This company insurance company refused to pay me in full for the lost of one of my boxes a moving company lost while doing my moving. A moving company I used lost one of my boxes with a value of $400 dollars.. this insurance company is only willing to pay me $9.00 dollars , which I don't think is a fair retribution for my lost.

Claim processin and reparation for damaged goods in a cross-country move not completed
Claim processin and reparation for damaged goods in a cross-country move not completed. On April 20, per the instructions of a movin company broker I contracted with (Move Smart - DOT: *** MC: ***, ***), I filed a claim and submitted all required paperwork to CAF/CPS (***) regardin the damaged goods delivered by *** Movers, the movin company that Move Smart contracted with to move my home furnishings from *** to ***. My claim number at CAF/CPS is ARLR280 *** CLAIM. I have emailed and called CAF/CPS and to date, my claim has not been processed and my damaged goods have not been replaced.
In response to your complaint, please be aware that CAF Moving Claims is not an insurance company, it is a claims department. We process claims for moving companies based on the level of liability that the customer agreed to on the contract whether it is FVP or the minimum carrier liability at 60 cents per pound. Moving companies hire our services in order for us to process the claims for them, however, once we are no longer operating with a moving company we no longer have access to their files or are able to process any claims for them the reason for this is because compensation is done by your moving company. We do not have the company Move Smart in our system and therefore you must get in contact with your company directly and your claim must be processed with them.
On September 30, 2022, my stuff got delivered by movers
On September 30, 2022, my stuff got delivered by movers. Most of it got messed up or wrecked. The moving company partners with this business to handle claims (clearly favoring themselves). It took them a solid 2 months to reply to my claim, and when they finally did, they only offered me half of what was kinda fair. Sneaky move, they went ahead and changed the numbers in my claim to save some cash and rip me off from what I was rightfully owed. I said no to their cheap offer, and 2 months later they hit me back with a big fat "no" to covering any part of the claim. That was 2 months ago, so now it's been a whole 6 months of this dragging on with zero progress. The company's setup seems fishy. Can't get in touch with anyone or find any officers to talk to.
In response to your complaint, please be aware that CAF Moving Claims is not an insurance company, it is a claims department. We process claims for moving companies based on the level of liability that the customer agreed to on the contract whether it is FVP or the minimum carrier liability at 60 cents per pound. Your claim was evaluated at the minimum carrier liability at 60 cents per pound which is the liability that a claim falls into when additional insurance has not been purchased nor any other type of liability for your claim, this liability applies to all items whether they are damaged, lost or destroyed, and it is the customer responsibility to purchased additional insurance in case of any accident during the relocation of the move. Is CAF Moving Claims Legit?
CAF Moving Claims earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%
Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.
Cafcps.org has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.
Cafcps.org has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.
Cafcps.org you are considering visiting, which is associated with CAF Moving Claims, is very old. Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While CAF Moving Claims has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 0% of 7 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Cafcps.org has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The cafcps.org may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
- CAF Moving Claims protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
Damage was done to our property from moving and the amount given for compensation was severely below reasonable
Damage was done to our property from moving and the amount given for compensation was severely below reasonable. Roughly about 10% of the total claim. The movers arrived on September 4 and 5, 2020, and damage to most furniture was noticed right away. I have pictures of the following damage: broken crystal flowers amounting to approximately $30, a broken coat rack with $20 worth of damage, a damaged, scraped, and gouged dining room table with an estimated value of $500.00 (as it has not been seen by a repairman due to lack of funds at this time), a damaged end table worth $150, a damaged cat litter cabinet worth $50, a broken china plate worth $30, a broken ceramic basket worth $65, a broken wine glass worth $15, a damaged hutch worth $100, and a damaged window sill worth $25. Additionally, a broken Tiffany lamp worth $150 and a missing kitchen gadget box with contents worth approximately $350.

So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty rough experience with these guys called CAF Moving Claims
So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty rough experience with these guys called CAF Moving Claims. They were supposed to take care of my stuff when 1776 Movers moved me on July 3rd. But let me tell ya, things didn't go so smoothly.
First of all, my furniture ended up staying in the truck for a whopping 40 hours because it decided to rain. And guess what? It started leaking water! Can you believe that? I mean, come on, 1776 Movers said they would handle it, but they didn't do squat.
So, I did what any frustrated customer would do. I sent CAF CPS all the pictures of the damage, told 'em I had 10 items messed up, and even gave 'em the correct weights. But let me tell ya, these guys take their sweet time. It takes 'em like 3 to 4 weeks just to send an email! And don't even get me started on trying to talk to a real person on the phone. It's like tryin' to find a needle in a haystack.
Now, here's where things really went downhill. 1776 Movers came up with some weights for 9 of the items, and CAF CPS is usin' those weights to decide how much they're gonna pay me. But let me tell ya, it's nowhere near enough to fix all my furniture. The actual weights for all 10 items is 983 pounds, and that should get me a settlement of $589.90. But nope, they're tryin' to shortchange me.
So, 1776 Movers tells me to contact CAF CPS and dispute the weights. But guess what? CAF CPS says they gotta contact 1776 Movers first. It's like goin' in circles, I tell ya. I even had a lawyer friend step in and talk to 1776 Movers, but they ain't budgin'. They're stickin' to their measly settlement offer.
Oh, and get this, there was even a video taken before the move to show the condition of my stuff. But does anyone care? Nope, not a single soul.
Overall, I gotta say, CAF Moving Claims ain't worth the hassle. They take forever to respond, don't wanna talk on the phone, and try to lowball ya with their settlement offers. Save yourself the headache and find someone else to handle your moving claims. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

I had the worst moving experience 2 months ago from TX to CA with Geo van Lines
I had the worst moving experience 2 months ago from TX to CA with Geo van Lines. They broke many of my things and even lost some! I only had standard "insurance" through CAF CPS. I sent them pictures of the broken things and descriptions of the missing things, but they denied my claim. I asked them multiple times by email to explain why, but they won't answer. You can't even reach someone by phone. When you call, it always says to write an email and wait for a response. I asked them to call me and explain, but they never do. I talked to the moving company and they couldn't believe the claim was denied either. It's not much, but I would only get 60 cents per pound for the damaged goods, which would add up to about $650. This company seems suspicious and doesn't handle their business correctly. Every service company should be reachable by phone or able to call a customer. I wish I had checked ComplaintsBoard.com before the move. They're not legit there and others have issues too. I didn't want to involve a lawyer, but with so much damage and no explanation for the denial, I have no choice.

I filed a claim with this company and they said it would take 45 days
I filed a claim with this company and they said it would take 45 days. It's been way past that time and they won't respond to my emails. I've tried calling, but it just goes to voicemail. My claim number is GVLR826 *** LINES CLAIM. I paid *** Lines and I've sent in all the necessary paperwork and photos for the damage to my furniture. I also included photos and a police report for the damage to my landlord's house caused by the driver. On Jan 19, I received an email saying that my claim is at the last stage and I should be contacted in a few days. But it's been a while and I still haven't heard anything. This goes beyond just the damage to my furniture and lost boxes. It's about my landlord's house too. I really need help getting my claim settled and my landlord reimbursed for the repairs. Thank you.
Thousands of dollars of damaged and offered $69 in total. They defended it upon review and hid behind their scam policies and company.
