Simpsons Removals & Storage avoid at all costs

This has got to be the worst ever shipping company in history. We moved from the uk to cyprus in oct 2017 & we stupidly decided to book with simpsons to ship our stuff to cyprus, big mistake. As when we spoke to a guy in the office called ersin for a quote, he sent someone round who took photos of our property & then came back to us within 2 days with what we thought at the time was a very cheap quote & cheaper than the other shipping companies. Now ersin told us that based on the volume of our property, we would only require a shared container, not a sole container as we don't have enough volume for a sole container, so we stupidly agreed as he explained it was half the cost & we'd save money as we would be sharing the container with another person who was also having goods shipped to cyprus & it would only take maximum 4-6 weeks tops for our property to arrive to limassol. We thought ok no problem, but he then stole an extra â£336 out of my bank account as he claimed that when simpsons gave us a price it was based on 556cubic feet in volume & when they got our goods back to their warehouse and apparently measured the cubic feet again, we were over the agreed 556cuft that we had already paid for and agreed in writing, but no ersin was adamant that the extra â£336 had to be paid or else simpsons would not ship our goods at all, this we felt was blackmail & extortion, I didn't agree to them taking the extra money they just took it and fed us a [censor] story that we had to pay and regardless that we already paid them the final bill in the 1st place, they threatened not to ship our goods if we didn't pay the extra money. Now amongst our property was our deceased son's belongings aswell which they didn't care about as once they had stolen our money that was that. We left the uk in oct 2017, it's now dec 2017 & they still haven't shipped our stuff at all, if anything they kept making [censor] excuses that they were waiting for another consignment to load onto the shared container. We emailed them, & phoned them on numerous occasions explaining that it was a matter of urgency that our stuff is shipped immediately as it's been longer than the 6 weeks as promised & they have our late son's belongings & they couldn't care less about us or our late son as they saw fit to physically steal his property as they were refusing to ship it to cyprus for no reason whatsoever & they were keeping it against our will. On top of that we've now had to fork out an extra â£2700 to an actual shipping company to collect our property from simpsons warehouse & ship it to cyprus, something you'd think it was simpsons job to do, after all that is what they were paid to do & failed miserably. Also we received an email from simpsons explaining that they would be refunding money back into our bank account as they did not ship the stuff at all eventually. But they have failed to refund us the money they stole from us, as we are constantly emailing them on a regular basis quite rightly asking where our refund was, but they don't reply to any of our emails. Plus they are extremely racist. We are a greek-cypriot family & the person who was supposed to be our so called "point of contact" is turkish, now that shouldn't be regarded as an issue, but that's exactly what it turned out to be, as he deliberately stole money from our bank account, lied over & over again as to when our property would be shipped to cyprus, ignored our emails & calls. Which makes us believe that the only reason he's being a racist, lying thieving [censor] towards us is because we are greek, now if we were turkish, then I 100% guarantee we would have been treated with respect. Stay away from this company at all costs, simpsons are the worst shipping company ever, they steal your money & lie to you constantly. The simpsons cartoon characters who live in springfield are far more trustworthy than these lying, thieving, racist, heartless bunch of [censor]s. Unfortunately I had to put a one star rating as I wasn't allowed to give it no stars, but even a one star rating is one star too many for this poor excuse for a shipping company.

Simpsons Removals & Storage misinformation of delivery date and failure to respond to multiple emails after booking

Hi, I did not wish to make a formal complaint but unfortunately my recent emails to a member of Simpsons Removals staff have all gone unanswered, when I requested further information as to the status of our delayed shipment.

I was looking for a removal/shipment company to ship our boxes from the UK to the USA. Moving house is a hectic time and I am sure you can appreciate that moving country is even more complicated. Amongst the sale of our house and packing of our boxes, I obtained many quotes for the shipment of all of our boxes. It was quite turnaround we were looking for as we couldn't organise shipment until the day(s) before the sale of our house and completion dates are always given at such short notice.

However, I was very happy with the quotes a colleague Ersin Cayan sent. He was helpful and responsive. This is the first time I have done this process so it was all very new to me, but he explained to me how it worked, what he needed from me if I was to confirm the booking etc. I did go back and forth with a lot of companies to ensure I went with one that suited my needs. I wanted a company that provided me with a low cost quote as moving house was already costing us a lot of money. I was very happy with the quote Ersin sent over. He responded quickly and gave me another quote if I was to go over the estimated shipment size (and we did!) which I was also very happy with.

Another factor that I had to take into consideration was when the boxes would arrive. As mentioned above, this is something I have never done before, nor organised. I can appreciate it is a huge task with a lot of different parties involved. I asked for the duration of time it would take to ship our boxes. I confirmed with Ersin when they would be shipped (some companies do not ship until their container is full, and others ship once a week for convenience for the customer). This was another important factor for us, and I confirmed the date it would be shipped and the time it would take to arrive at our destination. I heard through other reviews that some companies will only give a transit time for it to reach the country, and I wanted to know the date it would reach our specific address.

I was confirmed by Ersin that it would reach our address 6 weeks after collection, which was on 4th September. I've since received an email from another company which I presume to be the courier saying we will receive our order on 15th - 17th November, which is nearly 5 weeks late. I would understand and could let it slide if it was a week late but this is over a month late. Through this, I have concerns about the order, and unfortunately unhappiness at the service I have since received from Simpsons. I don't feel I need to explain why it was so important that we receive our order on the time stated - surely if I asked the question and checked the information I was given with your colleague, then this conveys its importance to me. Understandably, we cannot pack the entire contents of our possessions into the two suitcases we were each allowed on the plane. Moving house is expensive, and we cannot afford to also duplicate our possessions once out here. Namely, we had suits that my husband needed for job interviews he had lined up for early November, which we since had to buy. I had contact lens solution and contact lenses which I have since run out of. I don't have an optician over here yet and was relying on my specific contact lenses provided for me by the optician in the UK, and I have had to leave my lenses in for longer than the recommended time, which could be hazardous for my eye health. We both have winter clothing which is in the shipment. Over here, summer lasts longer than in the UK so we knew we would be fine in summer clothing until October, which is great because it is smaller and easier to pack than thick winter clothing! But the weather has turned colder now, and I have one sweater here that I am having to wear every day now that it is colder. I have office clothing in shipment which I need now that I have a job (I did not expect to get one in the first few weeks here which is why I did not deem it necessary to pack). I had a planned trip to New York last weekend which was cold and had no winter clothing for this trip. Fortunately, my sister was visiting and able to lend me some to keep me warm.

I don't need to give you the entire contents of our shipment (I think you have this anyways in the itinerary we were asked to provide) but I am sure it is quite clear that there were many items we were relying on, and why we were relying on them to arrive at the time they were scheduled to.

I don't know how difficult this kind of shipment is to organise. I can only imagine the logistics involved. However, this was not my job. My concern is that our shipment will not arrive even on the dates we have now been given, between 15th and 17th November, and my issue and unhappiness lies with Simpsons in the fact that - 1) I was given important information prior to our booking which now appears was given falsely and that they had no way of guaranteeing, simply to make a sale. 2) I was not kept informed of changes to expected delivery date. 3) I was not given any sort of apology. If all I am to take from this is that sometimes, these things 'just happen', then why wasn't I informed of this? Why, when I emailed Ersin numerous times to convey my concerns, did my emails go unanswered? If it isn't the fault of Simpsons, and indeed this may be the case, why did they not get in touch with the courier or whoever is at fault, to find out the delay and get back to me to explain the reason behind it? I would just like some answers if nothing else can be done, as I am assuming it is too late now, though I would ask for some compensation given the unnecessary expense that we have had due to our shipment not arriving in time.

I feel that I was lied to at the start, with a delivery date that perhaps Simpsons had no way of guaranteeing. After all of my emails to Ersin went unanswered (perhaps he has left the company but no redirection has been set up? This is the only explanation I can think of), I in the end had to telephone Simpsons, and explain the situation to another member of staff to assured me they would chase this up with the couriers. Whether this has been done or not, I do not know. The telephone call also cost me a lot of money as it was an international call, but I am sure you can see how I was running out of options to hear back from any Simpsons communication.

I feel that if Simpsons gave me a date of delivery to the exact address of where I was saying, then it was their job to chase this up and ensure that it happened. If not, then they could come back to me to explain any possible delays. I do have all of my sent emails, all of my previous emails from Simpsons and Ersin in particular which I can indeed send over. I didn't want this to be a 'witch hunt' or to get any particular individual in trouble (though surely not responding to any subsequent email after I mentioned the delay to our order is quite poor customer service?), but I feel that as they were going unanswered, this was my only way of hearing back from someone at Simpsons as to my issues, and to get some answers.

I look forward to hearing from someone.

Simpsons Removals & Storage moving from london to hamburg

Simpson were hired to move our house from London to Hamburg back in November 2016.

Everything went smooth and fast to get a quote and pre payment as well as pick up of the furniture ( Our BOCONCEPT table was damaged during the move) but we didn't have a full insurance so we didnt get any money for this. But this is nothing compare to the fact that they stole our money!

We paid by mistake 2 times to them and Since DEC 2016 we are asking them to pay back the double amount and it is now AUGUST 2017 - 7 month later - and they still FORGET/CANT BE AKSED to do so.

They screen my calls, they keep emailing back when I contact them that it will be resolved but nothing happens.

They basically have stolen the money..it is a FRAUD company

DO NEVER HIRE THEM

Simpsons Removals & Storage removals

DO NOT USE! The worse company ive ever used to move to Australia. They lied from the very start, said they could have my goods shipped and cleared and with me by 8-10weeks latest...16 weeks later my goods arrived after me having to call, email, message from Australia to the UK. I BASICALLY DID THEIR JOB FOR THEM! The company- conroy removals was the carry on haulier who Simpson's used, they were very helpful within them selves and even admitted Simpsons lied. Eventually when my goods arrived- after having to go out and buy a new sofa and bed so we actually had somewhere to sit & sleep on as my goods were 6 weeks LATE- when i unpacked...well lets say they clearly didnt give a god dam about my items. Sofa SNAPPED- how the hell you snap the wooden parts in a corner sofa is beyond me! My sons bed parts were missing, units broken, ornaments smashed and to top if off...1 box missing! Now this missing box was an added box i sent after my 'initial' belongings were picked up from my house- but rest assured they added it to me order/container no problems. THINK AGAIN! They didnt add it, they lost it, didnt track it and then claimed i wasnt insured as i added it after...NOT ONCE DID THEY ADVISE ID BASICALLY SENT A BOX WITH NO INSURANCE OR TRACKING. Then we get to the insurance part...well well well...i opted for my insurance when the lovely lying sales guy first ever came round...he filled my head full of crap and said "the amounts you put on this insurance form is what you'll be paid out" THINK AGAIN! Insurance company basically halfed it...Simposons didnt want to know. Steve the owner wasnt interested either. I made an official complaint- well that was like arguing with 5 year olds! WORST COMPANY EVER! DO NOT USE THEM- EVEN THEIR STAFF ADMITTED THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND DONT LOOK AFTER YOUR GOODS!

Simpsons Removals & Storage Very late delivery

I paid Simpsons to ship goods as part of a consolidated container on the 29th of September 2012 to the US East Coast. At the time of booking, I was assured that while they could not give me definite delivery times, it was normally between 8 - 10 weeks with a maximum of 12 weeks. On that basis I booked with them.

I finally received my goods about 24 weeks after I gave it to them - on March 17 2013. Their customer service is very poor - when I asked when I would get my goods, their only response was that in their terms and conditions, they do not guarantee delivery and left me hanging. I asked what their solution was as it was getting close to four months. They then asked me to pay an additional £1, 200 if I wanted my goods delivered on time. Alternatively, they told me to come to their warehouse and take my goods and that they would then charge me for storage!

Obviously none of these were options I could work with and I had no choice but to wait for a long time. As a result I had to buy many things all over again.

Without doubt, the worst consumer experience of my life. Please do not believe this company about the shipping times they give you at the point of sale - these are not to be believed.

Simpsons Removals & Storage Bullying customer to huge extra charges

I'm a customer for relocations agent "www.universalrelocations.com". Without informing the customer they outsourced the job of removal to Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. There was pickup cancellation due to agent-customer misunderstanding and when finally the items were picked-up on 23-Dec-2008 to be transported to the port. Instead of the port they took to their storage and then send the notice on 08-jan-2009 to pay £670 more for pickup cancellation to £900 of actual service. They quoted 19 CBM volume of the fully export packed items, on suspicious about the volume customer asked for visit at their storage. During the visit on 15-Jan-2009 there were many items that was still waiting to be packed and confirmed that actual volume was around 15CBM. In response to this Simpsons staff said they were busy with other orders so they will schedule the packing after the weekend. After the weekend they started asking storage charge - the storage was never in the plan and it was for Simpson's procedure they took the items to storage. Since then customer requested to cancel the service and return the items. On 23-Jan-2009 customer hired a truck and 2 personnel went to Simpsons storage as agreed by Simpsons manager. But on the spot they refused to return the items citing some internal issues and later abused our team members. I requested for a courtesy delivery to customer's storage when their internal issues are sorted. Not only they refused to delivery or compensate their side of failure but demanded £420 more for delivery option or storage charges will be added from 26-Jan-2009. As there was no guarantees or reliability on Simpson's notice I requested for an on spot pre-offload payment at my storage. Simpsons has refused to do this service plus as on 30-Jan-2009 send the notification that they will sell my household items to recover the cost.

I engaged an international company to complete my international removal and was horrified on learning that my goods were held by these criminals. On acquiring my goods they promptly sent me a contract to sign listing all kinds of extra charges and conditions which were not in the original terms of the relocation I booked and paid for. They have continually tried to extort money from me, claiming that I have 'bad access' due to limited access for their two trailer road train, despite my original delivery having booked to the given address which is in a large city, and completely unsuitable for a road train. My location has perfectly good access, however suburban streets are completely unsuited to this ridiculous vehicle. They have then refused to deliver my goods at all after I suggested that they should learn to read after requesting over ten times that they deliver my goods as planned. Each consecutive email stated 'There are access issues at your property and you are unwilling to pay extra for a van, how should we proceed' I have informed them that the road to my property is 3.5m wide and will accommodate their vehicle (although I have no idea how they would get back out) and still the response has been the same. Absolutely disgusted with this company, and fearing I will never I see my belongings again - they are several boxes of important documents, photos and clothes only and cannot be replaced. Staff are consistently rude and unhelpful and I am forced to take legal action to have any hope of recovering my belongings.

Simpsons Removals are sharks, They do use their extortion schemas to get more money from a customer.
Their fraud schema is the following: they lie you about delivery terms just to make you pay by any means, and when it comes to the delivery they say that they cannot make a door to door delivery (though you have already paid for it) because the way to your door does not comply to their condition for 19m long and 4m high vehicle.
