experience was a complete disaster.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish.com: Missing Item and Poor Customer Service
I recently made a purchase on SaltwaterFish.com for some aquarium supplies. I was excited to receive my order, but unfortunately, when the box arrived, I noticed that one of the items was missing. I checked the packing slip and only two of the four items I ordered were listed. I was disappointed and frustrated that there was no indication of a second shipment through email or in the box.
I immediately called the customer service line and was greeted by Tristan. He was friendly and listened to my concerns. However, he informed me that management would have to handle my problem and that I should expect a call back on Monday. I waited patiently, but unfortunately, I never received a call or email from the company.
Feeling frustrated, I called back on Monday and spoke with Tristan again. He apologized for the lack of communication and informed me that management had sent a message to the shipping department to find out what happened with my missing item. Tristan was very nice and understanding, but by the end of the week, I still had not received a call or email from the company.
I paid for an item that I never received, and the lack of communication and follow-up from SaltwaterFish.com left me feeling ripped off. I was disappointed that they couldn't even have the courtesy to return my call. I will not be doing business with them again.
Overall, my experience with SaltwaterFish.com was not a positive one. While Tristan was friendly and helpful, the lack of communication and follow-up from management left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope that they can improve their customer service in the future to avoid similar situations.
SaltwaterFish Review: Livestock Quality and Store Credit Issues
I've ordered from SaltwaterFish twice now and both times I've had some trouble with the livestock. Unfortunately, about half of the creatures I ordered didn't survive the shipping process. I've got a pretty established 300 gallon reef tank that's been running for two years, so I know it's not my fault. It's just that the quality of the items being shipped isn't up to snuff.
The good news is that when things die, you get store credit. The bad news is that the store credit is kind of useless. You can't use it unless you're willing to place another big order. And if you do that, you're going to get hit with packaging and shipping charges that are around $40. So there's really no discount to be had here.
I'm not happy about this situation and I don't think anyone else should have to deal with it either. I even talked to someone named Mary on the phone and asked her to waive the system error, but she said no. It's pretty clear that they're more interested in getting new money than they are in keeping their customers happy.
I don't think SaltwaterFish is worth the trouble. The items they sell might be cheap, but in the long run, you're going to end up spending more money than you should. I hope other people don't have to go through what I did.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Dead Livestock and Poor Customer Service
I was in need of a reef light and stumbled upon SaltwaterFish (saltwaterfish.com) through a promotional offer. They were offering $100 worth of livestock for just 99 cents with a purchase of $139. I thought this was a perfect deal as I could get a light and a ton of fish at the same time. So, I placed my order and eagerly waited for my shipment.
However, I received a notification saying that only one fish had shipped. I was a bit confused but still excited to receive my order. As the shipment got closer and closer, my excitement grew until it finally arrived at 7:33 in the morning. I live only 30 minutes away from the shipment's stop in ATL, so I waited patiently for the delivery. However, the delivery never came, and I was left waiting until 4:00 in the afternoon. When I finally received my fish, they were all dead. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated.
I filed a report with SaltwaterFish, and they quickly refunded my money, which was the only positive experience I had with them. I also called them about the light I had ordered, and they finally put it through. However, they informed me that the order should have included "marine life," and the $140 light I bought didn't count towards that because it wasn't livestock. I was annoyed that they didn't inform me of this earlier, but at least they eventually resolved the issue.
This was my first time buying saltwater fish online, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. I will not be returning to SaltwaterFish in the future.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Dead Fish, Poor Customer Service, and Small Goby
I recently made a purchase from SaltwaterFish and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. I ordered a Choati Wrasse and was devastated when it arrived in a cold bag and was already dead. I immediately contacted the site and sent them photos, as they had stated that I had a 5 hour window to receive a refund. However, I did not receive a response until the following day and they only offered me a store credit instead of a refund. Although I wanted a refund, I decided to take the credit and ordered 4 Blue Spot Jawfish and a 2.5-3.25 Barred Goby with it.
When my order arrived, the Jawfish looked great, but the Goby was much smaller than I expected, measuring only about 1-3/4 inches at most. I emailed the site to explain that I had a 125 gallon tank and this size of Goby would not be enough to sift the sand in a tank this large. However, they ignored my email and I had to send 5 more before finally receiving a response. They requested that I take a photo of the fish next to a ruler to verify its size. I was frustrated because catching a small fish in a stocked 125 gallon tank is not an easy task. Despite my efforts, they ignored me again.
In the end, I decided not to fight with them over $20, but I will not be giving them any more of my business. It was disappointing to have such a negative experience with SaltwaterFish, especially since I was excited to receive my order. I hope that they can improve their customer service and quality control in the future.
Unethical Business Practices and Poor Customer Service at SaltwaterFish
I've been ordering marine fish and corals from SaltwaterFish for 8 years now, but I don't think I'll be buying from them again. I recently placed an order for two fish, but when the package arrived, I found out that they didn't have both of the fish I paid for. They called my house while I was at work and told my husband that the only replacement available for a chocolate tang was a convict tang. I didn't want a convict tang because there's a big difference in price, tank compatibility, and brilliance between the two fish. My husband asked about a refund for the fish that didn't "pass inspection," but the representative said that this was his only option. When I found out what happened, I was really upset, but the manager was rude and told me to donate the fish I didn't want to a library or school. I think this is a really unethical response and it's not a good way to do business.
The manager also told me that they call households and if someone other than the person who placed the order answers the phone, they'll make choices about replacements. They don't ask for the person who placed the order, which I think is really strange. I also paid extra to have my delivery arrive before 12pm, but it didn't arrive until close to 4pm. Some of the species were dead on arrival because the box was sitting in a hot FedEx truck for hours in Arizona in the middle of three-digit weather. I think the customer service, service in general, and guarantees have all changed. It's obvious that the staff and company don't care about the customers or making sure the livestock arrives safely. I wouldn't recommend SaltwaterFish to anyone.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: DOA Anemone, Poor Communication, and Overpriced Livestock
I recently had an experience with SaltwaterFish that left me feeling disappointed. I ordered a ritteri anemone and unfortunately, it arrived a day late and was dead. These things happen, so I reached out to the company and was told that they would reship one to me when it became available.
The following weekend, I noticed that they had ritteri anemones for sale on their website, but when I reached out to inquire about purchasing one, I was told that they didn't pass inspection. This seemed to be a common excuse, and I wasn't even contacted to be told that some were available for "inspection".
I waited patiently for ten days, keeping an eye on the website to see what they were selling. Finally, they had a WYSIWYG ritteri anemone for sale, which was two and a half times the price of the original one I had ordered. It looked good in the pictures, so I decided to order it online and pay for it.
I contacted the company to take the price of the DOA anemone off the price of the upsale one, and they graciously did so. However, on the day of shipping, I received a text saying that the anemone didn't pass inspection. They offered me another anemone, but it was on sale for $467.97, down from $719.90. The original anemone was only $95, then $259, and now this one was almost $500.
I asked if they were prepared to ship the alternative at the same price, but they only offered me a $15 discount. I declined and canceled both of my pending orders, which totaled almost $500. One contained the anemone and the other clown fish for it.
Later that evening, I was browsing other livestock sites and was extremely disappointed to find the exact WYSIWYG anemone (the high dollar one) for $50 less on another site. For all the hassle and inconvenience, SaltwaterFish still wanted to charge $35 more than another site.
I have purchased from both SaltwaterFish and the other site on many occasions, and they are comparable in quality. However, the other site always has better prices. I'm sure you can imagine who I will order from in the future, knowing they draw from the same pool.
Customer service can sometimes make the upcharge worth it, but this is definitely not the case with SaltwaterFish. I was left feeling disappointed and frustrated with my experience.
Disappointing Livestock and Customer Service: My Experience with SaltwaterFish.com
I recently had an experience with SaltwaterFish (saltwaterfish.com) that left me feeling extremely disappointed. I had seen their ads in my email and decided to give them a try since they had some items that other sites didn't sell. The website looked professional and they had a 15 day guarantee, so I felt confident in placing an order during their 4th of July sale.
However, when my shipment arrived, I was shocked to see that 4 of the bags had the darkest, dirtiest water I had ever seen! After acclimating the livestock in those bags, I inspected them and was appalled. The corals I ordered were literally rocks straight from the ocean, with other growth and hitchhikers all over them. The pictures I ordered from online were clearly nice clean frags, not nasty overrun-with-pests rocks! I did a freshwater/iodine dip, and numerous sea spiders, various worms etc came off. While the 2 feather dusters I ordered seemed healthy, they also came in that same nasty water, so I have kept them in quarantine as well. Additionally, 4 of the 10 nassarius snails were DOA, which I didn't even complain about; the Emerald Crab I ordered is white with gray spots, and clearly not emerald (didn't complain about that either); the 4 green leg hermits I ordered were supposed to be under 1/2 inch, and were each 2 to 3 inches.
I immediately initiated refund/RMA, and explained my dissatisfaction. I also included photos of what I received compared to their thumbnails of what I had ordered. The site says they will respond within 3 days. On day 4 I sent an email complaining they had not resolved my issue. She replied and apologized that the crabs were too big issued me a whopping $5.99 refund for the crabs, and gave me the following response about the corals:
"The photos we provide show these corals fully open. The corals you received would look similar if given the chance to live... with proper care and lighting. Did you throw them out, where are they now? Also, the feather dusters are alive and well. Why are they being claimed? -Mary-"
I told her I was well aware of the lighting and corals, and the issue was that I had received nasty rocks from the ocean with pests all over, not nice little frags like they advertised to be sending. I also told her they were being humanely kept in a quarantine tank until she sent return authorization.
Her Response: "The photos provided are a representation of the species. Sizes and color variations, etc are noted in the description of each item, as each item is unique. You didn't purchase frags, you purchased full size corals which are collected legally from the ocean. They are attached to rock and the rock will have sediment. Please feel free to review the description of each item. The Green Star Polyps for example are collected from Indonesia. Our EIBI area shows the exact item being shipped and has more of the aqua-cultured frag corals. While you are entitled to your opinion, we have not misrepresented our marine life and I am sure the issue is more relevant to what was expected."
I have attached a photo of what I received in some cleaner water that I acclimated them to. While the feathers look healthy, they were also in that nasty water, and I'm afraid they have parasites. The thumbnails are from the website, and are what I naively thought I was ordering, but apparently according to Mary, are only a "representation of what I might be shipped."
Overall, I would not recommend SaltwaterFish. The quality of the livestock I received was extremely poor, and their customer service was lacking. I was disappointed that they did not take responsibility for their mistake and instead tried to blame me for not reading the descriptions carefully enough. I will not be ordering from them again.
Unhappy with SaltwaterFish.com: Misleading Free Shipping Policy & Unhealthy Corals
I was so excited when I first stumbled upon SaltwaterFish.com a few weeks ago. I had been searching for a Malaysian torch coral for a long time and finally found it on their site. I immediately placed an order for the torch coral, along with a scoly and a frag of bernardpora, so that I could qualify for free shipping and get a few cool frags added into the same order. However, when the package arrived and I opened the box, I knew right away that the torch coral wasn't going to make it. I called the customer service team right away and let them know before even taking the coral out of the bag. We agreed that I would give it a chance in the system to see if maybe it would be able to bounce back.
After a couple of days, I knew that I would be filing a DOA claim on my account because I was able to see some brown jelly happening in between the head and the stalk of the coral due to the tissue being totally gone around the head where it meets the stalk. That's actually how I knew it didn't stand a chance when it arrived because it had shown up that way right out of the package all of the tissue was totally gone. I understand that this can happen from time to time when ordering corals online, especially when dealing with SPS/LPS corals going through the shipping process. That's a lot of stress on some corals and it's just something you have to accept will happen once in a while when you do shop for live stock online.
I had two customer service workers help me through the process so that way I knew that I was handling the situation the right way. They were both very polite and responsive to all of my questions and emails. Even on Saturday and Sunday, I was getting fast responses to my emails. They did end up giving me that amount of money back that I spent on that torch as store credit so I was happy it all went well. I recently just decided to use that money to buy 3 corals that I saw in the WYSIWYG section of the site because it seems they do have some great prices corals added there very often so I was excited to place the order and give the site another shot.
So keep in mind my original order for the torch I wanted I purposely spent enough money to guarantee myself the free shipping (which at check out you are still charged and other 15 dollars for packaging fees so?). But anyway on this new order placed between the money refunded to myself and the money I was spending on the other corals I added into the new order I was happy to know I would receive free shipping again as well! I did it that way on purpose again because it just makes more sense to do things that way rather than paying for the shipping and packaging fees because chances are it would end up around that same price anyway when it's all said and done.
I filled out the information in the check out and selected the option to use the money added into my account and on the final step of the checkout it says "you only need to spend another $145.00 dollars to receive free shipping" that made no sense because the money on the account for my refund was already $120.00 and with the 2 other corals added to that second order I was definitely over the $175.00 spent for the free shipping. So after reading a bit I saw that the $120.00 I had gotten refunded to my account does not count towards free shipping? ID STILL HAVE TO SPEND ANOTHER $175.00 ON TOP OF THAT AMOUNT FOR FREE SHIPPING!
So let me get this straight for anyone checking this out. You buy corals from their and they send out an unhealthy one that literally is practically dead before even getting into your tank. You made sure to spend the amount to get the free shipping and pay for the additional 15$ box fee during that first purchase. They refund you the money THAT YOU LOST EXCEPT THAT MONEY NOW DOES NOT COUNT AS YOUR OWN MONEY BEING SPENT WHEN ADDING TO A NEW ORDER TO REPLACE THE DEAD CORAL THAT SHOWED UP TO YOUR HOME. They basically treat it as a gift from their company or so teething apparently?! But no it's not it's money I worked for and spent with you. I didn't ship the unhealthy coral to myself you guys did that all I did was choose to shop with you and spend MY MONEY WITH YOU.
I made sure to spend enough for the free shipping the first time around and still go on to find out I had to pay for a "box fee" another $15 bucks and then I'm held responsible and have to do all of that over again when I get an unhealthy coral shipped to my home? That's not right AT ALL AND I WAS NEVER TOLD ANY OF THIS INFORMATION OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE MONEY ADDED STRAIGHT BACK INTO MY CARD AND NEVER SHOPPED WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN! I'm very upset that this is considered to be okay to do. Their are much better companies to shop with that have much better shipping prices and still have great prices on corals as well as shipping prices?
Never again will I be back to your site even if this next order has another dead coral in it I will get my money back TO MY CARD IN MY OWN POSSESSION BEFORE I GIVE IT BACK TO YOU! Shipping fees to my home from you guys are $36.00 and on top of that they make you pay the packaging fee another $15.00 bucks that's $51.00 in shipping and not one penny of the 120 I spent with your company was put towards those charges. You still expected me to pay the full 175$ on top of the 120 I spent and LOST THW FIRST TIME AROUND! Ridiculous and so wrong to do business this way and I completely changed my mind on how I feel about your company. Not cool at all considering I'm the one who lost out the first time. It was your fault I even had to place a second order. If the first had gone right I would have just been happy and left things at that. I will never take that chance with you guys again. For all I know you probably want a coral to die because that just guarantees you another 200 bucks the second time around. Screw that! Never again will I do business with you and I don't suggest anyone else even takes the chance. Their are much better companies with much better policies.

Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Sick Fish with No Warranty
I bought 4 fish from SaltwaterFish and unfortunately, 2 of them arrived very skinny and sick with ich. It was a real bummer because I have a beautiful purple tang that's about 6 inches and 10 years old, and now it has ich too. All of my other fun fish are sick as well. It's tough to catch them because I have a lot of rock in my tank.
I was disappointed that this company sent out sick fish with no warranty. It's not fair to the fish or the customer. Sadly, all of the fish I purchased from SaltwaterFish have died and I'm worried that my old fish will die soon too.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's a real shame because I was excited to add some new fish to my tank. I wish I could rate them -5 stars, but I can only give them 1 star.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Entire Order Arrived Dead and No Refund Given
I recently purchased some fish and coral from SaltwaterFish and unfortunately, my entire order arrived dead. I had ordered two polyps, a dragonet, and an orange bubble. Despite following the instructions and submitting a DOA request, the company did not honor their guarantee and refused to refund my money. Mary, the owner, even claimed that the bubble was still alive, but I know the difference between a dead and live anemone as I have several of them myself. Additionally, the two polyps were not even attached to the plug and the fish were covered in slime and clearly deceased.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience with SaltwaterFish and would not recommend them to anyone. It is unacceptable to receive an entire order of dead animals and then not receive a refund, especially when the company claims to have a guarantee. I hope that they improve their shipping and customer service practices in the future to prevent this from happening to others.
SaltwaterFish.com: Dishonorable Policies and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a similar experience to some of the other folks who've left reviews here. I ordered some fish from SaltwaterFish.com and unfortunately, they arrived dead on arrival. I mean, I get it, they're shipping live animals and using FedEx, so there's always going to be some risk involved. But what really got me was that they only offered me store credit for my losses, and then I had to pay $40 in shipping just to use it! Like, what's the point of a guarantee if you have to spend five times the amount of money you lost just to get it back?
And to make matters worse, they wouldn't even waive the shipping fee to replace my losses. They wanted me to spend $100 just to redeem a $14 credit! I mean, come on, that's just ridiculous. Their policy is a total joke, and I refuse to do business with companies that have no honor. I suggest you do the same and shop elsewhere. These guys are full of it.

Buyer Beware: My Experience with This Fish Website Was a Total Ripoff!
This website is a total ripoff! I ordered some fish and they arrived dead. When I contacted them about it, they said they have a guarantee, but when I asked for a replacement, they said that's not how it works. They only give you a credit, but by the time you use it, it doesn't even cover the cost of shipping on your next order. And then, when they ship the replacement fish, they arrive dead again! And when I asked for another credit, they said it's against their policy. They have no problem shipping dead fish multiple times, but they only give you one credit. I lost almost $100 on this site. Don't waste your money here!
Terrible Experience with SaltwaterFish: Unfulfilled Promises and Dead Fish
I had a really bad experience with SaltwaterFish. They said they couldn't give me the fish I wanted, and they promised to refund me for one of the fish in my order. But I still haven't seen the refund. They sent me the other two fish anyway, and I couldn't change my order, so I had to pay full shipping even though I only got part of my order. When the fish arrived, one of them was dead. I didn't have time to report it until 5 hours after delivery, so they said they would only give me store credit. It was a really terrible experience. These people are thieves.
Mixed Experience with SaltwaterFish: Proceed with Caution
I've had some experience with SaltwaterFish and I have to say, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I've ordered from them twice now, and unfortunately, both times I've had some issues with the fish arriving dead. It's a real shame, because I was really excited to add some new fish to my tank, but it seems like the quality of the fish and the way they're prepared and shipped just isn't up to par.
Now, I should mention that I've been keeping saltwater fish for over twenty years, so I'm not exactly a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I've got a pretty good handle on what it takes to keep fish healthy and happy, and I've even got some fish in my tank that I've had for over fifteen years. So, I don't think it's a problem with my tank or my setup - it really does seem like it's an issue with the fish themselves.
That being said, I have had some success with SaltwaterFish in the past. I've gotten some really beautiful fish from them that have thrived in my tank and added a lot of color and personality to the mix. But unfortunately, those successes have been few and far between, and I've had more than my fair share of disappointments.
So, all in all, I would say that if you're thinking about ordering from SaltwaterFish, you should proceed with caution. There's definitely a chance that you'll get some great fish that will do well in your tank, but there's also a chance that you'll end up with a bunch of dead fish and a lot of frustration. Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk - there are plenty of other fish suppliers out there that have a better track record and are more reliable. So, my advice would be to do your research and choose wisely!
Disappointing Experience with Saltwaterfish.com: Poor Order Fulfillment and Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with saltwaterfish.com. I ordered some fish from them and they messed up my order not once, but twice! I mean, come on, how hard is it to get an order right? And to make matters worse, the fish they shipped out were in terrible condition. One of the bags even leaked and the poor fish was dead on arrival.
But the real kicker was their customer service. I was on hold for over 30 minutes and when I finally got through, I was hung up on! And when I did manage to talk to someone, they were so rude about the whole thing. I mean, I get it, mistakes happen, but the way they treated me was just unacceptable.
I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Sorry saltwaterfish.com, but you really need to step up your game. Treat your customers with respect and make sure you're shipping out healthy fish. I won't be ordering from you again.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Sickly Fish and Poor Refund Policy
I recently made a purchase from SaltwaterFish and spent a lot of money on it. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up my fish from Fedex, they looked very sickly. I was hoping that they would recover, but the next day they all died. I was very disappointed, but SaltwaterFish did give me store credit for my loss. I decided to give them another chance and made a second purchase. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again. All of the fish I received were sickly and died shortly after.
Just the other day, I received another shipment from SaltwaterFish and was disappointed to find that one of the fish was dead on arrival. I quickly reported it to the company, as they have a policy that if you report a dead fish within 5 hours of receiving it, they will issue a refund. However, I was only refunded $19 for a fish that cost me $28. I feel like they are purposely poisoning the fish so that customers have to keep buying from them.
Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience with SaltwaterFish and will not be using their site again. It is frustrating to spend so much money on fish, only to have them all die shortly after receiving them. I would not recommend this site to anyone looking to purchase saltwater fish.
SaltwaterFish.com: A Disappointing Experience for a Nonprofit Aquarium
This company is the absolute worst! I recently set up an aquarium for a nonprofit organization, specifically the Boys and Girls Club, to teach the kids about conservation, protection, and the ecosystem of the ocean's reef. I decided to order some fish from SaltwaterFish.com, but boy was that a mistake!
When the animals arrived, FedEx left them overnight and they didn't get sent out until the following day. This is a huge problem because it puts the animals' lives at risk. But SaltwaterFish.com didn't seem to care. They thought it was okay to acclimate the fish and send them out the next day.
I was furious and called to complain. I asked them not to send the fish overnight and requested compensation for the delay. But instead of trying to make things right, they canceled my order, refused to give me a refund, and even banned the Boys and Girls Club from ordering from them again!
Can you believe that? I had to report the issue to my bank and thankfully they were on the side of the Boys and Girls Club. It's just so disappointing that a company would treat their customers like this, especially when it's for a good cause.
I would never recommend SaltwaterFish.com to anyone. They clearly don't care about the well-being of their animals or their customers. Stay far away from this company if you want to avoid any headaches or heartaches.
Disappointing Experience with SaltwaterFish: Poor Packaging, Dirty Water, and Frustrating Customer Service
I recently made a purchase from SaltwaterFish, and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered some crabs, snails, and a fish, and when the package arrived, it was a scorching 110 degrees outside. I had read on their website that they checked the weather before shipping, but it seemed like they didn't take that into account at all. When I opened the box, it was like a sauna in there, and all of the crabs and snails were cooked upon arrival. It was a real shame, because I was looking forward to having them in my tank.
To make matters worse, the fish arrived in dirty, swamp-like water, and despite my best efforts to save it, it died just two days later. I was really disappointed with the quality of the packaging and the care that was taken with my order. It seemed like they were more interested in getting my money than making sure that the animals I ordered arrived safely and in good condition.
When I contacted customer service to complain, it took me three days of arguing to get them to give me store credit for everything. While I appreciate that they eventually did the right thing, it was frustrating to have to fight so hard for it. And now that I'm trying to use up the credit, I'm finding that there's no free shipping unless I order double the amount, and they're charging $10 more for packaging. It feels like they're trying to nickel and dime me at every turn.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience with SaltwaterFish. While their prices are only slightly higher than Live Aquaria, the quality of their products and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I'll be clearing out my account and taking my business elsewhere in the future.
dead fish
I have ordered several fishes from www.saltwaterfish.com and when I received them they all were dead!
I contacted customer service right away and demanded my money back but they claimed I was lying! They said that it was not possible and refused to refund my money!
I'll never order anything from them again because I'm afraid that this kind of thing might happen again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
