employment
I was hired in 2019, fired 3 weeks after i started. I was fired because i added servpro as my job on facebook. I then learned that many of the employees had the same thing but I was fired. Then I applied again this year I was hired then they found out that I was there before and fired me again. I was a great employee and showed up every day. Ive done nothing wrong. They rehired someone who used a company credit card to pay for drinks at a bar.
Servpro employee
Took a job for Servpro which happened to be one of the employees house he was trying to buy we did all this extra work and finished what needed to be done on time for Servpro. Once I sent the guy Norbert his bill for services done he told them he didn’t want us on his job again and said that the cabinets were not in place which they were until he undid them also said there was sink drain leaking which couldn’t be the house is empty and now he doesn’t want to pay for any work done and also wants to deducted it off Servpro bill which is completely wrong and you guys allow this. This is why you guys can not get people to do the work for you.
Desired outcome: Employees that do just do bids and not labor should not be allowed to touch any work on jobs
Poor service & owner making derogatory statements to me when I complained.
I contacted Servpro & Chris Teeters called me. (Chris Teeters and wife Dawn are the owners of SERVPRO franchise services all of Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa & Chambers Counties.) I explained to him I had a very horrible job I needed a price on cleaning up. I told him it was a house that was more like a kennel, than a house. I told him it was filled with dog feces & other animal poop. I also told him is was full of garbage, scattered all over the floor. I sent him pictures. He said it would be hard to give a price. He said the best he could do was a price per day, with two guys. He asked if there was AC on in the house. I told him I would get it on & keep it on before they arrive. He asked if I would have something for them to put the items, they took out of the house. I told him, I would rent a dumpster, & have it there & ready when they arrived. We agreed on a start day. He said the guys would be there at 9:00 A. M. to start. I met the dumpster guy there at 8:30. I decided to just wait till the Servo pro guys got there at 9:00. I waited until a little after 9, & they still weren't there. I texted Chris, & he just said they had higher paying insurance jobs to do, so they just blew me off. STRIKE ONE. I said so when are you coming to do my Job? He said it won't be today. I said when, I have a dumpster sitting here I am paying rent on. He said he would confirm around lunch time, about the next day. He texted me the next day ( not lunch time the same day as he said he would) STRIKE TWO. He said he would have two guys there at 9:00 the next day & they should be able to complete the job in a couple of days. We agreed on a price of $1500.00 per day for two guys. He asked for a deposit of half today & half at the end of the day.
I agreed & his secretary called & I payed $750.00. I was there at 9:00 A. M. waiting for them. They didn't get there until 9:30. STRIKE THREE. I showed them what I wanted done, & left. I came back around 1:30 & it didn't seem like they had done a lot of work. They were sitting outside on the porch, when I arrived. I asked if they thought they would be able to finish today? They said they were told just to get what they could get done in one day. They also informed me they would be leaving around 3:30 or 4:00 P. M. I was shocked! I didn't realize, when I agreed to a per/day price, it only consisted of five hours of actual work. I left & called Chris. I asked him when was he planning on finishing the job? He said he didn't know>HE SAID HE HAD BETTER PAYING JOBS, THAT WEREN'T AS HARD TO DEAL WITH! STRIKE FOUR. He said it would be Monday or Tuesday & he would give me A 24 hour notice. Monday I also told him I didn't believe I had gotten my money's worth for that day. He asked what I thought was fair? I told him I thought $1200.00 was fair, & he agreed to that. By Monday I hadn't heard from Chris, so I called, left voice mail. No response. I sent a text, about an hour later he responded & said he would get back with me after lunch about their schedule. That didn't happen. STRIKE FIVE ( I think. Hard to keep count). Tuesday morning I tried calling, & of course he didn't answer. Left a message. By 3:20 Tuesday afternoon, I still hadn't heard from him. I sent him a text & asked for him to just let me know something. He sent a text at 4:11 P. M. saying he couldn't come Wednesday. He said Thursday was a good possibility. I asked when could he let me know for sure. He said around 2 or 3.He sent me a text at 3:42 saying he couldn't come Thursday. STRIKE 6.I sent a text back & said So When. He didn't respond. So I sent him a long text telling him how unhappy I was with him & his service , (If you call it that), no response.
Desired outcome: Just an apology & not treat other customers like I was treated.
Wrongful Termination
I have been working for ServPro of Marble Falls and Lampasas for approximately 1 month. On this date, 07/13/2022, I received a call from Tom Mason stating that my background had come back through the corporate office and that my theft charge was grounds for termination. When I was hired, I was told that my background was suitable for employment. I have also been forced to note a half hour lunch break each day on my work log, even if I had not taken a break, I also have not had a day off in the month of employment and the company had permanently placed me on call.
Desired outcome: Compensation for termination, formal apology, review of franchise owner's policies.
You should report them to the labor board. Could pass as discrimination as well as breaking various labor laws. Not only does it sound like a wrongful termination. It also sounds like a pretty shady company. My advice take this above their heads to corporate. If they don’t do anything take it to the labor board. Also did you sign a consent form to do a background check? Most employers have a consent form giving them authorization to run a background check. Otherwise you were wrongfully terminated. You should pursue it.
I work at a Servpro which I would not disclose at this moment and we don't have employee handbooks to know exactly what it is how it is they're bylaws so how do I obtain a copy of employed him
Services, no communication about project
Four weeks ago yesterday (June 13), my home was damaged when the top of a large tree hit my roof and put a hole through my dining room ceiling. Insurance company was contacted immediately and they sent Servpro to do the initial work of tarping the roof, taking out part of my wall and ceiling, and leaving a large dehumidifier and fan. A few days later, the crew came to remove the plastic partition and also the dehumidifier and fan. Since then? Two and a half weeks went by and we had more heavy rain and water that went through the tarps. I complained to Servpro and their project manager came in and plunked another stupid fan in that part of the room. I also spoke with him about getting the roof fixed. He let my son know that they would be coming on Saturday (July 9) to get that done and the rest of the interior work would be completed the following week. Saturday: no call, no show. I've since contacted my insurance company, who has also been unable to reach the local project manager about why they are 'dragging their feet.' This company is an absolute disgrace. Once month later, I'm no further ahead and my home is undoubtedly incurring more damage as a result. I am one step away from either calling a lawyer or outing them to the local media. How is any of this even legal?
Desired outcome: Either cancel the contract with NO billing to me or get the job completed once and for all.
Shady!!
If anyone needs any restoration or remedy avoid Servpro! I have been battling them for a long time! I will just repost my update and review. I'd love to save anyone I can as they are usually recommended by insurance companies and after my recent experience with them their only positive reviews are most likely due to same situation as me. Assuming I am not the only one they offer refunds to only if they can fully silence you.
UPDATE: Servpro finally offered me a refund if I would delete my reviews. They then denied me the full refund because my bbb one could not be fully unpublished! They tried to get me to sign a legal contract covering them but basically screwing me and getting me to agree to non truths... when my attorney recommended a few minor edits and to where I couldn't be sued later for partial bbb info still up due to my complaint they backed out.. Be cautious as this is only paying for refunds to silence those with bad jobs not making right unless any bad job information is removed and only benefiting their reputation! Bad business! I paid them 11k to remedy mold in my attic to keep my family safe. They did the job and missed many areas. After I called and said I would take legal action the supervisor rushed out within 2hrs leading me to believe he was going to make right. However, he followed with immediately voiding my warranty instead due to saying there was new growth and wetness and high humidity. So all they did was decieve me to cover their a**. I've had 5 other companies out and every one has told me the only mold is what still has their scrub marks visible through it where they missed, that the humidity is some of the lowest of all houses in the valley, and even during rain there is 0 wetness. They also used insulation that is not as thick as it should be. The spots totally missed were in corners I heard them arguing over who had to go into and not wanting to while doing the job. I feel stressed out for months now trying to get another company to be willing to come in behind their poor job and coming up with the money to redo a job that they failed to so properly. Meanwhile exposing my kids to mold I paid them to remedy. When you call other remedation ask them how many customers they have been having to fix servpro jobs this month. The number is alarming...
Desired outcome: Refund
Water damage repairs
My grandfather passed away last october from covid and my mother and I inherited his house. A couple months after that, a water pipe burst in the laundry room and water destroyed everything in the house.
Thankfully he still had insurance one the house. We hired servpro and almost everything was going to be paid for by his insurance. We were assured by the project manager (first name patrick) that all pictures necessary for the insurance had been taken, patrick also assured our insurance adjustor that the pictures have been taken.
After getting the run around for a few weeks, the project manager finally admitted to us and the insurance adjustor that none of the pictures were taken or that they were lost. My mother is now out $14,000 out of pocket (out of the not sizeable life insurance policy) and servpro basically told us we are sol. They have already taken out the walls and flooring as well, and we are being told by allstate that that might not be covered now since there are no pictures of that as well. We could possibly be left with a stripped damaged house with no money to fix, all because they didnt take/misplace the pictures they assured us they were taking for the insurance.
This is the east louisville location out of louisville kentucky
Desired outcome: obviously i would prefer them to just come up with the pictures, but regardless we should not be out this money
Unprofessional and unsafe company
ServPro of SmithStation Alabama is very unprofessional and unsafe. They allow their employees to smoke pot and drink alcohol on company time (May 6, 2022, 3:00pm est). Management is unorganized and doesn't know if they are coming or going. Very unprofessional and unorganized management team that treats their employees like they nothing. Their employees work...

ON April 11th we had a water leak and had serv-pro come out due to thier adds of "LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED "boy were we wrong, unprofessional, we had the water picked up before they came, they brought in numerous dryers / fans and a dehumidifier.. They removed base board mouldings leaving them on the floor with nails protruding, they should've been removed upon completion. After two weeks they removed the fans and said the construction department would come to do the base boards, they removed all the baseboards in the closets so everything is on the floor in the hallways and bedrooms causing an obstacle course for my son and his wheelchair. They removed a total of 15 moulding's and now 2 more weeks later we are being told to pay 9600.00 to finish 15 mouldings... This is a ripoff and gouging, they already got paid 4800.00 for blow drying the floor,. This company is committing fraud and needs to be held responsible, they removed the mouldiings knowing they would be delaying the repairs. Disgraceful.
Desired outcome: complete refund of monies received by serv-pro to the insurance company and the homeowner . and an Apology for leaving us with these living conditions due to their companies policies and unprofessionalism..
Pay
I worked at Servpro White Plains [protected] from October till the end of February and I have yet to receive my last pay check. Under NYS law it is illegal for an employer to with hold the last pay check from an employee under any circumstance. Please have my checked mailed asap or I will be filing an IS223 Form to the department of labor. Kathleen Marshall. My last work day was February 24th today is March 30th and I have not received my pay.
Desired outcome: To receive my paychecks
Servpro of Largo Billing for Items not Provided
On 8/16/21, I accepted Servpro's response to my previous complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau, expecting they would move forward as promised to complete repairs to my home in a timely manner and adjust the bill. The General Manager did meet with me, and they provided me with a revised agreement for repairs, which I accepted. I was finally able to move back into my home, even though they didn't actually complete repairs until 11/3/21. Before they completed repairs, however, they sent me an invoice for 50% more than the revised agreement. When I questioned the amount of the invoice, the Project Manager responded that they had an old estimate in the system, and that they would never charge me more than what we agreed to. However, he also said they would be adding additional charges for electrical and for the bathroom vanity, which, although I have questions about these items, I did not argue. Unfortunately, I then received the final bill where these items were added to the incorrect bill, and included items I did not receive (only 3 bi-fold doors were replaced, not 4, the baseboard in the HVAC closet has not been replaced, and my master closet is NOT the same size as my living room)—authorized or not. I have emailed and telephoned the Project Manager, the General Manager, and the company owner trying to straighten out this issue, but no one seems to want to respond or correct the errors. I want the bill corrected so I can pay what I owe. I do not want to pay for services I did not receive.
Desired outcome: Corrected invoice
ServePro and James Ox scumbags!
Had a tiny kitchen fire that I put out myself. Called fire department to remove the smoke. It was all clear in about 10 minutes. Servpro came to my door using implied consent to enter my home. James Ox told me how he owned Servpro and Superior Cleaners. BS! I walked him through the house and explained how paintings, electronics and Musical instruments had...

That's happening when they brought it back into my room. I had to instruct them to reverse: they had the setup wrong and had to turn it around. That is when the damage occurred.

$150 charge for estimate - refusal to reimburse
Servepro of Beverly/Cape Ann

To: Company Owner
Re: Request for refund
Date: November 3, 2021
You responded to my request to look at my mother's basement mildew problem and charged me $150 because "there might be mold". I thought this was unreasonable, as no mold had been identified, but as Servepro had a good reputation I paid the fee, to be refunded if the job was done. I fully intended to hire your company.
Your team arrived at my mother's home in good time, on Thursday, Oct 21. Danny and his associate looked at the job and he asked if a test for air mold had been done (no). This was his explanation for the $150 fee, but if there was no such evidence of mold, why did I have to pay up front for an estimate? First hint of trouble.
We discussed mildewed wallpaper removal; Danny said they had never done that before. Second sign of trouble. The scope of work was to remove wallpaper, clean the carpets and all hard services on the finished side of the basement. On the unfinished side, the work was to include removal/disposal of the old freezer, and some kind of anti-mildew spray treatment. I asked how soon I could get a quote and was told by end of day Friday, the next day.
The quote didn't arrive Friday night as promised (third sign of trouble). After calling the office the following week to ask where the quote was, I was told that quotes are never delivered in the timeframe I was promised, that they are done on Mondays. However, I didn't receive the quote that Monday, October 25. I finally received it on Wednesday, October 27th.
The format of the quote seemed be the output of some internal estimating system. No mention of the freezer removal, no labeling as to which rooms were 1, 2 and 3, no mention of the cleaning of the sofa.
I called the office to request a callback to discuss my questions. No return call for severaly more days. I then emailed the office at [protected]@serveprobeverly.com on November 1, requesting a callback at 3 or 4:00 that day. No reply to my email, no call back. Now I am truly thinking I called a disorganized, poorly managed business that takes little interest in customer/prospect satisfaction.
As a last resort, I called your office on November 3. Tanya said she passed on my requests and that the crew was "very busy". I don't care how busy you are - an email takes about 4 seconds to reply to. She said Danny did call me, but I had zero record of an attempted call or message on my cell phone. I now had reached the end of my rope, and after all the bad signs I decided to cut my losses and find a more professional firm for the job.
After I told Tanya this, she had Danny call me, and he started in, very defensively, with "I called you on…". As he was obviously not trained in dealing with customer issues, I terminated the call.
I respectfully ask that you refund the $150 my elderly mother paid for the quote. You can of course choose to not honor this request and my recourse isn't going to be powerful, but I can write to the National ServePro and BBB if I have to.
I sincerely hope you will do the right thing.
Sincerely,
Judy Kauffman

Desired outcome: Refund of $150
Broken garage disposal.
Servpro employees cleaned my kitchen after a small house fire. One of the workers used my garage disposal and broke it. The disposal is seized up totally broke. I tested the disposal myself with the rest button and checked the the power source all was in working order. I then took off the boot of the garbage disposal and discovered a small decorative butter knife in the the disposal all bent up. It appeared someone was sloppy with there work and used the disposal with a the knife inside and broke the disposal. I called customer service and no one picked up after 30 minutes on hold. It's totally unexceptable that I was on hold for 30 minutes with no help at all. I want my garage disposal replaced. Thank you Erik Beschen
Desired outcome: Replace my garage disposal
Mediation
ServPro scratched my wood floors with their heavy dehumidifier. They claim they are not at fault and won't return my calls. The damage was not there prior to the equipment brought in by ServPro and they took $2200 payment. I have contacted ServPro on multiple occasions and no one answers the phone. I have left multiple voicemails and my calls are not being returned.
Desired outcome: Payment to me to repair damaged floors.
Service
had a water leak in Feb or March. Everything was going along okay until the rebuild, flooring and plumbing.
I called Servpro who is in charge about finishing the work. They told me it was customary for me to pay them for.what they had done even before they finished and.my insurance company agreed. I was not in agreement because I felt like they may not finish. But I paid them over 11, 000 only needing to pay them 1500 more. The floor is not down correctly it has air pockets in places, the plumbing is not finished and all my light covers done plus the light in the bathroom, blinds hung, a couple of places still need the plugs put back in and my smoke alarm put back. I paid them about 3 weeks ago, have let them know about the floor. 2 weeks ago the plumber was out and made an error it took over a week to come back, now he has the pipe too short and who knows how long that takes. He still Hasnt been back. Also a window was broken and wouldn't close now it's closed but bent and will mot open. They need to replace that. All they say when I called was you haven't paid us. Well they are paid and this has been long enough.
Desired outcome: FINISH THE JOB
Tarp service on roof cause more damage to roof and forced me to buy a whole new roof.
We filed a claim with our insurance, State Farm, pertaining to a leak on a roof. We had a quote that we could partially fix the roof for $9200 to repair the leak. State Farm offered to send ServePro to tarp the leaking portion of the roof. State Farm had ServePro call us to set up an appointment for the service. When the contractor came to complete the job they tarped the wrong side of the roof. We called them to inform them they tarped the wrong side and they need to redo it. They came and tarped it incorrectly again. We had to call them a third time and they tarped the whole entire roof although they only needed to tarp one corner. It was a job that if done correctly should have only cost $500 - $1000 at the most. Due to the contractors tarping our roof numerous times in many spots, the whole roof was damaged. Before we only needed to repair half our roof and now we needed to repair the entire roof for $14800. When our claim was settled with our insurance they only gave us $5700 which did not even cover half our repair. Servepro informed us that State Farm was covering the bill for their service. Now a month later, Servepro billed us for $4200. We had already spent the money the insurance sent us to repair the roof. We explained to Servepro that their contractors were extorting us and were charging 4 times the amount for the work. The agents for Servepro yelled at us, insulted us, and out right stated that they would not assist us. We told them their contractors caused more damage resulting us have to get more repair work. They refused to give us their liability number. We had spend all our savings to repair the roof. Servepro is extorting us for money and is now threatening to put a lein on our home. I would have never agreed to this service if I knew this was the experience I was going to receive.
Desired outcome: To amend the bill to cover only the cost for the portion of the roof that was leaking. Remove the charges when the contractor covered the wrong portion of the roof. To cover the damages to the roof by the contractor.

Re: Servpro Lake Geneva, WI,
November 23, 2020 Servpro delivered our furniture damaged, couch, chair and TV stand along with missing household items. Commemorative coin, two pizza pans, cast iron grill for the stove, and stroller. I questioned Eric Horvath, Project Manager as to what happened to our furniture, I was told "They (Servpro) did not damage it, it was like that." Our couch and chair were only six months old when Servpro removed it, no tears, rips in the fabric. Now, both couch and chair have tears in the fabric, the chair has a hole in the fabric. The back of the couch cover is loosened. We tried to get Servpro to fix the furniture, replace the fabric no results. The TV stand had caster wheels on it, when Servpro removed it. Upon returning, the caster wheels were broken off, Servpro told us " They were not reasonable due to it was altered."
I spoke to Jessica Steffek, Accounts Receivable regarding our damaged furniture, TV stand, and missing items. Jessica advised me of a balance due $4, 975.11. Again, I questioned the damaged furniture, TV stand and missing items, Jessica replied "Servpro was not responsible for damages, all items were returned." Have documenting pictures damaged furniture.
I tried for months to come to an agreement with Servpro, regarding reducing the balance and fixing the furniture. We offered to take off $900.00 for furniture. Whenever I reached out to Jessica, regarding the balance or fixing furniture, Jessica's reply back was she had to talk to the owner Tim. The next reply I received from Jessica, was June30th, 2021 stating she was still waiting for a reply from the owner Tim, regarding $900.00.
The last response I received from Jessica, was July 30th, 2021 stating Tim (owner) was willing to reduce our bill by $750.00, due to our "couch was previously damaged" and that was their final offer. New balance was now $4, 025.11. If payment was not received by August 9th, 2021 we would be taken to small claims court.
Granted, I understand Servpro uses scare tactics to recover monetary funds: does that also include not taking responsibility for negligent work performed? What happened to Servpro' slogan "Like it never ever happened?"
John and I decided to pay the balance $4, 025.11, Invoice #5258578 and not risk small claims court. As a result of Servpro' negligence handling our furniture and personal property, John and I feel Servpro should refund the $4, 025.11 for our aggravation.
Desired outcome: ServPro refund us $4,025.11 for damaged furniture and lost items
Unethical business practices
Our company went to Plano TX for Servpro of Summit, Park, Eagle County (CO) from Denver. We provided labor to perform water damage demolition on many houses in the area. 5 other companies went with us. We were set up as a Servpro vendor, and promised 70% of insurance estimate or hourly rates for labor (whichever was greater), along with reimbursing materials/equipment we had to purchase.
At completion of the work, the Servpro office reneged on every promise, made a $50, 000 settlement with the smallest of the 5 companies, and listed the rest of us as HIS subcontractor, even though none of us had any agreements with anyone but Servpro!
I alone had 13 workers there, with a $27k a week in just payroll, plus materials and equipment. We received not one dime; Servpro's PM (who is also one of the owners of this franchise) ghosted all of us as soon as his work was complete. Our company alone paid $110, 000 out on Servpro's behalf; more than twice the settlement they paid to the tiny contractor with one single employee.
Servpro isn't just a fraud on the homeowner end, they are a fraud on the contracting end as well. Servpro has a horrifyingly bad reputation for this in the remediation industry. The number of people I have come across who have had similar experiences with them is simply staggering. Last statement I heard? "There are a lot of thieves in the remediation industry. Most of them drive green trucks." Hell of a reputation you're developing there...
If you can't accomplish your work without cheating people, you should probably find another line of work.
And even though this Servpro office made us transfer all our employee timesheets onto Servpro paperwork, I can damn sure show who PAID those workers. I have complete closeout packets of every purchase, every hour worked, every certification, and every communication directly with Servpro.
Not sending text or email data until I actually talk with someone from Servpro. I'd like to get this resolved amicably, but have to be prepared if it goes otherwise.
Desired outcome: Paying for the work done would be nice. Paying for the labor would be acceptable. Contact from Servpro's franchising office or management for start
