Sales person walked up to my door offereing oil at, 55 cents less than the retail value. He said we could get up to 3 deliveries at this price and that it is not a contract. I asked him again several times if this was a contract and he told me no. He said we just needed your name and address. He asked me to sign I said what is that for and he said its a ny state law because of the deal we were getting. He asked me if I needed oil and I told him no we just got a delivery. Well that was on march 21, 2011 and then today april 6 an oil truck came to my house filled my tank without my knowledge. The oil delivery said it was put in to have a delivery after april 4th. I never scheduled anything. I called immediatly & s. W a supervisor that said that I did sign a contract & there was an oil put in for after april 4th. He cancelled my contract that I am not supposed to have and gave me 90 days to pay the $700 bill that I didnt ask for. I am reporting them to the bbb because I feel I should not pay!

This is what Slomin's is doing. What was once a good honorable company is now a scam! Ever since the grandson took over and fired all the people who worked for his father and grandfather the place is terrible. The sales people who go around to peoples houses and lure them into service contracts that cover nothing by offering a low oil prices knowing that when the customer needs service they will charge them for everything but the smallest parts.
The only criteria for being an employee is if you can play for the company basketball team! You don't need any knowledge of the heating business.

Their sales people DO mislead. At my front door I was assured it would be will call service. At that time I told the guy I wanted 400 gallons. They came 1 week later and topped it off adding an extra 50 plus gallons. Their one year contracts are for auto delivery, and after 1 year it continues on unless you speak up. There is a 600 gal. minimum which I will satisfy by the next delivery. I was told that they cant make you buy oil after the minimum. Breaking the contract is very expensive. Their business is based on 275gal tanks and frequent deliveries, but I have 2-330gal tanks.
In their defense, the price I got is low, and when the burner died shortly after they came over for free and changed the entire filter, the relay, and nozzle. They do not cover the plumbing aspect of the boiler. I'm happy, but will consider future contracts for 24 hrs, before signing at the front door.

I have years contract and I just changes my oil tank and its five days since then I am asking them to come and put the oil and they are not here. According to them if you put a request for oil it takes up to six days for them to come and deliver. There is storm warning in New York and temperature is in 20s and I am without heat. I am their customer and they are not helping at all. Their customer service assured me every time I called that the oil tank is out and I am going to get the oil today before 4pm. They are giving all fake excuses for not delivering without their schedule. They are not reliable and I will report them to BBB.

I love slomins oil company my sales rep Mickel belle gave me the greatest deal and since I have saved money thank you Slomins and great credit too mr belle

My parents used slomins for years so when I bought my home I did as well. What a mistake. I received one delivery in May, and didn’t hear from them after. At the beginning of
November I noticed I had a quarter of a tank left. I called and requested a delivery. It was promised within 2 days. When it didn’t come I called again. I was told it would be coming in 3 days. No delivery again. I called for the third time and told them I had less then a quarter tank. I was promised delivery the next day. No delivery still. And almost out of oil called again. Now told no delivery until Monday. When I said I would have no heat or hot water they said nothing could be done and that if I ran out a tech could drop off a few gallons of oil to get me by. It’s ridiculous that you have to beg an oil company that you have a contract with to sell you oil. As soon as the year is up I will select a different company. They are very unreliable.
