Thieves and thugs stealing money - class action lawsuit anyone?
Tax Rise literally ruined my life - after agreeing to a simple $500 investigation fee, they months later authorized multiple payments up to $3000 with no email or phone contact. I had a 2 hour conversation where I explicitly told them not to make any charges until we had time to speak. Don’t waste time with these scammers - they’ll give you all the attention until they’re stealing your money. I couldn’t even pay my bills this month because of Taxrise fraudulent charges - the bank had to block them from taking any more money. On top of this - they tried to convince me and fear monger me into using their tax services and told me literal lies to my face, which I recorded with my normal tax guy on the phone. Ive got plenty These guys are crooks… don’t do it
Recommendation: Don’t ever give them your account information or sign anything or believe anything they say
If I could leave a negative star I'd leave -10
If I could leave a negative star I'd leave -10. This is the absolute worse tax company ever! The sorry behind tax clerks or ppl like are incompetent and liars. I changed my mind stating I wasn't going to go with them bcuz I didn't need their svcs and that s.o.b. convince me after signing a loan of 3k I should. 2 weeks later the b*** calls me to tell me the same amount I told him the *** was claiming I owed stood the same. So in 2 weeks time ur investigation was complete and now I owe a bill for 3k I told you I didn't think I needed. I asked to speak to a supervisor *** and very disappointed in his so eager to get me to open a loan after I just settled my credit accounts. That supervisor led me to another n they too did not respond or reach out to me. I had to contact then. They assured me they would handle my case and lied too. Another person stated she would be different and she too lied as well. This *** company has swindled with United Consumer almost 2,300k out of me and still want $1248 with interest and guess what they not getting [censored]! I will never buy a house and I will willfully declare a big FU to them for they are nothing but the devil and thee worse tax company to solve any *** issues with. DO NOT HIRE THEM THEY ARE LIARS! This will not be the end of it. On my dead mom I'm educating myself in tax law and I will fight them to the end until my last breathe on this earth. Taxrise *** and all the people that work for this horrible company *** too. I am a 47 yr old whom worked as a correctional officer for almost 20 yrs.

TaxRise, I initially requested help from you all
TaxRise, I initially requested help from you all. I complete an 843 Form and a hardship letter to the *** myself and got the desired results. The *** has responded with and update that I have approved for forgiveness on the penalties and interest for my 2012 tax year. The $7000 I've paid you all i would like a refund because you all did nothing on my behalf in my case. Please cancel my service immediately with you all. No accurate updates or new information was or has been provided...I have resolved my own case. I have received my final responses from the *** that interest and penalties will be forgiven by the ***, they will update me in the 90 days detailing how much will actually be forgiven, ive already explained this to a recent representative. I have paid the majority of the bill off, there is nothing else to be resolved. The information you are currently providing as new information is a lie and incorrect. Your company is a SCAM. You stole my money and did nothing to help me. I have the most recent letter dated 31 Oct 22 from the *** directly stating penalties for 2012 will be forgiven, this was a response to the hardship letter I wrote and the 843 form i completed myself. They don't return phone calls. They talk to you rough with frustration, they dont like calls for updates, they refuse calls for questions. I stated previously please close my account and refund for my money now they are sending appt emails. I just want my money back that I could have put toward my actual debt. Hiring these people just added more debt I didn't need because they were no help. Save your money please listen to me a SCAM

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU DONT CARE ABOUT GIVING AWAY MONEY! TAX RISE IS THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS. HOW CAN YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF WHEN YOUR SCAMMING HARD WORKING PEOPLE OUT OF HARD EARNED MONEY. I have spent almost $6,300 with *** and I barely talk to my rep from Tax Rise. Every time I call I speak to someone, I get new rep and its like they take so long to email back or call back. I have sent all documents and things on a timely manner and still nothing has been done. Please beware of this company because I feel like I could have taking a better route
I received excellent service from the customer service representative. She really made me feel like I was top priority. She answered my question in a timely manner. The thing that I really appreciated is when I asked how much I owed for Taxes instead of giving me the run around such as 'you need to contact your representative', she placed me on hold to get an answer. Please give her a raise; we need excellent customer service representatives like her!
No complaints on my end does a good job there
Waited on hold for over 10 minutes. Asked to speak with my rep, after another hold the person I was speaking with advised my rep was unavailable. Scheduled a call back for two days later. My rep has not responded to multiple email requests for documents. I have to get these documents to my attorney and I'm running out of time and patience.
I paid this company at the beginning, unaware that the employee advocate was
I paid this company at the outset, unaware that the employee advocate was overcharging us for a debt cancellation from a mortgage account, which is illegal. They can only collect federal debts like alimony, child support, student loans, back taxes, but not personal collection accounts. It's not ours. I checked with Complaintsboard.com and found this company had complaints and was shut down for its operations. My last mortgage was settled in South Euclid courts, and another in bankruptcy. I've been renting since 2009, previously living with family or in hotels, sometimes homeless. They knew about my special needs and my IV treatments at the Cancer Center. They've taken three years of our taxes, threatening to take nonexistent property and put liens on everything. We never break even on our returns, so we never get paid down or off. They promised to fix this and handle our case, but I keep being told I owe for a mortgage, which is impossible since I didn't own a house. I would not have been homeless otherwise. I also filed four identity theft forms, which this company ignored. Proper investigation would have solved my case. I've been on the phone all day; they claim they never spoke to anyone on my behalf and my case was closed a year ago. This company took my money under false pretenses. Their customer service is unresponsive, and my case remains unresolved.

This is a horrible company please do not use them they take your money and do nothing
was very helpful with obtaining updates about my case.
was very helpful in answering all my questions. He let me know what was still needed from me and how to get it to them. He also reminded me of my upcoming appointment and put my mind at ease about the documents I received. Hopefully, everything else goes as smoothly as my conversation went.
was very helpful today! She answered All my questions that I have been trying to get answers too for the last year! Hopefully Now I get the Resolution I have been waiting for for the last Two years!
I have been ripped off by tax rise
I have been ripped off by tax rise. I let Mr. Fulton talk me into allowing my wife to get a 9000.00 loan. I was thinking the loan would be dispersed to us to pay tax rise for helping us with our taxes owed and it was dispersed to tax rise. They got 9000.00 up front and I could not get it reversed so I had to go alone with their scheme. Two years later and I am left hanging to dry. Several months ago Deyvi Vargas informed me that they could not help with my state taxes and now my wifes check is being garnished. The IRS rejected my OIC a week ago and now tax rise has informed me of my choices, to cancel my OIC or file an appeal base on the IRS decision by the 29th of this month. I have two years left on the 9000.00 loan at 331.00 a month with a balance of 4300.00. I am paying between 500.00 to 600.00 a month on the garnishment of my wifes check and tax rise has informed me that I have the option of paying over 500.00 a month on my federal taxes if close my OIC. I informed them that if they pay my 4300.00 balance of the loan they got upfront I would just make the more than 500.00 a month payment to the IRS. They claimed to have done 9000.00 worth of work and has not done anything for me at all. What big lie! I feel they have stole from me and could care less. I am self employed and will have to work 14 to 16 hours a day if I can get the work to survive. I am sure there response will be a great cover-up, but what can you do about corporate lies. I wish I could give less then one star even though I know it would not matter and other people will still be hurt or destroyed by this company. They are always exploring they ways to get out a situation, so be careful. SO STRESSED AND HAVE BEEN SO UPSET. I WILL PRAY FOR FORGIVNESS AND TRY TO MOVE FORWARD!

I couldn't be happier and more relieved! I really hope she is recognized for her hard work, dedication and diligence!

I have been dealing with a tax increase for 4 years until today when I learned I owe $50,000.
I have been dealing with a tax increase for 4 years until today when I learned I owe $50,000. This is the most incompetent handling I've seen from a company responsible for someone's financial future. Four years and four different case managers later, I was patient, thinking they'd help. I paid over $5,000 for this service, and they didn't reduce my taxes. They never requested more information after the initial submission, and my taxes accumulated. I could've paid the taxes directly, avoiding this outcome. What was the $5,000 for if I kept getting letters about owing taxes, but was told to ignore them? Now I face back taxes and penalties. I'm livid and fearful for my family's well-being. With a newborn and a new home, they never checked if my finances changed. How did they conclude this? Two months ago, I asked them to expedite my case, and today they said this is what the authorities determined, which I doubt. Where are the litigations, tax breaks, or reliefs? Earning $80,000 a year, how can I pay $50,000? I need help and don't know where to turn. I thought things would improve, but they're worse. Tax Rise has let me and my family down.

Tax Rise was unhelpful in my tax situation and dropped the final resolution big time with the *** suspending my passport and threatening liens
Tax Rise was unhelpful in my tax situation and dropped the final resolution big time with the *** suspending my passport and threatening liens on my house and nothing being reduced in my tax liability. When negotiating they offered $500 to resolve $80000 in tax liability. I instructed them to offer at least $20000 which they didn't, keeping to the $500 figure which the *** refused. When I paid off the bulk of the tax debt through refinancing my house they were still unable to negotiate a reduction. The amount I owe now is from penalties and interest accrued during the time they spent supposedly negotiating for me. They eventually settled for a non prosecution agreement but no reduction in taxes. I now have liens on my house and my passport is again suspended. Their contact person, *** Saatchi was very pleasant but obviously not in touch with the negotiators. When she finally delivered the settlement, which was their non prosecution agreement I was still being pursued by the *** with threats of liens on my house. When I sent in these letters to *** she did some investigation and found out there was no record of a settlement. It seems the *** agent forgot to file the settlement and Tax Rise hadn't followed up on it. *** now assures me that the settlement will be filed but 2 weeks later I still haven't received a letter from *** regarding the settlement. There is still a lien on my house and I still haven't recovered my passport. I will need to retain another attorney to negotiate with the *** for my passport says Tax Rise Rep *** Saatchi. What did they do for the $12000 I paid them? A big song and dance routine but very little help. I would suggest negotiating directly with the *** if I had to do it all over again. The stress of dealing with amount of bad advice from them was immense. I believe I'm owed a refund for their non-service.

I contacted Tax Rise last year to see if I would be a candidate for lowering the tax amount the IRS states that I owed from unclaimed income in 2017. I had taken out a 401 k loan in January and lost my job of 27 years in the same month, January . I defaulted on the loan since it was 401k money and eventually the loan became income. I have a much lower income now and I contacted Tax Rise to see if I qualified for having the tax debt reduced. They took my information and supposedly used some type of program they stated that the IRS uses and came back and said that I should qualify to have it reduced to maximum $500 and they could make this happen when it was all said and done for around $3000 and since of course I didn't have $3000 dollars, as it happens that I was in luck and they have a company that I could finance this through. Although apprehensive and also stating that I under no circumstances wanted to have the entire tax debt and debt from paying them as this would be the worst circumstances for me to be in but they assured me they negotiate with the IRS all the time and my case should not be an issue. This week after receiving a letter from the IRS who was pleased to announce my payment arrangement for my entire tax debt. So I called Tax Rise and left a couple of messages with no response so I emailed the original sales person along with my case manager that I had received a letter scheduling payments of the entire tax debt and could they let me know what was going on and I received a phone call in about an hour after that telling me that they had arranged this payment plan with the IRS (I could have done that myself) as if I should be pleased that I now have my entire tax debt and the additional approximatly 3000 dollars and all the "new case manager" would say is they had arranged my payment plan as if I am not aware I could have done that myself for free

I give this company no stars
I give this company no stars. If I could subtract stars, I would. They don't answer the phone when you call. They don't return calls. But they will call when you don't pay, which we've done purposely on several occasions. They string you along, telling you whatever they need to in order to continue to get you to pay. You can be hollering and they will remain calm and peaceful. Don't buy into it. They don't care about you hollering as long as you continue to make payments. Almost two years and nothing has been done. We're in the same position we were in when we started. It doesn't take this long to get an agreement with the *** We dealt with the *** years ago and made an agreement in less than a month, free of charge. So why did we deal with these snakes again? We're going to the *** again and deal with them directly. I suggest anyone else do the same. If you don't, you will find yourself in the same position as we are in. I recently read some of the reviews and I cringe at some of them. I know some, if not all of the positive reviews were written by themselves. Other reviews talk about how helpful they are. They are helpful in the beginning but wait until maybe a year and you see no results you will quickly change your tune. I guarantee the 3.76/5 stars you see is not from their customers. They get up here and/or have other people write good reviews, but it is all a lie. If you don't believe me now, you will if you give them your money. They DO NOT DO ANYTHING for you but take your money. I hope everyone read this review before giving them your money...as I wish we would have done. I'm telling everyone I know about them and encourage them to stay away from these snakes. I don't know how the government allow these people to operate a business of any kind. They need to be stopped and sent to prison. I'm quite sure they have broken many laws. Be warned. Don't say I didn't tell you. THIS COMPANY IS A HUGE FRAUD! Run for your lives!

I heard of Tax Rise from a TikTok ad, which I looked into and decided to give them a call
I heard of Tax Rise from a TikTok ad, which I looked into and decided to give them a call. I was greeted by a most cheerful young woman who gave me the rundown of how their service worked. This rep. then asked me some questions about how much I owed the *** which I told her. This rep. did made it clear that in order to use their service I needed to qualify, The rep. then go into telling me how one need to qualify. She asked how much money do I make each month, what are my total expenses, how much money did I have in the bank, and did own any properties. I then gave her all that information she had asked for. After which she tells me that I qualify for the restart program.. I remember she asked if I had any questions of which I said, no. It seemed to me that she had covered every thing I needed to know. Then, the rep asked if I would like to get started? I said, yes. She then tells me what would happen first, they would pull my *** file to see what they have I owe, which she said would take two weeks. I would be assigned a Case Manager who would then go over their findings and follow up with the next steps negotiate an settlement amount. She then tells me to get started I would need to pay $500. I then said, I can pay that now? She then said, great. Now after I paid $500 of which I thought was all I would have to pay by the way. No more then a week goes by when I was called by another rep who tells me they have got my records from the *** and what I owed. This rep goes on to tell me the years and the total amount I owe $$$$.What came next was what I wasn't repaired. He tells me that I would have to pay $200 for each unfiled tax return I had not filed and attorney fees which somewhere around $4500! Now he did say I could do a payment plan of $180 a month. Here's my issue... None of these amounts were ever mention. I told this rep that. He then tries to explain this is their fees and such. We end by him saying he would call me next week.

If you're considering using Tax Rise to help you with any resolution with the **** I would advise you not to
If you're considering using Tax Rise to help you with any resolution with the *** I would advise you not to. I just finished working with them, and here's the deal. They do give great customer service to hook you. They will go above and beyond to reassure you that you are an excellent candidate for the fresh start initiative and list why. They are friendly and upbeat and promise only to have your best interest in mind. They are trained well to hook you, but what they deliver after and how much they charge you is a different story.I have some back taxes that I was sorting out on how to pay, and everyone I spoke to said they would do everything in their power to get my balance down to basically "nothing" and that they work with clients like me all the time. Be *** of this calculated language; the end result is not how they make it sound. Once you sign with the program, it's very hard to get in touch with anyone. No one answers your emails promptly, you are redirected to several different departments when you call in, and the database they give you to review and upload your documents does not even work. I complained at least 5 times the database wasn't showing my documents or updates, and they did nothing. This company charged me $7500 to resolve my issue, and I couldn't even access my database properly. They also are highly unorganized. They will send automated texts and emails regarding your appointments and get the times and schedule wrong. I personally have never worked with any company that was as disorganized as Tax Rise. In the end, I paid $7500 to Tax Rise to "freeze my interest" and put me on a payment plan. They will provide no information about their correspondence with the *** either. Red flag. The person who closed out my case was also awful on the phone, *** me through the process as if he was bothered I was taking up his time. I'd strongly advise anyone to hire someone who won't take advantage of your situation or call the *** yourself.

Do NOT do business with TaxRise
Do NOT do business with TaxRise. They took advantage of us, promised things they never made an effort to deliver, and quit communicating with us when we questioned the progress they were not making. We hired them TWO YEARS ago and they still haven't provided services they promised. They did not have our best interest in mind but tried very hard to get us to pre-pay them for their "services," which we eventually did. What a mistake. They tried to negotiate with IRS and we didn't owe any taxes with them. They didn't want to negotiate with FTB where we owed back taxes. Eventually, after over a year they came back to us with a settlement offer of exactly what we owed in the first place and to make payments we couldn't possibly afford. That was no negotiation, it was submitting to whatever FTB wanted and presented that to us as their work product. When we said that wasn't possible they said they'd go back and see what they could do. They didn't. Instead they presented to us reasons why we should take the offer and indicated that we has assets and a valuable home. They were actually quoting the assets from another client. It wasn't us at all. They revealed their lack of interest, lack of knowledge, lack of enthusiasm, and lack of effort. When we insisted on a conference they put a phone conference out for quite some time but at the ***, which we had been anxious to arrive, they never called, nor wrote, nor apologized in any way. They, to date, have just ignored us. But they've still got our money. That money could have gone to paying FTB. We're in the same spot we were 2 years ago when we hired them, only worse, We owe more interest. And to top if all off, FTB levied against our bank account during the time TaxRise was representing us and reportedly negotiating for a settlement. The did nothing to protect us and its been devastating. If anyone wants to do business with TaxRise after reading this, you deserve what you get. Be smart and stay away from TaxRise.

This company is a complete scam taking full advantage of vulnerable individuals impacted negatively by the covid19 pandemic
This company is a complete scam taking full advantage of vulnerable individuals impacted negatively by the covid19 pandemic. When the pandemic hit, I lost my job and as a result had a large amount of debt accruing and inability to pay down my debts and taxes. Tax Rise posted an ad on instagram making a strong case for their ability to negotiate and bring down and even eliminate taxes owed for people like myself that were impacted negatively by uncontrollable events like Covid19 and offered a free 15 minute consultation. I setup an appointment and spoke with ***. I should have known to run away the minute the rep began inserting inappropriate comments over the phone towards me, insinuating that because I'm in the fashion and entertainment business "I must get favors or do favors for men all the time." No mention extremely nosy asking for my social media handles in between trying to win over my business. In effort to get my business seeing my hesitation to fork over $1500 dollars up front. He brought down the price of services and claimed they would throw in 2020 debt into negotiation at no extra cost. I agreed but I requested after the fact to be assigned another more professional representative from the company. The company, which sounds like a phone service bank when you call with no direct line to reach a person and constant transfers assigns me *** who basically was reading a script. He could not answer a single question regarding my case without consulting someone else. It took months and loads of paperwork and bank information to even get a resolution which wasn't a resolution at all! Not only did they not get me any deductions as promised/advertised from the *** they charged me over 1K to simple negotiate a payment plan with the *** of finance, and get a lean on payment with the *** that will remain on my record, accruing interest, they did not even keep they word about negotiating the 2020 expenses! They are criminals

I am still awaiting a suitable answer to my questions and concerns laid out in my last email Wednesday of last week
I am still awaiting a suitable answer to my questions and concerns laid out in my last email Wednesday of last week. A survey isn't addressing the immediate deadline circumstance being faced by me and my company. The reason Tax Rise was commissioned was to address my tax liabilities in-their-entirety including my personal taxes, Company 1 and Company 2 for the very concern I'm facing. Because they all impact me and my personal taxes directly and indirectly. Addressing one issue and facing late fees for another was the exact purpose for selecting not to go it alone and hire professional representation. Now Tax Rise is punting on this and leaving me to make my own judgement moves on this liability I face that was not included in the *** This has been the case multiple times now. I present this question: What would the harm have been to include both companies in the *** as a preventive measure even if it was believed one company was compliant as of that date? None that I can see, and yet here we are. Exposed. This is a failure on the part of Tax Rise in the following ways: Layered gatekeeper-like communication, expectation of experienced guidance, lack of insight, preparedness, fortifying, insulating, anticipating the best and preparing for the worst. These are all things I expected from a firm that is dealing with the *** day-in and day-out, every single working day. Everything was supposed to be handled as 1 *** encompassing everything. Now you-all have this matter that is outside of the *** bundle. In my viewpoint, Tax Rise is obligated to come up with a suitable solution to fix this situation rather than to withdraw from addressing it and dismissing it to me to deal with it as a separate matter on my own. Especially since I was actively working on trying to effectively gain a compliant company/IRS status where I could, which you-all knew, while Tax Rise was also knowingly engaged in this client file encompassing said company. Instead, everything seems reactionary. This should not have been an oversight or surprise. If it is/was, then I refer back to the expectation of experienced guidance. Why am I left believing that is not the case again and again?

I am a current client of TAX Rise
I am a current client of TAX Rise. Please be very careful before you sign up with them. Here is my experience. First, the salesman, ***, deliberately lied about their ability to stop The *** deducting automatic payments from my bank account. He stated that the lawyers could stop it. I asked him this question a number of times during the interview. The fact is they cannot stop auto payments. You can possibly stop them through your bank which may incur a monthly fee with the bank and some banks will not honor the stop. Getting past that hurdle, I dealt with ***, who was in charge of my tax return. When they finally got around to doing my taxes I found mistakes and it had to be redone. In the end, I had a real CPA go over them as I did not trust their tax preparers. This was a nightmare, too much to go into details here. With another incident, I had to explain to the *** the sale of my condo on a previous tax return. ***, Hectors supervisor, was in charge of helping me with this stating my entire tax return for that year had to be redone. I knew this wasnt true and tried to talk with her about but she did not bother to find out the facts. Five Days before the reply was due to the *** I phoned her about the progress. Nothing had been done. She gave a lame excuse and the necessary paperwork that I had compiled was faxed to the ***. A complete redo was NOT necessary. Because of her mismanagement we almost missed the deadline. The most distressing part is that I tried to contact the attorneys in charge of my account during this time. They did not respond and I was scolded by *** not to contact them. After I sent certified letters to the attorneys, I was able to have a conversation with an attorney who did inform me of probabilities etc. with my case. She seemed very knowledgeable however said I have to work through the middleman who have been inept and have caused undue stress. This leaves me in the same situation having to deal with people who I dont trust. I am not happy with my dealings with TAX Rise but am stuck because I have spent so much money with them. I have no idea if there will be a positive outcome. I do not recommend TAX Rise. There are other options. The money I paid I could have hired a tax attorney. I didnt do my due diligence. Please do yours before you give any money to TAX Rise.

I hired them to resolve my former business and my personal Federal Income Tax past due taxes.I sent them all the information and documents that they ask for several times since October 'I paid money upfront to get my case started and monthly payments ever since. They said it should *** to 9 months to complete and submit to the *** for a resolution. They said because of the pandemic they are short staffed and behind on all of their cases and would submit my case to the *** in March this year 2022' I would communicate through emails with my case manager for all concerns and updates. I ask for my current case status report several times, which to this day I never did receive a answer.Several times I didn't receive a reply to my emails for 2 to 3 weeks at a time from my case manager.I called their office to see what the problem was and they said she was off work with Covid. Then finally she emailed me and said she submitted my case to the *** in March this year 2022'and it would take 90 days to receive a reply from the *** about my resolution.I never heard anything again except they ask for a payment,I told them I wasn't paying another payment until I get my case status report on what they have done for the last 18 months and what is my current status now. Never heard back from anyone.I was sick with kidney stones and a pinched nerve in my neck for several weeks and I wasn't able to reply to their requests for payment then they just closed my case due to non-communication o I emailed and called them to tell them why I was not able to reply to their phone calls which was only for a request for another payment and that I had been very sick in and out of the hospital and doctors' office. I told them to provide my requests for my case update and my current status with the *** and explanation of what they have accomplished in my case that I would continue making payments with no reply as usual.

On Thursday, July, 15 2023 I had an discussion with my representative from taxrise an "update" on my case. The representative explained to me that they were still "gathering" information to present to me and not to expect a resolution until 80% of my bill with tthem was paid. I have paid over $3000 to them to date, based on their calculations, I've paid 60% of the total cost for filing my taxes--an agent who isn't my case manager explained, my case didn't include state tax filing, in late of March 2023 and I had to file my own state taxes. Initially Taxrise, said they would take care of ALL MY TAXATION NEEDS, nothing has happened with my case to date. IRS hasn't heard from Taxrise since May 2022. I worked out my own situation wirh the state and federal. I would like at least 3/4 of my money back because I resolved my own tax problems.
It all started when I was misled by their representative. He promised a service that was crucial for me, assuring me they would contact the tax authorities on my behalf to halt my payment plan. That turned out to be false, and now I'm burdened with both their company fees and my tax obligations. They entangled me with a third-party lender who refuses to release me from my contract unless the company, Taxrise, reimburses the funds. Although they initiated an investigation into the misleading information I was given, I was never informed of the results, only that the representative in question is no longer employed there.
They delay my requests by shuffling me between various people and departments. I was eventually informed that I must deal with the tax authorities directly, which I did. The tax representative managed to reduce my debt significantly. However, after all is said and done, I will end up owing the lender more than my original debt, rendering their services effectively useless to me. I am eager to learn the outcome of their investigation and whether the representative was terminated as a consequence of his actions. Once his deceptive tactics were exposed, I believe I should have been allowed to withdraw from my contract.
They mentioned that even if they terminated my contract, I would still owe the lender a substantial amount of money, suggesting that I might as well continue with the service. This is bewildering, considering I am not benefiting from the service promised. This company exemplifies unscrupulous behavior.
Tax rise is a company that does not practice what they preach or achieve the successful results they promise when they first pitch their service. All they do is pretend to process your paperwork; meanwhile, they are actually scamming you by delaying the entire process through misplacing your documents and transferring you to different caseworkers. Their so-called thorough investigation is nothing but a sham. This is aside from the consumer laws they are violating. They are committing fraud and infringing upon numerous laws regulated by agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
I want my money back. I will get my money back! I strongly advise against using this company. The authorities should be fulfilling their roles and safeguarding consumers! They are not there to assist you; they are simply intermediaries profiting from what is assumed to be an alleged debt.
The company never should have taken our case to begin with because we had a better settlement then they got us and charged us $500 for this. They never explained that this could happen or I never would have agreed and signed contract and paid the $500. I did not have $500 to waist. They stole from me and that is bad business!

Since hiring Taxrise over one year ago, I have had over 36 email interactions with numerous individuals, dozens of phone calls with numerous individuals, and several emails sent to *** BEGGING someone from *** to contact me. I paid approx $2200.00 to lower a tax debt off $7700.00 and to file 2021 taxes...I did not want them too file 2021 taxes nor did I request them. I was told by *** in documented calls and emails to NOT pay the *** and that their demand letters were scare tactics. I was also told I needed to file 2016 taxes. The prep/documents they wanted to file for 2016 were incomplete and did not include my K1 forms for losses from companies, despite me requesting to add them to filing. That issue was never addressed and I had to go elsewhere for that filing.I followed the advice given to me by *** and the *** collected the $7700.00 PLUS another $1100.00 in fees! When I addressed this with ***, he disappeared and my case got reassigned to "***". I requested several times to A) be refunded my fees and B) to speak with someone in ***. *** called and offered me $600.00 and my request to speak to *** has not even been addressed. My tax debt cost me $11,000.00 to "settle" a $7700.00 debt. When requesting the refund for obvious mismanagement of my case, I was told refunds could only be approved within first THREE DAYS of signing contract. Absolutely NO WORK was done in the first three days to determine whether or not I would need a refund. I attempted to find names of anyone in *** that I could contact, but their emails are conveniently absent, even searching through LinkedIn.All calls and conversations were documented and recorded. If they took the time to review as I have, they would see that my case was severely neglected and mismanaged. I will be seeking legal action. Horrible experience!

In 2018 my wife died and she owed a significant amount in taxes. I reached out to this business and my daughter helped me pay over $4,000 to settle with the tax authorities. I spoke with a representative of the company only over the phone twice. After I paid, the phone calls stopped and he requested additional information. I sent back the requested information three times and each time he emailed, claiming he was still waiting for the information to be faxed over. Thinking that it was me doing something wrong, I reached out to my daughter and she faxed over the information twice. Despite our efforts, each time we were told it was not received. I reached out to the tax authorities personally about the debt and I was informed that since my wife and I filed taxes separately, I did not owe the debt. The representative stopped responding to my communications. I have called and emailed this company numerous times for years with no resolution. They took advantage of me in a time where I was at my lowest and had lost my wife of 30 years. I do not recommend this company at all. They charged me a substantial fee for a debt I never owed.
Tax Rise did not provide service charged my account for months. I have made several attempts to resolve this matter with Tax Rise there has been no resolution The outcome I am seeking is to have all fees charged refunded *** is running a scam they promise service they never provide.
No one will return my call
Taxrise is full of lies and misinformation. From the outset, I was assured that I qualified for tax relief programs and that I would be able to reduce the amount I owe. However, 8 months later, just before the final payment was to be withdrawn from my account, I received documents from the tax authority setting me up for a payment plan, something I could have arranged myself without paying for any services. Taxrise operates on a bait and switch model, preying on those who are frightened and anxious about potential repercussions from the tax authority. I would like them to act honorably and refund all the money they took from me, funds that could have been directed towards settling my tax obligations. I am eager for this issue to be resolved promptly. My sentiments are far from cordial.

On July 9 I called this BUSINESS in REGARDS of handling my IRS back taxes . I spoke with a Representative of the company with the first name ***, we spoke in great depth due to the fact that I had already hired and later cancelled two other Tax Relief companies due to thier practices that I became uncomfortable with. I live in *** and in *** I am by law Aloud to record all my phone calls and do NOT gave to inform the other party as that I am doing so, so all my phone calls are recorded. After going thru in great depth I e-signed a contract with this company in the amount of $3699.96 for thier full services to help me with my back Taxes. They set up a monthly payment plan with me and we went thru every date that the auto withdrawals were to be taken from my account. I was also told that if I could not make a payment to call a few days AHEAD of time and that it would be deferred to the end of the payment plan. On July 17, 202p the first payment of $24666 was auto withdrawn and August payment was taken when set up. On September 14 I called to inform them I could not make that month's payment and to put it on the end as agreed. On October 21 they PROCEEDED to auto withdrawal 2 payments from my account each of $246.66! When upon calling them I was met with extremely Rude individuals and was called a LIAR about the contract that I e-signed, I informed them I wanted to cancel thier services and to please refund all MONEY only to be told that the contract stated that the "Tax Investagation " they IMMEDIATELY supposedly do is $500 and I'd non - refundable. I had them send me a email of the contract and they INDEED charged me on thier contract in WRITING for a Tax Investagation.. however I emailed them the RECORDED conversation on July 9 of their Rep who signed me up and he states 3 SEPARATE times that they ARE NOT GOING TO BE CHARGING ME FOR THE *** INVESTAGATION DONE! They Breached

I paid TaxRise to assist with my tax issues. I took out a loan for $3000 so they could aid me in resolving my back taxes. My mistake was not verifying their reputation on complaintsboard.com. This company has failed to provide any assistance. They claimed to have reached an agreement with the tax authorities, but there is no evidence to show that a payment plan has been established. Additionally, one of the tax years they claimed to have filed for me is still showing as unfiled. Now, I am burdened with the original tax debt and an additional loan for which I received no benefit. I demand a refund! This company is fraudulent!
I started with Taxrise in December . I have paid my full balance of over$6000. My cases manager has 5 times. I have sent in requested paperwork. It is November 2022 with no resolution in site. I am requesting a full refund.
I rendered the accounting services of TaxRise *** to reduce my outstanding tax liability which they said they could do which is the whole reason for me rendering their services. After they requested all my tax information they confirmed that they would be able to remove my tax liability of nearly $5,000. In total they charged me $2,400 but after making monthly installments they never fulfilled their side of the agreement. Their "result" was they setup an a monthly tax payment plan which I told them I already had in place. They said after 5 years I wouldn't have to pay the remainder but would have to pay interest on it which is actually more. So on top of paying them $2,400 their resolution was I still have to pay my tax liability plus interest which was more then the initial finding. They told me they could and would remove my tax liability completely and they lied. I asked for my money back and they said they produced the desired results. I was scammed into paying $2,400 for a service that never happened. I want my money back.
I hired the company TaxRise, who has blatantly lied, misled, misrepresented, and neglected my account. I was told repeatedly by the sales rep and manager that I am a perfect candidate for a tax reduction program. They promised me that there would be multiple attempts at a resolution and that they are confident they can reduce my tax debt drastically. I provided them with all of my information, including income, debt, expenses, etc., that they requested to qualify me. Both the initial sales rep and manager assured me I am a perfect candidate. Once I signed up, I was assigned a case manager who then informed me that my offer was rejected and that, based on my income and expenses (which I had already provided before signing up), I do not meet the qualifications for any debt reduction. This was information they already had before I signed up, but they still lured me in with false hope, misled me, and blatantly lied about the possibility of multiple resolutions. I am currently working with a lawyer to file a lawsuit against them and will not be making any additional payments towards this service. I want you to be aware of these circumstances. Thank you.

I spoke to a representative last year who assured me the investigation into my tax history would cost $500.
I spoke to a representative last year who assured me the tax history investigation would cost $500. I confirmed the price and was told that after payment, the process would begin with contact within 24 hours. A week passed with no response, and the contact details kept changing without any answers. Later, they admitted they couldn't assist with the county tax issue I had previously discussed, leaving me with a $7k debt. They then requested an additional $1500-$2000 to potentially reduce my IRS debt by $2000, which made no sense. The representative lied and committed fraud. When I pursued the results of the investigation, I was told my case was closed. After leaving a negative review, I was contacted by their 'Quality Assurance Specialist' who failed to provide evidence or assistance. Requests to speak to a supervisor were ignored. This company's A+ rating on Complaintsboard.com is misleading and harms the site's credibility. I'm considering a class action lawsuit to address these grievances.

I paid Tax Rise approximately $7,000, via a loan they set up, to negotiate a tax settlement with the tax authorities. I previously was on a tax repayment plan where I was paying $315 a month to the tax authorities with a balance of around $32,000. I provided all of my income and expense information and was told they could help me reduce my tax liability. My monthly payment on the loan for their service is $274. They told me they would work with the tax authorities and the process could take up to a year. Within 30 days they had made an agreement without talking to me first. My balance was not reduced and they agreed to a payment of $350 a month without my permission. I cannot afford to pay this on top of the $274 a month loan payment. I explained this to the agent I was told they did all they could. I was already on a payment arrangement with the tax authorities so they were charging me for something I was able to negotiate for myself. When I complained they assigned me a new case manager, I started the process all over, submitting all the documents they requested. After a couple of months, they came to a non-collect agreement with the tax authorities, didn't reduce any debt, and said the penalties and interest would continue to collect for up to 10 years. Again, this was not helpful and yet I am still obligated to this loan that they coerced me into. For $7,000 they have not provided me a satisfactory outcome and have added a $274 monthly expense that I cannot afford to pay and they do not care to assist me any further.
TaxRise - I had been paying a monthly fee totaling over $3,000 in total once paid in full, then I no longer heard from them. I put down a $500 deposit to settle the account but never received any updates. There was always an excuse about waiting on the IRS.
June Taxrise presented to me a settlement with the IRS. After presenting all of my documentation and paperwork that they requested, they said my case had a great chance of cutting my tax debt by more than half. My taxes owed were $107,000.00, due to me having to utilize my 401K for living expenses after not being employed for 2 years. The cost for having Taxrise work with me was $17,000.00 and will end up being close to $33,317.00 after interest paid for the loan they provided to me. The settlement Taxrise got me was cut to $100,000.00, that means my debt went from $107,000.00 up to $133,317.00 for their help. I now have an additional payment of $396.63 for 7 years on top of the payment to the IRS for $1,200.00 a month.
I have been a client of Taxrise for 2 1/2 years, trying to reduce a tax liability for Tax year 2017. I have paid Taxrise approx $10K in monthly fees for their help in negotiating a reduction in my tax owed for that year. They have been making promises all along, and always state it wont be much longer. Meanwhile I made 30 months of $374 pymts to them for their service. I recently found out that they offered to settle my case for a $500 Offer in Compromise (OIC) Ive already paid 20 times that amount in pymts to them, plus the *** has kept my last 2 or 3 Federal Returns totaling another $8K toward my debt.I would have been better off negotiating the Tax bill myself. I supplied all the required documents, payments and filed for medical, income and death of spouse Hardships but I am no closer to resolution than I was 30 months ago. Taxrise is not helping me.

On 10/7 I signed up with their services to help provide me tax relief from debt that was listed with the *** I was informed of a few different options that would help and was assured that the best option would be for me to have TaxRise take over my case for the next 5 years. I paid an initial fee of $450 and then monthly of $147.53 for the next 23 months. During this time, I was asked by my Account Manager to provide documentation of items. I would immediately upload these items to where I was instructed to do so and get confirmation emails stating upload successfully. I would then receive emails stating that I was still missing documents. When going back through, it was the same documents that I had uploaded. I would get emails from multiple agents, all asking for the same thing, sometimes different things. When asked where these documents went, they stated they didnt have them. While I know that there are many different departments, the entire time of having a case manager, I never heard from them. I continued to get calls or emails from people Ive never dealt with before, mostly from agents asking for me to pay. I never once heard any updates from my case, never received any in regards to any updates to my case. After several calls of payment requests, I sent an email stating that I would no longer be paying on my account until I heard back from someone. I asked numerous times for my account to be handled by the same agent as my partner, and never heard back. I emailed stating that I wanted a call at a specific time and no response to my email or any calls. After several attempts, I continued to get calls from Billing asking for payments. Emails were received that stated my account was locked out for any agent to see unless I made payment. Only once I expressed how I was looking for a copy of a Validation of debt, did I start receiving calls and emails with agents willing to assist, yet still asking for payment.

April 6th, I called Taxrise to help me with my debt
April 6th, I called Taxrise to help me with my debt. I owed the state and federal, all together it was 10k. I was told the couldn't help me with State but, can help me with federal which was 5k. I know it's not a lot of money, but I had just resigned from my job of 12 years, due to my health. They had ask me questions about my debt and my finances. I gave them what they needed and they said I was a candidate for their service. I had to pay them $500 to look into my taxes, I payed them the same day $500 on April 6. I was told to send them more information so I did. I had gotten a call April 16 and was told I had good news. I was told that I had fallen in a certain category to where I would only have pay back 500 dollars to federal instead of paying 5k. I was told that they deal with a lot of cases like mine and that I most definitely won't have to pay more than 500. I was so great full for them. I was bummed that I had to pay an extra *** to get the process started, but they insisted that this was definitely going to be my resolution. So I figure this is better then paying 5k. During this process I had 3 different people working my case. July I had received an email saying they have good news, and that we needed to schedule an appointment. I was so excited, I was told during my meeting that, my resolution is that I'm put on a hardship. which means my federal taxes will be on hold for 1-2 years and that I don't have to make payments unless I want to, that if I get a refund for next tax season they will just deduct from that. And that I'm still going to have to pay 5k. I was very upset, I didn't understand what just happened. I went off on how they told me different. I told them I would have never agreed to those terms. The money I payed them could of went towards the 5k I owed. I never wanted to be put on a hardship. I was told false information, to get me to use their company to help me, but they just put me in more debt.

Tax rise reached out to me and promised to solve my IRS tax issue, where we got penalized for year 2015, 2016 and 2017 for not having health insurance for my wife. I am a veteran and was covered under Tricare and kids were covered under CHIP. But my wife was the only one who could not have insurance simply because we couldn't afford it. I had contracting jobs on and off and she was the main bread winner. We ended up owing about $7600.00 dollars for these years. We were promised by Tax Rise that they could settle our taxes and we wanted to give them a try. After all, we only owed IRS money because we got penalized for not having insurance we couldn't afford any way! I thought that was unfair. First of all Tax rise quoted us over the phone and told us when we file for 2018 it will put us in debt of over $10.000, which would qualify us for a "Fresh start" program. We ended up paying them over $2300.00 in two installments, which were supposed to have settled our debt with IRS. Well, they lied! We ended up getting a refund of $2314.00, which was applied to outstanding balance following way $1862.86 was applied to outstanding balance for 2015 and $451.14 was applied to balance owed for 2016. This was done on our own with taxes we filed through Jackson Hewitt. Year before we knew anything about Tax rise we established payment plan with IRS under $100.00/ month. That should have automatically disqualified us from participating, but they pushed through. I've been notified by tax rise that I still have outstanding balance with IRS of about $5200.00 and a monthly payments of about $100.00/month. That's after paying them $2300.00 which were supposed to settle debt with IRS completely! I feel like I've been robed! This is such a scam and if you read reviews online yiu will quickly notice why. Just read them. What they do is robbing people! This business should be completely illegal. They did nothing for me. I need my $2300.00 dollars back. Please help.

I made contact with TaxRise on Dec 22nd 2021 looking for help with the back taxes I owed to the *** My experience with this company in my opinion is borderline criminal. It is my opinion based on my experience with this company that they operate in a predatory manor as well as in bad faith. My initial phone interview consisted of me giving TaxRise a full financial picture, this process took over 30 minutes. During this process I was asked about my assets and my monthly expenses as well as disposable income. After giving all of this information to my person over the phone they were insistent that they could be of service. I had an issue with the $800.00 retainer they required. My call was put on hold and the rep came back to the phone to advise they could take a retainer for $500.00. I have them my checking account information and was told that they would be in contact with the *** on my behalf. Keep in mind the rep who took my information over the phone knew what we had in our 401K as well as available cash on hand but still insisted that they would be able come up with a solution. After about 3 weeks or so I finally hear back from TaxRise only to be told what I was trying to convey to the rep who took my financial information over the phone. I was told that they would not be able to offer anything at this time based on my financial situation. I demanded a refund of my retainer and advised that they entire process was criminally predatory and in bad faith. They then advised that they would log my complaint and get back to me. To pour salt on the wound they called me back asking for another $1000.00 to file a steam line request with the *** on my behalf so that I could be on a payment plan. At this point they are basically CYA because I accused them of being predatory in nature. I told them NO I will not give them another dime. I called the *** and after being on hold for about an hour was able to establish my own stream line payment plan.for free.

I sought help from Tax Rise for a tax issue, but they failed to resolve it and took my money.
I sought help from Tax Rise for a tax issue. I explained my issue and they took my case. I made an initial payment of $750, followed by several payments of $250, totaling $1500.00. I continued getting letters about my tax issue and received a notice with intent to garnish my wages. I reached out to my counselor to no avail and sent them the letters I received. I called the tax office myself and was told that Tax Rise only requested my tax transcript and did nothing else. They didn't call the tax office or negotiate for my case. They pulled a free transcript, which I could have done myself. The tax office informed me that Tax Rise couldn't negotiate on my account because I needed to pay the taxes due to unpaid federal taxes. I began calling Tax Rise for a refund. Initially, they said they'd refund $500 after a review. I insisted on getting $1000 back. After a year of calling and getting the runaround, I've concluded they are a deceptive business. I saw their ads on Instagram a year ago, but not anymore. Two weeks ago, a representative hung up on me at 5 pm. I called back days later and got an appointment for June 10th, but no one called. Then, I received an email stating they closed my case, with an option to reply to reopen it. I replied to reopen my case but got no response. They are predators, not helping those in need with tax matters.

In seeking assistance w/IRS taxes I was advised by David that I qualified
In seeking assistance w/IRS taxes I was advised by David that I qualified. My initial interactions with taxrise started in Sept. I pd $500 for the federal tax investigation to see if I qualified for the reduction program. My total amt owed,7288.47. I'd been paying 100/mth to IRS for a year, plus. I remained compliant. On 10.8.20 I received a call from David Young stating that he had "good news", after completing federal tax investigation, I qualified for the settlement program & was approved for resolution program w/ a 5-10% liability owed to the IRS once Taxrise completed the negotiation. I paid another 1400.00 for the federal resolution consisting of Taxrise negotiating w/ IRS to reduce amount. After 1400 was pd I was contacted by rep Yesenia Tenorio, case manager. She was horrible/unknowledgeable. Her communication was poor. I shared w/her on emails that I felt there was poor communication/no movement. I shared concerns w/reviews showing similar feelings/concerns/poor service. Yesenia encouraged me on several occasions to allow my payments w/IRS to fall behind by cancelling my monthly draft. She stated that it was the only way to expedite movement w/my case. After numerous uneventful and unproductive emails, on 1.20.21 I spoke w/Yesenia again and she pushed for me to stop my payments w/IRS. She stated that she would be contacting her manager to see if she could get the case expedited. I cancelled payments. On 2.25.21 at 2:30pm Yesenia called stating that the plan I had of 100/mth was the best. So for 1900 I received no help from taxrise. I requested a refund and demanded to speak w/ a supervisor. Given the runaround for days, I finally spoke w/ QA (Robert, a wk later) who told me there was nothing he could do, there were no managers. I reminded him that he mentioned managers he said "they won't talk to you" and disconnected the call. Requested IRS correspondence & my records never received. No one ever contacted me. I've been scammed and want my money back.

I filed a complaint against TaxRise with ComplaintsBoard.com on 7/1/22
I filed a complaint against TaxRise with Complaintsboard.com on 7/1/22. (#***) I am not sure WHY you closed my complaint? You said "The business addressed the issues within the complaint - but consumer remains dissatisfied" ? The two responses they gave simply stated: 0n 7/8/22***Thank you for providing us your feedback. Our quality assurance team has been notified and a member will reach out to you to discuss your concerns asap.***On 7/19/22***we regret that your experience has not been as great as we had hoped. I have notified our *** team and they will be in contact with you as soon as possible.***I am sorry, but how is this "answered"? Nobody from TaxRise has reached out to me! Not between 7/8 and 7/19! Not EVER! 10 *** convinced me they could lower amount I owe to the *** They took $3500.00 from me to "Get me in the FRESH START PROGRAM". I later found I could NEVER had been eligible for this program due to my income. We requested a partial refund in 01/2022 through an email to *** who took my payment. He replied to the email saying we need to talk. Once. At this time I worked 10 hr days 6 days a week and could not call him. Never heard from him again. Sent another request for refund to every person that was involved in case in 05/2022 AND mailed a letter requesting refund to their "Headquarters" in Irvine. After the letter - 06/22 I FINALLY got an email instructing me to choose a date and time to receive a "CLIENT SUCCESS RESOLUTION CALL". I chose the same day 6/7 - between 4:00 and 4:45PM for this call and it was confirmed. I sat at home with my phone in hand and the time the call was to happen came and went. *** (who sent the email) did not call, did not try to reschedule the call, did not ever contact me again. That was last contact I got from ANYONE at TaxRise. I paid $3,500 for help they didnt provide. And after asking Complaintsboard.com for help - they STILL havent contacted me as they keep saying they will!

Hired taxrise 10/11 after hearing voicemails from a company with the FRESH START PROGRAM offering to assist with my $18,000 in back taxes.
Hired taxrise 10/11 after hearing voicemails from a company with the FRESH START PROGRAM offering to assist with my $18,000 in back taxes owed for 2018/2019. After speaking with taxrise, I realized they were not officially affiliated with the FRESH START PROGRAM, but I hired them anyway. I paid $3,500 for their services, with the first $500 covering an initial investigation into my tax account. On 10/21, they confirmed the investigation was complete. Later, they requested information to file my returns, which was unnecessary as my fiance handles my taxes. My fiance, aware of my high income, doubted my eligibility for the Fresh Start Program and showed me numerous complaints on Complaintsboard.com. She managed to arrange a payment plan with the IRS for free and advised me to seek a refund from taxrise. In January 2022, we emailed taxrise about a partial refund. They asked to discuss it over a call or meeting, but due to my busy schedule, I couldn't follow up, and they didn't reach out again. After months of silence, I received an email on June 7, 2022, from taxrise to schedule a 'CLIENT SUCCESS RESOLUTION' call. I chose the same day for the call, but they never contacted me. I've since been trying to get a response from them about the missed call and to request my money back, but to no avail.

Earlier this year just after the tax filing deadline when we realized our tax debt was increasing and our ability to pay was going to make that
Earlier this year just after the tax filing deadline when we realized our tax debt was increasing and our ability to pay was going to make that challenging we contacted TaxRise. They promoted they have and can assist taxpayers with their taxes needs and would work with the *** to "successfully resolve our case" and reduce our tax debt. After a interview and information gathering intake process in either late April or early May and Tax Rise staff strongly indicating they could get our taxes quickly completed and filed, our full tax debt determined AND negotiate an agreement with the *** to reduce out total tax debt we agreed to pay a fee, $500 deposit and $4,500 more to *** and sign with TaxRise to perform these tasks. A case review was done and the conclusion was we would benefit if we signed on. We did so and case # *** was established. We have made every payment and submitted documents as requested. Our tax return, actually a very simple return has not been completed as of today, September 22, 2022. To my knowledge TaxRise has had no contact with the *** on our behalf. Case manager *** repeatedly since we signed on in May insisted the taxes, a simple return, is in the works, is being done. It has not been done. I have sought all updates be in writing while he insists updates be via phone call. On September 12 I made an email request for results now. I requested his manager contact me, an update be provided in writing, a new case manager. I also asked for name and contact info for the tax preparer. I indicated if these things are not being done, cannot or will not be done then they are derelict in their duties, and not meeting the terms of our agreement. Given that being true I requested a refund in full. As of today there has been no response to that, my last and strongest request things begin to get done. I have reached out to Special Financing who has attempted to contact TaxRise on my behalf with no success.

TaxRise took my case on 8/11 offering a "Fresh Start" with the **** Proceeded to assure I was qualify and that should only have to pay "0"
TaxRise took my case on 8/11 offering a "Fresh Start" with the *** Proceeded to assure I was qualify and that should only have to pay "0" Zero or *** "$500". To begin the investigation TaxRise asked for $500 deposit and the remaining fees of $4,893.90 to handle my case. As of this date 7/28/2022 TaxRise has done absolutely nothing!. All these stalls calls strategy they have used just to buy time to tell me they could not resolved my issue with the *** and now I am back into a payment plan. I took a loan from my retirement to pay TaxRise the total amount of $5,393.90 which I am sadly still making payment. TaxRise swore they would get the initial debt of $18,224.00 taken care as they used the same system/software as the *** and had Tax Professionals who had the experience of working with the *** and that I should not worry as this case was proven to be taken care and I will probably not have to pay the *** as my financial situation proved to qualify for a complete write off. I submitted paystubs, bank statements, credit card statements, car note statement, loan statement, to them. No one ever mentioned Credit Card Debt was not acknowledge by the *** as an expense. Until later on my case one of their representative mentioned about the credit cards debt not being taking into consideration by the *** and for this reason my case denied as the *** reviewed my Financial statement and it proves that I could pay them. I request to have the calls audited so TaxRise knows the services being offered and nothing being done in their part. I want people to know how TaxRise misled people, lure people into their game simply to take people's money. This is a company scamming people with license. *** should not be conducting business with the public. TaxRise needs to be honest and upfront about what they can do and they cannot, instead of luring people to take their money. Please see attached the timeline I recorded from the moment TaxRise took my case. Now I owe $20,310.39.

I initially discussed my tax situation with someone named David *** at a site advertised as Fresh Start
I initially discussed my tax situation with someone named David *** at a site advertised as Fresh Start. He later connected me with someone else named Frank ***. I made numerous efforts with both of them to discover how their organization could assist me. They insisted that they could reduce my debt load significantly if I would just pay them $500.00 to investigate my case with the IRS. I decided on 2/16 to take this gamble and gave them my credit card information. They immediately withdrew the $500 and sent to me via email forms to sign giving them permission to act on my behalf. I signed these forms and submitted them. My wife did not. I was told that I had three days to change my mind. On 2/19 my wife and I decided against pursuing this program and to just pay the IRS what we owed them even though we can no longer afford to do. Unfortunately, this date 2/19 fell on a Friday. My computer was unavailable because to us because we had left it in the camper that we are living in that was in repairs for the day at an RV Dealership. My cell phone had gone dead and our charger was also in the camper. It wasn't until the following day (Saturday 2/20) that I was able to communicate our wishes to renege on this contract. I did this in an email to David ***. I asked David *** to stop representing me and to refund the $500 to my credit card. I never heard back from him, but received a phone call from Frank *** on the following Monday trying to convince me to stay with them. I explained that my wife was not going to sign their forms and that I had told David that we were not going to pursue their help and that we would just pay the IRS what we owed and be done with it. He said that that he would ask his supervisor (I guess) what could be done to refund us. A few days later I received a voice message from someone else who said that I alerted them too late and that they were not refunding me the $500 and would pursue this effort on my part whether I wanted them to do so not.

Originally contracted with Taxrise to help me with the *** matter
Originally contracted with Taxrise to help me with the *** matter. They requested I take out a loan to fulfill the payment process to a third-party. The person I spoke to at the third-party company did not recommend It. I informed tax rise that I was not going to contract to make another *** to cover services to deal with the ***. Initially, I was told that at the worst I might come out still owing the *** $3000. After paying monthly payments to TaxRise in November *** January I contacted them because my Social Security check was being garnished. On February 10 I received a message from *** reporting that they had a resolution. Unfortunately, I was unable to speak to her that day and explain to her that my mother had just passed away earlier that morning. I contacted *** in March and requested to speak to a supervisor. Later that afternoon I received a call from a gentleman named *** who reported he was not a supervisor but wanted to discuss the resolution. I explain to him that the resolution was unacceptable and wish to speak to someone about a refund of ***+ a retainer fee that I had paid for their services. In April the *** contacted me and confirmed that I now had a lien against me and that there was no resolution it would stay on my credit report moving forward until either paid or dropped off. I spoke to *** Who reported to be the quality assurance coordinator. I explain to him my situation and put it in writing on March 17 which was faxed to him directly. He informed me that theres a *** would need to make the decision about the refund and that they did on occasion give partial refunds. I contacted *** later in the same week he informed me *** was no longer with the agency. He would be the one I had to deal with. After several attempts to reach *** and faxing him letters, He confirmed that he would get back to me with regards to the refund. He is not taking my calls.
