Ebay
The limit on my Ebay, Venmo and Amazon accounts was suddenly lowered without good cause. I am still employed, use my credit cards and make payments on time. This along with the credit accounts you closed for not being used has harmed my credit score in addition to the lower limit the few dollars I owe appear to be that I am at a max. I've been doing very well without this company damaging my credit. My score dropped enormously!
Desired outcome: Reinstate my credit limit or at least half of it.
I want the loan for the full amount.
Applied for Credit Loan today (08Sep2023) with Synchrony Bank for 48 months 0%. Have paid off other purchases in prior years through Synchrony. Was purchasing a Tenor Saxophone form Woodwind/Brasswind. Synchrony would not finance the full amount of the purchase. This renders the loan useless to me. I have perfect credit and I feel I am being discriminated against because my credit history is too perfect. They want a large sum up front to negate the fact that I pay everything off in advance and they don't reap the Finance Charges. There is no way I should be denied the full amount of this purchase. As a result, I am forced to buy elsewhere and shop around for a fairer financing deal.
They put my money on hold
I was paying a bill on eBay after I paid I was going to use it again and got declined cause I made a big payment to the bank to reduce my credit so I can have a lot to spend so they told me to wait 7 days so I can use some mor3 when I had bills to pay this is the worst card you can get the customer service is very bad I got crazy on the phone with these people u can barely understand them seems to me that they are all from a different country the way they sound plus talked to 2 supervisors that were very rude and laughed at me so I said to them some things that u would not believe I’m a type of guy thst people don’t talk back to and I wish I was face to face with these scammers I’m just going to pay this bill off and cancel and move on but to all people that wants to open an account on here stay away trust me on this nothing but problems was on the phone for hours with these people and even had PayPal on the line with me when I was talking to these other people and they could not believe that they were doing this to me I’m also going to the police anfpd I’m going to press charges and I kept the phone call on a record and I talked with a lawyer already so I actually have a big case cause what they said and did and what they did to my account thanks so much eBay master card see u guys in court have a great day
Desired outcome: They need to apologize and to gibpve me the money back
Lowe’s Credit Card Closure
I was just notified by Synchrony Bank that they are closing my Lowe’s account due to the “ risk of my ability to pay.” I have had this account since 2007 & never missed any payments ever. I also have a credit score of 833.
I contacted Synchrony via email about this & they told me that they stand by their decision based on the “ algorithms “ they use for this process. I find this whole situation unbelievable & I would NEVER recommend doing business with this bank for anything. I will be writing about my experience to the CEO of Lowe’s as they just lost a 16 year customer as a result of this debacle.
Synchrony hopefully learns that customer satisfaction really doesn’t come from closing people’s accounts for zero reason after 16 years. I am also writing to their CEO about this experience as well.
Desired outcome: I want to understand why this happened & an honest answer. Hiding behind our algorithm figured this out is an absolute joke for a business that exists only to service their customers
I literally just had the same situation with my sams club card. I have a good credit score and i paid my bills on time. They did an assessment and felt I was a risk, Risk to what? I make my payments. This is not fair to people who pay their accounts on time.
Continual erroneous assessment and billing...
I purchased an All-In-One printer from eBay in March 2023 that proved defective, did NOT operate at all. I learned after the fact, there was no working driver; therefore, the printer was completely inoperable. Although I tried to locate a driver replacement, my attempts were unsuccessful, none could be located anywhere. I therefore returned the item. It was received by eBay, in house, on June 13, 2023.
I purchased that item with my newly acquired PayPal credit account, funded by Synchrony Bank. I have NOT received a refund in the amount of $193.95 from eBay, PayPal, or Synchrony Bank to date - both interest and late charges continually accruing.
Interestingly, as an inducement for opening this PayPal account, an offer of no interest for purchases until October was advanced. I regret accepting that offer now.
In addition, it appears, absent the refund and including all erroneous charges, I am continually assessed a balance due, currently in the amount of i$253.46, a payment of $73.00 due according to both PayPal and Synchrony Bank, which, again, accrues and accrues...
Desired outcome: A refund in the amount of $193.95 for the returned printer and reversal of any and all erroneous charges, including interest and late charges...please...
Billing
I have unfortunately been with Synchrony bank for the past several years, and it has been a terrible experience. The phone wait times are extremely long and the customer service reps are rude and unhelpful. They make very little exceptions for customers in issuing refunds or others means on inconvenience even when it was their fault and error for what is happening with my account. I received no notifications of a payment due or despite my account being set up for reminders for when the bill is due. But they surely hit me with the late fee. The interests rate is extremely high. In the world we live in with advanced technology, it should not take nearly 2 weeks for a payment/physical check to be withdrawn and mailed out from my bank to send to this bank before the deadline of 5th of the month. The merchants between my bank and this bank took SEVERAL days to process so I often got a late fee and they were very rarely willing to waive the late fee.
Every time I turned around, there was another payment due and interest was being accrued despite having paid off the entire bill. I would strongly not recommend this company.
Desired outcome: There is nothing this company can do to earn my business again. I have finally paid off my bill IN FULL, despite their several attempts to keep charging me unlawfully. I am glad this process is over.
Erroneously closed account
Hello:
When I first opened my account, I attached a checking account number and by accident later on learned there was a typo in my account, however, after making a few phone calls I was told the reason for the rejection of my payment. I still made payments way over the requested amount and when my next payment processes I will only owe $400.00. I was told there were multiple attempts to call me. My phone has a roboapp killer. If you are not in my contacts it will not ring through. I could have been sent an e-mail or regular mail informing me of the mix-up. What I cannot understand - I made several hundred dollar payments after fixing the mistake and they still closed my loan?
Earlier this year I used my care credit card and signed up for direct (not automatic) deposit. I did not realize that I typed my checking account number incorrectly. I was told several unsuccessful attempts were made to contact me by phone due to the incorrect account number. I explained, I have a robo killer app on my phone and unless you are in my contacts it will not ring through.
I finally resolved the problem, although my account was closed and am being told cannot be reopened.
First of all, on my side of the computer - there is a small ring of dots circling, saying your payment of $871.00 is processing. That payment was one of the first with the incorrect checking account number (in fact there may have been two of them for the same amount?) going back to february and march 2023. Why am I seeing it as still processing?
Second, my credit score is over 800 and I am significantly ahead on payments to my synchrony care credit account bill. My required payments are less than $100.00, if you look at my activity you will see many payments for much larger amounts in several months,
I am asking, if my account can be reopened. It was closed simply due to a typographical mistake pertaining to my checking account number.
Please respond if there is anything you can do for me.
Sincerely,
Charles m. Greer

Sent on 8/09/2023. The principal on my house was $213,000.00 as of march 1st, 2023, it is now $152,00, that is $61,000, that is $61,000.00 in seven months. I purchased a 2020 elantra october 1st, 2022, 72 month loan - paid it off in february of 2023. In other words, I pay my bills, this account with care credit will most likely be paid off by the end of 2023 or first quarter of 2024. I pay everybody, every time, all the time!
Please respond if there is anything you can do for me.

Care Credit Card
I have owned my home for over 40 years. My husband left me 8 years ago and left me with a lot of debt and instead of filing bankrupcy I went through Turnbull Law Group and have been making $400 a month payments for over 4 years now, have never missed one payment and show on my credit report all payments have been made 100 percent on every card I have. I had a Care Credit Card for over 5 years that I used solely for medical purposes. I never missed one payment, never was late on one payment, and never went over my limit but you suddenly closed my account putting my health in jeopardy and destroying my credit score in the process.
Desired outcome: I want my account reopened with my $1000 limit just like I have had for the past 5 years.
closing my lowes account for NO REASON
THis past few days i have gotten several credit alerts from all credit bureaus about this crazy credit card company closing down my lowes card for no reason saying that i don't have real estate well 1st of all that is the reason that i had one for my house and this is the 2nd time this has happend with my lowes account and i am so sick of having to reapply and then they say your askiing for credit what the hell do they expect i didn't have 1 dollar on it and they come up with some stupid crap and my credit score was 694 and after they did that it dropped 56-points i cannot believe that lowes puts up with them at all they have lost walmart because of there crazy things they did to there credit card customers im telling you lowes is loosing alot of business because of this and i have no desire to go in there store i liked the store but dont like there credit card company it should be a law to stop this from happening to working people they are not for you at all but they sure want to charge you all there damn fees i can't believe they are still in business i saw 8800 complaints unreal
Desired outcome: well i think that my card should be reinstated since i did nothing wrong and i do have a house it is not fair im writing lowes about this also they need to be aware of how there customers are being treated
synchrony has closed my lowes and care credit accounts for the second time. i had nothing on care credit and i am paying lowes faithfully. they say i dont have a mortgage. should i have to have a mortgage to shop at lowes? a few years ago they dropped my jcpenny limit to $100. why do they have so many stores under their umbrella when they cancel you when they feel like it? I find this to be ridiculous.
Lowe’s cancelled my card without any explanation from them , I rarely use it but did purchase a fence for my property with it about 8 months ago I always paid on time never late , this is crazy I will not be shopping at Lowe’s in the future I will take all my business to Home Depot or Menards, congratulations Lowe’s and sycrony you just lost another customer.
I would like to add my experience to this as well…. Unbelievable they treat their customers like this.
I was just notified by Synchrony Bank that they are closing my Lowe’s account due to the “ risk of my ability to pay.” I have had this account since 2007 & never missed any payments ever. I also have a credit score of 833.

I just want to add to this. They closed my Ashley Furniture card before my furniture had gotten delivered. I was angry but just decided to pay it off and forget about it. I went to use my Amazon card and it was declined. At this point I decided to investigate all my accounts. I found out Amazon was closed, never late and balance was less than 10% of limit. My Care Credit Card has the available limit decreased every time I made a payment. So every month my credit usage on my card reflects about 95% credit usage. Good news is my Verizon Visa is good to go! Oh did I mention they lowered my credit limit from $3000 to $370.
They are killing my credit and telling me I’m high risk. There should be something us as consumers are able to do instead of watching our credit scores drop because of their ridiculous practices
PayPal Credit Card Account Refund
I have contacted PayPal and Synchrony Bank several times and sent them all the proofs regarding refund but so far, no luck and they just keep giving me run around since March 2022. My account balance should be $00 but they keep adding late charges and other fees. But after the refund my balance should be $00.
My Name: Balbir Manik, 12305 Portebello Dr, Bakersfield, Ca 93312, [protected], E Mail: [protected]@yahoo.com
Thanks!
Desired outcome: My balance should be $00 after they take off all the charges because I never received the item and Vender agreed to refund the full amount.
High yield saving account
I opened a HYS Account in April 2023. In order to transfer funds into the account I had to have my external accounts verified. The accounts were verified and I began transferring money to Synchrony Bank. I needed to make a withdrawal and that is when the problems began. The Bank put a restricted status on my account and was refusing me access to my funds. I called and they told me that they had to verify my external accounts and it would take 3-4 business days. The accounts had already been verified, so I knew that was a lie. The restricted status appeared on my account anytime I tried to access my money. Customer Service Reps could not provide any information as to why it was happening and that the "back office" is responsible. No one can communicate with the back office and apparently they don't have phones. After weeks of no access to my money I finally got a customer service person to investigate the issue and it turns out to be a computer issue and my account was in fact released within a day. I began removing my money from this bank due to the problems I kept having. Then it happened 2 more times. I was told there was nothing they could do until the status was unrestricted. Almost 3 weeks later it remains unresolved and I have no access to the remaining funds.
Desired outcome: I have been able to remove the majority of my money from this bank, but they are denying me access to the balance of $500.00. I just want my money refunded back to my verified external account from which it was originally sent.
Closure of accounts chevron and others
Several of my accounts were reduced without supplying any notice of intent, This has affected my credit score. Synchrony had assessed the high lines of credit over that past years and because of some internal decision making is reducing these accounts to the amount owed only. Please review this complaint on my behalf. The recent credit card was Chevron.
Desired outcome: Restore my accounts Paypal Chevron One Travel
Disputed charge on care credit account
I used my Synchrony Care Credit Card to pay for my pets eye surgery. My dog had one eye removed due to an accident. One year later Animal Eye Consultants did a procedure, crosslasing which cost me 4,000 with eye surgeon. One year later her sight got worse, running into things, not seeing clearly and same surgeon now said a corneal graph would improve her sight to where her sight should be removing a cataract n putting in a contact $6,000 surgery and my pet couldnt see in front of her n was running into things. 5 times of returning back to surgeon each time after n explaining how her sight is now worse then before her. Each time dr assured me she could see just fine benoist to me telling him she could not and now wouldnt go down porch steps and jumping up or down made her afraid because her site after graph became worse. Frustrated and angty not being heard i then filed a dispute claim for 5200.00 only for the graph surgery because i was assured after the graph she would have sight in that eye restored i filed a dispute claiming the surgery did more harm then good and the outcome was nothing like they assured me it would be. I thought that there would be an investigation n an impartial party would be investigating. Syncrony merely sent it to the eye surgeon and he said he performed it and everything went well and that was the end of the claim n i needed to pay. Isnt that a conflict of interest? Of course the surgeon is going to be bias...he did the surgery. I sent in paperwork stating i went back several times and complained my dog couldnt see yet Syncrony bank dismissed the claim. Im stating Syncrony should have had an impartial investigation n looked at all content submitted instead of asking the surgeon how he believed the surgery went. Of course hes not going to make himself look bad. Def Conflict of intrest and Syncronys claim was nothing more than a one sided dispute. I never had a chance to win this disputed claim. Im so angry the claim was dismissed over one surgeon, not a team of unbias members looking at the obvious content i filed. Ridiculous. Felt more like a witch hunt and i was the witch being burnt. Terrible customer service.Syncrony only wants paid.My story was thrown in the trssh along with all the obvious paperwork n complaints i had to dispute my claim. I was never heard so now im telling my story to someone who i hope...listens
Desired outcome: To take the graph surgery off my bill. Made my dogs eye worse. Had o known tjid would happen i would have never had the surgery. I was lied to by surgeon. Did more harm than good.
Get my $700 back and confirmation that the card has been paid in full.
Like everyone else, I too am having the same issues. This is a warning to all who reads this to not do business with them. We financed through SB and I had many frustrating issues setting up the account (login fails, convoluted website, phone tree maze, rude customer service). I set up automatic payment AND paid an extra month just to be safe. Well, two months later I get a notice that I’m late in paying. How is this possible that automatic payments are late you ask? Well SB canceled my autopay and never told me. Not only that but I have a $30 late few, an interest rate of 26% (I was told there wouldn’t be an interest rate for the first year) AND a hidden $160 monthly insurance fee that I was clueless about. All the extra money they charged me was over $650. When you contact customer service all they try to do is collect money and not fix their issues. They are a cesspool of bottom dwellers. I have taught customer service workshops before and know where business put their value. SB is all about profits over people.
My bill is due, and can't login to my account. They can't even answer a simple phone call without me getting disconnected. Scam! Scam! Scam! Not worth anyone's time to deal with this kind of service, and the company don't give a [censored].
Closing 2 perfect accounts randomly
It's so sad after reading many complaints that I'm not the only person Sychrony bank has randomly closed their accounts. We consumers are hit with hard pulls then you just randomly close our accounts should be a class action lawsuit. Perfect payment history then 2 random emails. Carecredit and Rooms to go both were randomly closed . Messed up my utilization on my credit.
Desired outcome: Compensation and credit restored.
Mattress Firm Credit Card
I am disgusted how Synchrony Bank balance chased us and eventually closed our account for Mattress Firm. We were paying it off on time every single month. They gave us a $1,000 credit line and we were paying every single month on time. Then we get a notice that our credit line was decreased. Fine, so we continue paying the credit card on time each month. We just got notice our account was closed by them. We still have a balance of $425. So our credit will take a hit with a closed account by creditor with a balance. I can understand if we were late on this account but we were not. Auto pay each month. The letter said after review of our account. Well if they reviewed the account they would have seen we were never late. How is this legal. Everytime our credit improves they seem to hit us with something. Synchrony bank balance chases and then closes accounts. How is one suppposed to prove credit worthiness if they continue playing this game.
Desired outcome: Open back my account so I don't get another ding on my credit for NO REASON. My mattress firm account was spotless!
Synchrony bank care credit
I have three different charge accounts with synchrony. I have been with them since 2012, two accounts, the third and newest, one year. I was notified by credit karma I had an account closed. Synchrony chose to close my account even though the account was paid in full one year ago when I purchased my first home. I found the email from two days prior notifiying me that they were closing the account due to a few different possible reasons. The reasons listed were debt to income ratio too high, too many high balances on revolving credit lines. I am a single mother who owns her own house painting company and has no insurance. This was the way I paid for my healthcare, my contacts and exam, my chiropractor appointments which keep me in good working condition, and was supposed to help me get my daughters braces on. When I called, the three different reps continued to tell me I had no choice, the company made a decision to protect themselves and that I could attempt to reapply in a year if I desired. I had a credit limit or $2600, which was reduced from $4500 in 2018. I have never made one late payment on any account I have. I have a lot of debt, but I have always found a way to make my payments. This is affecting me in several ways, not only am I losing the ability to take care of myself and my daughter, but reducing my credit that I am not utilizing.
Desired outcome: Have the account reinstated with a credit line of $4000, as was initially granted.
Credit Cards
I have numerous cards with them, all of which have no missed or late payments. They closed two of my accounts that had been paid in full and did not carry a balance. This hurt my credit score. I do not know when they closed these accounts as I was not notified. I just happened to pull up my account today and was unable to do so because it was closed. They should not be in business, they know fully well the closing of an account especially by the creditor does damage to the card holders.
Desired outcome: I want a letter stating my accounts with them were not ever delinquent and they closed my account without my knowledge and without any payment problems from me, sent to all 3 credit bureaus and myself.
Can a letter be sent? This just happened to me today too.
Refused refund for damaged merchandise
On February 11, 2022, I ordered two 36x36 frameless bathroom mirrors from LampsPlus.com. The mirrors were delivered on February 17th. The mirrors were shipped encased in form-fitting Styrofoam in separate boxes. Opening the first box revealed a shattered mirror. The second one held an intact mirror that had several deep scratches that went unnoticed at that time.
I contacted Lamps Plus immediately about the shattered mirror. I was told I would receive a replacement, that I did not need to return the mirror, and that I would receive an email from them with an address to send an image of the shattered mirror. I received that email and replied with all the information they requested.
By March 14th I had not received the replacement mirror and had heard no more from Lamps Plus. I sent them a third inquiry that day. Again, no reply. I had purchased the mirrors through Synchrony Bank with my Sam’s Club Mastercard. So, because I was being ignored by Lamps Plus I contacted them to dispute the transaction.
Synchrony Bank agreed with my position, initially, and credited my account with the $421.82 purchase price of the mirrors. Now it gets weird. On June 24th I received a message from Synchrony Bank stating that, based upon “new information”, they were reversing the previously issued credit. The “new information” supplied was a proof of delivery statement showing that FedEx had delivered the mirrors on February 17th. That’s not new information, that’s the date I phoned Lamps Plus to report the mirrors had been delivered in damaged condition. Non-delivery was never the issue.
On June 29th I sent a letter to Synchrony Bank. I told them; “before I take further action on this matter, please verify, in writing, with a signature of an actual human with some authority at Synchrony Bank, that you agree with Lamps Plus that delivery is all that matters, that the condition upon delivery is irrelevant.” The letter was sent Certified Mail with a Return Receipt, it was signed for by Rolando Gutierrez.
On July 13th I received a Voicemail to Text message from Synchrony Bank stating; “Hello this is a message from Synchrony Bank for Steven Nick nickel [sic] regarding your Sam’s Club Master Card account. We are calling to inform you that we received your correspondence. We appreciate your patience while we review your request and we’ll update you as soon as possible. We can be reached at [protected]. If you have any questions. Thank you. Goodbye.”
I responded with another letter to Synchrony Bank stating:
“It is important to understand that I did not make a request, I stated a requirement. Nothing short of the letter described, clearly stating your policy that receipt of damaged goods is not grounds for a refund, will suffice. Upon receipt of that letter I will pay the full amount of the purchase, $421.82. I will not pay any late fees or interest as the delay is solely your fault.
“Further communications on this matter other than that letter must be via an email that is monitored.”
That is where we stood as of 4 Jan 2023. My account balance was the sum of the $421.82 plus about six months of late fees and interest. Clearly, Synchrony Bank wanted to be paid, but nobody there was willing to put their name on the letter required to obtain payment.
When the poo hit the fan I froze my account. A few months ago Synchrony closed the account. I never received the required letter confirming their implicit position that the only situation that warranted a refund was non-delivery. Goods delivered in damaged condition must be paid for.
My recent statement, dated June 13th, was quite interesting. Seven entries on June 8th with the description RETURN OF LATE FEES, and eleven entries with the description *INTEREST CHARGE* PURCHASES REFUND. The total refund was $344.31, the amount of the previous month balance. But there was also an additional interest charge of $4.49. Interest on what? I had paid the full balance each month for years before the issue with the mirrors. A quick visit to my account online showed the status had been changed from closed back to frozen.
I won't be using this account or paying that $4.49 interest fee. The cards have been destroyed. I will do no business with Synchrony Bank or with Lamps Plus. I will also do no business with Sam's Club because the Sam's Club card is handled by Synchrony Bank.
Desired outcome: A complete explanation for the decisiona and actions taken on this matter by Synchrony Bank.
Care credit
I used care credit to cover the balance of my pet's emergency services. I just got hit with my first interest charge of $527 which is more than 50% of the remaining balance. I thought something was off, but no. A customer service representative, who was great, explained the fine print states that the interest will be on the purchase price once the promotional period ends. I was shocked as I am a great customer - I am diligent about making payments and pay more than the minimum payment almost every month.
Desired outcome: Reduce interest to reflect the balance rather than than the purchase price.
