Sharp.com Mixed Experience at Sharp HealthCare

My experience with Sharp HealthCare was a mix of positives and negatives. The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed. However, the waiting times were quite long, and the communication about the process could be improved. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, which was a plus. Overall, it was an average experience.

Sharp.com Be cautious

Be cautious. Staying overnight at a hospital can result in receiving bills from specialists several months after being discharged. I was under the impression that my insurance covered all expenses, but I later received a separate bill from the doctor six months later. These charges were not covered by my insurance because they were considered out of network. Therefore, even if the physician is employed by Sharp and Sharp accepts your insurance, the doctor may still have additional charges that are not covered by your insurance network. This practice seems misleading and unjust. It is always advisable to inquire with the doctor or specialist about their acceptance of your insurance.

Sharp.com I went to the office for my free annual physical

I went to the office for my free yearly physical check. When I booked the appointment, I was clear that I wasn't ill and just wanted the physical check. At the front desk, I said again that I was there only for the check-up. After the doctor met me, she saw I had no pain or sickness, so she examined me quickly and then began asking about my past hospital stays. I told her about my hearing loss condition I've had for 20 years and that I might need new hearing aids. Right away, she suggested I visit an audiologist, and I agreed. But, when I got back home, I found out they charged me more than $300 for my "free physical." I called to complain, and they told me that because I spoke about my hearing loss, it was no longer a physical. I talked to their coding department, who were very disrespectful and laughed at me, saying they had to charge me because I mentioned a problem. It was a very bad experience.
