Had a terrible time dealing with Strong Auto
Had a terrible time dealing with Strong Auto. They sell crappy cars and try to push an extended warranty on you, but when you take your car in for repairs, they don't lift a finger. I'm really worried that they messed with my car's carfax because the Cadillac dealership said there was body work done on it. I would never ever suggest anyone buy anything from Strong Auto. It was just a horrible experience.

I paid 1200 dollars when I bought a car
I paid 1200 dollars when I bought a car. My auto loan didn't go through, so ten days later, I returned the car. Unfortunately, I never received a refund of my 1200 dollars.
I bought a 2015 GMC Acadia from Strong Auto
I bought a 2015 GMC Acadia from Strong Auto. The wheels on the passenger side were messed up in the front and back. They said they would change them. The car was running fine until they put on the new wheels. Now, when I drive, the car shakes like crazy. I left the car sitting for a few days until I could tell them about it. They checked out the car and gave me back the keys, saying they made it a little better, but it still didn't fix the issue. When I asked what they were gonna do, they said nothing. I never had a problem until they switched the wheels, and I have a service contract that covers this.
I found a car at Strongs Auto and it seemed like a good deal
I found a car at Strongs Auto and it seemed like a good deal. After I purchased it, I took it to a reputable mechanic and they found many problems with the car, including transmission issue, major rust problems, and a list of problems. They called me in a panic and basically said, "Please tell me you didn't buy this car". I asked *** if I could have my trade-in back, and he suggested I buy an extended warranty... that way if the transmission failed, it would be covered. The warranty he recommended has many bad reviews and explicitly says it does not cover rust damage. (Two mechanics told me the rust was bad enough that they could probably push through the oil pan with their hands).

I traded my truck in at Strong Auto and they gave me $30,000 for it
I traded my truck in at Strong Auto and they gave me $30,000 for it. The remaining balance on my truck was $23,906.89, so I expected to receive $6,093.11 back. However, I never received the money. The salesman, "Big Al," handled everything, and when I contacted him about the issue, he claimed that the money was applied to my loan, even though that was not part of our agreement. I have called multiple times and left voicemails for the owner, Mark, but I haven't heard anything back. I've also had several problems with the truck since the day I bought it, but right now, all I want is the money they owe me.
I bought a 2017 Infiniti QX60 on 12/29
I bought a 2017 Infiniti QX60 on 12/29. We got it checked by our local mechanic and it had serious flood damage. The car fax didn't mention it. I bought a 2017 Infiniti QX60 on 12/29. I asked if we could get it checked by our mechanic in Louisville first. They said their cars go through 2 checks and never have problems. I had it written in my contract that I would get it checked the next day and could return it if my mechanic found any issues. I took it on 12/30 to be checked and my mechanic found it had bad flood damage. There was rust under the seats and under the car. My husband called Strong Auto to say we were returning the car and what the issues were. They said they couldn't believe it, that never happens. We had pictures to prove it. They said they were so sorry and would send it back to the auction they bought it from. Well today 12/31, it's back up for sale on their website. They're gonna scam someone, so be careful buyers. Make sure to have your cars checked by a mechanic you trust. There are shady people in this world.
I bought a 2010 GMC Acadia from Strong Auto on 9/4
I bought a 2010 GMC Acadia from Strong Auto on 9/4. They told me that the park assist sensors were busted because of a dent on the back bumper. No engine signs showed that the sensors were broken. We test drove the vehicle, and they said the AC line was busted and the vehicle needed struts. They offered to fix the AC for $500, but we said no because we didn't think we should have to pay for the repair at all. We haggled on the price since we knew we'd have to spend some money to fix a few of the issues. We signed the paperwork and drove off the lot. Just a few miles down the highway, the park assist light and the check engine light came on. We took it to our mechanic right away, and they gave us a long list of things that needed to be replaced. The repairs would cost us $2600, not including fixing the AC line. Can you believe it? We just bought this vehicle, and it was supposedly checked by certified mechanics before being sold to me, a new mom! We ended up spending $2500 on repairs. I want Strong Auto to buy back this vehicle, but they refuse to do so. The owner won't even call me back. I put $2000 as a down payment and took a loan for around 7500. I want $10000 to cover the loan and reimburse me for part of what I've put down and spent on the vehicle. I can provide receipts and paperwork if needed.
We regrettably bought a 2017 Infiniti QX60 from Strong Auto with 49,000 miles and a 3-year extended warranty
We regrettably bought a 2017 Infiniti QX60 from Strong Auto with 49,000 miles and a 3-year extended warranty. We paid them $35,249.92 for this lemon. This car has been nothing but trouble since we got it. The speedometer shows the speed limit as ten mph higher than the actual speed, and after hearing a terrible noise from the engine, we took it to Infiniti of Lexington for help. They said we need to replace both the speedometer and the engine, which would cost $22,942.89! They assured us, "The car has a clean carfax." - They never showed it to us, but we foolishly believed them. They told us, "It's a great car that will last you a long time." - But later we found out from Infiniti that the car hasn't been serviced since 29,000 miles, causing damage and sludge in the engine. They said, "Don't worry about anything because our extended warranty covers ALL problems." This warranty company, Easy Care, won't cover anything! The owner *** responded, "The car is sold as-is, call the warranty company, deal with them." We asked for a refund or a trade for a vehicle of equal value, but they refused both requests. They did offer to sell the car at auction for us, claiming we'd make "big money," "maybe more than what you paid," and give us credit towards another vehicle. This "solution" proves that this dealership can't be trusted. They even admitted, "this car even scares them." Yet they're willing to sell it at auction, making it someone else's problem! That's highly unethical. This experience has been terrible. We'll never recommend Strong Auto to anyone. They're an unethical car dealer, and after reading other ComplaintsBoard.com reviews, it's clear they've taken advantage of many people.
Employee intentionally misrepresented the condition of a vehicle to gain a deposit to hold, as we live out state
Employee intentionally misrepresented the condition of a vehicle to gain a deposit to hold, as we live out state. Then, refused to return our money. I inquired about a 2014 ***, and was contacted by salesman *** I immediately asked (1) whether there was any damage to the vehicle's exterior or interior that could not be seen visibly in the advertised photos. He responded, "No. The vehicle is in immaculate, pristine condition." (2) I asked if the vehicle had been smoked in, stating to him that I have asthma. He said, "No, it had not." (3) I asked if it had any mechanical issues. He said, "Absolutely not, it wouldn't be on our lot if it had." He immediately began touting another buyer, stating it would be the best idea to put a $500.00 hold deposit down since we were from out of state, or we would likely lose it by morning. There was a preliminary discussion about financing. I mentioned we'd been offered 2.99% at another facility, because our credit was excellent. He then began pushing to run our credit and stated that 2.99% would be no problem if it was. I needed to speak with my husband before running our credit. My husband and I agreed to allow them to move forward. Mr. called back with various payment scenarios, and again pushed about a deposit, again mentioning the other buyer. My husband and I then had a 3-way conversation with Mr.. The entire time he pressured us with the other buyer issue. He said it would be gone by the time my husband could get there if we did not do a hold deposit. My husband chose to make the hold deposit based upon the condition Mr. described to us and the advertised photos. The next day, we spoke further about the possible payment options. ONLY THEN did Mr. state it would not be at the 2.99% that he'd promised, but a higher rate (despite our credit being excellent as we'd said). This was AFTER he had already taken our money. I pointed this out and he became very hostile with me, wanting very much to argue. He even implied I was lying when I stated he had said nothing about a higher rate the day before when pushing for the deposit. Mr. was very out of line and unprofessional. I immediately began feeling uneasy about the vehicle's true condition at this point, as he was proving to be dishonest in nature. I then spoke with one of the owners, Mr. ***, in hopes to avoid further discussion with Mr.. On 8/22, my husband made the 181 mile trip to their location. Indeed, the vehicle was NOT as Mr. had described. There was interior and exterior damage intentionally not shown to us in photos which he could have easily sent via text, or email, or simply been honest and told us. The vehicle smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. My husband test drove the vehicle and there were two service lights for both the AWD, and the rear axle that remained on the entire test drive. Therefore, there WAS mechanical issues. We were lied to. When my husband approached both Mr., and Mr. ***, telling them the vehicle had been intentionally misrepresented to us and we wanted our money returned, they flat refused. I recall Mr. had told me most all of their business was from out of state. I am sure it is. I fully feel this is a business angle they use often. They advertise a vehicle with seemingly flawless photos. Then, lie about it's condition to interested out-of-state prospective buyers. They pressure for a deposit by touting another buyer is on the line. Once the would-be buyers see it's real condition, the dealership then refuses a refund and keeps their money. This happens until someone eventually buys it. In the end, the vehicle makes them much more than it's worth. This was blatant misrepresentation to gain our hold deposit. I have been under extreme duress since 8/18, due to this dealership and their very unethical business practices. I want our money returned as this is the right, moral, and ethical thing to do. I was searching for a dependable vehicle to help take my father to upcoming cancer treatments. I did not deserve this. Neither will the next person, nor the next.
