I've been with SPIRE Credit Union for over ten years
I've been with SPIRE Credit Union for over ten years. I really like the folks at the branches, and the rates are unbeatable.

I just put a check in my spire account and it went through the account it was taken from, but they're keeping the money until the end of the month. Even though they know the check went through, they're still keeping the money for more than a week. How is this allowed?
I have a loan on a car with SPIRE Credit Union
I have a loan on a car with SPIRE Credit Union. It's a summer convertible, so it's parked and up on blocks with the tires off. I decided to remove the full coverage since it wouldn't be driven and there wouldn't be any harm. However, SPIRE notified me that I had to carry full coverage or they would put their insurance on it for $2400 a year, added to the loan annually. This feels like a scam that you can never escape from. I almost told them to come and take the car. Dealing with them is never straightforward; there are always hoops to jump through to get anything done. I'm currently paying off the car and planning to refinance with someone else very soon.
I was just lookin at my account balance online and noticed an improperly recorded deposit
I was just lookin at my account balance online and noticed an improperly recorded deposit. The deposit listed shows two checks, one for $1,200.00 and another for $200.00. The deposit that was made was for two checks each for $1,200.00. They did in fact issue the deposit receipt given to me for the correct amount of $2,400.00. When i tried to call and fix this problem, i called the only phone number i could find for this organization. After ringin several minutes, i got disconnected. This happened on multiple occasions. I finally reached out with an online chat room and was able to get the representative to call me to talk. After they checked into the matter, they found they had processed the deposit incorrectly and acknowledged the second check was for $1,200.00 but they only submitted it to the other institution for $200.00. The result is they are tryin to get it corrected so the additional $1,000.00 can be credited to my account but they are tellin me i may in fact need to get a new check written for the additional $1,000.00. This is only one of multiple errors they have made on my account in recent years and i am waitin to see if they get it corrected.
Very sneaky company
Very sneaky company. We caught the person in charge of our loan lying to us red handed to get more money. They didn't realize that 2 people from the same family applied for house loans and somehow 1 person got a different inspection price than the other. When confronted, the loan agent panicked and said they would just cover the inspection costs as they couldn't explain why it was different. Big red flag there. Then after that they found every possibility they could to have an issue with our loan, in the end they told us they weren't able to get us our FHA loan. Which is funny because I got a USDA loan instantly and they are more strict that FHA. The agent ADMITTED multiple times to failing to do her due diligence on the loan. After this nightmare was over we asked to receive some kind of paperwork to file a grievance against the loan officer as they did admit to failing to do their job on multiple levels and trying to scam us out of money. They never sent any paperwork and we requested to speak with a manager or supervisor about this agent multiple times and no one will return the calls to take any kind of state. This proves to me that management is in on the scams and teaches their workers on how to stonewall people they don't like.
Spire Credit Union is a terrible bank
Spire Credit Union is a terrible bank. They always kept blocking my debit card because I didn't want to answer their annoying calls from outside my area. Can you believe it? Businesses use the internet to buy stuff sometimes. I shouldn't have my card shut off just because I spent $50 on things for my business. And to make matters worse, they constantly locked me out of their online platform. These two problems made my business finances a mess so many times. How can you run a successful business if your bank keeps making you broke for no reason? I thought banks were supposed to help you with money, not stop you from getting it. Despite their so-called fraud prevention, my business debit account got hacked multiple times over the years. It was a huge hassle to get them to fix the charges in one case. Who's gonna pay me back for all the time I wasted? And when I gave them some honest feedback, they were rude and mean. They acted like parasites, causing more harm than good to my finances. They even closed my account, which hurt my credit, for no good reason. I didn't use any bad words or anything. I just used fancy words to describe how they treated me. They have proven that they can't be trusted with my small business banking needs. They deliberately tried to mess up my finances. They acted just like parasites. I knew I was right about them all along.

Spire Credit Union is always lockin' my card when I'm tryin' to make a transaction, and they never bother to give me a call to let me know
Spire Credit Union is always lockin' my card when I'm tryin' to make a transaction, and they never bother to give me a call to let me know. I've called their Member services three times to update my contact info, but it seems like nothin' ever happens. I mean, I get that they wanna keep things secure, but it's just so embarrassin' to keep gettin' denied when I'm tryin' to use my card.
I bought a car from Poquet dealership on Oct 3rd, 2016 and they used Spire as their credit company
I bought a car from Poquet dealership on Oct 3rd, 2016 and they used Spire as their credit company. The issue was that Spire never sent me the Title for the car. I thought they would send it once the loan was paid off. I got a copy of the lien release in the mail, but not the title. I reached out to Spire Credit Union regarding the title, and they told me to contact the DVS for it. The DVS mentioned that they sent the title to Spire Credit Union at 2025 Larpenteur Ave, Falcon HTs. MN. Since it has been more than 90 days, I have to pay $20.25 for a duplicate title. The duplicate title still has Spire listed as the lien holder, so I would need to spend another $11 to remove it. Spire should be responsible for paying the $20.25 + $11 for the title and transfer.
I had the worst experiences ever at Spire Credit Union
I had the worst experiences ever at Spire Credit Union. I went to open a checking account, but they denied me because of a charge from a previous bank. They said I could come back once it was resolved. I took care of it right away. After many days of trying to contact them, they finally told me they couldn't open my checking account because of a loan charge off balance that I was never legally informed about. This was all new information to me. I agreed to make payments to clear it up, but when the loan officer, Jim, found out about my former name and sexual identity, things got even worse. He treated me with disgust and continued to belittle me on the phone while I tried to find a solution. He even threatened to lock my visa credit card, which I've been paying on. I've been calling every day to talk to someone else, but as soon as they realize it's me, they put me on hold and then hang up on me.

I went to the bank a few months ago and withdrew cash from my card
I went to the bank a few months ago and withdrew cash from my card. The lady who helped me went to a machine and brought back some paperwork for me to sign. After signing the receipt, she said she needed to process it differently and asked me to swipe my card again. Once she swiped it again, she had me sign another receipt and gave me my money.
A few months later, my other bank paid them $500 again. When I called SPIRE to find out what was happening, they told me they had two receipts from the same day, within half an hour of each other, showing that I came back to withdraw the same amount of money. I explained to them that I never went back and that the manager said there was video footage available, but she didn't need to look at it.
They have been investigating for over a week, but there hasn't been any progress. The management told me today that they have turned it over to a fraudulent department. I was only at the bank once that day, and the video surveillance will show that it didn't happen. I really need them to check the video surveillance.
My grandma used Spire bank before she passed away
My grandma used Spire bank before she passed away. I was on her account to help her out in the future. She had bought an insurance plan on her car and was told that when she passed, her car would be paid off and given to her family. She was so excited about this plan. She bought it when she was 73 years old. When she died at 77, I went in with all the info I needed to get the car. It was a long process and I had to deal with 3 different employees who were all helpful and kept saying what a great plan my grandma had. 3 people said the car would be paid off. But then someone looked closer and saw that my grandma was over 75 when she died. Apparently, the plan she bought isn't valid for anyone over 75. Someone took advantage of the elderly, obviously. Why would my grandma buy a plan at 73 if it would be invalid in 2 years? I'm so mad to find this out and to top it off, I was told 3 times by 3 different people that the car would be paid off, but it wasn't. I had to give the bank the car because no one could afford it. They said they would contact me when they auction off the car and then I can close the account. I've called many times with no results. It's been OVER A YEAR and I still haven't heard anything. I'm so mad at Spire bank and I will never recommend this place to anyone.
