Heads up agent parents! I learned about supermodels unlimited online and decided to contact them because they were having a pageant in our area. Over the span of more than half a dozen emails I asked questions to learn what the required and optional events were, and about the rules and expectations for the contestants. Even though I asked several times that a registration packet of all that standard information be emailed to me, all I received your short email answers. When I asked about the optional events I was told there was "photogenic, hospitality, and more!" I was also told to sign up immediately as the special was ending tomorrow. Really? It's the middle of the week and its not even the end of the month. Odd time for a special to end. Also the fee for the pageant was about $600 on the high end for a natural girls beauty pageant, but I would definitely still sign up if I knew the event was quality and well run. Even after several requests I never received a registration packet, nor a list of all the optionals and additional fees. Even very small pageant systems have this information readily available to contestants and parents . This information is clearly standard for any quality pageant and I don't appreciate being pressured to sign up when I haven't received the information in writing. Supermodels unlimited is supposedly the premier magazine for pageantry, but they clearly have a lot to learn about directing a pageant event. Just in this greater metro area, there are dozens of pageants throughout the year for a young lady to choose from. SU really needs to step it up! Perhaps they were just too busy trying to recruit my daughter for a photoshoot at $400 for 2 headshots outrageous! Parents be warned! If they pageant can't provide basic information in writing, obviously do not enter that pageant!
