I did NOT enjoy spending my time or money for my "photoshoot" with Sarah Cabrera-Hernandez. She claims that she has been doing makeup and photos for "years" and that she is "self-taught" but after my actual experience with her, I see that she has a lot of learning to do. She piled on heavy layers of makeup on my face (WHICH LATER CAUSED ME TO BREAK OUT INTO A RASH) and when I got home, my husband was really upset and disappointed becuase my face looked like it was MELTING off. During the shoot, she would pose me like she has many of the other, MUCH THINNER, clients in various uncomfortable and "[censored]-like" poses claiming each time that they were going to be "great". It was obvious to me that she does not know what she is doing and even worse, she is claiming to be both a photographer and a makeup artist who can "make anyone beautiful" when instead she should advertise that she can ONLY make anyone look like a [censored]. You can also tell that she does not edit all of her clients the same, and is selective about who she actually wants to do a good job for. But my biggest complaint is that she did not take the time to actually consider what I wanted and CONSULT me, her client. Her "studio" is actually a revamped attic and the girl who did my hair even complained about her work. Sarah does what SHE wants and the CLIENT has to pay for her "vision".
AFTER RESEARCH, SARAH CABRERA-HERNANDEZ IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER OR A LICENSED MAKE-UP ARTIST. NO ONE SIGNS CONTRACTS AND SHE DOES NOT DELETE HER CLIENTS PHOTOS OR GET PERMISSION TO USE THE IMAGES.
SARAH CABRERA HERNANDEZ DOES NOT SHOW VERSATILITY IN HER WORK AND ALL OF HER MODELS ARE SHOT IN THE SAME LOCATIONS WITH THE SAME POSES.
BUYER BEWARE.

... we would appreciate it if you ask permission BEFORE you save and/or repost our pictures on Facebook or any other site or App. Our work is copyrighted and is our legal property.
Not only are people reposting our work, they're changing the images appearance and are NOT giving us credit.
We put so much into our work and it's completely disrespectful for people to be doing this.
GIVE US A BREAK! Your "work" is not copyrighted and furthermore you are both lame and pathetic! An app? REALLY? When are you two going to see you aren't as "cool" as you'd like to think?
PET PEEVES: Unoriginal, unhygenic, and unprofessional "photographers" who claim to be self taught and offer "the lowest price in town." Another pet peeve, someone who has to give themselves multiple titles in order to fill the void they have inside because they aren't really that good at any of them (Back of hair?!? Really? LMFAO!)

They are beautiful because of her models, not because of the work she does. Anyone can be a fb photographer, she is proof of that.

I think it's great that you are a regular member of ComplaintsBoard.com and insert yourself into various boards to share your thoughts, but it is obvious that we, and I say WE because I too am a Napa resident and know several of the clients that have sought Ms. Hernandez's services, are first hand witnesses and clients of her unprofessional and immature antics and business practices. Please understand that I too see that some people have chosen this forum to "talk ###" but there are legitimate complaints on this site as well. What you need to understand is that the photos you SEE on her sites are again her "BEST" shots taken with her BEST models. Many of the women that seek her services for the same images are left with mediocre and rushed images and are not cared for to the degree that she puts forth with these other "semi professional models." As for your comment "The reason she said that comment on Facebook is because someone is carrying on a smear campaign against her by posting lots of negative reviews and flagging her photographs on FB. " again, shows how little you know about the photographer and her reputation. If you are simply a fan, be a fan. Many people are fans of Michael Jackson but it doesn't mean he didn't molest small children. It is your right to enjoy her work, but please don't sit here and disregard the real first hand experiences that frustrated clients have dealt with.

I see how this works now! Light Coldie, Nicole. and some of these other commentators are "regulars" who comment on just about anything to start their own conversations within complaints. This is a venue to make a complaint, not start petty online arguments to see who is wittier than the other.
To all my fellow Napians, we may love or hate Sarah and Aldo's work, but those of us who have voiced our experiences on this site should continue to do so because it simply is not fair to charge the same if not higher rates for less than quality work. Sarah is not licensed or accredited in any way and Aldo is even less experienced than she is. Sarah has many "fans" but she also has many critics due to her unprofessional practices. This is merely my opinion, but one that I have found to be more common than not.
I had to register just to make this comment. I am researching photographers and MUA for my upcoming wedding and came across this complaint as I was looking. I just spent about 15 minutes browsing through MUA on facebook and I do NOT understand the buzz that this particular MUA/Photographer is getting. From what I see in comparison, she seems boring and does most of her "work" digitally on phtoshop. Just stop and take a look at some of the other MUA profiles and the wild and creative things that they do without any assistance from ps or any other editing software blows this lady out of the water. I can only imagine what their work would look like with the extra editing.
I used to be another one of her acquaintances I really never considered her a "friend" cause I knew how she was personally, I find it so amusing how much [censored] she talks about you and can still look you in the eye as if you were the best friends in the while wide world. I used to go over to her place and "play" with makeup being that she never ever charged me. The last time I went to her place she informed me she wanted to do a shoot like old times "play" date I thought ok kool, I get their things go "smooth" and a few days later I hear back all the ### she was talking about me that I didn't pay her or even give her anything as "Sarah Marshall" would say " Bull [censored], bull [censored], bull [censored]" lol
I have worked with quite a few TRUE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS and not once have they brought up their life problems, or even closely open their mouths to talk [censored] about anyone, shows how much growing up you really need to do! Another thing I find ridiculously funny is that if you pay close attention to her " friends" list she is always requesting all the people on your own friends list, example I have some cousins out of state that obviously would know who the Fu!# she is and they are on her friends list, lol wow really you really need to blow up your head with so many friend request that you are the one looking for people awww so sad!
Now "mentoring" her husband I didn't know it was that hard to grab a camera and take a picture? Does anyone else have problems of how to take pictures? Cause I know little kids that can grab a camera and shoot.
What I find more hilarious is how she try's sooooooooo hard to get the pity votes from her so called "friend" by posting crap like " people talking [censored]" and stuff like that so your head can get bigger than it already is to make you feel better who are you really trying to kid? It's so funny how her and her "faithful" hubby walk around town like they are mainstream. Word of advice, you both aren't, you are so pathetic looking and the people that see you are thinking the same.
Warning to businesses if yo collaborate with this couple, don't think you will be in business for a long time these so called "picture takers" come with a lot of baggage and I don't think you want your business ruined.
It's funny how they try to act like they are the kool people in town and everyone in their words "glorifies " them and wishes the were them and that supposively were jealous, hey news flash we are not and we don't! Oh and their so called friends look at the age range they are in much younger then them to make them feel superior and wanted lol such a sad couple.
So if you want your life heard around town go to "SCH Studios or AMH Studios" and you will surely get talked about.
My suggestion is pass these two PICTURE TAKERS up you can get more fore your money elsewehere
Sarah is setting herself up for all this criticism! This isnt a smear campaign. I can agree with many of these complaints. A photographer should never talk about their personal issues or other clients to paying clients who have hired you for services. Sarah has told the world about Aldo's ongoing cheating, her hatred for his family, her broken friendships, she even talks about her own sisters drama! If she tells everyone she meets about her own family business, then what do you think she says about you after you work with her? And Justanotherone is dead on about how she acts like you're her best friend in the whole world. She throws the love word around like it's toilet paper and yet she can stab you in the back as soon as you turn around. Her life is a soap opera based in the heart of Napa. Not that long ago, she mentioned she was planning on moving to Vegas. Leave already!

So I wanted to let you know that if you talk ### about me and I find out, I will delete you. My friend used to work with her and it's so funny how I noticed that on page 3 they were trying to portray my friend " M.D" Vegas Baby" it's so true that it is probably her writing all this ### too. Hey news flash Sarah "M.D" was busy at her baby shower that day how do I know this? Cause as a true friend I was their! Why is she promoting discounted shoots and trades when she isn't done with the jobs she already has "backed up"? This is exactly why sch studios had to downsize in the first place. No business sense and unless she thinks you can get her on the map or get something free out of you, your pictures are her last priority! She even did yet ANOTHER shoot of her sister and edited it the same day instead of finishing up on jobs she took weeks ago. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and so overcharged that now she has decreased her pricing! Bet that makes those few who paid top dollar for mediocre work feel pretty foolish right now.

We hear it when we see her, we read about it when we sign on to fb, and people who pay for her services have to deal with it first hand when your work is not ready. Or what about her "temporary" price cuts? Even discounted, they still cost more than they are worth. And after reading the other posts, I see I am not the only one who thinks that she is unprofessional! She has pending jobs and is asking for some patience as she "catches up" and yet she is posting photos that she took this weekend!?! Again ladies, you are not a priority unless you are a personal friend or she thinks that you are attractive enough to post on her "business" page. And has anyone noticed how her slimy husband fb stalks the attractive laides all the time and disrespects her all the time?

Sarita, you try the HARDEST to be someone you aren't and there is nothing elegant or appealing about you or your work. You and several of your "models" try a little too hard if you ask me! LMFAO!
Another half and half situation. Here's my main advice.
If you don't feel comfortable about Sarah's work, go to a professional makeup and hair salon. She does not make any guarantees in the business terms that you will absolutely be satisfied or your money back. Also for some a professional establishment is better.
If you do not mind working with someone who clearly works on their own and is not a part of a professional salon service, then by all means go with Sarah. There's lots of Sarahs in the industry and you'll likely find one that suits you. Just don't forget to search the name first.
Sarahs new do looks f*cking hideous! Did her hair dresser get a "trade" to dye hrt dark hair blonde/red? The streaks made her look like a skunk and now, i don't know wtf I saw! The new colors with tattoos all over the place just makes her look like she is going through a mid life crisis! She is trying so hard to "fit in" with all the "models" she works with! LMFAO! I'm thinking about taking a long break, I'm an artist, not a business woman. I'm tired of dealing with crazy people who aren't aware that I'm human and that I have a life that's being completely neglected because of this. I'm too busy and too behind and now just too tired.

I thought I'd see something over the weekend, especially since she claimed to be "editing" til death but she is still alive and I am still waiting. I understand that independent businesses usually take more time than a professional service, but THIS IS HER JOB! Her studio is in her home, her computer is in her home, what's her excuse? She doesn't work full time someplace else and do this on the side, so why such a long wait? If you aren't a friend or "model" then she rushes the work and you won't be happy. Please contact me for high prices and long wait times as I continue to spend hours on the internet, coloring my hair, taking photos of myself and trying to hang on to my youth by threatening my much younger sisters enemies on my business page. Just saw Sarah and Aldo at the movies. OMFG! NOTHING like their photos! Her hair looks like ### and she looks like a raccoon! Makeup artist- no thanks. Do you really need that much to go to the movies? WTF!?! And she wonders why people talk about her! GAWD! Look in the mirror! She fixed her hair! But now she is wearing glasses trying to LOOK smart, but if you have ever met her it is evident that maturity and intelligence are not her strengths.
I took advantage of one of her "specials" and am STILL waiting for her to finish the job. As many photos as she took, she doesn't edit many at all and she definitely doesnt let you choose the ones you want. I am the most disappointed with how long the process takes and the excuses that she has for why her deadlines are not met. She was out every day shopping and spending time with her sister, etc. but then all of the sudden she was struck down with a severe fever and had to "postpone" her editing. What the hell was she doing all this time? And her "your edits will be done by Christmas" deal was taken literally. If you planned to have them printed and gifted online, then that is no longer an option. Sarah can be a nice enough person but she is full of lame and unprofessional excuse after excuse. After meeting her in person and dealing with this whole ordeal, she seems a bit lazy to me and is someone who does not know how to manage her time well at all. My suggestion is to save your money and go to someone with a little more business sense.
I think she overdoes it in photoshop but if people want that plastic look then she's the one to do it. She worked on some black girls recently and they looked so fake I thought they were cartoons!
Her apartment is her studio and you will smell like her house when you leave so if you have somewhere to go bring lots of body spray!
