Even after 7 days had passed, I still had not received my refund. Frustrated and disappointed, I decided to file a claim with my credit card issuer. Thankfully, they were able to issue a refund within 3 days.
To my surprise, Scott Nangle then emailed me to say that he had posted the item and that it had been too big for the letterbox. He instructed me to check with my local post office depot. However, I found no evidence of a tracking number or date of dispatch. It became clear to me that this individual had not sent anything to me at all.

Snvinyl is an online store that sells hifi equipment, record supplies, cleaning equipment, audiophile gear, and even mofi records. However, my experience with their services was unacceptable. I had to reconsider using snvinyl for sleeves and covers.
The website technology is extremely out of date, from the sign-up to payment. It's antiquated, to say the least. The time to receive emails to say you have signed up leaves you wondering if it has worked at all. When you sign in, your browser warns you it's an insecure site, but once you sign in and pay, it is secure. But by this time, you have already sent your unencrypted password in plain text across the internet!
Ordering is baffling, and you have to wait for your order to be processed. Then you receive an invoice link in your email, which takes you to a page that doesn't match the branding of the snvinyl website. Payment went through without issue each time. But this way of paying makes you feel like it's a fake website. I have no idea why it doesn't integrate with modern payment gateways such as PayPal, Amazon pay, or Stripe, etc.
I ordered a mixture of inner and outer sleeves. The site allows you to select the number of sleeves you would like, which is why I chose snvinyl in the first place as I didn't need many 10" sleeves. Once ordered, it was processed very quickly on a bank holiday, which surprised me, and I thanked them. Then the wait! If I had known at this point snvinyl's criteria for shipping singular or fewer than 50 sleeves, I wouldn't have bothered, but they fail to state it on their website.
When I chased my first order, the first time, I was told it would take some time, but not given a time frame. It was only at this point that snvinyl divulged that they don't break up packs of sleeves. I ordered in April and chased every other month. When I chased one last time in August, I was told it shipped. On asking for the tracking number, I was offered a refund. Even though I paid for tracking, there weren't any updates sent from their system to tell you what it is, which leads me to suspect they don't pay for tracking on what they ship.
I was told specifically by snvinyl via email I need to order covers and sleeves in packs of 50, 100, or 1000. So I decided to use them again as they had what I required. I ordered 50 of everything. Again going through a weird payment process. A week passed, I asked what was going on. I was told that I would still have to wait, as I need to purchase 100 to get them in a normal time frame. So I was lied to, or they don't ensure their comms are consistent. I have since got another refund. Absolute jokers. I feel you can't trust them, they don't care about your business with them.
In conclusion, snvinyl sells some fantastic hifi equipment, record supplies, as well as cleaning equipment, audiophile gear, etc. However, their website needs updating. They should update everything to https, ensure their site is properly responsive for mobile, and use a modern payment gateway. They should not lie or forget what their own business logic is. They should state shipping restrictions and delays on items if they have them. They should not allow people to order things they can't fulfill in a timely manner. They should not lead customers on and waste people's time.

After 12 days, I contacted the owner of the company, Alexander Scott Nangle, for an update. He informed me that the out of stock item would not be in for another two weeks. However, he proposed two alternatives that were in stock, which I agreed to. One of the items was almost ?120, and the other was half the price of the item I was waiting for. I asked him to send me two of the cheaper items as a replacement, even though I didn't need them, but I had already read some negative reviews about him online.
He assured me that he would ship the items over the weekend, but I didn't receive a tracking number. I contacted him again on Monday, and he replied that he would send the tracking number in the next email. However, I still didn't receive it by Wednesday, so I asked for a full refund. He replied that my order had been shipped over the weekend, and he would send a refund and get his carrier to return the goods. I asked him why I didn't receive a tracking number, and when I could expect to get my money refunded. He replied that he had sent an email advising me that my order had been shipped, and he would reship the order that day.
It was frustrating to deal with him because he replied to my emails, but not to the questions I asked. It was like going around in circles. After five weeks of waiting, I received nothing but lies, nonsensical excuses, and [censored]. I didn't receive any products or a refund. He also had a company called Scott Nangle Energy, which went bankrupt in the summer of 2015, possibly run by the same person as Snvinyl. It's worrying that there's no information available on the internet about Snvinyl, and it only seems to exist in the form of negative reviews that started about two years ago. It has developed a truly appalling reputation on internet review sites.
In my opinion, Alexander Scott Nangle is a liar, a thief, and a self-serving, self-centered imbecile who is incapable of running a company. He has lied to me repeatedly, and he has my money but refuses to return it or send me the items I paid for. He also refuses to give any logical explanation for what has happened. I believe he has stolen my money, and I can prove it.
If you're in the same situation as me, there are some things you can do to get your money back. If you paid by PayPal, file a dispute. If you paid by bank card, do a chargeback, which operates in many countries. If you paid by transfer or cheque, contact your bank, and you may be able to get your money back. These business practices are nothing less than fraud, and he needs to be punished. You can file a claim on the Action Fraud website, which can be used by non-UK residents as well.
