Scott Felder Homes is a builder in Calitera, and let me tell you, they're a bit of a joke
Scott Felder Homes is a builder in Calitera, and let me tell you, they're a bit of a joke. Our home buying process has been a complete disaster. Every step of the way, something has gone wrong. And instead of fixing the problems, they just throw money at them. It's like they're trying to cover up their mistakes instead of actually fixing them. It's been a frustrating experience, to say the least.
We had problems right from the start, costing us thousands to make our home livable
We had problems right from the start, costing us thousands to make our home livable. When we told Scott Felder about our problems, they completely ignored us. I had to call sales (because service won't answer) and yell at them to fix the issues in my new home. Plus, it's not very energy efficient, even though they claim it is.
Be careful when dealing with Scott Felder Homes
Be careful when dealing with Scott Felder Homes. We made an offer on a new house on 02/24 and it was accepted. We got a contract via *** and were told that everyone had signed it. On 02/25, we wired $5000 for earnest money. On 03/01, we removed a 60 day contingency and got a new contract. We were supposed to close on 03/30. On 03/02, they told us that other people were interested in the same house and asked for our "best and final offer" even though we already had a contract and had paid earnest money. They then sold the house to someone else. Scott Felder Homes didn't keep their word and held onto our $5000 until 03/04.

I recently bought a house from Scott Felder Homes and I gotta say, it's pretty dope
I recently bought a house from Scott Felder Homes and I gotta say, it's pretty dope. The whole process was smooth as butter, from picking out the floor plan to closing the deal. The house itself is top-notch, with all the bells and whistles you could want. The only downside is that the yard is kinda small, but that's not a big deal for me.
Overall, I'm super happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend Scott Felder Homes to anyone in the market for a new house. They know what they're doing and they do it well.
We bought $12k trees with our home in July
We bought $12k trees with our home in July . They were put in the wrong place many times and had to be moved. By September , 6 of the trees died even though we followed the water schedule the builder gave us. I said we could wait to fix it because I was putting in a pool. I asked the builder to fix it now in July , but they haven't responded. I want the 6 dead trees from last year replaced.
I had some issues with my home and I paid someone to check it out
I had some issues with my home and I paid someone to check it out. I sent the report to the warranty department a bunch of times and talked to a few people there, like *** and ***. I even talked to *** but nothing seems to be getting done. This isn't the first time I've had problems with their warranty department. They took a long time to fix my door and it's still not right. It lets in light and the base is wobbly. I'm really bummed out about this. It took them three months to fix the door and it's still not right. It seems like they don't care about my time. The workers they sent have been late or haven't shown up at all, which is super frustrating.

I been tryna get warranty work done on my crib for a whole year now
I been tryna get warranty work done on my crib for a whole year now. Some stuff from 12 still ain't fixed. I done put in mad tickets tryna get everything sorted, hit up customer service a buncha times and they always say they gonna escalate the ticket for repairs. The manager comes through and says they gonna handle it, but they never do. I ain't had a shower in my master bathroom for like 70 days now. The manager saw a leak in June, but I had to put in a ticket again in May before they even started talking about repairs. I had to threaten to get a lawyer involved at the end of July before they even started the work, and it still ain't done by the end of September. Every time I ask about other repairs, they always got some excuse for why it ain't started yet. The broken tiles been open since 9 and I can't even get a response about that.
I moved into my new home from Scott Felder Homes three weeks ago and noticed that the flooring was lifted
I moved into my new home from Scott Felder Homes three weeks ago and noticed that the flooring was lifted. I informed the builder, and they came to investigate. The issue was water coming up through the foundation. We went through the steps to see where the water was coming from. They told us that we were mopping too much and watering our lawn too much, but this was not the case. They did all the testing, saw it was not a plumbing leak, and the issue was not the irrigation system. Months went by with them testing with a moisture tester that is designed to give an idea of moisture levels. The readings were very high, and the meter testing manufacturer considers a need for investigation. After pleading with them, they finally got an inspector to come out and see what the issue was. What the builder considered normal was, in fact, a very serious problem. That brings me to this complaint. The builder has been unresponsive and will not return my emails if they are going to fix our warranty claim on the foundation.
Scott Felder Homes made our house
Scott Felder Homes made our house. Before we moved in (on 28 January ), we found 59 things that weren't done. These things were like broken floors, not finished tile work, no handrails on the stairs, nails in the roof that leaked, and more. The person in charge of the warranty doesn't answer our texts and hangs up when we call, and he's the 7th person in charge of our house. When they say they'll send someone to finish a job, they often don't come or do it wrong. I tried to talk to the boss of the area about these and other problems, but I only got to talk to him once and it didn't help much. I called the main office to complain, but they didn't call me back. Scott Felder Homes hasn't done what they said they would do to finish our house, and we don't know what to do now.
Me and my wife bought a house from Scott Felder Homes
Me and my wife bought a house from Scott Felder Homes. We've bought houses before so we know the drill. We put down some money and were promised updates every week. But we hardly got any updates and our house was 90 days late. I was worried about the framing so I got a third party inspection. I asked if it would cause any delays but they said no. The inspection found some problems and I was frustrated about not being kept in the loop. We did everything they asked but they didn't do the same for us. We gave a bad review but they didn't follow up or say sorry. We're still having problems with them not calling us back. They didn't keep their promises and we want others to know.
We started lookin for a house plan to build with Scott Felder homes in April
We started lookin for a house plan to build with Scott Felder homes in April . We found a model we liked and signed the contract to build on May 1st. We gave them our preapproval letter and met all the conditions required. After a few weeks, they told us we needed a third car garage and a bigger propane tank, which increased the price by over $30,000. They gave us a small credit to offset $13,000 of the increase. We agreed and thought it was settled. But June, July, and August went by with no progress on the house or lot. We paid ~$13,000 as earnest money and the options deposit. We contacted their local sales office several times and were told they were waiting for corporate approval. Our realtors reached out multiple times with no explanation for the delay. By September, we were frustrated and the sales staff told us to cancel our contract and build with someone else. We invested hours finding the house of our dreams, going to the design center, and investing thousands of dollars for nothing. Four weeks ago, Scott Felder agreed to return ALL of our deposited money, but we still haven't received it. We've called, texted, and emailed at least 6 times with no response.
We signed up with Scott Felder Homes in Santa **** Ranch in May 2022 for a spec home that was supposed to be done by November '22 - January '23
We signed up with Scott Felder Homes in Santa *** Ranch in May 2022 for a spec home that was supposed to be done by November '22 - January '23. We really liked the house and the community, and it was perfect for our family. I work for a builder, my wife works in tech from home, and our kids were excited about the neighborhood amenities. When we signed the contract, we had to put down 3% of the purchase price in *** plus $2,000, which was $31,000. As time went on, my wife heard rumors at work that there might be layoffs in Q3 or Q4 of this year. We started to worry about affording the house on one income and didn't want to risk our family's financial stability. We were really attached to the Scott Felder home, but we decided to back out of the agreement. We asked for a refund of our *** money, but our sales rep said we couldn't get it because my wife was just afraid of being laid off, not actually laid off. We tried to find a compromise, but it didn't work out. In October '22, Scott Felder cancelled the agreement. Unfortunately, my wife was actually laid off this month, and now we're struggling to support our family on one income and can't afford the Scott Felder home. We still haven't heard back from Scott Felder about getting our *** money back. We hope they'll do the right thing and refund our money so we can get through this layoff.
We signed with Scott Felder Homes for a new build in May , but it took 13 months instead of the 8 months we were told
We signed with Scott Felder Homes for a new build in May , but it took 13 months instead of the 8 months we were told. We had a walk-through with the construction manager and his boss, but they made us feel like our concerns weren't important. However, the boss pointed out things that were unacceptable and promised they would be fixed before closing. We never received a copy of the list of issues, and were told that all documents had been destroyed. On closing day, the house was still dirty and none of the issues had been fixed. We refused to delay closing again, and they fixed most of the issues within a week. However, there are still many outstanding items and we can't get in touch with anyone for updates. The lack of professionalism and accountability is concerning. There is no warranty number, only an email.
