We requested a lease payoff amount from Southeast Toyota Finance on July 28th and received the payoff amount by mail on August 7th. We sent in a check that day in the amount requested on the payoff paperwork along with the forms required. We did not receive any correspondence back nor did we receive the title. They deposited the check on August 14th. I called them to find out what was going on and was told that because I signed for the lessee as POA and as the purchaser that they needed to send it to their legal team. I waited a week and still no correspondence. I called again and was told that they were supposed to follow up based on the notes in the file but no one did and they would get back to me. Again, no one called. I called again on Thursday August 31st to find out the status and spoke with a helpful representative named Leanne who said that the check was not credited properly and that after I gave her the check number and deposit info, she was able to locate it and have it applied correctly. However, she said that the check was $500 less than it was supposed to be. I told her that I sent the exact amount on the payoff form I received and she asked that I fax that form to her (not sure why they would not have a copy of what they sent to me). She said it would take 24 -48 hours to process. I sent the fax on the 31st around 2:00 pm. I called again on September 5th at 10:00 am and was told that they had not received the fax even though I have a confirmation that the fax went though. This representative named Hillary gave me a different number to sent the fax to and said she would get it to Leanne but that I would need to wait another 24-48 hours. It has now 22 days since Southeast Toyota Finance deposited my check and still not title. I do not know what to do. This is such poor follow up. I am hoping that someone can rectify the problem.

Desired outcome: I just want the title to the car that has been paid for and the check deposited!

This has not been resolved at all! I can't believe SETF can say it is resolved without actually doing anything! I am literally on the phone with a representative there now and they are still holding the title and nothing has changed. I am asking for a supervisor but who knows what that will yield. This is crazy that they deposited my check on the 14th of August and have thousands of dollars of my money but have not yet released the title. No one calls, no communication from them unless I call them and wait on hold, tell the person my story over and over and still get nowhere! There needs to be some way to get this resolved. I have done absolutely everything they requested.
