I did NOT enjoy spending my time or money for my "photoshoot" with Sarah Cabrera-Hernandez. She claims that she has been doing makeup and photos for "years" and that she is "self-taught" but after my actual experience with her, I see that she has a lot of learning to do. She piled on heavy layers of makeup on my face (WHICH LATER CAUSED ME TO BREAK OUT INTO A RASH) and when I got home, my husband was really upset and disappointed becuase my face looked like it was MELTING off. During the shoot, she would pose me like she has many of the other, MUCH THINNER, clients in various uncomfortable and "[censored]-like" poses claiming each time that they were going to be "great". It was obvious to me that she does not know what she is doing and even worse, she is claiming to be both a photographer and a makeup artist who can "make anyone beautiful" when instead she should advertise that she can ONLY make anyone look like a [censored]. You can also tell that she does not edit all of her clients the same, and is selective about who she actually wants to do a good job for. But my biggest complaint is that she did not take the time to actually consider what I wanted and CONSULT me, her client. Her "studio" is actually a revamped attic and the girl who did my hair even complained about her work. Sarah does what SHE wants and the CLIENT has to pay for her "vision".
AFTER RESEARCH, SARAH CABRERA-HERNANDEZ IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER OR A LICENSED MAKE-UP ARTIST. NO ONE SIGNS CONTRACTS AND SHE DOES NOT DELETE HER CLIENTS PHOTOS OR GET PERMISSION TO USE THE IMAGES.
SARAH CABRERA HERNANDEZ DOES NOT SHOW VERSATILITY IN HER WORK AND ALL OF HER MODELS ARE SHOT IN THE SAME LOCATIONS WITH THE SAME POSES.

Who is Sarah trying to fool with all her comments about being a proud mom? So she has a 16 year old? Now it makes more sense why she is so effing immature and talks about everyone behind there back.
Why do you idiots think that there is only one "hater" on Sarah's FB page?And why does nobody see that this is yet another pathetic attempt for Sarah to generate buzz in Napa that isn't focused on her childish behavior, her [censor] talking or her cheating greasy husband? It's not JUST 1 person who "hates" Sarah, there are plenty of us who enjoy watching Sarah show her [censor] on fb. Now she is threatening this "person" and trying to call them out, getting all her makeup wearing addicts running to defend her honor? And trust me, the "competition" is doing exactly what they should be doing- focusing on getting the work done and allowing the work to speak for itself, not filling the walls of all their fans with garbage trying to gain sympathy and friendship. SCH, when it comes to class, you have none. Get back to work and instead of trying to locate just one "hater" on your list of friends, read all your comments and see how much more ridiculous your "clients" make you look- as if that was possible.
All the reporting and controversy that Sarah is experiencing is an example of the poor business and professionalism that she exhibits. When you act like a child, so do the people you attract. Sarah, I think your work is good, not great and that is most likely due to your inability to act your age. All your relentless blog's about the small injustices that have been done to you and the childish commentators that respond make your site look cheap and frankly not worth the dollars you charge. Youre embarrassing yourself while making the residents of Napa as well as its business owners look bad.

You are not fooling anyone with your sad attempts to get more attention! Frankly, you are a idiot and are probably reporting you own images. Get a life and stop trying to get everyone to live in your pathetic world.
If anyone has visited Sarah's page recently, you can see some before/after shots of some of her more "attractive" clientele. After seeing that, it is evident that her "specials" are the best way to go since the work put into these edited photos aren't worth the hundreds she charges. if anyone has ever used photoshop or even the free editing software out there like gimp you would know that what she does should only take minutes, not hours. as for her makeup, get a magazine and some grocery store makeup and play with it. Her bio even says that she is not formally trained so you are paying professional prices for unlicensed work. she is always running "specials" so there is really no need to pay top dollar for the work she does. the worst part is that she keeps your original images and does what she wants with them afterwards. from what i've been told she likes to talk about people with her friends as she edits them so beware of her "implied" shots if you don't want the whole town to see your cellulite.

If you take your modeling seriously than you should be willing to make a smart investment in some quality images.

Has anyone seen her self portraits? Sara edits her OWN photos to the point where they are unrecognizable! She does NOT look like that in person! She even edits her own NECK! LMFAO! And after reading some of these other posts, I see that she is a compulsive liar too? I guess anyone can call themselves a "photographer" these days.

Sarah, did you have a good time editing yourself for hours while your paying customers have to sit and wait? I know sooooo many people who have gone to this woman for pictures/makeup/etc and she may have been professional at one time but that person is not the one you would meet today. I have heard nothing but bad things about this woman. She is UNLICENSED and UNSCHOOLED which by itself makes it against the law for her to be applying makeup to anybody and she has become sloppier and more unprofessional as time goes by. She takes weeks to edit and send you your pics while promising they will be done within a few days to a week and does not offer any compensation or even an apology, but instead is very rude and will turn to her Facebook business page in a heartbeat to bash anyone who dares question her professionalism. Here is a post that Sarah herself put on her Facebook business page when someone reported one of her images for being inappropriate: "Yet again, image reported and I can't post for 30 days. And to the person on my friends list that is no doubt reading this because you have NO life, you made my day. But one day when you're locked in your padded cell at the State Hospital with a thorazine drip and you look back on your meaningfull life, I hope it was worth it..." DOES THIS SOUND LIKE SOMETHING A PROFESSIONAL MAKE UP ARTIST AND PHOTOGRAPHER WOULD POST ON THEIR PAGE? Not only does Sarah like to bash her clients behind their backs but she does not regularly clean her brushes or applicators! It does not take "talent" to photoshop and edit someone to the point of being unrecognizable. For example, my best friend is the type of person who turns heads when she walks into a room because she is so completely gorgeous. When she did a shoot for Sarah, the pictures came out ridiculous looking! Her nose had been replaced by a michael jackson nose and her body didnt resemble the gorgeous female I knew at all. Sarah is becoming more and more well known for rescheduling clients numerous times, showing up late, canceling appointments less than an hour before the appointment time... I personally know someone who was rescheduled three times and had her first two appointments canceled by Sarah when she was already in the car driving to the appointment. And now it looks like her husband will be joining the "family business". Yay! Yet another person who is "self-taught" and unlicensed/uncertified and unschooled offering pictures. What the woman who wrote the original comment said about the "whorish" poses is true. Sarah has a lack of creativity when it comes to having her clients pose. If you are not thin, or cannot be photoshopped to look that way, then you are told to pose as you would at a Sears department store photography setting. Sarah also has a strong tendency to favor certain clients over others. Its understandable to make friends with clients and to naturally become more comfortable with them but if you are not a close friend of hers or a regular client, you just might end up waiting a month or more for your pictures, which once you receive them you'll see they were edited at the last minute, having your appointment canceled or rescheduled several times, and having unclean makeup brushes used to apply makeup to your face by a self taught UNLICENSED artist. The thing that I find so comical about this so-called photographer and make up artist, is the fact that she will blatantly talk poorly of her clients on a Facebook page where those clients could read those comments and she doesnt even realize that if people reported her to the Comestology Board of Certification she could be shut down and lose everything. Seems a little stupid of her to go around flashing her "self taught" ego and her poor attitude and complete lack of unprofessionalism. But I guess some people have to learn the hard way.

Sarah will edit and immediately post photos of her friends the SAME DAY as she has shot them all while her paying clients wait weeks for theirs. She acts like she is "dehydrated" and "rushing to the hospital" every time she gets overwhelmed and needs an extension and now she is adding more to her plate for her greasy husbands "work"! Sarah and Aldo are slobs and if you are friends with her personal page, Chata Cabrera-Hernandez, then you can see that NOTHING is unedited! She even edits her cell phone pictures of herself! So while she is taking time to edit the fat off of herself and BALDO, paying clients are again WAITING for their photos. She thinks because she has 4K+ "friends" on FB that she is becoming somebody? Anyone can be "famous" online when you spend your days and nights REQUESTING EVERYONE! And some of her clients are very beautiful women that she transforms into unrecognizable porn stars! I made a comment on one of my friends SCHStudios pictures just pointing out that it didn't "LOOK" like her and Sarah had to post a stupid response right under mine saying WTF. Real classy and professional Sarah. Now i will give her credit because some of these wanna be "models" (blonde and tatted for example) are NOT nearly as attractive in person as they are in their photos but again, they are Sarah and Aldo's friends so she will go the extra mile to edit them. And the fact that she encourages Aldo to photograph these young girls with heavy makeup and little clothing? Does anyone see a HUGE problem with this?Or what about this advertisement for a Cholo shoot? HOW OLD ARE YOU? Sarah and Aldo are ALL about getting your money. She has screwed over damn near everybody she knows whether they know it or not. She takes on jobs with paying customers but she is still doing photos for FREE with friends! What she needs to do is run a business instead of her mouth!
OK, I don't really care for Sarah or Aldo's "style" but I am not impressed with her make up skills either. I have seen her around like 3 times with the wrong foundation on. Arent you supposed to know these things if you are a "professional make up artist"? And when you are at a kids football game, why do you have SO MUCH on? I would say PASS if you are considering going to her for makeup or pictures. If she can't do it right for herself, then why pay her money to do it wrong for you?

So Sarah wants to know why people think she charges too much.Well let's see, could it be that for only a couple of pictures you charge 200 bucks! Or maybe it's because you don't give your clients their original photos on a disc! Or maybe it's because you are not licensed and "self taught" which in the industry means nothing! Could it be because of your lack of originality or your so called "signature" look that cheapens the look of your clients? Ask yourself as the consumer, why are most of her models in their bras and panties? Why does she put on so much makeup on these really young girls and make them look nothing like real life? Think about it folks, how many "models" have been created as a result of these photos? And for those of us who are real photographers and practice the art of photography, it is absolutely disgusting to see someone like Sarah and that husband of hers take honest dollars from people just to glorify sex, violence and now excess. (implied? Guns and blood?) It is your choice to go to these people for services but make sure you do your research. It's not always the cost of the photos. self respect, professionalism and reputation mean much more and it is clear by sarahs obsessive attempts to call herself a stylist, a photographer, a MUA, a professional editor and anything else that will get you to give her money, that none of the things that matter to a real professional are more important than taking your money.

A friend of mine actually told her to follow her own advice and within minutes, the comment was deleted as well as he. Sarah wants you to BELIEVE that she is a good person, that what she does is something that she enjoys and that she is trying to "raise her family" with the income. For anyone who REALLY knows her, not these newbie "friends" who think becuase they shot a few times with her that they are BFF's now, you know that her and her arrogant husband are ### talkers who can't back up anything they dish out. She talks ### about clients who PAY HER to those who DON'T, she thrives off of attention and tries her hardest to be something that she clearly is NOT! And for the record, you may have 4k + friends Sarah but what you don't realize is just how many of them are friends with people that do NOT respect you or that are your "haters". We look you in the face on a weekly basis and smile and grin, but in the end, we all see you for what you are and know what you're about and we are ALL guilty of being FAKE and talking about you behind your back! I am a REAL professional fashion model who has worked with several professional photographers around the world, including Victor de Mello and Yanik Dery just to name a few. I am a California native currently based in Los Angeles and came across Mrs. Hernandez's facebook page through a fan. I will recognize that she is talented in her own right, enough for me to feel the urge to research her business further online. However, it is extremely disappointing to hear of the unprofessional conduct that she demonstrates both online and apparently in person. It is evident that those who adore her are close friends and clearly not professionals themselves. Now I do not know this woman personally, but what I can say about her work is that she is clearly still an amateur. Her composition is limited and her need to create several titles for herself clearly proves that she is not invested or trained in any one area. As a model, you must always be weary of those who claim to be experts in several professions. Ask yourself WHY this person has not invested in any specific area and developed their skill to its maximum capacity, or what EXACTLY does "self taught" mean? Oftentimes, when we are starting out, we are naive to whom we seek out to build our portfolios. For a woman who wants to do something special for a husband, or a young girl that wants to play model for a day, I say that she has the talent to give you that style of photography. But if you are investing in a modeling career and wish to one day become someone in this industry, you are going to have to invest in a TRAINED photographer and a CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MUA with credentials and a good reputation. It's sad to say that comments like these are not only damaging to her future as a professional, but they are equally damaging for her current or future clientele. Reputation is vital in this industry.
Sarah Cabrera Hernandez and Aldo Hernandez are frauds plain and simple! Neither of them are anything near what they claim to be. Professional make up artist, stylist, hair stylist, photographer AND professional editor! (digital darkroom really?) All self claimed with nothing to back up their self given titles! Anyone with an open window and a camera can call themselves a photographer and anyone who wears that much makeup can call themselves an MUA.. What sets real professionals apart is their ability to capture a persons beauty without having to toot your own horn and making fools out of yourselves! Sarahs make up skills are minimal, especially if you have seen anything outside of eyeshadow and lipgloss! She has made several attempts to create open wounds, blood etc that look like crap and soon she will be calling herself a special fx artist too! Sarah and Aldo may continue to fool those of you who don't know them or see them around town desperate for attention but no matter how "lovely" they appear to be, they are both just using your money to line their own pockets

It's amusing how hard it is for some poeple to take criticism, how important it is for these same people to be cool when they are in their mid to late 30's and what they will do to make people like them! Don't you guys hate when someone advertises themselves as a photographer and they are really just a person with a camera. Certainly when you look at a photo, you often cannot tell what level of manipulation was done and nowhere is the level of manipulation revealed. Sometimes though, you can EASILY tell when an image is over-retouched or manipulated and this is what you will find in Sarah Cabrera and Aldo Hernandez's work.
This is less of a big deal when you are creating a photograph for artistic reasons, but it’s damn serious when young girls want to look like models that don’t exist. These SCH Studio models exist of course but their images are over manipulated to the point of fraud. Just look at their ports! All their photos vary, but even the most beautiful women that have shot with Sarah and Aldo are over retouched and almost made to look "plastic" where as other photographers are able to capture stunning shots without the heavy aid of photoshop. And some, including her images of both herself and Aldo are so overdone that when you see them in person, you can't help but stare because it's just NOT what their photos reveal. This is false advertising and this is exactly why you can not trust a fb photographer. I have seen some great images that have lost their appeal after being SCH'ed and others that were mediocre and obviously did not make her fb page. She only rushes and spends the most time with those SHE feels is beautiful, etc. while those who never have their images posted are simply made fun of and robbed of their hard earned dollars. Impressionable girls want to look like these models that Sarah and Aldo have created. They feel bad/sad when they can’t look like these models and beg their parents for money just to attempt to look like them. Rather than having both young girls and older adults (including the "self proclaimed" photographers themselves) embrace their natural God given flaws, they promote fake boobs, sex and pounds of face paint to sell their "style." They even EDIT CHILDREN! If this trend continues, it won’t be long till we’ll be selling anti-wrinkle cream to ten year olds or freckle remover for red headed babies. But people are catching on, they are getting fed up with this manipulation/fraud/cheating.
The ones who have the most to say are the ones that really know Sarah and Aldo and the things they do. Sarah thinks she has made friends but the truth is eventually everyone she has called a close friend has seen first hand the real Sarah and aren't around anymore. If she can talk ### about her own husband and he can talk ### about his own wife then what makes any of us untouchable? Napa has some really great photographers that are tailored to provide high quality services and no extra ###. It makes you really wonder about her "regular" clientele and the kinds of people they really are. Their maturity (and many of their ages) are very young and explains why her style is so popular with the pin up wanna bes and Mexicans. As for some of the others, could it merely be for attention? Probably so. If you want real quality then spend the money for a real photographer. Because sch studios just isn't one of them.
