I am also waiting for my refund since 9/22/2010. Customer service sucks. I mailed in the required"refund form", and I am still waiting. DO NOT USE SWIPE AUCTIONS. It is a huge scam, refunds are not given within 2. weeks as stated it has been a little over a month

The site is deceptive and I am still also waiting for my $159 refund times two - yes times two! I got charged twice for the $159. When I chatted with a customer service rep she said no, that doesn' t happen but yet I received two email confirmations and two charges on my credit card. Again, still waiting for my refund. Not happy with the site or customer service at all!

I am also a victim of this latest scam. On 10/1/10, I saw this online and applied. As soon as I got to the end and realized it was going to cost me $159 to become a member, I tried to cancel it. I was told - nope, too late, the charge has already gone thru. Shame on me for believing I was really going to get a deal. The same day I printed out the cancellation form online and sent it out and was told it would be 3 weeks before I see the credit on my charge account, and to call back to make sure they received it. A week ago I called, 10/22 and was told, no they could not tell me anything and that I would have to call back in another week. Well, I called back today 11/1 and was told that I would NOT be receiving a refund and was given some garbage that they were "winding down" and that there would be no refunds given, and that there was nothing else they could do. I asked for a phone number and was given [protected] which I called. I was read from the same script that they were "winding down" and nothing they can do and have a nice day and hung up on. I then called back again and a young lady told me the same thing. I told her I wanted another number to call and talk with someone who was not reading from a script. She gave me [protected]. I then called that number, and guess what, the same girl answered. This is really a nasty scam to take money from people who are working 2 jobs and trying to make ends meet. Then they thumb their noses at you and disappear. Shame on me for being an honest person and shame on SWIPE AUCTIONS for being such crooks. At least they have their name right - they do SWIPE your money. Kathy Doyle, Mason, Ohio

I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THIS SINCE 9/18/2010 I WAS TOLD TO PRINT THE FORM OUT FILL IT OUT AND SEND IT BACK. I DID THAT THEN I WAS TOLD IT TAKES 15 OR 16 DAYS, AFTER 18 DAYS I WAS TOLD 28 DAYS AFTER 28 DAYS I WAS TOLD I WAS GETTING MY REFUND RETURNED TO MY CARD IN 6 TO 10 BUSSINESS DAYS THEN WHEN I CALLED TODAY, I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS SHUTTING DOWN AND THERE WOULD BE NO REFUNDS I CALLED [protected] FOUR TIMES AND WAS READ THE SAME SCRIPT. I ALSO WAS TOLD THEY ARE NOT TAKEING ANY MORE MEMBERSHIPS. BUT WHEN I DID A FAKE NAME AND USE A CREDIT CARD THAT I HAD NO MONEY ON IT WANTED TO GO THROUGH. THIS IS ALL ONE BIG SCAM PREYING ON PEOPLE LOOKING FOR DEALS IN HARD TIMES. I NEVER SAW THAT IT COST 159 DOLLARS TO JOIN, UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE. AND THEY PROMISE TO RETURN MY MONEY, IF ANY ONE KNOWS WHAT I CAN DO PLEASE LET ME KNOW. bartkempprince@yahoo.com

@TheLoveFist II,

I believe you need to do your research on this company, its owner, and its prior dealings before you go accusing anyone of anything. Noone is going to invest the time and expense of litigating against a company that they believe has unjustly debited $150.00 from them, it is not worth it. If, however, you extrapolate that by the multitude of people that this has happened to- you will find that, as a whole, there is a lot of money that has been removed from a lot of hard working people's bank accounts.

I am not going to waste my time with people as ill-informed (or as bias?) as yourself. As such, if you should have anything substantive to say, I encourage you to make it known on this forum. If all you are going to do is be accusatorial, I would tred lightly on any libelous trash you plan on imputing.

There is a need for research. Here is something simple for you, "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck- chances are it's a duck." The parent company of swipeauctions.com has been sued by Microsoft, Oprah, and Symantec- all for similar dealings revolving around deception and theft. They were also sued for stealing a pink ribbon symbol from an Australian Breast Cancer Awareness organization. 20/20 and a Candaian news station have done a news reports on this company and it's false dealings. I will agree with you on one thing, swipeauctions.com does do everything you stated above, deceptively.

Let me posit a few questions for you:

1) In light of all of these complaints and in lieu of even more, why not make the simplistic change of adding a CONFIRM button AFTER entering the billing information.

2) I've viewed the page that states you are being charged $159.99 USD before entering your billing information. It is on the page, but buried around a slew of other things and made to blend. Obviously people are not seeing it, so why has it never changed? Why not follow the standards that most other auction sites follow? I believe it has never changed because it accomplishes exactly what it aims to do.

3) Why is swipeauctions.com being marketed online through the use of fake News Stations offering their "in depth" reports of how great swipeauctions.com is. These sites are made to look exactly like an ACTUAL news company that has done an ACTUAL report on swipeauctions.com. But in reality it is a fake site, there is no reporter, there is no news station, it is just a clever farce perpetrated on the general public in an attempt to boost swipeauctions.com legitmacy. Do not even bring up the point that the site states that "it is not a real news site, " as that is in micro 4 font at the bottom of the page in grey color (also made to blend). See:

http://memphisgazette.com/
http://www.channel9newstoday.com/

4) Why has the better business bureau and other federal agency's warned about doing business with Just Think Media, Terra Marketing Group and Alberta Ltd, the parent-owner company's of swipeauctions.com

5)Why has Jesse Willms, the company's CEO, recently gone on a internet propoganda rampage- creating tons of personal blogs and other related sites speaking to how great, chartiable, and ethical he is? What a great attempt to push all of the unfavorable google results off of the first page of a Google search on Jesse Willms.

6)Why has First Data, swipeauction's merchant bank, dropped swipeauctions? Because of how great they are?

7) Why, when I asked for a refund myself (1 minute after purchasing bids), was I adamently told that I would have to fill out forms and wait weeks before I could be refunded, and that this was the only way- but as soon as I mentioned FRAUD, was given an immediate refund.

I could keep the list going, but as I believe it could never been exhausted, I will stop here.

That is what YOU claim to be the issue at hand. "Research" would reveal that there are numerous other issues at hand, not just the one sole issue that you state there is. Remember the term deceptive, something can manage to not be transparent (although I believe it is transparent) and at the same time be deceptive. I think this all speaks for itself.

Your "bottom line" is far from the bottom, you just scratch the superficial surface and would like everyone here to take what you say at face value. Just because that website stated somewhere that a charge $159.99 USD was going to be levied does not in and of itself absolve swipeauctions.com of the legal implications for all of their acts.

Swipe auctions is like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit just out of reach. Buy it on ebay at least you will win, not have the bid go up at the last second. Did you know swipe auctions bids on it's own items, if they think it is going for to cheap!

Avoid these scammers like the plague.

I am sorry all you have had these problems. As Swipe Auctions is closing and you have tried dealing with them, you may want to try the Parent Company too by the name of "Terra Marketing Group". Details on that or more info can be had at:

Also, go to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint if you feel you have been wronged.

I am utterly disgusted with USAA Mortgage Services. When I call for a status on my VA refinance, my processor barely can form a sentence in English and is also very rude. She will never return a call either. On 1 loan, this is my 4th processor assigned! None of them could speak very good english neither were they kind. Nothing against Mexican American people- however, in business, you need bright, articulate, knowledgeable staff that communicate kindly and effectively. I give up AND I also will be contacting Clark Howard to tell him my disgust! USAA Mortgage is based in San Antonio. I did some checking around and found that it is the policy of USAA Mortgage to hire and promote Mexican Americans over caucasian. Who gets hurt the blatent favortism like this? It is the Veteran! I am trying to warn everyone I can to stay away from them! In the name of "political correctness" they are hurting the customer and I am disgusted. Hmmm is it a coincidence that the CEO is a Mexican American as well? Joe Robles USAA Mortgage Services is Toxic and should be avoided.

I foolishly was also lured into the $159.00 without my consent. I have followed all procedures to obtain a refund. The website has been shut-down. I called [protected]. A greeting states, upon calling, that "...due to the site shut-down...there are no customer service representatives available to take your call...go to www.swipeauctions.com and click on live chat."

Obviously, this is not possible since the site is unavailable.

I also had the same problem with swipe auctions. I was charged $159 for nothing. I couldn't reach anyone by phone to dispute the charge, but was able to talk to someone online (chat). They said that I had to complete some forms (Mail Refund Request) with my signature and send it in the mail to request the cancellation. I did so, and faxed them the forms. It passed 2 months and a week, and still nothing. I then tried to go online at swipeauctions.com to get their customer service phone number since I didn't have it written down, and now their site is down/not accessible, and I was stuck with no phone number to call, UNTIL I ran into this site of reviews and complaints. I couldn't believe my eyes how many people were affected about this same problem. I went through each one hoping to see someone mentioning a phone number of contact. I found this - Allied Wallet (rep. name Mina), she said they no longer work with Swipe Auctions, but she would like to look up the file anyway to help me out. She was able to track the file by using the last 4 digits of the credit card, and she said she will cancel my account and issue the refund within 7-10 days (which will post on the credit card). She also gave me a confirmation number. I only pray that this will work. I will follow up on here regarding this situation. I wish everyone luck in the future. Thanks.

I have been taken also. I tried to get my money back only to be told about the same as all of you. The bull about waiting another month, then the merchant ###. Now their saying the time has gone by so I am not able to get a refund . EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THIS RIP OFF PLACE. I can't believe people continue to work for a place that does this to people time & time again. I also tried going through the bank but I use a debit account, the bank could or would not help. If any one knows what we all could try please let me know, I would love to see them get what's coming to them for taking the poorer people out there just looking to save a little here. sweetjustice1963@yahoo.com

I dont know what else to do or say but I was an idiot and this person behind swipe auctions, may you go to hell - these people did not deserve to get scammed/ripped off.

I totally agree with how badly the information is displayed ... for someone who is just browsing through it doesnt stand out at all that you have to pay the $159 upfront... when I put my info in I figured it was just put on file for my first purchase ... I too called within a minute of being charged, for my refund and was told that same crap ... print out the forms yada yada yada ... I am still waiting for my money back and it sure as hell has been longer than the time frame stipulated by their people as to when the refund should have occured.
Living in this economy is hard enough with out this crap happening to honest though sometimes blind /naive people.

There's nothing "transparent" about how they provide the info on their web page ... its hidden in a page full of colorful text boxes knowing full well regular people wont take time to read everything before acting ... I too pulled the blonde moment and signed up thinking that the info required was for the first purchase I make. I freaked when I seen I was being charged right away and called the number listed. I was also given the bull of print off the forms and send them in ... yada yada yada ... that was back in November.. I am still waiting for my refund. It's hard enough to survive in this screwed up economy the gov't has us in without some twits scamming the li'l people who albeit may be blind and naive but still puts in a honest days work.
