My nightmare
I strongly advise prospective patients to explore alternative healthcare facilities in Mexico for their gastric procedures. While successful outcomes are achievable with any well-executed surgery and adherence to post-operative programs, the true measure of a medical institution lies in its ability to handle unforeseen challenges. Unfortunately, my experience with Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC) revealed a disturbing level of incompetence and disregard for patient safety.
My gastric sleeve procedure was abruptly canceled by MBC due to a preexisting medical condition that they were fully aware of before granting approval. They had even requested and received a comprehensive report from my cardiologist. Oct 10th the day of surgery I'm in Mexico, in my hospital room, just one hour away from surgery when a hospital doctor separate from MBC, entered my room asking questions about my prior medical history, leaving and returning several minutes later with a different doctor I received the news that proceeding with the surgery that day would endanger my life and they would not allow MBC to perform the schedule procedure in their facility. The hospital staff emphasized that their facility was ill-equipped to handle complications arising from individuals with health issues like congestive heart failure (CHF), and I should have never been approved by MBC.
Leaving Mexico disappointed and perplexed, I later discovered that MBC's approval seemed driven by financial motivations. A day after MBC canceled my procedures they pressured me to sign a cancellation form, forfeiting any refund. I refused and asked to be reimbursed my surgery total and travel expenses. A week goes by with no returned emails or calls. Once they did reach out MBC offered a partial refund, citing incurred expenses for the cancellation. Alternatively, I could reschedule with the original approving doctor at the new hospital, despite the original hospital's firm recommendation against it.
In the ensuing negotiations, I emphasized that I was out $9,088.79 for a situation entirely
caused by MBC's negligence, as my health status hadn't changed between approval
and the scheduled surgery on October 10th. After another 3wweeks of
unresponsiveness, I had to contact Ron Shahram Eli, the owner, directly to
elicit a response.
MBC's final offer was an expedited refund of $4,689 (surgery cost) contingent on signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prohibiting negative reviews, BBB complaints, or any public discussion of their business practices. Curious about the need for an NDA, I countered with a $7,500 settlement, agreeing to the NDA. MBC accepted, but 5 days after receiving my accepted and signed NDA they rescinded the offer, now only willing to refund $5,489.
It has been five weeks
since the scheduled surgery, and all I've received from MBC are insufficient
offers, broken promises, and bills for a procedure that never took place. In
conclusion, I caution against entrusting your well-being to Mexico Bariatric Center.
In the unfortunate event of complications, their commitment to patient
well-being and financial restitution appears sorely lacking.
Recommendation: anywhere but here
don't go to sourcis, inc
don't go to sourcis, inc. for gastric surgery! it was a nightmare! they're like the people you see on tv that talk about how bad medical tourism is. they lie and deceive you! go somewhere else if you don't want to go through what i did. it was absolute horror!
DON'T GO HERE!
DON'T GO HERE! I had a medical emergency on the day of my surgery. The center canceled my surgery and I went back to the US for treatment. Per MBC policy, a patient is ONLY charged for services rendered. I got charged for one night of hotel stay and transportation. When I asked for a refund, the account manager said a refund of $3500 USD was approved. But I was charged close to $500 for the hotel and over $400 for transportation. I have proof that those fees are not accurate. A few weeks before my surgery date, I had to postpone for personal reasons. Accounting charged a $300 rescheduling fee plus $200 for hotel and transportation. I asked both the account manager and the company supervisor how a $200 fee increased to almost $1000. Also, lab fees were only $100. I think that's where the other portion of the $2000 refund MBC is refusing to return. I sent numerous emails to the account manager, the company supervisor, and the customer service. But they refused to return any of my emails after I repeatedly asked to discuss terms of my refund. I have now proceeded to file with small claims court for breach of contract. FYI, those of you who read the cancellation policy will notice a refund of 35% will only be given even if you are deemed medically inappropriate for surgery. They updated that policy on 8/29/2022. Which was 3 weeks AFTER I filed my complaint. Another patient has the same complaint on their website.

I had an appointment for bariatric surgery but the doc I was supposed to see wasn't there so I had to see someone else. They said I'd get 200 bucks back but I still haven't gotten it after 4 months. They keep saying it's coming but it never does.
I had surgery planned for 6
I had surgery planned for 6. When I got to the place, they did a CT scan and said I had COVID. But I got a copy of my negative COVID test and a surgical clearance from my doctor saying I was good to go. So I scheduled surgery again for December 3. But when I got there, they said I had COVID again or something wrong with my lungs. This happened twice! But I got all my medical records for December showing I'm healthy and my CT scan was normal again. You can see all my records from my doctors here in the *** showing I was healthy both times. All I want is my money back.
I had a surgery done by Sourcis, Inc
I had a surgery done by Sourcis, Inc. at Mexico Bariatric Center. It was a duedendal switch and it didn't go well. My veins got damaged and I almost bled to death. When I got back home, I was filled with infection and my organs were swollen. There was a gaping hole in my new stomach and the GI team said it was the worst surgery ever. They had to remove a lot of scar tissue and mesh to fix it. The sutures were like fishing line. I had to stay in the hospital four more times in the US to fix everything. I want a refund and extra money to pay for the hospital visits because of their negligence.

I gave Sourcis, Inc
I gave Sourcis, Inc. $5000 (paid in full on May 23, 2022) for gastric sleeve surgery, but the day before surgery (June 7, 2022), I had a seizure (a thing Sourcis, Inc. knew about), so we couldn't proceed. Now they're saying I'll only get $3075.78 back. Sourcis, Inc.'s Accountant said they charged me a flat 35% of surgical services, plus $170.97 extra hospital charges. But that's not what the Consent Form I signed on May 17, 2022 says (See "Refund Policy," point #1- poor punctuation is copied verbatim). It says I should get a refund minus any costs incurred by Sourcis, Inc. To be clear, I want an itemized receipt of what I owe Sourcis, Inc. since I didn't get the surgery I went to Mexico for. It's ridiculous that I'm still being charged over one-third of the overall price! Also, I found my own accommodations for the third night and transportation to the ***; those costs should be deducted. If Sourcis, Inc. is so honorable, they should honor the Refund Policy they set forth. I want the *originalConsent Form that I agreed to honored!
