Terrible company constantly lying about everything. Refusing to restore service after the bill has been paid. Constantly gives you the runaround. Bottom feeding scum bags. Every single time I pay my bill it's an issue and then my phone is cut off for hours even days how does this happen when you PAID the bill. Why is this even an issue of the bill is PAID! And the lies and excuses are endless but never a solution just problems. These ppl are greedy and do not care about anyone but themselves and getting over on other ppl.
customer service
I apply for this thru my carrier to get a new phone for my Dad on father's day but what a nightmare is been. I apply on June 12th and since it didn't indicated when it expired, I emailed customer service and 2 days later they get back to me saying that it has already expired but the beginning of the email states 6 days from application day. Obviously someone does not know the process and procedures of their own company. I decided to go with a different company at this point because this type of confusion can easily turn into a headache down the road.

I entered into a contract with smart pay 12/28/2018 on a new Samsung galaxy s9. Higher than it should have been but with insurance included I went ahead & after 5 months I lost the phone out of my boat into the lake! Called to make report was told to make police report & they would tell me what I owe. After 5 days I get told that $463 to get out of lease. Made another payment. 3 days later I Called to pay the $463 to end the contract at which point I was told that I had to pay $610 to end this. So instead of $463, I am out $610 + $94 for a monthly payment & a $15 police report for nothing! They are liars & will not stand by what they say. I will never do business with them again! I would not recommend to anyone! Crooked company!

I got an I phone 8 through smart pay. Worst decision I ever made! Three months in a row i was charged double my payment and when I called customer service they said they could not refund my money but would apply it to the next month's bill. The very next month my account was again debited for the same amount, again I called customer service and got the same line of lies from them. Paid my lease off 5 months early and two weeks after it was paid in full they again tried debiting my account for a phone that was paid in full! Customer service is horrible! Do not waste your time and money with this company!

Buyer Beware! Make sure you read the contract and ask retailer to explain the terms before signing on. I bought out of my lease early and lost only$220. If I had not I would have paid over $1400 for a $750 Iphone. I could not understand one of the reps for Smart Pay unfortunately when I asked about the payoff. The second person I dealt with explained what the clerk at Wal Mart left out. If you don't want or can't afford to drop a bunch of cash and would like to pay in installments make sure you understand you will be paying double!
it's not month to month
I have a lease with them now and it to be month to month but they are take two out how is that month to month and I have called and they just say it's the least ok and you say I will pay on the 3 ok they shut my phone of the day I am paying I call had to go though a bunch of crap to get back on it's a bad company I will never go back to them mad 😡 cell phones

Where do I start this company is the worst third party company I have ever experienced. This company allowed me to lose over $53 in payments while they received their money they did not ensure that my phone bills paid. As the lease is through them you pay them which I paid one $144.37 each month as it came out of my debit card. One month in there with was an error And they didn't receive the funds though they were in the car the next day and they were there. It is caused my phone to become cut off when I called simple Mobile my service provider and they advised I need to pay my $53 bill but my card had been debited $144.37 already so I didn't understand how smart pay receive their money but my phone services were still up when I called to advise smart pay told me they are not a phone company though they are only leasing department and there was nothing they could do I had to speak to the provider. Which doesn't make sense because they are the ones who receive the payment so they should be held responsible when I called my phone service provider they advised there was nothing they could do all it shows is that they didn't receive a payment. So I had to spend an additional $53 on top of the $144 I had already spent. I spoke with the department for over eight hours finally advising that I would receive a refund with smart pay those two weeks went by there in three weeks and then the fourth week I still had not received a payment. Not only were they rude customer service is horrible no one can help me everyone gave me the runaround and it's my money I have already invested over $700 for this phone. Which this company allows their phones to be overpriced in total I would be paying almost $1300 for this phone when added up though I was promised it was only 800. Even after interest this doesn't even include me paying for my phone bill each month on top of this. The phones are overpriced the customer service is horrible and there is never a manager to appropriately speak with no one cares about your money they just want your debit card information and I refuse to give them my debit card information for them to run my card and not pay for my services as in my contract when I advised legal action will be taken I was not taken seriously and almost prompted to get off the phone though again I was the customer and I was not getting adequate service for my money that was already spent. I had one person tell me I need to contact my bank for them to refund my money which we all know once you spend your money where your card is charged there's no way for you to get that money back. I do not recommend leasing from this company to anyone they are horrible if I have to give them any stars I would give them none. I would love to seek legal action over this dispute as I have invested again almost $1000 and I am still missing money that was charged to my account and no one has followed up and or reached out on behalf of me being a loyal in valuable customer where my money has always came out every month. Again this is the worst like leasing company I have ever Denteley they should be shut down.
iphone bundle deal
Agreed to "bundle deal" which was to include my iphone 6s plus and $25 airtime with Total Wireless (Tracfone) for $55.06/month. Received device and airtime card with zero issues. Month two I paid the $55.06 and several days later my service was disconnected. I assumed it was a mistake so I called and paid to restore service. However, after numerous calls to SmartPay I was told the lease payment and wireless service were separate despite what my transaction summary said.
Each month, I am given an email of my payment due and it says $55.06 lease payment $0.00 phone service but that is inaccurate. That's how it's supposed to be but if I pay the $55.06 the phone service will disconnect several days later.
I reached out to Tracfone Corporate (Total Wireless) and was issued a refund for the phone service but was told I didn't have a bundle deal and I would have to talk to SmartPay. Well SmartPay obviously knows they are scamming people and so they don't respond to emails and via phone they run you in circles and lie repeatedly and stick to the story that you owe them money and they have done nothing wrong.
They refuse to even tell me how to return the device and cancel the contract. I won't return it without agreement from them because others have and still have been billed.
This company is legitimately a scam. And even the wireless companies know it. Even the BBB (Better Business Bureau) has revoked its accreditation due to too many complaints of similar nature.
apple 8+plus cell phone cost

I was told my apple 8+plus phone would cost a total of $800 dollars, but when the store associate (metro pcs store) signed me up for smart pay to make payments on my phone, she never told me my monthly payment would be $135 dollars a month! I was expecting to pay off the phone by december 2018, but unfortunately this is not the case b/c smart pay is totally screwing me over b/c contract for $135/month is for 11 months! Making the phone cost a total of $1, 485 dollars, not $800 like I was initially told and agreed to paying! I absolutely cannot afford $1, 485 for a cell phone and what's worse is there is a "20% penalty charge" if you pay off the phone early! How on god's green earth is any of this the slightest bit legal! The store associate was the one that signed me up for smart pay and she was unaware of how it worked and like I said previous I was expecting to pay off the phone by december, b/c the monthly payment was $135/month! Not only did I not agree to that amount, I never signed anything agreeing to these terms and smartpay does not even have my name spelled correctly on my leasing contract! Please please please help me with this situation! I am on a very fixed income and I am disabled and support myself, so paying $1, 485 is totally out of the question and I will literally end up homeless if I need to keep paying this amount until the 11month contract ends! fraudulent lease in my name
This firm allowed someone to lease a phone in my name. Then, I received bills that essentially more than double the amount owed. This is an odd type of predatory lending that encourages identity thiefs to use their service, reneg on loans, and then charge incredible fees to the actual persons to correct a huge red flag on their credit scores.
They sent me to a collection agency that is incredibly aggressive and caustic. I am now in the midst of trying to get this cleared from my records without parting with the $2335 they are trying to get from me.
Total scam. Beware these letters. Call BBB and local law enforcement if you get any letters from SmartPay.

I leased an IPhone 8 through Smartpay with service through Straight Talk. I have had the phone since December and haven't had any problems until May. Smartpay charged me for a month of service for the first time but Straight Talk had already charged me as well. I called Smartpay and was told they don't give refunds.in July my service went out and I couldn't get it to reactivate even though I had already been charged for the month. I called Smartpay and was told the IMEI on my phone wasn't what they had on file. I gave them he IMEI from the phone and was told it would be escalated and would take 1-2 business days. It wasn't fixed. I have called many times and every time I am told the same thing. I was told I had put my SIM card into another phone and that was why I was having problems. My SIM card was never put into another phone. I started calling them on July 3rd and today is the 30th and the problem still hasn't been resolved. Once again I was told 1-2 business days. It seems that all they want is your money but when you have an issue they aren't worried about fixing the problem.

So my phone got cut off cause I forgot that it came off my card and my wallet had gotten stolen well went to pay with my new card and bang can't reach a damn person they have a 24/7 number but just says they are closed now! Says opens at 7am we'll its almost 9 am and they are still saying closed and I can't get my damn phone to work even though I got online sighted in and paid 😡😡😡😡 damn thing is a joke
customer service and fraud protection
This business allowed someone posing to be me open a line of credit in my name. While I had a fraud alert placed with all three major credit bureaus. Since I have found out I have been in constant contact with them fighting tooth and nail to get them to cancel the account and seek legal action against whoever was behind this. I've sent all the requested documentation and was told I would hear in 4-5 days. Today is day 5 so I call and the lady on the phone says it's going to be at least 4 more days. Everyone I've talked to here has been nothing but cold, rude, emotionless, robotic, and has zero compassion or understanding of what I'm going through. They've treated me like I'm the criminal. I would never recommend doing busing with them. They're awful and only care about the bottom line.

cell phone lease through smartpay
I bought a shared plan and two phones from Total Wireless. When we upgraded one of the phones and leased it thru SmartPay, Total Wireless transfered the service plan to SmartPay to start collecting payments. Since then, SmartPay has charged us up to four times per month, four payments of $66.09 instead of one (this is not for the actual device - that's separate). Why is SmartPay taking our service plan payments instead of Total Wireless? We call all the time (hours on the phone each time, talking to people who don't speak good English) and are promised that it has been escalated to the corporate office and our money (now totally $396) will be refunded. We're also told we'll get an email in 48 hours. No emails. It's been 3 months and not only is there no refund issued, they continue to take multiple payments every month. I can't even stop it because it's an automatic payment.

I PURCHASED a phone from metro but payed thru smart pay... I had smart pay deduct the payments so I would be on time... after my payments were done and my phone was payed off (so I thought) I kept getting charged! So I had my bank block anymore payments... I spoke with smart pay and they're telling me that I have to pay a rental fee! This was 3 years ago... why do I have to pay a rental fee if I bought the phone?!?! Today I received a phone call stating tomorrow I will be served papers to go to court for "theft by conception"! Although the man I spoke to that represents smartpay told me once I accept the papers he can no longer help me... if I wanted to settle the acct today ($700) I can do that! Why?!?! I paid for the phone! I was never told of any leasing fees after I payed off the phone! I was misled I never would've dealt with smartpay if I would've known they are thieves! I'm ready to go to court... does anyone know of any class action lawsuit against smart pay? I'm tired of being harassed and threatened for something I bought and payed for... thank you

My son's phone was financed through SmartPay on HIS bank account, but they took money out of mine without my prior knowledge or consent. I am disputing the charge through my bank as I did NOT authorize this transaction, nor did I give this company my bank/debit card information to do so. I cancelled my card and now I have to wait for a new one to come in the mail.

I received a text from your smart pay saying they had processed $260 at Metro PCS from my debit card. I have no idea who is MetroPCS or your company. I called your customer service and inquired and they said my name was not on it (after some research) but some other name and could not give out the name or the credit card info they were using. Hence, now I have to cancel my debit and watch my credit cards. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said wouldn't do any good they would tell me the same. I said I wanted to talk to them anyway. He left me on hold and after 40 mins waiting I hung up. I am a retired police officer and I know he can give me the last four of my card being used. Apparently, an application has to be filled out and if they are using my info I need to be aware for Identity theft. I have attached a copy of the text I received. I need to know some answers and I don't appreciate your agent putting me on hold and never coming back.

I purchased a phone through MetroPCS and was offered the payment option using SmartPay, I was told that I could call prior to 60 days from purchase and pay off the phone to avoid the higher lease payment total that would be incurred should I pay for the full 9 months. I called 2 days prior to the 60 day time frame and after paying over $100 already I was told that the pay off for the phone was $178.33. (The original price of the phone by the way was $179.00), but after all the number switching fees, etc, the finance amount was $206.00 I was aware of their 20% early pay off fee however was not aware it was based on the original purchase price but even then their figure was higher than I calculated. Their "customer service"call center was unhelpful, failing to provide any information as to how their figure was reached, nor could they even tell me how much the phone would cost me should I pay it off in 3 days instead of 2. I was directed to contact the company via email, which (shocker) would take 3-4 business days to get a response, placing me beyond the 60 day window and then having this $179.00 phone cost me over $450.00. I urge everyone to not use this company, their loan shark tactics and refusal to discuss how they reach their amounts owed are sketchy at best. Not to mention how convenient that they are unable to discuss anything pertaining to finance except via email. SMH I should have paid for the phone in cash. Now I read that I may even have trouble stopping the monthly withdrawals even after I pay off the phone. Why is this company still allowed to conduct business?

I have called to SmartPay through my mobile provider. They offered me to get new phone and pay for it over time. We agreed that I would pay the whole sum within one year. It was already paid off and when I checked my account next month, I found out that SmartPay continued to charge me for $67.99. When I called to this company again, they said that I understood their terms wrongly and I must pay one more year. Don’t be trapped into their fake plan.

My name is Sheena Hotaling I called last month to have my card changed and to have my bill changed from auto deduction to me calling in the payment. Today was my due date so I called and made a payment, I then checked my account and seen they charged me twice! I called them to ask for a refund and there was nothing they could do! When I called today on 8/21/2015 I spoke with a Johnathan Quintanilla who at no point advised me that a payment was already made. When I called to make the complaint I spoke with a supervisor named Joe. This is a copy and paste from my payment history. My lease aggrement number is OF6LASDWG! please help me thank you
