Billing for services not ordered
I just found out from our new account manager with AT&T that we'd been getting charges on two of our phone lines by this Silv Comm, through USBI. Through AT&T, we'd already had a deal on all 10 of our lines for unlimited long distance for a flat rate, but I never noticed that this new charge started appearing with the February bill. We'd recently switched back to AT&T after a brief time using another service, but the bills look a bit different now with AT&T and I'm sure that added to me not noticing. Neither I nor the administrator of our nursing home authorized any changes to be made, and I'm very careful when listening to folks trying to scam me. I've heard quite a few good ones over my 11 years at this job. I usually have a bit of fun with the "We're with the copy machine . . . " scammers before they get frustrated and hang up. Somehow these guys managed to get their hands on 2 lines and charge us almost the same fee for 2lines as we were getting charged for all 10 lines combined for long distance. Be careful out there.

manipulative sales tactics
A few months ago, I received a call from someone on behalf of AT&T. The sales representative asked if we were satisfied with our phone service, and if we were interested in additional savings on our long distance plan. Of course we were interested, what small business wouldn't be?
The salesman had me say my full name, and quickly asked me a number of questions about our phone services, which I said yes to. I didn't question the person worked for AT&T. Why would I? They called me, and I had spoken to AT&T that morning.
Today the owner called AT&T about adding an additional phone line to our business. AT&T pointed out to him that we have two long distance plans, and one is with another provider, Silv Communications. The owner called Silv and was informed that I authorized the long distance plan, and that even had a recording with me stating my name and authorizing the change in our services. When he asked to hear the recording, they said it would take 3 to 5 days. He was then given another number to call and speak to a supervisor. He called and during the conversation, the supervisor hung up!
What company operates by deceiving one customer after another, and then avoids handling the complaints their shady business brings them?
I'm placing a complaint on here, with the FCC, Georgia's and California's Attorney General.
Fraudulent Charges
I called AT&T on an entirely different matter and they told me that my long distance carrier had been switched to another carrier. I asked them to switch it back for me and to put a block on my account so that this would not happen in the future, they complied. The following month I get a bill attached to my AT&T bill from SILV Communications. It seems that they pre-bill for their services and so even though I had only been switched for 5 days they charged me for a full month. When I called a month later to ask for a refund for the other days that I had not been on their service they told me that since I had only cancelled the service with AT&T and not called them directly it wasn't actually cancelled and I was billed for another month. So the total was now $380.
I started to get frustrated and asked who from my company actually authorized the switch to their service. They said that they would play back the recording for me. They played it back and there was a woman who said that her name was Sarah Mulligan and that she worked for my company and that she was authorized to make changes to the account. WE HAVE NEVER EMPLOYEED A PERSON BY THAT NAME! We are a very small company of 5 people and I am the owner and president and the only female that was working for the company at the time the switch occured. I was completely appauled to here someone say that they worked for me and that they were authorized to make changes to my account. When I told the rep at Silv that no one with that name has ever worked for us she said that she would discuss the matter with her supervisor. She came back in less than a minute and told me that she was now able to refund the total amount that had been charged for the two months but it might take two billing cycles to see the refund. I am currently waiting for the refund.

scam
I received a call from John Anav stating he was from AT&T my current provider, and was offering a 35% discount on my phone service to keep me with AT&T. I asked him a few times if he was really from AT&T when I heard him say Silv communications. When I asked what it was, he said that was the name of the discount, but that it is AT&T. I literally said well I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed, and he assured me he was from AT&T. The he told me I had to use "yes" or "no" when answering questions, and read about 3 of them very quickly. I kept interrupting him asking him to repeat what he said slowly. He finally did after 3 tries. He then gave me a phone number for customer service, which I again had to ask him to repeat slowly. He also gave me an address. While I was on the phone I ran a search on Silv communications to see if it was a scam... I didn't find anything of merit. Then after about an hour later, I typed in the phone number he gave me at the end and found this site. I knew it! So I called the number and spoke to "Karen" who told me it hadn't gone through yet, and she would cancel it when it comes up for the sale. I told her John Anav lied to me blatantly, and she said the people who call are telemarketers and she doesn't know what they say. She gave me a confirmation number of our call, so I will have to check back in another day or so to make sure nothing was charged to me. I hate scammers!
My experience was a good one. When I called to find out who authorized the service, I was given the information regarding my employee. When I discussed it with the person in my office who authorized it, they (My employee) had made the decision because they thought it was a better value for me. It got me out of a bad situation and into monthly plan with unlimited calling instead of per minute. They knew that it was a company different from my current long distance one and since there was no contract or cancellation fees, they thought they would try it. I was very happy with my employees initiative just wish they would have told me they had done it so I would not have had to call anyone to find out.
Once again there are companies that are out to fraud you. I received my Qwest bill with a USBI attached indicating that I owe Silv Communications.
Early February 2009 I received several calls telling me they were from Qwest. The first two calls it sounded like they were Phishing so I told them so. I let my guard down on the third call and thought the caller was from Qwest...which he indicated several times that he was.
About a week after I spoke with the so called Silv employee I called Qwest regarding some questions about my account. Thats when I was asked If I knew I had changed to another local and long distance provider. I indicated that I did not. I was told by Qwest that this fraud has been going on for some time and they could not do anything but give me a number to Pic Freeze my phone numbers.
I will not be fooled again...I spoke with Mike Davis (if that is his name ) the Head of Customer Service and he said that the recording indicates I agreed with all terms. One thing that was missing was the fact that this telemarketer did say he was from Qwest.
It is time that our government steps up and makes some changes so that these companies cannot get away with the fradulent activities. Another avenue would be a class action suit...but we all know that this company would not be around for that.
Stop complaining and get a life
You are jobless because you are lazy. Stop blaming hard working people for your misfortunes. I have worked for Khanna Communications and they are a third party verification company. My Abi Khanna is a fair boss and has had the same people working for him since he started his business. There are some who get comfortable and have been fired for misrepresenting themselves. Sounds like your friend fits in that catogery.
Stop hating, get off your butt and get a job.
Same thing happened to me. Said they were att&t. then I ask the rep to confirm twice more that they were not a third party and they assured me they were from att&t. They caimed all att&t business lines were being reduced due to a better att&t package and I agreed. When they transferred the line to another person to verify my agreement it was very vague and fast and I was not allowed to question the confirmation rep as she stated she could not answer any questions. If your phone company is a good provider they should credit you but they cant remove silv you must call and do it. Dont have anything to do with silv or USBI because all USBI does is represent these fraudulent companies. I even called USBI to tell them silv is commiting fraud and they said that was my opinion. I dont know about you but if I ever see a USBI page in my bill again Im quitting that service.

I'm sorry for what happened to you with you and your business. I had a friend that worked there for like 6 months and they would tell me everyday how bad she felt but needed the money. Look I want to make this easy for you all. The man's name behind this ABI KHANNA. He is located out of 7033 Sunset Blvd. swt 210. Los Angeles, Ca. He has like 5 or 6 people that do this slamming. Calling and posing as a employee of phone company. He treats people horribly and has no respect for law/employees. Anyways the name of the business that's slamming/verifications is Khanna Communications. Hell all you have to do is file a complaint with FCC let them now the info and tell them alls they have to do is show up and investigate and pull the tapes. The only thing is, is that tape will only have the verifications on them, obviously not the beginning of the conversation saying there calling from the local company and discounts and so forth. Well since they are doing verifications I guess the FCC could see that there are no calls being transferred to do verifications just by being there via inspection. This is horrible and I'm tired of scammers getting rich while I sit here jobless. Please someone do something about this cause its past the point of forgiving. I know I'm dropping a bomb but someone has to do it. Hope this helps
Unfortunately it took me a few months to notice the fraud. I have my bank account automatically set up to pay Verizon for our phone bill. We don't have long distance so it is the same amount every month. Then I got a notice saying I was $160 past due. Curious, I checked out my phone bill and had the mysterious USBI charges from SIlv Communications. One for a business line and another for an additional business line. Um...I don't have a business. The woman on the phone was fairly helpful until I asked her to credit me with the entire amount (jan - may charges) She told me "by law we can only refund 3 months worth". WHAT!? Knowledgeable enough to know that kind of law does not exist, I told her so and said legal action will be taken if the full amount is not credited. Also helps my husband is a lawyer with the federal government. Then she needed proof I had been charged for those months because their systems only keep up to 3 months of billing detail. WHat kind of company purges their billing records after 3 months? This is so obviously fraud it's unbelievable. All you have to do is call them out and be forceful that you are aware this is complete fraud and a scam and they will refund your money.
The same thing happened to me but they said one of my employees agreed to the plan. They refuse to credit me back. Verizon is the one who alerted me to this scam.
Fraud/Misrepresentation
Just like previous complaints here, SILV Communications called at my new business. They said they were from AT&T and that a mistake had been made and they needed to reconfirm my long distance carrier. I asked them several times if they were AT&T and they said yes.
The long distance part of my phone bill should have been $40 from AT&T (flat rate bundle) but when I got the bill it listed SILV Communications as the carrier and the amount was $133.
I called SILV [protected], Robin) and they said I needed to write a letter to Silv Communications, 3460 Wilshire Blvd, STE 1103, Los Angeles, CA 90010; this was the only way to dispute the charge.
She then played a recording of the supposed transaction - the recording was some woman that sounded nothing like my voice - not even close! I laughed and told the lady nice try.
Bottom line I am writing the letter and complaining to as many agencies as possible.
If someone calls saying they are from a company, hang up and call the company directly - don't take their word for it.

Fraud
Like the others before, I was contacted by a man who said he was an AT&T representative, my current phone provider. He represented himself as an AT&T rep. while offering me a discount on my long distance and other phone services. He stated the long distance would be provided by Silv Communications. Two months later my AT&T bill arrived with crazy charges from USBI...none of these charges were legitimate. When trying to contact someone to discuss the matter, I was given the run around. I was informed the only way to contact Silv Communications directly was through mail. AT&T needs to do something to help protect their customers. Watch out for SILV COMMUNICATIONS!

on 3/10/15, I received the only bill (I hope) with four monthly charges going back to November 2014. Called SILV Comm and they said there had to be an issue with the phone number entered into their system. I am a private person and the phone number is a residential number. Funny enough, the billing name on my phone bill does not match the name on the bill received from SILV COMM. Cust service also said that they do not directly charge the customers. SO WHY THE KECK DID I GET THE BILL FOR SERVICES I DID NOT REQUEST OR AUTHORIZE! Supposedly the account is now taken off their system and no charges are due. WE WILL SEE.
SCAM TOTAL SCAM FIRST TOLD ME THEY WILL GIVE 35% DISCOUNT ON MONTHLY TELEPHONE BILLS, BUT DONT GIVEN ME ANY DISCOUNT APART OF THAT ACTIVATE THE LONG DISTANCE SERVICES.
THEY CALL ME UP ON THE BEHALF OF AT&T..

Slamming
I was contacted by a person that represented himself as a Qwest Representative-He stated that since I was such a good business customer that he was going to reduce my phone bill charges. I repeatedly asked him if he was from Qwest and he stated "Yes, he was and that he was wanting to reduce my monthly business phone charges. " When I received my phone bill, I contacted Qwest and they told me that my long distance had been changed to another carrier and that it had increased my bill by$80.23 a month. I contacted Silv Communications at [protected], I was transferred to a customer service rep for Silva and after speaking with Megan was told to get online and file a written complaint. I am very distressed that in these tough economic times that there are companies that encourage this type of practice in order to do business.

The company I work for had the same thing happen to one of our Verizon accounts. I was able to get Silv to cancel their service but, unbeknownst to me, all the long distance service was canceled. Since I only pay the bill (and am not the one who agreed to Silv's offer), I had no idea that they became the long distance provider. Just be careful when you cancel with them - call Qwest and get your long distance turned back on!
Fraudelent charges
Silv Communications fraudelent charged my account for months. They had a recorded of a peron on my job site that stated they had authorization to make changes and they didnt. I am the only one that has authorization. I requested they cancel my account and credit me back and they didnt. They stated they had the right to fraud me and take my money. I am not happy and want to have a class action suit. they have done this to many people.

Scam long distance charges
This company is a scam. They changed my service from AT&T without me realizing it and racked up huge charges for domestic calls that were under a minute. Their customer service was shady. No phone number was listed to call them to dispute the charges. They use a third party billing service. When I was transfered to them from the billing service, they hung up on me. First, they use telemarketers to call you and get you to agree to something harmless which involves no fees. Then they record your voice answering yes to a bunch of questions which are spoken so quickly, you can't understand a word of what they are saying. I had no idea I was changing my service from AT&T. This was a total scam.

Misrepresentation of Company
I was called by a company that told me they had partnered with AT&T to provide me cheaper rates as Verizon was coming into the area and they wanted to go back and provide their customers with better long distance rates. I fell for it and before long they were recording my birthday as I agreed to their plan. My next months bill that I received from AT&T had a line item from USBI with the number of [protected]. Once I called that number I spoke with a rude representative that would not allow me to speak with a supervisor. I then called back with AT& T 3rd party call and we ended up with the same scenerio where she actually argued with me and the AT&T representative over the fact they had receorded my conversation agreeing to the change of service to their company. However, it was convenient that the lines they used to sell the service was not recorded. She blamed it on an independent marketing company and said since she could not hear the conversation she could not credit my bill. She ended up hanging up on me and the AT&T representative. The AT&T representative told me she could dispute this portion of the bill and had three months to resolve it. The supervisor then played back me agreeing to switch to this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Same thing happened to me today. The exact same thing. When they first called they introduced themselves as ATT and stated that my phone bill would be reduced. And all this was on my small business line. ATT stated they would dispute it on their end but I guess we'll see. I told the UMBI representative straight up that I was not going to pay this bill and it was ridiculous. The UMBI representative was also rude and stated that she a supervisor when I asked to speak with one. Now come on...I've worked in a call center before and supervisors do not sit on the phone and answer calls unless it's crazy busy and even then they hardly sit on the phones. That is just a flat out lie. Oh I'm so mad I need to vent.
Terrible company
Same experience for me as reported by Pissed. Major nightmare, their representative (whose name I have) claimed to be acting on behalf of AT&T and that he was offering me a less expensive plan. Gave me a confirmation and phone number to call back which was actually an AT&T number. Of course when I called they had no idea what I was talking about and no record of the confirmation number. So until the charges showed up on my bill - two months later - I had no way to confirm anything about the plan.
Was supposed to receive something in writing. Never got it. Was supposed to get a very specific credit on my bill. Never got it, and when I finally got a number to call them they stated they 'never give credits and never heard of such a thing.'
WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS!

I was mislead by Silv Communications. The phone call in April was a scam. I asked about twenty times of the oriental speaking lady on the other end if she was SURE that she represented CenturyLink. She assured me everytime that she was. Now I realize that I was hoodooed by a company that I had never heard of. The call was from Williams Comm but was portrayed to have been Century Link. Now I see that my long distance communications are provided by WorldComm and I did not authorize that either!
The corporate people at Silv, except for one lady, have been very arrogant and hard to deal with. A gentleman named Mike Davis should be banned from the communications business. Very, very arrogant and contrary from the start.
I never knowingly switched my long distance service provider. Prior to today I had never heard of Silv Communications. I did NOT knowingly switch my long distance service from CenturyLink. Neither did I switch from Silv to Worldcomm. As far as I knew, we were still covered by Centurylink!
I will join in a class action suit after the way Mr. Mike Davis acted on the phone. I was simply trying to get information and a mutual agreement of resolution! What a jerk!

Telephone slamming
Like many of the complaints I read about, my agency also experienced the same scenario. I just got off the phone with a rep from Silv and told her that I would be contacting any and every agency as well as my local TV consumer reporter. AT&T has been extremely helpful. A rep told me that they get these complaints daily and that they are helpless to do anything about it since the FCC allows this to happen.
Has anyone done anything about contacting their state AG office? And if so has any state filed any complaints?

Slamming Long Distance
I received a call in early January 2009 from a woman who said she was with AT&T (my current local and LD provider). She said that they were offering a discount to current customers to keep them because of some new competition. If I wanted the discount on my services I needed to confirm that I wanted it in a recording. I verbally verified with her several times that I would be staying with AT&T and that she was with AT&T.
Fast forward to my next phone bill - which has $180 in charges from SILV COMMUNICATIONS. "Who's that?" I ask myself - and then slap myself on the forehead! Duh. I'm smarter than this... I swear!
I called the customer service number, explain that the person who made the recording lied and told me they were with AT&T and I would remain with AT&T. The service person said that since I am recorded I am up the creek in terms of a refund. I told her to cancel the service and got a confirmation # for that. (I guess they didn't totally lie to me - I still have AT&T long distance AS WELL as the SILV version!)
So I called AT&T customer service, who was very nice and put the charges into dispute for me. I don't have to pay that part of the bill while they are in dispute. We'll have to see how this all works out... she did make note of the fact that they misled me by telling me they were with AT&T. I'll bet that doesn't make AT&T very happy.

Charges from USBI appeared on our ATT phone bill. We were told they were from SILV Communications, we contacted Customer Service [protected] and spoke with Mike Davis at SILV Communications, they played a recording of a man we did not know, claiming to be our assistant manager and authorizing service . When I said we do not have an assistant manager, not now, not ever, the owner runs the business himself. Mr. Davis said the service was authorized and they will not give a credit, he was rude, sarcastic, called me a liar then he hung up on me. He made it sound like I was the only one who had ever called with this complaint, but obviously I am one of many across the country who have taken the time to report this online. I called back and asked to speak with Supervisor Laura (ext 100) but she also refused to give us a credit. I will call the FCC and file a complaint [protected]
I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit against this company. I spoke with our local AG and she suggested it. Interested?
Wow! The same thing happened to me, I've already written a complaint letter.I talked to the same guy Mike Davis and Rebecca Smith. Both were completely unprofessional--raising voices, yelling over me--very hostile. Will file complaint with FCC.
I had the very same thing happen to me today. I also fell for it because she keep telling me At&t was merging with her company and all I would see was my long distance charges would be less. I called At&t and they told me the information she gave me was wrong. I then call the contact number for Silv and a person there took me off their service and gave me a confirmation number. I then called At&T and had the slamming protection put on the phone line. I should have never fallen for their line.
Fraud and scam
I received a call from a man claiming to be Verizon, offering me a substantial discount on my business long distance. Funny, he didn't know all of my current phone numbers: strike one.
I repeatedly asked him if he was from Verizon and he said 'trust me, I am from Verizon and I'm calling to save you money' -- high-pressure, so that was strike two. I decided to entertain myself by hearing him out.
I told him emphatically that I did NOT want my long distance provider to change, that I wanted no changes made to my account. He asked me a few questions, such as my name, and if I wanted to save money on my long distance. I said 'yes, of course, but again I DO NOT want any changes made to my account.' He assured me again ('trust me') that no changes would be made. Strike 3, good bye.
Fast forward 2 months and I receive a bill with two full months of charges from these companies. I was livid, so I called today to find out how this happened. I was told that somebody with my name had authorized the switch. She then proceeded to play a recording to me, supposedly of the conversation of two months ago.
Here's the kicker that sent me over the top: indeed I did hear my voice say 'Yes': about 12 times, to all kinds of terms and conditions which were never read to me. The recording was OBVIOUSLY copied, cut, pasted, and dubbed using my voice, and the 'Yes' I heard over and over and over was the same exact 'Yes' simply inserted at the appropriate points. I was beside myself!
I accused them of fraud, and threatened legal action only to be transferred to the 'supervisor' named Laura (x100) who told me that if I pursue legal action the charges will not be reversed. I told her to reverse the charges immediately, she agreed, and I hung up, fuming.
I've seen my share of fraud and scams in my day, but this takes the cake. It's insulting to me and it's insulting to the phone industry. And there's nothing like hearing your voice edited to say something you've never actually said. Did I mention I am LIVID?!?

This is Absolutely True and these bunch of ###s also run another scam process named as computech123 where you will be charged $29.99 every month without your knowledge. By calling to customer service you can cancel the svc which gets activated without your knowledge but the customer svc people will say that they have the recording where you claim to activate the svc...This is a pure scam...
And another interesting tidbit. While they use a supposed recording to validate their charges, tell them you are recording the conversation when you call them to have the charges removed and see what happens.
This is exactly how their scam works. They ask you a bunch of irrelevant questions and your answers are dubbed into another recording. These criminals need to be the target of the FCC and phone companies like Qwest that pass through this third party billing with no regard as to its validity are just as culpable and need to be a part of any such class action lawsuit. I review all phone bills monthly for all of our entities -- over 100 total -- and constantly fight this battle. A movement needs to be started to initiate class action lawsuits against these crooks.
Deport SK Golam Ahia NOW. Go back to Bangladesh you thief.
Posing as AT&T and offering lower rates for local and long distance service
Silv Communication posed as AT&T stating they will lower your bill fo local and long distance calling. I admit it, I fell for the scam and did a phone recording of me agreeing to some terms. I just don't know how they got my information and how AT&T allowed them to charge this on my phone bill.
I talked to Silv Communication (USBI shows up on my bill) and they pretty much know that they scammed you and the operator also knows about the complaints. They just offered to cancell my subscription immediately without any refunds of previous bills.
I called AT&T and they also know about USBI, but they said there's nothing they can do about it. I have to settle this with Silv Communication (or USBI) myself. I can't even file a complaint about Silv Communication through AT&T (even though they admit it's one of their partners). The operator knows that I pretty much have been scammed and can't really do anything about it. She did advise me to check back on a later date to see if Silv Communication (USBI) really did cancel my service since it was still showing up in AT&T's system.
What can I do? I've been scammed and AT&T knows, USBI knows, Silv Communication knows. Any ideas?

This may not help much since this person may only be a tech person.
I was "scammed" by them too. My ATT Rep said I should file a formal complaint with the FCC. She said to Google FCC complaints and the form would come right up. She says that they are not allowed to block them unless the consumer specifically calls and asks for a "third party block" so other companies can not bill on their bill. She says she has to deal with what these companies do an a daily basis but there is not much they can do because they have so many customers, and what those companies do by offering services is not illegal. What is illegal is that they say they are ATT. So they need as many people as possible to complain to the FCC to get these companies shut down, and hopefully their tactics illegal. I filled them out for both companies on my bill.
They are crooks! Luckily I caught it after one bill. They wouldn't give me the charges back and neither could AT&T but at least I canceled with them.
I filed a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission of Texas describing the same thing. I received a letter today from them siding with Silv Communications. They said I did agree to change my LD service, which I did not! I also told them I repeatedly asked them if they were from AT&T and the answer was yes, the number on my caller ID was unkown. I wasted my time with the PUC ( they must be getting kick backs), I have sent a letter of complaint to the BBB and will follow up with the . Maybe they can get something done.
I experienced the same thing wtih SILV posing as AT&T! AT&T attempted to return the charges to USBI but the following month the charges showed up again as AT&T does not have control over USBI billing. AT&T advised me this is common and that to stop these people we all need to file "slamming complaints" with the DCC. Mail your complaint to

I have a complaint to file against SILV Communication & USBI. SILV Communication switched my long distance carrier from AT&T under FALSE PRETENCES. Here are the facts supporting my complaint:
1. I have been an AT&T business and residential customer for several years and would not allow a change to my long distance carrier.
2. I received a phone call from SILV Communication CLAIMING THEY WERE AT&T. This is an illegal representation as they were posing as a company they are not. They indicated they were contacting me for a review of my current plan in order to save me money. I specifically asked if they were AT&T and the answer was “yes, this is AT&T”.
3. When I received my 12/17/08 billing statement from AT&T the amount due was exorbenent. I also then noticed a new charge from USBI who handles the 3rd party billing for SILV Communication.
4. On 01/07/09 I contacted USBI and they indicated that I approved the switch of my long distance carrier from AT&T. I advised them that was not the case as whomever contacted me posed as AT&T. USBI transferred me to SILV Communication where the customer service was extremely rude and unwilling to reverse the charges. The manager whom I spoke with, Laura Rivas, even advised me that she was going to make a note on the account to not allow anyone to credit my account. I cancelled the service with SILV Communication (Confo # DS010709L911).
5. On the same day, 01/07/09, I also contacted AT&T and they re-established my long distance service with them. AT&T advised me that they would try to send the charges back to SILV Communication but there was no guarantee that SILV would not bill me direct.
6. On 01/27/09 I received my January 17th billing statement from AT&T and the December charge from USBI / SILV Communication was still reflecting on the bill. I contacted SILV Communication and they indicated that the charge was still my responsibility. Therefore I am making this official complaint.
Please help me to rectify this situation and reverse the $37.34 fee applied by USBI / SILV Communication. I have attached my December & January billing statements. My contact information is below. Thank you for your assistance and response to this matter.
I just had a similar experience, "Att Rep" called and asked if they can credit the account. I was taken off guard b/c the real att was suppose to give me credit for over charging me. After reading this post, i called Att right afterward trying to confirm the conversation but they were not aware of the credit/price reduction. I asked them not to make any changes to my account. So I guess Ill have to wait and see...cant believe i fell for this Bu*(*&*&6 [censored]!
Billing for services never requested
these people from Silv Communications are billing me for services I never requested, approved or otherwise allowed. They collect their funds through AT&T and through a company called USBI. They charged me $92 and the next month $185.24. I filled a complain with the FCC and the Product Service Commission but AT&T clearly plays "innocent" in all this. AT&T makes your illing so complicated and allow so many people to contact you trying to confuse you more, sell you more services you don't need and even have third party callers sell you stuff that you don't even know what hits you. I know I have rejected every single attemp to sell me more stuff but somehow they got through and are now stealing money from me. I checked on google and found out I am just one more in thousands and thousands being scammed by USBI and Silv Communications. I will act and this public report is a first step to stop these people from USBI and Silv Communications from scamming good working people.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Just received a bill from these people. We never even heard of them. The bill was only $41.51 but I knew it was a scam. Called Century Link only to find out that for some reason long distance on our fax number was switched to these scammers. Immediately the usage increased 10 fold. Not sure how that magic happened especially on a dedicated fax line. Disputed the charges with Century Link so we shall see what happens now. Also had Century Link take over the long distance again and block scammers from changing it.
Same story as others, but I am so mad, I need to vent. Business phone rings, they represent themselves at ATT. Tell me they are going to lower my bill because of the competition in town. I ask them several times that they are indeed ATT. "Oh yes..trust me." I should have hung up right then! I consider myself smart, and can't believe I was scammed! They ask you a few normal simple questions that you reply "yes" too. They then record this, cut and paste your voice, and put in their own words later. When you get your ATT bill, you now have a min. $80.00+ charge from SILV communications on it, which you never wanted, or asked for! ATT was quite nice, and will give you the SILV Communications phone number. When you call the SILV number, be aware...they are extremely RUDE! They are mean, and full of lies. This is the biggest scam company I have ever seen. So they tell you you did order the service from them, and they call you in 3-5 days to "prove" it. This is when you hear somebody talking about SILV and asking you if you want the service etc. THEN you hear your own voice saying Yes, because they have copied and pasted your voice. I WAS FURIOUS! I even told ther lady I don't know how she sleeps at night working for this horrible company. She then acted as if she has never heard this "scamming" complaint before from anybody. Where I stand now is ATT charges the amount back to SILV/USBI company. So I am at least in good standing with ATT. The ATT guy did say they will probably take the charges to a collection agency. This is just so unfair, and I can't believe they can get away with this! We work to hard for our money hear to give it away to this fraud. I just hope others read this, and learn about this company. I don't want them to scam anybody else out of their money. They need ot be stopped. They actually do have some law suits out on them now.
I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit against this company. I spoke with our local AG and she suggested it. Interested?

Dispute Department
My dispute is with your company regarding 610.539.2800. I never authorized your company or any other company to switch the long distance carrier as Verizon provides free long distance service. Why would I pay extra for the long distance service?
Your representative misrepresented by stating that they are calling to verify the service and that we could give a discount on your bill. I am not sure how you guys are legally able to CON so many businesspersons who are busy at work. I am promptly looking for a refund for the months I was billed (june – sept.) before this month end.
If no communication is received, I will file my complaint against your company with the FCC, PA state attorney and CA state attorney. Finally, I will join thousands of others who are burned by the same scam at Silv Communications — Billing for services never requested
I am sure you are used to seeing these kinds of rants from people before. How do you continue to work in a place like this?

i am talking to a rep from silv as i write this. she says she is going to listen to the recording where i supposedly agreed to let silv add there long distance to my residential line as well as my business line. she has finally come back on the phone with the recording where i guess i did agree to the salesman for my business line, but it sounded like they added in the res.number to the agreement.(sounded newer and clearer than the rest of the recording) i did cancel and received (we'll see in a month or two) a 3 month credit to my res line only. my business line will have to take a hit i reckon. i just happened to throw out my senators name and that his campaign manager is a friend of mine, and holy cow, a refund for the last 3 months on that 1 line. i will be filing a formal complaint with the nc state attorney and i will talk to my senator's campaign manager about this. USBI handles all the billing and they are in on this also. my phone company, CENTURY LINK, is in on this also. good luck ou there to everyone thats having problems with these leeches. whats bad about all this is i was told that they all have FCC approval to do what they are doing. good luck, Rick owner JIVING JAVA COFFEE SHOP.

I just found out that Silv authorized Qwest to transfer the long distance service for my fax line to William local network. My long distance fax stopped working and relayed the message that our line had been terminated. I have not yet received a bill, but will definitely not pay for this. It makes me angry that someone has the authority to make changes on my account without my knowlege. This is a breech of hippa, and a form of identity theft and should be treated as such.
Silv Communications recently billed our small business for one month of long distance phone service that was not requested. I recall speaking to a tele rep who began his conversation with the statement that he was calling regarding varification of phone service, giving me the impression that he was varifying information about our current telephone service provider. He spoke so rapidly, I was unaware that the purpose of the call was to switch providers.
In addition, call came shorty after we moved the company to a new location, which only reinforced my understanding that the purpose of the call was to varify our current status with our provider. He spoke so rapidly that I was unaware that the purpose of the call was to switch service from our current provider to Silv.
When I called Silv to clarify that I had no intention of switching carriers, their rep provided a play back of the tapped conversation I had with him. (I do not recall that rep even mentioning that the conversation would be tape recorded.
Even after listening to the play back, I could not detect the hidden purpose was to get me to approve the change, nor did the caller make clear to me that the at any time that he was calling on behalf of Silv.
In addition, the total amount billed by Silv for the month was $123.87 for no more than 8 calls which lasted about 2 minutes each.
One more thing... IN ADDITION TO COMPLAINING TO THE FCC AND YOUR STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL, PLEASE LODGE YOUR COMPLAINT TO THE CALIFORNIA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AT http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=CL.
I filed complaints to all 3 agencies online in about 15 minutes. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO STOP THESE LIARS, CHEATS AND THEIVES!
