On November 9, 2023 Scana Energy turned off my service over a $54 past due bill and demanded that I pay $225 in fees to have my services restored. I have been with them for many years (decades) and because I absentmindedly forgot to pay a $54 overdue bill, they shut my gas off in November. Heartlessly told me, a senior, that I’d have to pay $150 deposit plus $75 reconnection fee to have my service restored. I paid my full bill online after being placed on a 2 HOUR hold. I went to another company, paid less than I was paying at scana and because of my credit, paid no deposit. Scana you have lost a great long time customer over your ruthlessness. I have the money to pay but it saddens me to know you do this same thing to people who are struggling or to the elderly who may have simply forgotten like I did.

I moved out of house after divorce and never received a final bill from Scana. A collection was placed on my report and after multiple attempts to get a final bill i was finally able to view online. Since i was never notified about a final bill i would like scana to remove it from my credit report and I can then pay the bill

I am not liable for the debt with SCANA ENERGY MARKETING. I do not have a contract with SCANA ENERGY MARKETINGYou guys need to handle this issue. This has been going on for a long time now that I have seen my information. That's messing my Character & name up as a person.They are in violation & told me 30 days when I had fraud. A identity theft with police report I had attatched as well, they are in major violation.

These accounts are not mine. According to USC 1695 and FCRA along with FDCPA rights, any unauthorized and fraudulent activities must be removed and blocked from reporting to my credit reports. I have attached documentation of the letter that was sent to the furnishers on May 15. They are still contacting me and this was shown up on my Equifax credit report. I will sue them if they continue to collect debt that is not mine.

I have been a faithful Scana customer for many years and currently have several different accounts. Because Scana has shown it does not value my loyalty by honoring a very simple request that would not cost the company anything, but would be of great benefit to me, I will look to form a relationship with a different service provider. I spent many years nurturing a relationship with Scana. I'm very disappointed with this ending.

I had an account show up on my credit report from Scana Energy. I have been in touch with them,. As stated above I have been in communication with Scana Energy. The last time I spoke with them, they stated that I owed approx 700.00. How could any one owe so much with the service was not even in use. I spoke with the representative in collections regarding my concern and asked her to please verify the amount of the debt owed and I would address it once confirmed. The representative stated that they would file a dispute/validity of the debt. No phone call regarding the final results of the dispute and suddenly its on my credit. The one reason I called was to try to have it settle and without any further notice after the dispute they place it on my credit. Horrible. I'm going to be writing the Consumer Protection Bureau regarding this matter.

The tech sent out, did a horrible job trying to make contact with me. Him not wanting to do his job, means no Gas service for 5 DAYS! I had my service turned off during the winter time/COVID-19. For a lack of payment, for the month. So I quickly paid it and the ($75 reconnect fee). At that point I was told the earliest person would have to come out in 24hrs. ( no heat or hot showers, no cooking on the stove). The next day I took OFF FROM WORK and stayed home. The guy didn't even ring the doorbell. He mustve just knocked or I would've heard him. When I called to ask where he was. They told me he had came and left, and the next appointment would be 4 DAYS OUT! I was on the phone for 2 hours trying to get someone to come back out today. For the sake of my kids having to be in a home with NO WAY to COOK, NO HOT WATER, and NO HEAT in the WINTER TIME!? ( during the COVID-19 also makes it unjust). They told me I would just have to make due for these 5 days! - Please help-

I contacted Scana via certified mail on 02/16 regarding account # X-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. This account went into collections after I fled my home with my kids in GA due to an abusive relationship. Once I settled in TX, I received a letter from Contract Callers, Inc stating they were attempting to collect the balance due on my Scana Account. I immediately called them and setup a payment plan to take care of the balance. I made each payment on time and paid off the amount due by 07/01. I found my final Scana Energy bill which had a different amount due ($10 less) than the bill sent from Contract Callers, Inc. I reached out to Scana (letter attached) with proof that I overpaid the final Scana bill by $10 and informed them that I paid my account in full and requested for them to remove the negative account from my report. They denied my request and stated that they could do nothing for me. They allowed the collection agency to bill me an additional $10 and did not empathize with me.

I have had many issues with Scana Marketing/Regulated for years involving their repeated inaccurate and stubborn consumer credit reporting that
I have had many issues with Scana Marketing/Regulated for years involving their repeated inaccurate and stubborn consumer credit reporting that has adversely impacted my credit. They long reported an account that as "closed- included in bankruptcy" with erroneous dates that would have caused the account to have been reported for several years longer than it should have been. I eventually succeeded in getting these erroneous reports removed in the last six months. Today I was alerted that they had once again newly inserted an erroneous account just days ago. This time claiming the same account was not in bankruptcy, was charged off, has a balance of $131.00 and dated the account to 8/1 when I have not had any relationship with Scana in six years. I logged into the old account and found that they indeed showed a balance owed! I am in the middle of the home buying process so in the interest of expediency I paid the balance, disputed the report, and filed a complaint with the PSC.

I lost my job in 2020 due to covid. My gas was disconnected. I called and spoke to several people explaing what happened and that I would be sure to pay the bill as soon as I could find a job and they seemed to sympathize with me and I asked if they could note on my account that I agreed to pay as soon as I found a job.. My kids and I lost everything *** had including our place to live. I finally got on my feet the beginning of this year and was able to pay the old bill. I applied for a place for my kids and I to live and I was told by the apartment manager that I had a charge off on my credit report from scana! I didn't understand why they would do that because I told several customer service reps at Scana what happened. I called to ask them why they put the charge off on my report because it affected my apartment process and the lady didn't even care! I paid all the money as soon as I started working. This is really hindering my credit report! Why! I had no control over a pandemic!

On Dec 3,2020 I called Scana and requested my service be turned off Dec 21, 2020 as I had sold my house. Contract was ending and my therms were maxim. Account X-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX X $260.57 On Dec 3, 2020 I called Scana to disconnect my service on Dec 21,2020 as my house was sold. My contract was ending in a couple of days. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do and was everything the same, Customer Service replied no. I was not informed my therms were going to be doubled or offered another contract since I was moving. If I had been informed of this I would have changed gas companies for the month for a lower price or even SPECIFICALLY asked my rate stay the same. When I called Scana they said if I had asked I would have been able to keep my same rate. I said I had assumed I was, and why did CS not offer or inform me it was going to double for the remaining days. My bill has always been in the 50 to 60 dollar range and I am happy to pay that but do not feel this was fair to gouge me for the remaining weeks.

I had a negative notification come from a credit agency that I use. It stated that I had a charge off of $510 from SCANA. I called them to explain that it looked fraudulent as I have never lived in Georgia. The person I spoke with at SCANA stated that they never saw proof of identification; that they took the order over the phone. They said that they would send a package for me to complete if I wanted to challenge the claim. I have never received this package 3 weeks after my initial call. I filed a police report after getting off the phone with SCANA, in the neighborhood/location of where the noted services were being used. The Sherriff deputy has sent me a reply that the identification of the apartment user was also fraudulent information. He stated that I had given enough positive identity information and was attempting to get a reply from SCANA. This dropped my score from 810 to 680. When reviewing the decades of credit reporting showing always paid/never late, it is easy to understand that this is not my ***, besides not ever living in Georgia. However, with the lose policy SCANA uses to vet new accounts; it doesnt matter whether crooks are using someone elses credit, SCANA will push their inefficiencies and inadequacies to the victims to have to salvage their credits standings.
