Worst Bank Ever!
Each time I make a payment on a card owned by Synchrony Bank, they lower my credit limit which puts a hit in my credit rating each time. I paid off the care credit vet bill timely, and they cancelled the credit account. This banks practices will ruin your credit rating. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they just give a spiel about how they review accounts. They took over QVC and merged with HSN and my credit bill skyrockted with charges. Worst company ever!

It seems these people are going through a purge of its card holders. They canceled all of my cards, yes, some were unused and had no balance, but some did and I used on a regular basis, paid on time every month, no over limit, no collections, nothing, and now they are closed, and they say I am a high risk? I have seen that in many of these posts. A high risk from what? If bills are paid on time, the credit report reports it as such, so whats the High risk thing? It has taken me 10+ years to build up my score and credit after a bad ending to a marriage, I cant wait to see how bad my score takes a hit over this... The fun part is, I talked to people on the phone, and they were as baffled as I was over the High risk thing when they see my accounts were paid with a little extra and on time. I don't get it, I just wonder how many people in total they have done this too.

Home credit card
I called to resolved a credit limit decrease in my account and the representative named Ashley did not help me at all. She just stated that I was going to receive a letter with the reason . I said, can you please transfer me to someone that can assist my needs and she just placed me on hold for 25 minutes . I just needed to see about how to get my credit limit as I had it before . I have only made 1 late payment (Which I called and noticed synchrony bank ) and was told to call back ones I was ready to make payment . After 35 minutes on hold, I then was transfer to a manager that told me about that he could not help me even thought I had been a loyal customer and had only made 1 late payment throughout the years that I have with this account . He also mention how they base it on my credit, which I don't understand since I have a 700 credit report . I feel very disappointed .

Pay Pal Smart Connect
I have disputed a charge of $209.99 twice. I have sent proof from UPS that the package in question was never delivered to me or my address, but
Synchrony has sided with a foreign company who says they delivered the package to me. Even proof from UPS is not enough for them to take this charge off my bill. I am a senior citizen and losing $209.99 is a hardship on me but if I don't pay it, my credit will be effected. I am so very disappointed in Synchrony bank for backing a foreign company instead of their loyal customer who pays in full every month.
Desired outcome: remove that false charge from my account.
I too am having the same issue with them! I ordered some gym equipment from some site that turned out to be a scam. I am still fighting to get my money back ($218). A foreign company also claimed that the items were delivered and provided a phony UPS tracking number. I will be filing an official complaint against them with the BBB. I say we start a class action lawsuit. Loyal customers like ourselves are making purchases with confidence thinking we’re going to be protected by their Buyer Protection.
Credit card dispute
We disputed an unauthorized charge to our credit card. Synchrony initiated an "investigation" but never considered the information that I provided. The merchant (Sleepy Heads) sent them a copy of a signed document that we also provided. That document referred to furniture that was inspected by us, shipped and received. None of that applied to us. They said to fill put the paperwork so that my wife wouldnt have to do it the next day when I went to look at a piece in the show room. At that point we decided that we wanted to look around some more.
Before signing my wife was told that the store would provide a full refund if we decided not to buy it. That conversation and the one the following day when I was there, was extensive. We had a different furniture store (Furniture Now) refuse to refund our money when we tried to cancel a couple hours after the salesman asked us to sign THEIR document a few days before. The sales rep at Sleepy Heads talked about The owner of that store, and his son that took over being sleezy. She said that Sleepy Heads was a very reputable family owned business and "would never do something like that." But thats exactly what happened. The owner of Sleepy Heads refused to cancel the transaction. We told him what his sales person told us but he said that it never happened. He then claimed to have a video of our discussion but refused to show us. We assume because he was lying because we had an extensive conversation about it with the sales person. And a video would prove that if he really had one. But he refused to share the video with is because he said that "he didnt have to." I told him that I would have my credit card company dispute the unauthorized charge. He said "go ahead. I have a signed document."
Synchrony accepted his signed document in spite of our detailed claim. Synchrony took 4 months and put the charge back on my account without considering the Information that I provided. And without discussing it with me or even notifying me. And when we called to ask about it Synchrony said that the disputed amount was being processed and would come off our account the following month. My wife didnt want to pay the $1, 900 disputed amount so we called again. Again we were told that it was just a matter of timing. But their explanations didnt make sense because we didnt see it on our statements. And the Synchrony rep couldnt see it either. You may ask why she told us this when she couldnt see it. So we asked to speak to a supervisor. She put us on hold for 10 minutes and returned to tell is that they made an error. That we lost the dispute because Sleep Heads provided them with a signed contract. Yes, the same one that we already provided. We insisted on talking to a supervisor who told is the same thing. He suggested calling master card because Synchrony policies did not allow for him to do anything further. We explained that the contract did not apply to our situation. He suggested filing a claim with a local magistrate. This could have been communicated the same day that we filed a claim. Now we are 4 months after the transaction with absolutely no investigation. Synchrony didnt just do nothing, but kept us from doing anything by not communicating to us earlier. I want Synchrony to look at the details of the contract to see that they dont apply to our situation. And I want them to ask to see the videos that he claims (4 months ago!) That he has (haD!)

Amazon store card
They close my account three weeks after having the card for only two weeks no bill due paid my bill in full way before the due date and they close my account for a so called return payment and when I put my face on my profile they didn't want to explain I even had conformation numbers for my payments they claim was returned and pictures it came out of my account but when they found out I was black they didn't want to talk

Pulling credit reports without authorization
I've had this card for well over a year and paid everything on time every single month. I even pay more than the minimum. And they pulled my credit report as a hard inquiry twice without my approval. I've never asked for a limit increase. They ended up dropping my credit limit twice while imposing hard inquiries! I am now pursuing legal action against them!
Desired outcome: Money back or place my limit back where it was originally
If you file a class action lawsuit I'm in they close my account and my bill wasn't even due yet and by the time it was due it was paid in full still before the due date now I have a 10 dollar credit plus the credit I paid and can't use none of it and it's my money

I paid my PayPal account in full for 2627.00 on Aug 3 and the amount was debited from my bank. They only gave me credit for 800 dollars when I called they said they were holding my payment that was electronically transferred for 15 Days ! I have never heard of a check being held that long much less an EFT. On top of that I overpaid them 1000 dollars and they are now holding that EFT for 13 days what a ripoff. When i called about the overpayment they said they would send me a check for the overage after the EFT "cleared". This is a Bank to Bank transfer done electronically they are keeping this money to charge additional interest and fees. This is nothing but a clear RIPOFF. Their supervisors are surly and short this is sup[posed to be a financial services company they should be fined and have their license changed to Loan Shark. I found it funny that they can transfer payments electronically but they have to send me a check for an Overpayment - this is the height of FRAUD - as soon as i get my money back I closing my PayPal account - these guys are the worst bank i have ever dealt with in my 50 years of banking. Don't do business with them Buyer Beware When you make a payment they claim it will post right away but may take up to 8 days to appear in my credit line... I guess they added another 7 days because I pay on time and I overpaid..

Turned down for an Amazon Prime Card by bank with a 850 FICO score. could not even speak to anyone to discover how this could happen. It is impossible to even get a phone call through to speak to anyone without having a credit card number and of course I don't have one. Worst bank ever.

Lousy customer service for replacement of damaged card
Discovered my Car Care card was damaged and outdated when trying to buy tires. Had not received new card, but don't know if that was fault of post office or Synchrony. Called customer service from dealership (which did accept card and associate was right there), was told they couldn't do anything because that dealership did not accept the card. Paid for the tires by another method. Later, today (August 5, 2021) logged in to see if there was an automated method to replace card. Found only call number to report lost or stolen card, so logged into Chat. Gave information to the automated 'person' who then transferred me to live chat representative. I was in the process of answering questions about name, number, etc., when a survey popped up and when I had cleared that (without filling it out) and returned to what I was trying to do, the representative had closed the chat.

Good morning I had a store from this bank my name is Joseph Harris I had the card only one month no bill was even dew yet they put the wrong information in and blame me for a miss payment that wasn't due yet close my account for paying my bill I called and spoke with someone and tried to explain my bill wasn't due and she said your account was closed only when they found out I was black they treated me even worst I think it was racist and they clearly showed it and not only do this place have bad customer the people are racist and there quick to try to mess up your credit score if your black don't apply for the Amazon store card with these people racist company and I'm going to report you guys to the news
Cannot reach anyone. Hold for 30 minutes and disconnected three times.
I have been trying to reach Synchrony for two days in order to do a change of address and discuss one of my CDs. Their system does not recognize my social security number although I have been a customer for years. The recording says they have a 30 minute wait time and I'm placed on hold. After 30 minutes I am disconnected. I am unable to reach anyone regarding these important matters. This has happened three times now and I need to speak to someone.
Desired outcome: I want a telephone call from them at [protected] and if they cannot reach me I want a number I can call back that goes to a real person.
Credit services and customer service
I my husband has a Sam's Club and a Loew's Credit Card. He lives out of town and comes home on the weekends. We share a checking account with both names as signers. I have been paying the bills for 32 years of marriage. Synchrony has allowed me to make payments sometimes, and sometimes it won't. In January I became infected with Covid. He could not come home for 3 weeks. I cslled up and made both the Sam's Club and Loew's . In addition, I have a woman all of my information for automatic payments on the Loew's Card. In addition they took my payments for Sam's and Loew's. When I realized the payments were not automatically being taken out in May, I called. They claimed they had no record of thd phone call. They did acknowledge the payments...and then Informed me they had closed the account. I continued to make the payments by phone through the automated payment system. Today, it did not give me the option and said tgeSsm's Club account had not been activated. If Credit Card companies do not want you to or allow you to pay your Bill (I am NOT trying to charge anything, I AM TRYING TO MSKE A PAYMENT!) then they should not be able to ruin your credit rating snd your life.
Desired outcome: Remove clised account from my husband’s credit report, and allow him to put some sort of letter on file to give me permission to make his payments.
Discount tire card
I used my Discount Tire card to buy tires and rims for my truck. Both the rims and tires were on back order, so I had them paid off before they were supposed to be in. They never came so I canceled my order. I called Synchrony to have them put the money back on my card. They claim they do not have a way to do that, that they can only send me a check. If they can take payments over the phone, or internet, they can reverse the charges and give me my money back.
Desired outcome: I want them to put my money back in to my account, WITHOUT send me a check
Synchrony bank credit Old Navy Navyist Credit Card
I had an Old Navy credit card switched to Navyist rewards credit because it offered more perks ..not changed by me but by the Old Navy company online account...I owed 62.25 which I paid on time as of July 27 2021 by Bluebird debit card which was rejected by electronic email saying for various reasons it was put back on my American Express Bluebird Account even though you are requested to pay by debit card online or other payment methods.. for Amazon payment by telephone a payment was made with debit card for 43.00 around 7/27/2021 also which was rejected because automation said it can be debit card so again suddenly it switched to Visa or Mastercard after inputting American Express card...and no email to acknowledge the payment.
So now they reversed the payment from debit American Express and claim I still owe 62.25 to Old Navy Navyist Rewards credit card.

Interest on my account
I made 2 payments on my account in one day and the lesser payment cancelled out leaving interest to be charged on my account... I have been hung up on multiple times trying to get this issue resolved without any success... Please help... I have made multiple attempts to get this resolved.. Have been hung up on multiple times... I have had a death dad in the family and have lost job from covid... I can't afford to pay all that interest!

Walmart Card statements prior to Sept 2019
I have made three attempts via customer service of Synchrony to obtain statements prior to Sept 2019 of my Walmart card for a personal matter.
The current request is January 2018-Sept 2019. There maybe additional requests in the future for statements prior to January 2018 and request those files to be retained and reserved or given at this time as well, dating back to 2015.
A message can be left with any helpful details such as and not limited to a specific person in a specific department with direct contact phone number and email.
Information can be sent to my email or to my home address on request.
I have not added any private information to this email and can be obtained after contact.
This is time sensitive and needed urgently.

Amazon/Synchrony account
First. I made a payment towards my Amazon account thru Synchrony Bank online. The payment was made In full in the amount of $2, 069.42. Unfortunately, I never received a receipt for this payment. So I followed the online instructions to communicate with an online text app. The app had an automated operator on the Synchrony side and was never in sync with my questions that I needed answers to. Also, the app stated that when I made my payment, the date field format was incorrect. I used the calendar to the right of the field to select today's date and it came back with a formar error. The program suggested the date format should be as follows: MMDDYYYY. Unfortunately, when using the calendar icon the date populated the field as follows: MM/DD/YYYY. To exacerbate matters, the app would not allow me to correct it to the appropriate format. GARBAGE PROGRAMMING! Also, I was unable to verify my paid in Full payment, nor received an email or text verifying my payment. There was a link on the page suggesting that by clicking it I would be connected to customer service. Since I was on Synchrony text app, I assumed I would be connected via a phone call to Synchrony. Hard to believe, but I was connected to Amazon customer service that was totally useless and a -10 in customer service rating. Finally, I contacted Synchrony, and since my fiancé wasn't available as she had to attend to household duties after waiting almost an hour on the phone with Amazon. Now Amazon was compliant in speaking to me after providing my fiancée s account info, but Synchrony wouldn't comply. Now if the name of the account was male in gender, they would have no idea who they were speaking to, as I have access to ALL of my fiancée account info. All I wanted to verify was the status of my payment in full in the amount of $2, 069.42.. NOBODY WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THIS INFO. At this point, I am willing to cancel my Amazon account after over 6 years of purchases and a perfect payment history. This way you can concentrate on your Space endeavors instead of your loyal customers. My rating for today's customer service is a -10. I've never in my life, took time after a incompetent call to complain. Only to compliment the service if warranted. Today's calls were DISGUSTING!
Extremely Insulting Rude Customer Service
Was called on 7/27/21 by someone id ing themselves as the fraud dept. regarding what they suspected was a fraudulent account in my name.
I called the number listed on the website at 900PST on 7/28 with the intent of verifying if in fact that was the case, (ie had they actually reached out to me, and not a phone scam for information); and if so to mitigate the situation.
My first call went to customer service, who said they would transfer me to the fraud dept. Instead I was disconnected. I called back, the second time I was transferred then put on hold for 10 min.. then disconnected. On the third attempt at 947PST I was connected to a call center where the man on the other end kept interrupting me with Hmmm Hmm Hmm noises, then began some bizarre rant about logic, which became insulting, with him ranting on about how he did not care what I was calling about.
Beginning to lose my cool myself at this point in the tirade I reminded him that the call was supposedly recorded, and he had no call to be rude; to which he redoubled his efforts. At this point I lost my temper told him that I hoped Karma would crap on his head. And hung up.
TL/DR: Called to verify if a fraud call was actually from Synchrony, was disconnected 2X, transferred to someone who must be ready to quit, and chose me to take it out on.
Desired outcome: Besides the Complete overhaul of customer service dept; I would like to actually know if there was fraudulent activity on my account- But I am 100% not going to call again
