I did NOT enjoy spending my time or money for my "photoshoot" with Sarah Cabrera-Hernandez. She claims that she has been doing makeup and photos for "years" and that she is "self-taught" but after my actual experience with her, I see that she has a lot of learning to do. She piled on heavy layers of makeup on my face (WHICH LATER CAUSED ME TO BREAK OUT INTO A RASH) and when I got home, my husband was really upset and disappointed becuase my face looked like it was MELTING off. During the shoot, she would pose me like she has many of the other, MUCH THINNER, clients in various uncomfortable and "[censored]-like" poses claiming each time that they were going to be "great". It was obvious to me that she does not know what she is doing and even worse, she is claiming to be both a photographer and a makeup artist who can "make anyone beautiful" when instead she should advertise that she can ONLY make anyone look like a [censored]. You can also tell that she does not edit all of her clients the same, and is selective about who she actually wants to do a good job for. But my biggest complaint is that she did not take the time to actually consider what I wanted and CONSULT me, her client. Her "studio" is actually a revamped attic and the girl who did my hair even complained about her work. Sarah does what SHE wants and the CLIENT has to pay for her "vision".
AFTER RESEARCH, SARAH CABRERA-HERNANDEZ IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER OR A LICENSED MAKE-UP ARTIST. NO ONE SIGNS CONTRACTS AND SHE DOES NOT DELETE HER CLIENTS PHOTOS OR GET PERMISSION TO USE THE IMAGES.
SARAH CABRERA HERNANDEZ DOES NOT SHOW VERSATILITY IN HER WORK AND ALL OF HER MODELS ARE SHOT IN THE SAME LOCATIONS WITH THE SAME POSES.
BUYER BEWARE.

I was not happy with my photos. It was clear Sarah did not spend as much time editing my pictures. And whenI printed them, the colors were off. I will not return or recommend this place to friends.
sh**********t! i wish i had also come across these reviews before i wasted my time and money. listen up ladies if you follow these simple guidelines you won't be disappointed-
1. know that if you are NOT personally friends with her your pictures won't be that good.
2. tell her nothing more than your first name, don't offer up any additional info.
3. you're going to get ripped off.
4. know that if you do tell her personal info she will eventually talk [censored] about you to other clients.

I am astonished to read the reviews on this site! I google'd Sarah after seeing a friend's photos on her myspace account and saw that this was the first link that came up. I am pretty disappointed to see how unprofessional she is and after getting some more background from my friend, I am sure I will not be using her service. Napa is a very small town and word travels quickly, if you want to call yourself a professional, you should really shut your mouth before you get run out!
I thought about booking a shoot with her, but after I did some research and compared her to PROFESSIONAL artists, many issues were brought to my attention. She claims to be a professional and that she has been doing make-up for over 13 years, yet she doesn't have her degree/license, in neither photography nor cosmetology? So she is basically stealing your money to support her hobby..? Which she has not perfected, many of the girls on her website are unrecognizeable! The amount that she asks for is completely unheard of. IF she had gone to school, and was actually certified in either, THEN it might be acceptable to charge people the obscenely amount that she does (and she might actually know how to use photoshop). If I were to pay for a high-priced photoshoot with anyone, I would expect high-quality prints as well, not digital copies from facebook. Real photographers charge as much as they do because they give you prints of your photos. Why should I spend my hard earned money on second-rate quality? Taken as whole, all SCH is and will ever be is a mediocre con-artist.
All those kiss-[censor] comments are probably her friends.

Just for the record, ALL the kiss [censor] comments ARE from her so-called friends, although I know for a fact that some of them no longer feel the same way as they did when they wrote nice things. She has ruined relationships with people with her mouth and her inability to shut up. She talks about clients to other clients and about her family problems to 19-20 year olds expecting them not to spread the word and understand what she is going through. GROW UP SARAH! You are looking more and more pathetic by the minute!
I can atest to the fact that I am personally one of those people who has changed my way of thinking when it comes to SCH. Napa is a very small town so I knew her for awhile before I booked an appointment with her. I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but it was the same situation as alot of other clients. Sara was running behind, her place was a mess, she wasn't prepared for me when I got there, she was distracted, she talked alot of smack about people I knew and rushed my shoot because she was tired. The few pics that I did get from her weren't the best. I had heard that if you were friends with her or booked alot of shoots she would spend the neccessary amount of time on them when editing, and since I wasn't good friends with her I guess my pictures weren't that important to her. But, if people are spending money for her services they should be treated equal. To top things off it got back to me that she had run her mouth about me to a couple of her other clients, who just happened to be friends of mine. Ladies don't fool yourselves, if you have booked a shoot with her don't be suprised when you find out she's talked smack about you too. She is a miserable person with a miserable life who makes herself feel better by talking bad about other people.
Sarah can talk about other people but can't take the criticism herself! If you want the best gossip about anyone she knows, just book an appointment. But when she talks about people, just remember that she is married to a piece of crap who cheats and has random children all over the place and who considers her 18 year old sister her "best friend" because no one else can stand her for long periods of time. She is miserable and she deserves what she asks for. If you hire her for services, just know that she will talk about you to her family, friends, and anyone else that will listen because she is immature and ostentatious! Everyone smiles in your face but we all know what you are made of SCH. Stop running your mouth and do what you are paid to do.
SCH Studios is complete crap.sarah is as unprofessional an immature as you can get. she need to stop using photography as a way of making friends. act your age!
I personally know Sara and I have to agree that her prices are a bit over the top for the amount of work that she actually does. I think she is realizing that she is not going to stay in business much longer if she doesn't reduce her prices and offer more photos than what she typically gives her clients. This site has definitely upset her enough to force her to rethink her prices and offer what she refers to as "specials" and I hate to admit it but I agree with many of the comments about her lack of professionalism and maturity. Sara, for your own sake, come back down to reality and take a good look at how youve been running yoru business. People are starting to see the real you and as you can see they don't like it. Change your ways before no one is left to defend you.
I see Sarah around town and she is sooooo obnoxious! She wears these huge glasses and walks around with her nose in the air when in fact she is probably one of the most filthy people in town! Her new work is complete crap. She makes decent looking girls look like vampire tranny's and she claims it is "inspired by other artists." I sure hope they didn't have to pay for those picutres. And when she says "other" does this mean she thinks that piling loads of makeup on people for hundreds of dollars makes her a artist to? Get off your high horse and stop proclaiming to be a professional artist, photographer and MUA! You are overly confident for mediocre work! I can't wait until the SCH fad goes out of style like her glasses!
Sara and Also are frauds! She claims to be a MUA and professional photographer with no license and Aldo acts like he is a pro MMA instructor and fighter without ever being in a fight. Everytime I see them come into my store, I just smile and shake my head. They are pretty pathetic.
I had my photos taken awhile ago and I was hesitant to write a comment on this site. During my appointment, Sarah seemed nice and welcoming. i didn't know her prior to my appointment other than from fb but I have a few friends that know who she is. I wear makeup regularly but she did use quite a bit more product than I am typically used to I guess for effect. I took advantage of one of her "specials" and was hoping to take some great photographs. Instead, I feel like she rushed through them and I am disappointed with what I got. It was obvious that she did not spend as much time on detail with my pictures and to make matters worse, I don't feel like I can approach her about my dissatistfaction after reading this site. I will not be using this service again.

If Sarah ever says she is "sick" or her family is "sick", that is just her lame excuse for sitting on her lazy [censor] and not getting your photos done in the time she promised. Im sick of people telling her she's one of the hardest working people they know. Really? Then you MUST not know Sarah! LMAO!

Anybody notice how the "specials" keep getting extended? LMFAO!Don't let her fool you with the makeup she buys, shes not a MAC artist and she won't ever be. She applied a few years ago to a MAC counter that my cousin worked at and they denied her because they knew she was unprofessional and had no real professional references. Shes a fraud. Just because you know how to play with makeup doesnt make you a pro!
The next time Sarah feels the need to talk about someone's life, body, or family she needs to take a good long look in the mirror and look at her damn self!
Sarah's having an "Art Show" that I am going to at Amanda's salon (voodoo). I think it's ironic that she doesn't work with more stylists at Shine, but it's probably because they want to protect their reputation and not be connected to her. I can't wait to see how many people go to show "support" when most are talking as much [censor] about her as she does of them. She's going to cake on that makeup and act like she's so grateful for the support when all she wants is your money! I always have fun watching Sarah put on a show for the crowd, can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

What a joke is right. This is the bulls**t email you get back when you "inquire" for a photoshoot. If you know Sarah, you know that she does not charge the people who she is "friends" with these outrageous prices! And if you read her bio, it's all fabricated! She is a fraud, not a professional- no license because you don't need one? What this means is that she spends her money on makeup and plays with it on her sister and herself and claims that she has over 13 years experience. After seeing these prices, it makes sense why most of her "clinets" are high school kids with their student ID- discount! LMFAO! And take a look where it says she ONLY gives you a CD of the images! WTF!? She is a thief! Can't WAIT to see what she does at her "art show" to rob more people. Is the money really going to a girl with cancer?
Sarah started by attending Vintage Academy of Hair and Design. Because makeup artists do not need a license, just experience, Sarah is proud to say she has over 13 years of experience with makeup and over 4 years of experience with photography. She also does all of her own editing. Whether you're coming in for beauty shots, senior portraits, family portraits, maternity or baby pictures, Sarah always delivers unique and quality photographs for you. Because she does not style hair, she works with different, very talented hairstylists. Also part of the team is Holly Neal of "Holly Neal Makeup". She's an awesome addition and we are all lucky to have her! All SarahCHStudios team members meet the high quality standards Sarah finds so very important to ensure you leave your session happy!
SarahHCStudios offers several different types of shoots, they are:
-FUN SHOOT- (LIMITED TO ONLY 1 PERSON)
Offering for a short time- fun and creative shoots at a discounted rate of only $150 per person, the catch is that Sarah gets to decide themes, poses, colors, etc. You get your make-up done and two edited images on a disc. Please know that hair styling is not included. You should allow 1½ hours for this shoot.
-APRIL SPECIAL- (NOW OFFERED ANYTIME)
This special was originally intended to be for April ONLY, but it was such a hit that we decided to offer it permanently! It's $300 for your hair and makeup to be done, one outfit (provided by you) and three fully edited pictures on a disc. Please set aside 2 hours for this shoot.
-BASIC SHOOT-
If you're looking to book a basic shoot without hair or makeup included, you would just pay a sitting fee of $50 per person. The rest depends on how many images you want to purchase. We charge $50 for each edited image that will be burnt to a disc for you. When booking your appointment you do need to know the number of images you want so we can determine the amount of your deposit as well as the amount of time to allow for your appointment.
-DELUXE SHOOT-
Like the ‘April Special’ this shoot includes a hair stylist, makeup and a shoot. All clients must provide all their own clothes and this shoot allows you to make two outfit changes. You get five high resolution photos with premium editing on a disc. This package is $500 and takes about 3 hours in the studio.
-FULL SHOOT-
The charge is $700 for one person and $850 for two...that includes a hair stylist, your makeup done and your shoot. Again all clients provide their own clothes and this shoot allows you to make three outfit changes. You get ten high resolution photos with premium editing on a disc. Please allow 3½ hours for this shoot.
-GROUP SHOOTS- (3 PEOPLE AND MORE)
Anything you book for three or more is considered a group shoot. The group shoots cost $275 per person and includes hair styling, makeup and the shoot. All of our clients are required to provide all their own clothes and this shoot allows you to make two outfit changes. You will get ten high resolution photos with premium editing on a disc. Doing hair and makeup for the large number of people takes time so please allow 5 to 6 hours.
-MATERNITY SHOOT-
Choose from the Basic Shoot, Deluxe Shoot, or Full Shoot. There is an additional sitting fee of $50 to include a boyfriend/husband.
*MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION*
We do not offer prints. A CD of your images will be provided to you.
Shoots are not limited to the studio. If you prefer outdoor locations, please let us know.
Make-up only application is available for $85. Those with a current middle school or high school ID card will receive a $20 discount on make-up only appointments.

Art Show was wack and Sarah is a *****
Too many fake [censor] people including the artist. The highlight of the show was seeing her models in person and how much photoshop and makeup it took to make them hot!
umm hello! "show" was a complete joke, just like sarah. actually, it was embarassing. and as far as the "models" go, all i can say is WOW! they look nothing (in person) like they do in their sch pics. that's got to be depressing for them?
It was depressing for ME! This wasn't an "Art Show" this was another pathetic attempt for Sarah to have people inflate her fat head! She DOES NOT look like her photos and neither do her models! GAG! Whats worse is that her greasy husband was walking around joking and snapping pictures riding on her coattails like hes somebody when he was really checking out all the ladies while Sarah lingered around acting like she was so "sick" but we caught them stuffing their faces with fast food later that night! lmfao!
Sarah is trying to recreate other photographers work! She isn't original or breaking new ground with her work or her makeup skills. She just copies what she sees on television and the internet! You AREN'T an artist, your a copycat! Your port looks like a sad attempt to steal from TRUE artists like Alvarado or the REAL Sara C. Hernandez MUA, which by far you will never be. With your poor reviews and lack of professionalism, you will not make it far in this business.
Well Sarah, you've managed to lose a couple more "fans" today. For a long time now I have defended your vision and work to alot of people who seem to talk bad about it. The final straw was your imature rant on Facebook about "small minded pinheaded ignorants". Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and just because they don't agree with every little thing that you do does NOT make them ignorant. Posting words like that only makes YOU look bad. I'm so disappointed in your lack of professionalism, especially when you're friend requesting 13 yr olds like my daughter. You have become a perfect example of how not to handle certain situations and how not to run a business. Reputation is key to being successful, especially in a small town. And what I'm beginning to see is that you have a bad one.
I am just now running across this site and am dismayed by what I am reading. It is your random "rants" that cause people like me to look on this site and to speak poorly of you even more than they already do, and it is clear that these things bother you. However, I find it difficult to defend your work or your character when your immaturity is displayed all across face book. People are entitled to their opinions and furthermore, they are not "ignorant" because they don't like your work. You are the person who looks ignorant with your foul language and need to name call to defend yourself. And I agree that people who hire you are looking for this "style" of work, but your need to preach about what people look like in magazines in comparison to what you do is ridiculous! Editing is essential in photography, however, after attending your art show and seeing both you and these "models" face to face, it is disappointing to see what you are perpetuating with your "style." These very natural and young girls turn to you with their flaws and rather than embracing them, you have manipulated their faces and bodies to the point that they have become unrecognizable, further encouraging them that what God has blessed them with is not beautiful! Even your own photos of you with clients are clearly manipulated given that you are not as "slender" as you are making yourself out to be. Magazines have done this for years and you feel that it is a good idea to continue the craze with our younger generations? And now you are "featuring" horror shoots that just glorify suicide and death and yet you are a mother of young children. Rather than seeking comfort on face book through these superficial "friends" try looking at yourself and what you are teaching your own children and rethink the direction you are going with your business. You still have a lot of growing up to do and a long way to go. Good luck on your journey.

She is looking for attention and controversy to get on the map! I think it's hilarious how everyone tells her how "artistic" she is or what a "good person" she is but they won't say it to her face that she looks like a fool posting blogs about how she blocked a "former friend" because she had "negative things to say." I agree. What a simple life we lead that Sarah's groupies can rant about the injustice that fb is initiating upon poor sweet Sarah, Half of them yelling from the tops of their lungs about banning fb or even writing mark zuckerburg.
