Slack app was good today. At 2 PM PST, the Slack mobile app had a pop up asking for an Andoid OS upgrade to keep using it. The Android OS can't be upgraded on my *** Galaxy 6s Edge plus as the maker isn't giving upgrades for this model anymore. The slack app still works on the phone, but it's not usable. I get notifications, but I can't access the app interface to read messages or reply or turn off notifications because Slack says my android OS is old. It wasn't old for the last year while the same app worked on the same old Android OS. This makes people who need to use this app for work buy a new phone. This isn't okay. It's not a security problem. DUO mobile worked around this, so Slack can too. Why do I have to buy a new phone!

I been using Slack for my biz for a few years. In the summer, I signed a renewal agreement for another year of membership. Two months ago, I reached out to Slack to see if we could cancel the agreement cuz my biz hasn't been doing as well as before and the agreement didn't even start yet. I asked to change it to a month-to-month plan or cancel it altogether instead of paying over $10,000 upfront for a year. After waiting a month or two and trying to follow up, several Slack reps got back to me saying they could do it. This was great news cuz I was thinking of switching to a more affordable company. They confirmed with me several times over the phone and email that I could switch over. I started the process of switching to the other company. Later on, they abruptly told me I couldn't switch and had to honor the original agreement. They confirmed multiple times that I could switch to a month-to-month plan, so it messed me up cuz I already started the process of switching. They should honor what they told me. My biz is a mental health care treatment center serving patients with severe mental illness in impoverished communities.
