Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc
Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is the worst bunch of pricey, unprofesh folks you'll ever come across. Seriously, they're a hot mess from top to bottom.
Same thing that Kelli F says below

They are a total rip off
They are a total rip off. My sister called them. Furnace was not working. Came out and said the furnace needed replacing and it would be $8000.00. I told he to tell them no. Had another company come out today. Cleaned sensor and replaced the filter. Good to go. Avoid Scott *** Plumbing.
I'm really mad at this company
I'm really mad at this company. The first two cold days of the year came early. My pilot light went out and won't stay lit when I try to relight it. I messaged the company on Tuesday to ask for help through the chat on their website, but they said they would pass on the message to the team and contact me. But guess what? I heard nothing from them, so I had to go without heat. The next day, I called them again, and they said sorry and promised to pass on my info to the team and contact me. But guess what? Another night without heat or hot water. Now it's the third day, and still no email or phone call from them, and I still have no heat or hot water. Thank goodness the temperature is going up and not down as the week goes on. This company is big, so there's no excuse for this. I'm really let down.
Immoral and Unethical I did business with Scott **** Plumbing a few years ago and thought they were wonderful
Immoral and Unethical I did business with Scott *** Plumbing a few years ago and thought they were wonderful. I have referred several people to them since. However, my father recently passed away. I have been shocked to discover that they charged my sick and elderly father nearly $8,000 for a water heater that should have been $1200 - $2,000 tops, and helped arrange financing for $200/month for years to come. Since his passing, both Scott *** and the finance company have refused to accept a settlement (yes, we offered one - at a very reasonable amount) or to work with us. They continue to harass my 75-year-old mother, who is on a very fixed income, to send collection notices, and to threaten her with a lien on her home. Scott *** says it's not their problem at this point. We disagree. For a company who tries to sell an image of honor and family values, they couldn't be more off. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Scott ***. Since negative stars is not an option, we gave them one.
This company, Scott R
This company, Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc., is a complete rip-off! Our kitchen sink was leaking into the basement, and unfortunately, I didn't check ComplaintsBoard.com first before calling them. They installed a new faucet that they just happened to have in their van, and they charged us a whopping $600 for it! They didn't even provide us with any paperwork or tell us the brand name. Can you believe it? The faucet only lasted about 3 months before falling apart, literally! They came back once to put it back together and tighten it up, but the second time it fell apart, we contacted the manager. They promised to make it right, but nobody ever showed up!
To make matters worse, while the plumber from Scott Hale was giving us an estimate, they mentioned a water damage business. We told them to give us the number in case we needed it (which we didn't), but the next thing I knew, they were in my house with huge fans, ready to tear everything out! They even scratched my beautiful hardwood floor! And to top it all off, the plumber took it upon themselves to file a claim with my home owners insurance and tried to convince us to get a whole new kitchen! Can you believe their audacity? I'm sure they didn't pay more than $50 for that lousy faucet. They are just out to scam and gouge customers.
Do not hire Scott **** Plumbing!
Do not hire Scott *** Plumbing! I had them come out on Nov. 23, the day before Thanksgiving, to fix my furnace. They charged me $157.00 but didn't actually fix anything. As a deaf and handicapped person, I was left without heat over the entire Thanksgiving weekend. The repairman claimed he cleaned the flame sensor, but when I checked on Sunday night, it was still dirty. He also said he moved the ignitor, but it's actually bolted down and can't be moved. He claimed to have done a few other minor things, but the furnace still wasn't fixed. To make matters worse, he blew the fuse that powers the furnace and didn't bother fixing it. So when he left, the furnace had no power at all. All he wanted was for me to replace the furnace, and when I refused, he didn't seem to care anymore. I wasn't present during the visit, but he had my credit card, so I had no say in the matter and he charged me the $157.00 anyway. I called another heating company on Nov. 29, and they promptly fixed the furnace. I strongly advise against hiring this company. I've already gone to the bank and disputed the charge. I always pay my bills on time, but it's just not fair when a company fails to deliver on their promises and leaves a handicapped person without heat over a weekend. Stay away from this company!
Scott Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc
Scott Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc. did a bid to replace my water main. I accepted the bid and work started about a week later. After just one day of work, the crew left. I called to find out what was going on and they told me the crew leader had a baby and went back to Idaho. I waited for a couple of weeks. Then I called again to ask when they would finish the job and they said someone would come out next week. Another week passed. Scott Hale called me and said they wanted to decline the job. I reminded them that they had agreed to do the work and they said the ground was too hard and there were too many tree roots. They also said they were really busy with big jobs and didn't have a crew available. I insisted that they finish the work they agreed to and they said they would charge $20,000, which was over 350% more than the original bid. I told them no way, and I think they purposely gave me a high bid to try to get me to go somewhere else. Scott Hale Plumbing didn't treat me fairly or ethically. A bid is a bid and the job should be done for the bid amount. Maybe it's old-fashioned to think that commitments mean something, but it's clear that Scott Hale Plumbing only cares about profit. I suggest you look for another option. I called *** because they had the second lowest bid and they completed the work as agreed. They were on time and didn't try to negotiate the bid.
Had them come out to do a simple AC Tune-up based on some SPP program they sold me on
Had them come out to do a simple AC Tune-up based on some SPP program they sold me on. That was my first mistake. *** came out for the appointment. Neither my wife nor I like ***. He was brash, rude, and unprofessional. After looking at our 2 AC units, he approached my wife and said there are 2 things. One is mandatory and the other is optional. She said to do just the mandatory, and we will research the optional service. He said under his breath, even though my wife could still hear, "I went to school, I know what the f#%$ I am talking about". He also dropped the word in my basement when he was looking at my AC damper system. He seemed confused like he had never seen one before. Either way, he was toying around with the damper system that I paid $4k to have installed. He said, "Well, hopefully this doesn't short it," as he kept unplugging and plugging wires in and out of it. Then he left and took payment over the phone, which was strange. Did he keep my credit card number that was said over the phone? Later that evening, it began to get warm upstairs. Later, we found out that our AC has been on for hours, but the temperature is not dropping. Warm air is coming from the vents. We went from having working AC units to non-working AC units after using Scott *** SPP service. I texted the number that they texted me on a couple of times informing them of my issues. No response whatsoever after 16 hours. I then called them, and they wanted to charge me $109 for them to come out and fix what they had broken. DO NOT USE SCOTT *** AND CERTAINLY DO NOT SIGN UP *OR THEIR MONTHLY PROGRAM. I now need to do a chargeback on my card.
Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc
Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc. (SHP) replaced our 13 year old central air unit after it froze up. The work was done in June and we paid over $7000. Two months later, the unit had stopped working. SHP informed us that the blower motor (an essential part of the function of the A/C) was not working up to specs and was likely the cause. Though the blower motor is essential to the function of the new unit, it was not replaced as it is shared by the A/C and furnace. The *** manager said that discussion about this normally takes place at the consideration of a new unit. Nothing was mentioned. The technician who came out inspected and cleaned intake vents, made some adjustments and left with the unit running. We have since spoken with the manager of the *** division. He informs us that they would happily install a furnace for us at a reduced rate. (We declined due to lack of confidence.) We have since received calls regarding setting up an appointment for our new furnace installation, having a technician out to check our furnace out as part of our service plan (which we dont have), and today the occupant of our home was contacted directly to give SHP access to our furnace. Today when I spoke with the *** manager. He informed me that the technician who was most recently out had made notes about some things that needed tidying up. The issue of things needing tidying up was never mentioned before and the manager could not tell me specifically what these things were, but mentioned they were for our safety regarding venting and that it was a free service call. After our call, he sent me notes regarding checking the flue. On their website, Scott *** Plumbing identifies themselves as a company you can trust. Unfortunately, we are not certain about this.
Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating Complaints 1
I had a problem with my main sewer line, and Aladdin from Scott R
I had a problem with my main sewer line, and Aladdin from Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc. told me it was broken and needed excavation. They gave me a quote of $7000 for the service. I signed an agreement stating that they would fix the broken line. However, when they started the excavation a few days later, I noticed that the line was not actually broken and there was no water leaking anywhere. I asked Aladdin about this, and he said that the line was clogged and they were going to replace it. I was concerned because I agreed to the service thinking it was broken, and if I had known it wasn't, I would have asked them to hydro jet the line instead. Aladdin explained that there were roots in the line that couldn't be cleared with jetting. I requested to see the roots inside once they opened it up, but they never came to get me. Aladdin assured me that their team would come to hydro jet the rest of the line and scope it so I could see that it was clean. However, I have not received any evidence that they completed the job, and despite my numerous calls to the office and Aladdin, no one has gotten back to me.
