First off this company is by far the worst company ever. I would rather deal with collections. I have two loans through this awful company. I sent both my payments at the same time and they received one and not the other makes sense right? It was around Christmas time and I don't check my account daily to see if it came out or not. Well they said they never got my loan payment for only one of my payments . I had to pay a late fee because they lost my check possibly. So then I decided that I would just pay the for and pay it online well not only do they charge you for the late fee but now you have a fee to process online. So I called to make the payment over the phone there is even a bigger fee to pay online. Needless to say this company loves money and that's all they care about!

paid account went to collections - why?
I paid off my store card to Citibank group - the balance should be Zero. In fact I over paid and Citibank sent me a refund. That was in Sept 2013. In December 2013 (yesterday) they sent me a letter saying they have sold my account to East Bay Holdings and that SST Financial is their agent.
Number 1 - this account should NEVER have gone to collections. It was paid in full. I have been calling Citibank trying to get a letter saying that its paid in full, but my account number is no longer recognized by their database!
I do NOT want SST or NCO to start calling me up several times a day to harass me about a debt that I have already paid in full!
Number 2 - I cannot find anything at all about East Bay Holdings - other than a possible small business out in San Francisco. Does anyone know anything about East Bay Holdings?
SST Financial have 2 locations - Montreal, Quebec and St Joseph, Missouri.
The Prudential Road address in Horsham, Pennsylvania (for NCO) has a large For Sale sign outside it. I went looking on Google maps - street view - and the image was dated Sept 2013.
I have also had a similar experience with SST, on behalf of East Bay Holdings LLC, whoever they are? My Citibank credit card has been paid in full, with confirmation, but now SST is making harassing/ abusive/ threatening phone calls and letters, trying to collect a fictitious debt of $16, 000.00 from me, on behalf of East Bay Holdings. I have never had contact of any kind with this company.
Citibank refuses to help in any way, yet it was Citibank who chose to sell my account balance to a corrupt and probably fraudulent, company, such as this. The police, in my city, have been alerted to this scam.

In response to the comment made by CIAL01 on January 2, 2014, please note that the parties listed in that comment, namely, the Wisconsin limited liability company East Bay Holdings LLC, Marian, John and William Nasgovitz, and Heartland Advisors, are NOT involved in the purchase of consumer debt from Citicard or elsewhere.
Either a different entity named East Bay Holdings LLC that is completely unrelated to the persons listed above is the owner of the consumer debt, or SST or another party has mistakenly reported that East Bay Holdings LLC has some involvement with the purchase of consumer debt.
Again, none of the persons and entities listed in CIAL01’s comment on January 2, 2014 have any involvement with the purchase of any consumer debt, including the Citibank group store card referenced in the original complaint.
Your account has been sold by Citi to this company - East Bay Holdings, LLC. They have, in turn, contracted SST to take over management of your account. I am having the same issue you described and trying to find good information on this holding company is just about impossible.. The best suggestion I can make is to contact SST, let them know your account is paid in full and they may be able to confirm for you. It is not that it has been turned over for collection of a delinquent or charged off account in the traditional sense. SST is the subsidiary of NCO that manages performing/current accounts and you may just be dealing with a timing issue where the transfer of account happened before the records were updated by the seller and it only appears you have a balance outstanding.
It appears the principals of East Bay Holdings, LLC is a family in the Wisconsin area. John and Will Nasgovitz are senior people at a company called Heartland Advisors - an investment fund - likely the buyers of the accounts Citi sold. They have set-up the Holding Company with Marian Nasgovitz as the principal and if you are interested her phone number Is 414.964.6512. They have also set-up a Verizon mobile number in California (location of holding company) and that number is 510.725.5917 and there is another number in Montana for John Nasgovitz who is listed as a principal of East West Bay Holdings, LLC and his number is 406.542.8221.
Don't give SST or NCO one bit of information. Send them BOTH a letter asking THEM to validate what they claim. You have that right under federal law. Ask them BOTH for two pieces of information 1. Proof that that the debt is real, and 2. Proof that EITHER one of them have the legal right to demand a penny from you. Most collectors cab prove either. Especially #2. Each charge card transition is a separate 'contract', and isn't transferable. Do NOT sigh the letters, simply type your name at the bottom of each. (Signatures have a way of appear on faked documents). Send the letters certified mail with return receipt requested. If tf they continue to harass you, go to www.naca.net to find a consumer attorney in your area. They specialize in dealing debt collectors and know all their dirty tricks. Most have a free consultation and, if they sue the collector and win, the debt collector must pay tour attorney fees on top of paying you for using illegal debt collection tactics.

It is so difficult to reach someone with this company. You have to search online for a number because the number that was on my statement was disconnected. When I called to pay off my balance the automated system told me that "there may or may not be a fee charge, " but doesn't say what that fee may be. I never received bank statements for my payments. I sent a message on their website for someone to contact me via phone, but they just sent an e-mail. When I responded to the e-mail and asked again for someone to call me it took 8 days ((yet they said we'll contact you and your convenience)). I unfortunately got my loan transferred to this bank by M&I (now HMO) but I recommend that if you have a choice do not pick this bank!

Had a card with Washington Mutural and it was sold to SST Bank. Since then They have been raising my interest rate for no reason. We agreed to 42 dollars a month. Now it is 66 Dollars and I sometimes get a statement and sometimes do not.

Sst financial calls me on average 8 times a day at home and about 5 times a day at work, even after i have spoke to someone at their comapany. I want a statement mailed to me so i can see how much i have paid and how much is owing, and they refuse.

trying to deposit photocopies of post dated cheques after account has been paid in full & cheques returned
Loan account paid in full before term in Sept, 2012. Requested 3 post-dated cheques to be returned. They were not! Oct 4, cheque deposited and payment taken out of my bank account. Phone call-talked to 3 different people. They returned the full amount to me along with the 2 remaining post-dated cheques. November 15- a photocopy of November cheque was tried to be deposited with the excuse that the original was lost. Bank notified me& put a stop payment on it. Phone call to SST-3 people later and finally a supervisor- will check it out. I faxed the copy from the bank with explanation. Every person I talked to had me on hold for a long time. In total I was on the phone for 45 minutes as each person reviewed my file. I was told they would look into it. I have heard nothing!. December 12, 2012, A photocopy of the December post-dated cheque was tried to be deposited! Again, stop payment & long phone calls to SST. Finally talked to an Escalations supervisor-Will look into it. My bank even phoned them. With all the other complaints about this company-how can they still be in business? This is pure fraud!

wells fargo i have been contacting them for about a year with my new address and to send my stements and every month or so i contact them asking where it is...
and the last one a couple weeks ago ...i mention since i havent received a stement in about a year..then my loan is paid in full

to finally get a letter this week.from wellsfargo that sst financial took over loan back in march 1st 2012 and still have not received any statement or letter with new account info or balance etc...and continued to paid wells fargo this whole time...so they gave my payments to sst? therefore, i am paid in full...poor service and i stuggling and paying every month...

Clarify your question properly. I hope you have kept all the proofs of payment. You need to add up your payments and figure out if the loan is actually paid off. if so you need to obtain a "paid in full" note from wells. once sst contacts you send them that by CMRRR with a cease and desist letter.
Go to debtorboards.com and post your question those guys are very good with this kind of scammers.

failure to provide account information
I had a loan with wells fargo that was sold to dbgs anthem lp and sst financial is supposed to be collecting payments for them. The loan transferred from wells fargo in march 1 2012, since I have called sst three times trying to get someone to give me an account number so I can continue to make my payments and not have my credit affected any further. My last time contacting sst I was told my account is closed and being sent to collections after they have failed to provide me with the information I need to continue my payments. Also with wells fargo I had made a deal to pay off my balance and clear my account with them which sst say they have no record of and cannot honor any deals made to me by wells fargo. This company has screwed me over and are causing my credit to take more of a negative hit. Does anyone know if there is some legal action that can be taken against this company? SST is not a collection agency, they are a servicing company. Almost one of a kind, as they do collecting when needed, though provide customer service the rest of the time.
A Collection agency would not care about helping you avoid a bad credit score, SST tries to help you avoid by calling you to collect money before the 30 day limit. I remember one agent telling me "sir, I want to take your payment today as you're close to 30 days past due, and I want to avoid you having a 30 days miss on your credit report". if that's not helpful, I don't know what is.
They also provided customer service when I called them in, such as giving me my balance (sounds granted but keep in mind most collection agencies just call you, they don't recieve calls). When I asked for a due date change, as my pay schedules didn't matcht the due date, they did that for me, as they knew it would save my life. (because folks, our credit IS our life, in our capitalist nation).
Of course, if you haven't payed for 2-3 months, being close to a charge-off, they'll put more pressure on you, telling you the consequences of not paying (such as R-9 on your Credit Report and/or Repossession of your Vehicle). @Dale Sunley: It's not a "threat", it's FACT!
@fedup2014 and others: If you end up having a higher balance or payoff amount than expected, it cannot be their fault. SST is bound by the FDCPA (Fair Dept Collectors Practive Act) and other Federal and State laws that FORBID them to make ANY changes to your contract, such as collecting "more money than you owe them". They are forbidden to change your interest rate or take a PENNY more than what stipulates on the contract. And the contact doesnt say "youll pay X amount in exactly Y years, to the penny." Interest, and alot of other variables can change the end date, and payoff amount.
I would ask them to print out a transaction history of your payments, and I'm sure you'll find that the 'extra money" is just fees and interest because of late payments. Who here can say that they ALWAYS pay BEFORE their due date, for 2, 3, sometimes 15 years? It all adds up in the end. I thought the same thing before they showed me the facts by sending me my transaction history, where I saw some late payments. It all adds up in the end folks.
And of course, keep in mind that if one agent doesn't do his job, it doesn;t mean the whole company doesn't. Submit a complaint and they'll nail that agent themselves.
Anyways, I realize alot of us have felt screwed with companies, but I really recommend you conduct research, with valid proof before you file a lawsuit. Because believe me, companies like this... they protect themselves. and EVERYTHING is recorded and kept somewhere in case someone, or a group such as yourselves, try to take action. Ask them for transaction history, ask them for proof. Speak to a Supervisor. It might take a few days, but they'll provide you all the proof you need.
Sources: I have a friend who works for SST. He's the one that told me about FDCPA. I myself have a loan being serviced by them, and have accused them of some of the same things you guys are, and they provided me with proof and evidence backing up the fees and higher amount I had to pay at the end of my loan. Essentially, I was "put in my place".
This institution/collection agency is nothing but money shark; they will do everything in their power to ensure they collect money which you dont owe them; they will find every problem in the book to prove that you still owe them; Im sorry but I need to take this one to the Media, enough is enough. I have had similar problems with them, they keep sending me a letter stating I owe and am late on my payment when there is no payment to be made. They will not say what its even for. I do not even have outside of a satellite and cell phone payment that come out automaticly from my account. This outfit needs to be taken to court. they keep threatening it will wreck my credit rating.
My loan was also always paid on time with Wells Fargo and I was hurt and unable to work. The insurance on the loan was paying it

My husband and I had a loan with Wells Fargo along time ago and we have paid it of but now we just found out that it on are credit rating saying that we were always late on payment. So now we can't even get a loan cause of it. So I have been trying now for at least four month to get a hold of someone but all u get is a computer saying leave name and number and someone will get back to u in 2 to 4 business days. We had this loan payoff before it was sold to SST F.
I write this after having read the number of comments existing here: What is happening with the class action law suit mentioned in jaylaw's post of March 24, 2014? We are both chronically ill pensioners who get awoken every morning at 7a with their computer calls; when they first took over our account they sent me a letter advising this and called me 3 times before the due date to remind me I needed to pay. I have told them repeatedly that we can not pay on the due date; we acknowledge we owe this money - we are on a fixed income and pay when pension cheques arrive. You can not pay their bill at a bank you must give them access to your account via direct debit - not ever going to do that. They also informed me that I could make a double payment and the would never call me again. We did - they start calling a week before the payment is due, sometimes up to 5 times a day - I just keep repeating myself over and over - we are not delinquent, and in any event the law gives a number of days grace - I could understand this if our payment was large and we missed several - but come on for $26.25 a month they wake me every morning for the entire week before the payment is even due. And the interest rate is obnoxious 28.80%.
These people have collected over 450% interest from me on a $5000.00 loan I took out in 2008. This I'm sure is Illegal.

I have had the displeasure of working with this company and they are horrendous. I attempted to payoff the balance of my loan using their telephone payment method. Got everything setup and the payment was due to flow in 2 days. Get a call that night at home from a company rep that tells me to put a stop payment on my regular monthly amount that was due the day after my final payment. I do this- my expense of 12.50. Idiots do not process the final payment and the regular payment is refused by my bank as I requested. They charge me an NSF fee. I pay off the whole thing because the sooner you get rid of these ###s the better. To put icing on the cake, the agent that told me to put the stop pay on the acc't is not with the company a week later!
I had sent their 'Escalation Dept' a letter explaining my issue but you can bet I will hear nothing from them.

I opened a $20, 000+ loan with sst in july of 2005 and have always made my payments on time. When the economy went bad a few years ago I started to struggle to make payments, but always kept the account under 30 days past due, and always answered the phone when they called and talked to them. I have maintained a current account for the last year and a half, and owe less than $3000 on my remaining loan currently. This month my payment was literally four days past the due date because I was waiting for the bank to clear a check, and they put my account into collections and started calling a work number I never gave them, nor did I give them permission to call every 20-40 minutes. I immediately called them and told them they could not call that number or I would lose my job, and they needed to delete it immediately, and also inquired as to why they were calling me at four days late anyways. The agent was snotty and disrespectful and informed me they would not delete the number, but instead put a note not to call it that could take up to 48 hours to go into effect, and that they could call collections anytime after the day the payment is due. I am disgusted with this company knowing I have made my payments faithfully all these years only to be treated this way for the last few months of payments. I will never do business with them again. Ever.

I hated them as well. They would call me starting on like the second day after my payment was due. I knew I had a 10 day grace period before they could start charging interest but they insisted they did not have a grace period. Also my last months payments should have been only about 120.00 but somehow they managed to make it a full months payment. I would never finance through this company again. They do nothing but harass you.
If I ever get another car loan it will not be with SST. I made all my payments within the month. I was never 30 days late. Starting on the 10th day of the month the collection calls were relentless. Every day all day. I explained to them that I could not make my payment until later in the month. Nothing I told them stopped the calls. I finally made my last payment. I have SST out of my life for good!

This company should be put out of buisness immediatly and I agree with a class action lawsuit. I pay my rv loan on time I have bank receipts proving the payments but they always say I am 30 days overdue. They cant seem to figure out how to read a calander and they have fuzzy math. My loan was bought out by this # company from bank one. I had no issues with bank one until this un fit company bought out the loans. Its been hell like everyone else is stating and they do call neighbors, work, parents sisters brothers cousins whatever. They dont care and they are poorly trained and extremely rude and very un professional. If anyone knows someone who has a legal action and wants me to sign on I am all for it. yrs now I have been with SST. I have breast cancer and this was the most outrageous time of my life. I have called, email and written letters many times to this company regarding my account as far as working with me on the principle. Or anything for that matter. There is no lean ency from this company. I know I have read many complaints. Now, it has come to this in me getting a loan from my bank that I trust so that I can be done with this outrageous unsympathetic company. This is way to long to be paying for a loan. Regardless if am a couple of days late which I highly try to avoid. With a disability check and two young mouths to feed during surgery, chemo and radiation is no wonder so many are getting sick. Not only that the Web Site is unreal! You have to pay $4.95 on the web oh and YES if you pay by phone you have to pay a fee. If you are one day late you pay a fee ...fee's fee's fee's! This is ludicrous. My credit has been extremely excellent considering what I have to go through. I even tried to email the CEO or VICE PRESIDENT TO NO AVAIL. My BIGGEST complaint is I went to web site to see what the pay off was and guess what...THEY TOOK ALL MY MONEY! I was livid to say the least how am I to live now! Our loan is serviced through SST, Inc. from Medallion Bank.Yes, we had a bankruptcy in 2009. Our loan is on a camp trailer, which in the past we are allowed to deduct the interest on the loan because this can be considered a second home. This company gouges people trying to rebuild their credit by charging outrageous amounts of interest! This company will not send out any documents for taxes. You cannot get any information on the website for your loan. I am in Utah, and apparently this company is the ### of all companies. Next complaint will be with the IRS and whoever else is responsible to regulate this company.

My account was sold to them without my knowledge. My bill is higher than the other company. It seems redcious that they can just sell a card to someone else without your permission. I had credit with the old company then when SST took my account te credit was canceled. I was paying my bills? SST said they would not give me a card but wants my bill paid. This is so stupid.
The SST company doesn't want to do anything to make it easier.

i had a card with a company that was taken over by SST. they miss the payments by not cashing the check on time but i get the blame. we always pay 2 weeks early incase the mail is late. now they are calling 5 or 6 times a day 7 days a week. you can't talk to a human or if you do they claim you must pay the whole bill ASAP & are rude.

This brings us to another point when you pay them by mail Certified return receipt they sign the receipt and act like they still do not get paid writing letters we keep sending them photocopy of money orders showing we paid them.

I have tried to pay my First Equity credit card bill online and was informed that First Equity is no longer handling my account. It's been sold, I guess, to an outfit called SST (Systems & Services Technologies). I tried going to their website to sign up, but was unable to do so. (Told my account number was incorrect.) The message on the First Equity line says go to www.deetocard.com to pay but the site that takes you to looks like some kind of search results, not a credit card service site. In researching this situation online (since I can't call the customer service number on a weekend) I've seen numerous complaints about what appear to be a scam operation: they make it almost impossible to pay your bill online or on time, then charge exorbitant service charges, etc. Worse, a lot of people claim to have made payments that SST says were never made. Most of these complaints appear to be two or three years old. Has anyone else had more recent trouble with this outfit? I wasn't informed about this until I went to try to pay my bill and then I had to do all the detective work to find out where to go, who to contact. The whole thing smells fishy to me.

AGREED... I also had a first eq account.. they got so stupid with their finance charges i stopped using it. Was good for a while with lowering my interest and bam i was over the deadline on my online payment and they jacked up my interest rate so I stopped paying it. Since then I have called this number to try and resolve something or get lower interests to pay it off and they say only for 6 months then it is sky rocket again. This was a business credit card for me so it is a high balance . I refuse to pay it until they come up with some better plans for us to use and a way to pay.

I have dealt with some many companies concerning my car loan... First it was Centrix.. then Peak 5.. and then some one else and for some reason now SST has it. I spoke with them on 2/16/10. They gave me a complete pay off amount and I wire them the amount told with in the hour of talking with them.. Gave them address to send my title and on payment I wrote paid in full and they accepted it. Now 8 days later they are coming back and stating that they have applied more charges since pay off. They are hateful when you call in. They will not give you a break of what charges that have been applied to it.. They just want to rip people off.. Beware and have no dealings with them. They will ruin you!

I have been through all 3 companies as well. I agree they do not try and help, and when i talked with them last the woman kept giving me different information. I am not sure if she is just untrained, or just plain lying to me. I have also had problem with what I actually owe them. Thank goodness I only have 3 payments left. After reading your comments I am now afraid of what they will say when it is paid off.

I'm another customer sold to SST. After paying and closing my account somehow another account was open under my name. Now my credit report shows 2 accounts under SST one being closed and the other a past due amount. Please Obama do something! It seems to be ok that white collar theft is Legal!

I cannot believe I finally found this website I have been at war with these dirt bags for 6 months. I had an 813 Fico score and they have single handedly destroyed it without cause. After trying to get in touch with them for 3 months I finally talked to 7 supervisors and worked out a deal for something that they screwed up regarding my auto draft. I have to fax a paper? WHAT? I might as well send a check via carrier pigeon! I gave them all the money they asked for. I was never late on a single payment for 4 years. They have yet to fulfill their end of the deal because my credit is still ruined. How can a single piece of [censored] company have all this power and no checks and balances. They make threatening phone calls even though the account is in good standing. I am now having trouble getting a place to live and I have a baby on the way and when you start messing with my family’s well being I get very upset. Please if anyone knows a physical address, post it ASAP. My friend and I would like to pay them a friendly visit to straighten things out. It will not be as easy to put me on hold for 34 minutes.

auto loan
This company is ###. I have made my payments on time for 5 years. During the beginning of my loan I added a little extra to be applied to principal so that my final payment would be less and I would have credit towards the interest due on the account. I get to the very last payment and surprise the last payment is the exact amount of the regular payment. No credit for any of the extra I sent in at the begining of the loan.
I wrote to them wanting them to fix. never heard back from them. Now I am being charged fees up my wazzoo late charges and misc. no explain charge of $55.00 in each statement. I am now being into the second month after the loan should be paid off and now owe according to them almost $100.00 more then the original last payment. I cannot get this account paid off. And I am not just going to send them the money just becuase they are billing me for it.
I am furious. after 5 years of never missing a payment they are now reporting me as over 60 days late on my credit report . all for the last payment on the car is that is not owed.
These people are theives.

I had the same problem I bought a 2013 horse trailer and the refused payments they are sending them back to my bank and when I do make a payment they would call me and harrass me about payments and then they took my trailer and tell me I'm five months behind and its going coast me 2500.00 bucks to get it back but I think they will screw me again I'm so tired of not getting anywere with them . I told them if the send back one more payment I was ggetting a lawyer involved because I think there scamming people
I've been with them financing a motorcycle loan and my experience has been very good, except for the very first month they began handling our loan (during the transition from the previous financing company that sold their loans to SST that we had been with originally). The old company didn't transfer the records completely and our motorcycle was almost repossessed; the tow truck was outside our door and everything. I do think they were just working off the records they had on file from prior company. Aside from that incident, they are very courteous, helpful and easy to work with. My account has gotten behind from time to time, and they've showed understanding and professionalism throughout. They have been great in working out manageable payment terms to get back on track. Good luck to those of you that aren't having the same experience.
Worst company ever! What they do should NOT be legal. I've seriously never hated a company worst than this one. They're straight up crooks. I'm trying to get away from them!
Today I called to request for a statement where it says we were behind a couple of months and the employee on the other end starts getting feisty. She tries to argue with me about my loan and states she has already spoken with my spouse about it so that was that. Then I ask for her supervisor and when she gets on she is already defensive. She just states our bill needs to be current by the end of the month. I do not see how this company is still in business if the there are complaints listed back to 2009. How is it possible that they end up with our account when we were approved thru another bank. Something needs to be done about this company.
Has anyone checked to see if what there doing is legal, Didn't congress pass some kind of law to protect the consumer?
This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. 15 year RV loan, beginning in 1998, check always sent on time to allow for clearance. If they don't have the payment on the exact date it is due, they start calling you and harassing. When my husband died, I called them and asked for a 2 week extension, they denied me, we had been paying on the loan for 10 years. Then the next week my dad died unexpectedly, I sent a payment in on time, but I made the check out for the wrong amount (too much stress), they started calling, sent me 5 letters in one day, my check was short less than $30.00, yet they demanded that I pay them the entire regular payment..Huh? The women I spoke to said "That's how our system works..Tough".
The customer service people are rude, one screamed at me that "If I paid my bills on time, this wouldn't happen" and then proceeded to hangup on me. I have never rec'd a late fee, I cannot control the mail, I allow 5-7 days for delivery, I honestly think that the payments are not processed promptly. I sent my December payment in on Dec. 23, it was due on the 28th, they called me at 8:30am today, I asked why they were calling, the women on the other end, said
"I don't know why, I am new, maybe your payment is late". I have 3 more payments, I am going to pay off the entire balance next month, I cannot stand these people, how they get away with this is beyond me.
OVER IT! We've been paying on an rv for 7 years! A 10 year loan! I am sure I've paid that 13, 000 off by now, but with their daily interest and 19.95% APR. We can't get ahead. IF, you don't have the payment there before the due date they call you. I pay by internet and am charged 4.95 each time I pay my bill. I know they have it rigged that you can't get paid off. It has all the feelings of a Loan Sharks! I had made a call sever months back to the company and the person who ans. the phone ans. in a different language! When I said I wanted someone who speaks English, she put a man on who spoke a strong broken English. But, at least, we were able to communicate, (somewhat). Because of our determination over the passed 12 months, we are close to our goal of paying them off. I am concerned tho that they will come back with some scheme to keep us from getting clear title to our 2005 RV, which by the way, is in prestine condition. Just a few months ago, we thought about trading it off and was told we owe more than it's worth! WHAT? Plus, SST gave them a bad report on us! That's it, ASAP we are getting out from under them. God Bless all of you who are under their control! Oh, and by the way, I've been out of work for the passed year! Go figure!
I agree with all the negative comments I have read here. The same thing has happened to me, in 2007 I purchased a camper and my loan was sold to sst. In 2008 I refinanced my home and with some extra money decided to consolidate my bills and my bank requested a payoff to sst, and then sent them a check for it. So for the last 3 years i have thought my camper was paid off, Well little did i know i recived a notice of repo in the mail the other day. When i called to say there must of been a mistake, first i was met with some very rude people and was told that my $18, 000 check to them was posted as a payment not pay off. Well needless to say after a few calls with the same results. I am in contact with my lawyer. I will probably end up paying what they say i owe but it just feels like i am being bullied. So for anyone that reads this please be weary of sst and keep all of your records up to date and stay on top of them.
I have had the same experience, my loan was sold to SST and they are trying to charge me a late fee when I had paid the loan within the grace period. I called and they wont resolve it saying it was late. I am so furious and will be paying this off soon! They did tell me the same thing about reporting me negative to the credit bureau.
I had and still have the same experience with this company. My payments are drafted out of my account but I received a letter stating I was behind due to late payments every month and charged the equivalent of one payment. I will be glad to have this loan paid off and done with.

Providian sold my account to SST. They keep calling my work and the card isn't even in my name. It's in my husband's.
This company is pretty bad, I would not recommend it to anyone. I tried to pay off the loan early and they made me sit through 5 minutes of some policy I had to listen to. I just wanted to pay off the loan. The lady who was helping me told me I had to listen or should would not give me final balance. It was the rudest experience I had. I hung the phone up on her and called someone else and got the balance then paid it off. 3 weeks letter I got a form letter from the company stating that they were going to report me as a bad credit.. I never missed a payment and paid the loan off early...Go figure!
