advertisement for sportsbet
Ad was run this evening at 6.36pm on Friday, 16 March 2018. Ad showed man in bath doing something to his groin area. Adults could assume he was shaving his genital area; young children watching wouldn't know what to think!
1. Incredibly inappropriate advertising for this time shot; and just plain disgusting for us to watch. I think it was supposed to funny; way off the mark!
2. Blatant encouragement to waste money on betting on sports events.
Very poor judgment by your advertising department.
To add insult to injury, you ran an ad at 6.38pm for Ladbrokes!
poor coverage of winter paralympics
Hi I called the Brisbane Channel 7 studio this morning to find out when and on what channel the winter paralympics would be telecast having had extreme difficulty trying to find it for myself and with the understanding that there would be 2 highlight packages one in the morning and one in the evening.
While polite I was stunned to find that it was to be telecast at midnight and then at 12.30 am!
Surely Channel 7 could do better than this after bragging that they would be providing cocerage as the first commercial channel to do so.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Totally agree. Our Paralympians deserve just as much coverage as our Olympians they have put in the same amount of training in some cases more to get to where they are and they deserve the recognition. I was looking foward to watching it to find out they are only showing highlghts at ridiculous times.
basil zempilas
Sadly I turned on Weekend Sunrise this morning to find Basil as the main compare. I turned straight to channel 9 where I will now watch on weekends.
So many of my friends feel the same, Basil does not have the knowledge to compare the likes if the Australian Open Womens final, the Olympic Games, Aus swimming trial recently telecast on 7.
Often I cringe at the commentary and ridiculous questions asked by Basil when interviewing people.
I am so irritated by him I will always watch another channel where ever possible
Check your ratings on weekend sunrise I bed there are thousands of people like me who will find an alternative

winter olympics
Thursday 15th February Jacki cooper was commentating on the evening session of some sort of downhill skiing when she said next competitor is..not sure which one of the Chinese competitors she is, they all look the same. Highly offensive. Why does the public have to be politically correct and your staff make such derogitory comments. In this climate it is not acceptable.
sportsbet advert
Disgusting Sportsbet ad on Channel 7 12:21pm 1st March 2018 depicting naked man shaving or doing something to his private parts. This is completely inappropriate to have on daytime TV. Remove the ad! As an adult I don't want to see it, never mind showing it to kids! I would prefer to have all gambling ads removed but if you have to have them and if they have the "right" to do so then at least ban inappropriate content.
Remove it and show that the Complaints Board upholds standards. Do you need to see complaints before you act? Or are you free to apply your own judgement? Wow.
It’s a sick advertisement. Would make the Sportsbet CEO’s family proud, I’m sure...
olympic coverage
Ads in the middle of a gold medal game is unacceptable. Channel 7 (olympicson7) should never again be allowed to cover any important games events. They also cover up the stats in between periods for the Ice Hockey with a logo at the bottom of the screen with a msg that says "MORE ACTION TO COME", as if the people watching the game don't know. Missed both goals from both teams within 10 seconds apart in the 3rd period due to ads. I personally Hate you channel 7 and wont be watching any programs with channel 7 again. Boycott
the interview
Whilst watching the winter olympics on 7mate at 9:05pm the program changed to a young Korean girl singing in Korean with English subtitles. The songs words were extremely offensive and were about Americans being killed and women being raped and eating their own blood and faeces. It then had an explosion in the background and missiles being launched and "news flashes" with reporters talking. It was perceived as a real attack occurring and being reported. I found it extremely offensive and in extreme bad taste given the current world climate and that the Olympics are currently there.
my kitchen rules
I would like to voice my concern about the content of this season's production of My Kitchen Rules. I used to watch this show religiously as I enjoyed seeing ‘home cooks' showcase their skills, as well as the diverse cultures that brought foods to the show that I hadn't seen before.
The content (and the pre-advertising) is now all about contestants being nasty to each other and bullying other participants.
We are unfortunately now in an era, where some of kids are deeply affected by bullying to the extent that some take their own lives. We wonder where kids learn that kind of bullying behaviour - I'm sure shows like this aren't helping. I will not let my kids watch this show because it sends the wrong message about how people should treat each other.
Hey, each to their own, but maybe this show would be more suited to a later time slot.
winter olympic coverage
Guys your coverage of the Winter Olympics is terrible. Why do you think we all like to continuously watch the aerials skiing? When there are more popular sports/events on? Cant you tell by the half a dozen people in the crowd at the aerials skiing that surely the entire qualifying session shouldn't be on prime time tv?
Coverage of the snow boarding events was great but please show more variety.
olympic coverage
How about when you advertise the men's downhill skiing as coming up next that you actually put it on next 15/2. Now I've gone to bed late and cranky and I have to get up early in the morning and operate a motor vehicle. I'll probably also spend heaps of money tomorrow because I've just sat through about 10 ad breaks. Do you know the meaning of the word 'next'.
winter olympic coverage
Hello
I need to voice my disappointment of your current coverage of Winter Olympics. Perhaps you do not know, but there are more sports involved than what you keep repeating on three different channels and at the same time.
These moguls etc. might interest a lot of people, but your are totally ignoring a lot other sports.
Is it possible to actually telecast three different sports on three different channels and at the same time?
Surely someone over there has some intelligence to recognize that, well if you do not, try surfing on your channels. It is quite nauseating to watch and hope that the telecast may improve, but I have given up. Also your app is not working, I tried to download it a number of times and every time it would let me in. So in my believe you have totally stuffed up this whole thing.
What a waste and hopefully Channel 7 will not be involved any future Olympics game telecasts.
Other thing, I hope someone would receive this, I may be on wrong web page, but this is the one I found after a while searching for one.
Regards
Juha Askola
Yes, definetly. the Olympics broadcast by Channel 7 is a discriminatory one sided event. Aimed at making stars out of mediocre participants to boost viewer quotas. The Olympics are an event of the whole world, and one would think ..hold in front of a half empty staium. Ta multicultural country like Australia would dwell in that. But nothing like that. We are fed Snowboarding a ll day long with little glimpses of what else could be. Just now the showed the first 15 racers of the womans giant slalom and than switched to one of the most boring event of the games...the time trials of the snowboarder single cross.
my kitchen rules - inappropriate music track au
In the program aired at 7pm on Sunday 11th February the music track in the background was a vocal about "mother [censor]ers that had no balls". Such a music track is inapproriate at any time on any day but becomes a huge issue in childrens hours and when the sub titles show music track words very clearly. The editor should be disciplined for even considering such a track and particulalry for using it. Get your act together channel seven.
my kitchen rules - sunday night
The program My Kitchen Rules, aired appalling racial slurs against the Vietnamese host on Sunday night. A contestant said something along the lines of "We're definitely hoping there's no domestic pets on the menu tonight" - This is a disgusting racial stereotype that no network should promote
It is also completely in breach of the code of practice:
-2.6.2
A Licensee must not broadcast any Program, Program Promotion, Community Service Announcement or Station ID which is likely, in all the circumstances,
-To provoke or perpetuate in, or by a reasonable person, intense dislike, serious contempt or severe ridicule against a person or group of people because of age, colour, gender, national or ethnic origin, disability, race, religion or sexual preference.
Something must be done about Channel 7 board casting blatant racism
unethical behaviour
The program My Kitchen Rules, aired appalling racial slurs against the Vietnamese host. As a network you have a duty of care to your hosts and the public not to broadcast racism and discrimination.
You're completely in breach of the code of practice:
You need to realise that what you air effects your image.
It's 2018, it's time to stand up against racism
7 mate
7 mate has started airing the big adventure again this would make it the 3rd or 4th time that I've seen it, why it wasn't that good the first time around I can't see it getting any better. I would really like to see some new instead of repeats after repeats. Like ultimate factory's there seems to be only 2 episodes played over and over. Surly there are more than that you can air. Mix it up please cause I'm on the verge of not watching at all.
channel 7 tennis women's final commentary
Watching the men's tennis final and listening to the knowledgeable and interesting commentary from courier and Hewitt. I can't say the same for the women's final last night. Why is basil who has nothing of interest to contribute to the conversation a lead commentator for this final when we could have had an ex player like Molik providing much better insights. The commentary last night or lack there of was terrible. There seemed to be a lot of silence and not much commentary.
Could the commentators please refrain from talking during play and also talking between serves. It is not about them and they detract from the tense, exciting pauses and the whole match. These interruptive comments are a sin in the tennis protocol. The spectators have to be silent, so who deigns the commentators do not have to follow suit.
tennis
It is extremely annoying to not see the entire game because they run adds.
It's not ok to come back to the game and find as we did to night we had missed a whole service game whilst adds were being shown
It has become routing to come back and find it is 15:0 or 30:0. Fans won't stand for this and hc well 7 need to be held to account if they are gaining the rights to televise, then they show every game every point!
Yes completely agree. Missed most of a Federer service game because 7 was showing ads - very frustrating! Also frustrating was the split screen interview with some ex-footballer which meant the tennis was next to impossible to watch. Next time this happens I am switching off!
sportsbet advertising during australian open
I am appalled that we are being subjected to Sportsbet ads during the Australian Open. I always thought Tennis Australia was a more ethical organisation when when it comes to choosing who can advertise on their much watched Australian Open coverage.
Tennis is a game that is played by young and old and gambling has the capaci to hits and hurt many families, especially when it advertises how easy it is to place a bet via their app.
I found this advertising very tacky and I call on Channel 7 and Tennis Australia to find a more appropriate sponsor in 2019.
australian open coverage
I would like to complain about the ad breaks taken during the tennis. At change of ends there is an ad break and we don't come back to the tennis until after the first point of the game has been played on a regular basis. At 7.40pm on Wednesday 24th January, there was an ad break that brought us back to the tennis after three points had been played. This is not good enough! I realise it is very expensive to televise these events and you need ads to pay for this but it is so very annoying to miss so much of the tennis.
During the Federer v Chung semi final match, Channel 7 missed the entire first game of the second set due to adverts. Seems they are not learning but getting worse. Then in the 3rd game of the same set, the viewer was subjected to an Adam Goodes interview, whilst the game was going on in a reduced size screen..
australian open tennis coverage disgraceful!
Your coverage of the tennis has been disgraceful. Too many ads during the matches. The number of times that starting points of games are missed because of an ad you have already shown thousands of times during the tournament is immensely frustrating. Along with the split screen promotions during play! We do not have a choice to watch the tennis through any other provider to avoid your shameless advertising. If I could switch I would. Your App is good but that requires usage of data that I do not have and shouldn't have to have because you should feel some sort of responsibility to provide good coverage for the fans. Shame on you Channel 7!
