I worked with Sparrow Electric in July 2021 to have a new solar system put on my home. We originally agreed for installation to be completed in September 2021, but after considerable delays we didnt get installation started until January 2022.

We went through all of the normal channels such as getting net metering in place, getting HOA approval, and so on. After the installation, we had a technician come out and look at the system. He mentioned that the installation was wrong and he had to order a new part that would take some time to be shipped in.

Three months later, that technician no longer worked for Sparrow and didnt leave any notes so my case slipped through the cracks and nobody knew what was going on. I had another technician come to my home and he advised me that my electrical wiring was not done correctly and he would have to move my breakers around between the boxes to properly power everything and achieve appropriate critical load power in the event of a blackout.

At some point shortly after this, Sparrow went out of business and never again returned any of my calls or emails. They reported falsely to the financing company that our system was turned on.

Now, nearly 2 years later, I still do not have a solar system that has ever worked or been turned on. I have had several electricians come to look at the system, but they do not have the expertise to work on a solar system. They have advised me to contact another solar company. I have talked to several solar companies, and none of them are willing to even look at my system because I didnt buy it from them. One of them mentioned that they are not legally allowed to look at our system (I don't know how valid that is, but that is what they told me). Even the finance company that we used is well aware that our system has never been turned on and they have told us they are not going to do anything to help.

Now, I am sitting here paying for a solar system that does not and has not ever worked and I have no known way to get it worked on. I am sure that some people have had positive experiences with Solar, but working with Sparrow has been nothing but a nightmare.

Desired outcome: I would simply like someone to come out and get my system working. I also think a 10% refund on the total price of the system would be appropriate since I have now lost about that much of the expected productive life of the system.
