My husband and I are extremely frustrated and disappointed with this resort. We were on vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada, when we were approached by the representative and lured into attending a presentation with the promise of free dinner, slot machine vouchers, and a free week trip to Universal Studios.
During the presentation, we were promised a timeshare with the ability to travel worldwide at a discounted rate. However, it soon became apparent that this was different. The meeting was supposed to last no more than an hour, but every time we attempted to leave, we were pressured to stay longer. As a result, we felt trapped and coerced into signing a contract.
To make matters worse, we were unable to use the timeshare due to the lack of availability and our lack of knowledge about yearly fees. We soon discovered that the costs were excessive and far beyond what we could afford. It quickly became clear that we had made a grave mistake in signing the contract.
Upon returning home from our vacation, we carefully reviewed our contract and realized that we had been misled and taken advantage of by Sapphire Resorts/Jockey Club/GEO Holiday. We contacted the resort to cancel the agreement, but they refused, stating that we could only be released if we paid all the fees in full.
We strongly feel that we were taken advantage of by the deceptive marketing tactics, putting unassuming customers like us under duress to sign contracts they do not fully understand. We advise that you take the time to ask questions and read the fine print. You are definitely being fooled by these salespeople.
Desired outcome: Cancel the timeshare contract immediately.
