I fully respect it is hard to describe one’s hair colour over the phone, so I made a special trip into the city to go into the saloon to discuss what I would like done. At that time they asked who my stylist had been the last time and I shared her name (best haircut of my life!) and so I felt confident coming to the same Vidal Sassoon location for my...

Sassoon Hair dryer

I have a hair dryer that was made with no ground on the plug in so it has shorted out shocking me and starting to smoke. I was shocked so badly that it literally burnt my finger tips and palm of my hand. I want someone to compensate me for my purchase and failed product and my pain cause this honestly hurts and it has made it hard for me to enjoy my x mas.

Sassoon vidal sassoon vsdr5835 type ed5835fa vidal sassoon infra radiance hair dryer.

Complaint.
We brought my daughter this dryer as her other one was broken. She rarely uses one as her hair goes frizzy so we decided to invest in this model as it looked exactly what she would need in the future.
She has not used it before as she let's it dry naturally. She went to get it out of its box for the first time only to find the parts were rattling inside. She asked me to check and it sounded as if all the parts were rattlling around inside.
I told her not to use it and I would contact yourselves.
I'm sure you can understand my concern regarding safety. Although she has had it quite a few months it was the first time of using it. I have now decided to take photographs of the model and see if you can help under the warranty of the item as I no longer have the receipt.
I presumed that when she finally decided to use it, that it would work.
Thank you and I really hope I hear from you shortly.
She is really disappointed
Thank you

Sassoon vidal sassoon extra hold hair spray

I purchased this spray for first time since my product was sold out. When I sprayed on my hair within a few seconds it started to burn my skin on my temple area, I wet a towel and washed it off... So I thought. It kept itching that day, so when I got back home I washed the area again, that week the itching and dry skin appeared across my forehead then started flaking off layer after layer of skin cells to where my whole forehead and temple area on my right side where it all began became reddish/purple and oozing fluid, eventually much to my surprise my temple hair fell out as well as half my right eyebrow in which I now must pencil in. My skin continues to flake and peel and has effected my neck as well, it just won't go away and keeps spreading and or acting up. This has been going on now for about 9 months or so. I believe this is a chemical burn of some sort, since I have no allergies. I have been keeping cbd oil on it to keep air off skin in effected areas it's the only thing that helps but not fully healing.
Any idea what could be causing this? Anyone else have this problem from this product? What shall I do next... Please help!

Thank you

Sassoon hair color service in salon

7/17/2018
I used to be a regular customer whenever I wanted a great precise cut and professional color I would come here until recently. I went to there on June 2nd to get my hair platinum blonde or a light blonde. My hair was already a dirty blonde but my roots started turning a dark brown and I had medium length hair and asian. I was scheduled for a 10:30 and found out I was only booked for a single process color. The girl should have been more inquisitive about needs. I talked about cut and color I wanted. I was asked if I wanted my hair that morning and I did. She said because it may sting a lil'. I wish I was told that at the time of my booking. I went to Jen who I've been to before. She had Ritchie help her. She bleached the top half waited for about 30 min then she added more bleach to the entire head. I sat for prob another 20 to 30 min. I got washed and then went for cut by Terri. Jen said don't be shocked by the color. It came out then she told me in the beginning that color at roots may turn orange but instead a bright yellow like the original color. After my cut I then waited in the back til Jen finished up w her client that she was doing foils on. Wait was about another 30-45 min or so. Then she put more bleach in for what was supposed to another 30 min in but was more like 40 min. It was burning but I tolerated because I was determined to get that yellow corrected. She explained to me how it's common to sting and how she was blonde before and she said to herself pain is beauty. I said the same thing. I then got washed out and as I was washed out my head was very tender and hot. I asked to wash me w cold water and she did. After shampoo a PH balancer placed in my hair for another 10 min. I got that washed out and sat for another 30-45 min waiting for her. She blew dried my hair and then had a toner put in for 20 min. At this point my head was on fire but I was determined to make sure that yellow was gone and pain is beauty right. I was washed out again by a different person and at this point my head was really in excruciating pain I was shaking a little. Again cold water and gentle touching was key. After towel dried I went to stylist for final cut and touches. As she brushed or combed my hair she asked if too hard like she knew it would be tender or something was wrong. She blew dried my hair til it was over dried out and started to look like a helmet. As she was blow drying and brushing I felt something was wrong the way she kept brushing my hair lifting it up as looking for something. I suggested she flat iron my hair. She did and final look came out great. I left out at 4:00 or 4:15 to catch a movie w friends. Then we went to dinner abt 7:30 I felt the back of head and side by my ear I noticed some scabbing. I went home and analyzed my whole head and these scabs were all over and wet like at the top. I paged the on call for pcp's office. They suggested going to er. I went to my local ER and they diagnosed me with impetigo. A strain of staph or strep infection. The pictures the nurse and my daughter took showed my pores/follicles were jet black and I had red circular patches and lots of hard yellow crustiness pus like. The process to care for this is crazy. I had to take antibiotics, missed a day of work because it is contagious and wanted to be sure I had a full 24-48 hours of antibiotics. I had to change my sheets and towels and clothes everyday. Wash in hot water. Wrap head in scarf when sleeping. Use Jason's Tea Tree shampoo and 95% aloe vera gel the healing has been a long process and still have some mild scabbing and maybe some scar tissue. On Tuesday morning I called them because on they were closed for weekend as I was there on a Saturday. I was concerned about what happened to me and using same brush or comb on other clients. I Spoke w Jo the assistant mgr. Who said she will tell her immediate supervisor Thalia and I will get a call back from her later today. I did not receive a call back from her til about 2:30. She said she will call me back after investigating and she never did. I explained that I did not want people to lose their jobs just to make people aware of things that can happen. I called on Friday to follow up & get resolution. She said that she interviewed and no one saw anything. Of course ! She didn't sound concerned or didn't sound like she knew what to do. I was upset and told her she didn't even give me an apology or seem to care. She apologized only because I mentioned it. She asked if I wanted a refund. I said yes. She said she had to run it by corporate by writing up a slip and I should receive an email from corporate. I never did. I asked her to send me an email as proof that she did this. She just emailed me a one line statement her request of a partial refund of $200 not the whole $315 or $320 I spent not including the the tips I gave. It's been way over a month and no refund. I emailed corporate twice no response but I think it may have been only for consumer products. I went to another stylist recently and a dermatologist who both said i had been burned or had a chemical reaction and lost small patches of hair. I'm very disappointed in this reputable salon.

Sassoon dry shampoo - color finity

I have a Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Color Finity Dry Shampoo Rich Darks 4.9oz.
I was only able to use it one or 2 times and now absolutely nothing happens when you press the spray lever/button. This is the 2nd can of this same design that I have had this problem with. I hate to throw it away because it's practically full but it's useless.

Very disappointed with this packaging. The product was great but I can't use it.

Tried it yet again today 12/9/17 and no air, no noise, nothing. It's been shaken, etc.
I have kept it in hopes that someday it would work...I don't recall which store I bought it at. A refund or equivalent coupon for Vidal Sassoon products is requested.

Thank you.

Sassoon vs pro series ultra vibrant hair colour in 1bb/midnight muse blue

I bought this product about two weeks ago as it was on sale at my local Dollar General Market in Ohio and I knew I was going to need navy blue pigment anyways. I opened the box today and sadly, there is no pigment in the box? Just the conditioner, cream developer, instructions and gloves. I'm so confused why or how this happened? Quality and damage control please. 😳

I agree with gkenigmatic. You just want to complain for the sake of complaining. And I've had burns, I didn't have to deal with a "pain situation" or call customer services.

Get over yourself. Seriously.

Sassoon Fire of Vidal Sassoon Hairdryer

I bought a blow dryer called Vidal Sassoon 1875, I purchased it at Family Dollar for $12.00 I used the blow dryer on high several times and nothing happened until this morning and as I was almost done blow drying my hair flames shot out and burnt the top of my hair sinjing it off to about a half an inch from my scalp, The blow dryer no longer works on high but works on low. I now have to go get all of my hair cut really short, just to let you know...I am crying as I write this because I hate really short hair especially on myselff.

After years of using my vidal Sassoon 1875 hair dryer without problems, the last time I used it (and it will be the last time), little particles flew out of it, one landing on me and burning me. The fire detector in the house started calling "fire", "fire", I unplugged it as quickly as I could . There wasn't any smoke or fire, but it had a burned smell.

I had the same problem with my Vidal Sasson hair dryer! I blow dry my hair from underneath, so had my head down and felt a rumble then fire came out, set my fire alarm off(which is above me), I was very lucky that it did'ny catch my hair on fire! I have had the 1875 model. I would appreciate an update and reason this happened. And YES I do clean the filter, but apparently there is something else wrong. Lindajameson@comcast.net

Sassoon Electrical Cord Failed

This curling iron is just over two months old and the electrical cord has completely broken where it meets the reinforcement rubber ribs before going into the handle. This happened while I was using it. It caused a second degree electrical burn on my hand (that includes the blister). The circuit breaker popped and prevented a worse injury or fire. My carpet just outside my bathroom door was nearly burnt when the iron fell on the floor.

Same thing just happened to us. We bought this curling iron back in November 2009. My wife uses it almost everyday. She plugged it in the morning before work and Kaboom. She was electricuted. Her hand was completely black. Sparks flew across the entire bathroom. This is the 3rd day, my wifes hand is still burning and hurting. She went to ER today to have them look at it. They couldn't find anything from the outside, but did say its and inner electrical burn and will take time to heal. The cord blew completely off. Tripped the breaker, just like the above comment. This could of been a lot worse. I am very upset and would like to take this to the next level.

Sassoon Does not work properly

I was given a Vidal Sassoon Answers hairdryer the other day, but it oes not actually produce any hot air. All the air the comes out ( no matter what setting it is on) is cold. Therefore, I received a faulty product. When I typed in the website address to complain about the product, I found that it links me to an unrelated site under a different company. There is no phone number to be found. I have Model VSDR5522. I would like to contact the company that produced the product, but have not been able to find the correct conctact information.

Sassoon 2 hair accessories that don't work

Sent the below message to Proctor & Gamble, who's associated with Helen of Troy, who owns Vidal Sassoon. (..whew! took forever to get to the bottom of that!):
"Purchased 2 hair accessories. The Fan Tail VS15188 is impossible to use, in spite of an online forum stating the same by many consumers. One person even gave
recommendations, but still unable to use with your instructions. Same with Pony Connect VS15213--hair pulls out of band when pulled to connect in back. I'm 58
years old with medium length hair. My 28-year old daughter with long hair tried both on her & me without success. HELP!"

There was no email to contact Helen of Troy, & nor Sassoon, so I went right to the top. A few hours later (on a Saturday night!), I received the following response from P&G:
"Hi! Donna, Thanks for contacting P&G. The Vidal Sassoon products you wrote about aren't ours. P&G no longer makes any Vidal Sassoon products - we discontinued
the Shampoo and Styling products more than 5 years ago. You may want to recheck the package label or consult the Thomas Register at your local library to locate the
name and address of the current manufacturer. You can also visit them online at: http://www.thomasregister.com .
The last information we had on Vidal Sassoon hair styling products, brushes, hair dryers, etc., was that they were manufactured by Helen of Troy. You can reach their
company by writing to them at:
Helen of Try, Attention Customer Service, 1 Helen of Troy Plaza, El Paso, TX 79912
-or you can try emailing: [protected]@hotus.com
-or by calling toll-free:
Consumers: [protected]
Retailers: [protected]
I hope this information is helpful.
Dianne, P&G Team"

So if anyone else has been given the run around by Vidal Sassoon, try going this route, per P&G.

Sooooooooo, Nonniemouse--you obviously like to read a lot more into a message than the writer writes! If you'd take time to read the message you'll note that nowhere did I say Sassoon is a bad product. When I took them back to Ulta (a beauty store/salon for those that haven't heard of it) to see if any of the stylists/consultants knew how to use it, none did. When check forums (which are extremely helpful in researching any kind of product), there were no solutions -- only complaints that it doesn't work as instructed, with many negative remarks & derogatory names for the Fan Tail. I purchased these 2 products in the first place because they're unique, look fun to use, and the accompanying pictures on the front of the card are enticing.

Again you miss the point -- I don't want to "return them...and get on with life" -- you must have passed over the HELP I ask Sassoon for in capital, bold letters; in other words, I'm hoping that someone that has purchased these & has been successful in using them will pass on the secret. After I submitted the above a few days ago, I did another google search on the Fan Tail forum, and there was an entry from a beautician whose client brought the accessory to her for a hair style for a wedding, and beautician had to improvise with bobby pins & lots of hair spray. She was so frustrated and not being able to accommodate her client that she successfully contacted Sassoon via Helen of Troy; she even put the contact's name/email/phone # in the entry -- Sassoon rep agreed the instructions need more graphics & better text, which they are currently working on as a result of numerous complaints.

Both my daughter & I have thick hair: mine is shoulder length, hers is mid-back. As for your advice to cut it to chin length...mine barely stays in a ponytail
now--the back ends up hanging on my neck-- and my daughter chooses to keep her hair long, not cutting it as a solution to using a few accessories! These are the first 2 neither of us can use, so cutting hair seems pretty extreme and definitely isn't a solution. The 1st step to use the Fan Tail -- "Gather hair in a ponytail..secure with a braided elastic". Two sets of instructions are for medium-length/fine hair as well as long-length/thick hair. You're obviously not familiar with either product.

When searching internet on how to contact Sassoon for further instructions, I hit a dead end -- websites mentioned Regis, Helen of Troy, Conair, with Proctor&Gamble as their head. I was impressed with P&G -- hours after my plea for assistance, their customer service rep responded ON A SATURDAY @ 9:30 P.M. I thought it would be Monday or Tuesday at the earliest if I got a response at all.

I found complaintsboard.com by doing a search for sassoon, and it led me to a complaint about burnt hair from a Sassoon curling iron. My original complaint above is a result of this search; it gives my complaint as well as contact info to complain about Sassoon products for those, like myself, who have hit dead ends. I will continue to come back to this site on complaintsboard.com with the hope that someone will respond with a post as to how to use the products I mentioned, rather than useless information to "get on with life" and "cut it to chin length". Do you just search sites like this all day for mental stimulation? This being my first internet post, I was hoping these types of sites would be useful and give solid advice and/or feedback rather than random comments.

I spent at least an hour trying to find a replacement comb for my VS 1875w Ionic dryer with no luck. I was like wow this surely can't be this difficult. So when i came upon this link i dialed the number contained in the link and finally got to where i was trying to get to after several edits of my request (in google). I thank you very much for this information. I was starting to think i would have to throw away (donate to Goodwill) my perfectly good working dryer and buy a new one just for a dang-gone comb.

Sassoon It burnt my hair

I bought a Vidal Sassoon curling iron at our local Wal Mart and it burnt my hair. I have red spots through my hair and in the front it stuck to my hair and when i pulled it out my hair broke off. My hair is really fried and I had to buy lots of hot oil treatments and I feel I deserve compensation for this. it will be months before my hair is back to normal.
