I signed up with Stadium Park Apartments in September and was supposed to stay until August . But in December , they started advertising lease renewals for the next year with a $400 incentive. I took the offer and checked the lease for any hidden fees, but found none. Fast forward to July , I decided to leave and informed the leasing office. However, they charged me $900 for cancellation, which was not mentioned before. They deducted it from my August rent. I feel like they only care about attracting new tenants, not keeping the existing ones.

I tried to sublet my pad and found someone to move in on August 5th. A worker told me on August 1st that the person signed the lease and was ready to move in. But when I asked about my prorated rent of around $1,000 on August 12th, another worker said the person hadn't moved in yet and they couldn't reach her. So, I had to pay until she did. Even though her lease said August 5th, she had to pay from then on, no matter when she moved in. On August 16th, I found out the subleaser had a new lease that said she would move in on August 12th. How did that happen if they couldn't contact her? I want to know why she was allowed to change her lease and why I have to pay over $400 extra when her original lease said she would move in on August 5th. I want a refund of about $1,041 from August 5th to August 23rd. They made me turn in my keys in the last week of July, but she didn't move in until August 12th. If she signed a lease for August 5th, I want my money back. If not, I want to know why I was lied to and why I wasn't told about the situation.

I had a lease for Stadium Park Apartments for my daughter, ***. When the Pandemic hit in March, they threatened us that we would be held responsible for breaking the lease and ruin our credit. They offered to move the lease to August, but they changed the terms to one year without telling us. We signed because they pressured us very hard. This was a "bait and switch" tactic on a child. We paid in full per the original contract, but they used Covid to add more months and are now threatening us again. We will not pay for an extended contract snuck in using the pandemic and a changed date as cover. I am working on an attorney as well. This business used Covid 19 to tack on 6 months to a lease. They forced us to pay under a myriad of threats. We did pay the agreed 6 months, even though we never took up residency. They then used Covid to add more months and are now threatening us again.
