How many times does it take to change an oil pan gasket and/or rear main seal?
How many times does it take to change an oil pan gasket and/or rear main seal? 5 times... that's the darn number. Now I wait... and... wait till they find a better mechanic. Really? 5 darn stores around the city and you can't fix this, huh... wow... good job Ted Wiens... getting tired.
I left my car at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service on 12/03/2022 around 10:40 am for an oil change
I left my car at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service on 12/03/2022 around 10:40 am for an oil change. The mileage was ***, and they wrote it down on my invoice too. When I picked up my car at around 3:00 pm on the same day, the mileage was ***. I even took a picture at 3:15 pm right after leaving the parking lot to prove it. I contacted the business and asked about the extra mileage, and they said it might have been written down incorrectly. But I checked the mileage before leaving, and I'm sure it's the right one.

After getting my oil changed at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service, something went wrong
After getting my oil changed at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service, something went wrong. The engine service cover fell off not once, but twice! Can you believe it? And to make matters worse, they had the audacity to charge me $146.07 for each replacement. I mean, come on! It's clear as day that the problem occurred because they didn't secure the cover properly after changing my oil. This all happened about six months ago, mind you. The first time it fell off, they replaced it without any hassle. But here's the kicker - my car was in storage for those six months! So when I finally hit the road again, guess what? The same darn engine service cover fell off once more. And what did they do? They had the nerve to charge me again for a replacement. Unbelievable! And to top it all off, when it fell off for the third time just a few days later, they flat out refused to take responsibility for their shoddy repair job. Can you believe the nerve? I have the invoice right here, dated 7/17, with the invoice number ***.
I went to get my car smog inspection at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service
I went to get my car smog inspection at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service. It failed the inspection and I took it to them to figure out what was wrong. They called me and said that my car needed a new catalytic converter. I needed some time to think about whether or not I wanted to replace it, so I picked up my car. As soon as I drove it out of the parking lot, I couldn't accelerate properly. I immediately brought the car back to Ted Wiens to fix this new problem. The next day, someone from Ted Wiens called me and said that it's not completely fixed, but it's running. My car was running fine when I left it with Ted Wiens, but now it's not running properly.
i had my car serviced at this place called Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service in Las Vegas
i had my car serviced at this place called Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service in Las Vegas. After each service, there were more problems that came up. The first time I got an oil change in April , I noticed a big leak afterwards. I took my car back and they said it was because of a transmission leak. Before they serviced my car, there were no leaks at all. They told me it would cost around $1,000 to fix it.
Then, they did a wheel alignment for me. But after that, my steering started making clicking sounds when I turned it. This problem wasn't there before they worked on my car. I found out that they didn't do the alignment properly and it caused some damage to the clock spring. When I brought it back to them to check, they gave me the wrong information and said the clicking sound was because of a plastic part in the steering wheel.
The third time they did an oil change for me, my air conditioning stopped working completely.
I got overcharged by Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service on 10/31
I got overcharged by Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service on 10/31. Their customer service rep, Sam, promised to install my skid plates for free if no extra work was needed. However, after running a quick check on my car, he claimed that drilling into the underside was necessary for attaching the rear plate, so I was charged $204.75. Interestingly, my husband owns the same vehicle and bought the same plate from the same company. He managed to have it installed at his son's place without any hassle. The vehicle was already predrilled, so no additional work was required. Surprisingly, when I received the invoice, they mistakenly put my husband's name instead of mine, even though he hasn't had any work done on his vehicle there. They seem unwilling to correct this mistake and keep putting his name on my invoices. It's worth mentioning that I believe they are engaging in discriminatory practices. I have the necessary paperwork at home if you require it.
On 09/19/2022, I took my car to *** Wiens Craig Road place 'cause my Tire Pressure Monitor thingy was blinking on my dashboard
On 09/19/2022, I took my car to *** Wiens Craig Road place 'cause my Tire Pressure Monitor thingy was blinking on my dashboard. I talked to the service guy and tried to tell him that they messed up the vehicle info in their system. I told him that the front left tire had low air pressure and I had already put more air in it a few days ago. I got new tires in July, only drove about *** miles on 'em. Finally, they decided to check it out and the service guy said it would cost me $147.74 to replace the sensor. I asked how come it's more expensive to replace one sensor when I just got 4 new tires for $111.80. I also asked about the *** Kit ($24) and the installation package ($75), plus an extra $25 to reset the ***. I wondered why they charged me extra for something that should've been included when they installed it. Now I've paid more for the sensors than for a new tire. I've been to this place a few times and I gotta say, they don't care about keeping customers or giving good service. Turns out, they said the "RIGHT REAR SENSOR" was the problem, not the "DRIVERS LEFT FRONT" like the vehicle info said. I went to another *** Wiens place to ask about it and they said the sensors probably weren't set up right when they put on the new tires, which caused the error message to show up... on the drivers left front tire. So, with the initial cost of $111.80 and now the $147.70, I've spent a total of $259.50 on sensors at this place. Sensor ($90), Labor ($24), reset Sensor ($25). And to make things worse, the *** said I never had any work done at their place. With so few miles on the tires, I just wanted a reasonable solution, not a more expensive one.
I took my 2008 Chrysler 300 to a local car service center on August 3, 2022, for repairs.
On August 3, 2022, I took my 2008 Chrysler 300 to a local car service center because my vehicle was having a hard start issue. The front desk representative informed me that the mechanic recommended replacing the fuel pump to address the pressure loss and long start problem. The service and fuel pump replacement cost me $673.66. A few days later, the check engine light reappeared. I went back on August 15, but they were too busy and asked me to return the next day. On August 16th, they diagnosed a fuel sensor issue after examining my car for the day. The check engine light was reset, but the issue persisted. On August 23, 2022, I was assured that replacing the Auxiliary Fuel Sender and O-ring for $484.35 would fix the problem, but it didn't. On September 7, 2022, the check engine light returned, and the manager asked me to leave the car overnight. Now, the car makes loud noises, shuts off immediately after starting, and is undriveable. I feel deceived by the service center and demand a full refund of $1158, but they refuse, claiming ignorance due to the mechanic's departure.
A detailed description is attached
A detailed description is attached. A summary is the following: On 11/14/22, my 2009 Dodge Ram was dropped off at Ted Wiens. I had already replaced the coils, plugs, and cylinder 1 injector, but suspected damage to the cam and lifters. They quoted me $160 for the diagnostic. On 11/15/22, they charged me a new diagnostic fee of $500 to check the 4 MDS under the intake manifold. On 11/17/22, they gave me a new estimate of $2,816.15 for the diagnostic fee, replacing 4 MDS (one was broken by Ted Wiens), completing an oil change, and fuel injection service. The service began on 11/17/22. On 11/18/22, Ted Wiens said the work was done, but the vehicle was leaking from a suspected bad gasket, so I couldn't pick it up. I didn't hear anything from Ted Wiens on 11/21/22 or 11/22/22. On 11/23/22, they told me that one of the newly replaced MDS was faulty and ordered a new one. On 11/25/22, the work was finally completed, and I picked up the vehicle just before closing. I paid a total of $2,794.47. I drove the vehicle home (less than 1 mile) and parked it. On 11/26/22, I noticed that the exact same error code, engine light, and issues were still present. On 11/28/22, I dropped off the vehicle again, suspecting an issue with the cams and lifters. On 11/29/22, Ted Wiens determined that there was indeed a cam issue and recommended replacing the engine for $13,063.70 instead of just the cam and lifters. After two weeks and paying $2,794.47, the vehicle was diagnosed with the same problem I initially reported. Ted Wiens is now saying they don't replace cam and lifters, even though they had no problem taking the vehicle when we reported the issue. I paid for a repair that didn't fix the vehicle, and Ted Wiens never even looked into the problem I reported. They just replaced parts that didn't need replacing. The original issue was never addressed.
Ted Wiens said my car engine had seized and was only worth junk and I should sign the car over to them and that was not the case
Ted Wiens said my car engine had seized and was only worth junk and I should sign the car over to them and that was not the case. They charged me $130 On Friday 2/07 I brought my car into a Ted Wiens repair facility. The car was not running. An hour latter I got a call from Shane *** who was a Service Advisor. Shane told me my engine was seized and I would need a replacement engine which would cost $5000 for the engine and $2002 in labor to get the car running and my best option was sign over the car to them as salvage to cover the cost of the $130 diagnostic fee. Saturday, 2/8 I received a phone call from Shane and spoke to David ***, the Store Manager. In that conversation David told me the mechanic had done quite a bit of work diagnosing my car including removing the spark plugs and pouring in some oil and that the $130 diagnostic fee was fair. David recommended very strongly that I sign the car over to him as junk, that his salvage guy (who David did not name) would then buy the car from him and then David would give me the difference between the $130 diagnostic fee and what he was paid for the car as junk. David told me he was going on vacation that day and I felt pressured into making a decision quickly. Over the weekend I contacted an honest mechanic who told me it was more likely my car was repairable. On Tuesday 2/11 I paid the $130 diagnostic fee to Jose ***, a Service Advisor, and picked up my car. I got in the car and it started right up and I drove it around the parking lot prior to bringing it to the honest mechanic to have it examined and any necessary repairs done. Ted Wiens tried to defraud me of my car and is guilty of Deceptive Trade Practice and False Estimate. Furthermore additional damage was done to my car when Ted Wiens performed unauthorized work and modifications to my car to get the car running because they thought the car was going to end up being theirs as a result of their fraud. Please see supporting documents attached in the xps document: 1. My 2/24 letter to Ted Wiens. 2. Ted Wiens' 2/28 response letter signed by Josh ***, General Manager. 3. Ted Wiens 2/11 invoice (numbered ***) that states, "Crank No Start" "REC Engine" and "Recommended Mechanic Labor $2002". 4. The 2/18 invoice from the honest mechanic *** that clearly shows the my car engine had not seized and that Ted Wiens had damaged my car performing unauthorized modifications to my car.
On Saturday, August 31, I had my old car brought to Ted Wiens at their auto service shop to fix a problem called a death rattle
On Saturday, August 31, I had my old car brought to Ted Wiens at their auto service shop to fix a problem called a death rattle. My friend waited for hours before the car was ready to be driven home. She took it for a test drive and said the car shook even worse than before. I told her to come back right away, and she did, saying she would go home. My boss kindly dropped me off at Ted Wiens after work. We got there around 3 PM, but the work still wasn't finished. It was almost closing time when the mechanic finally returned from his test drive. When I asked him how the car felt, he just shrugged and said it was okay. I left, but I still didn't feel good about his attitude or if the work was done properly. Like I said, it was almost closing time, and I had to be at work by 6 AM the next day. I couldn't return the car. On Sunday, September 1, I left home for work, which was about 40 miles away. The car still had the death rattle. I had no choice but to keep going. There was no other way. It was too late to call off work, and I had no other way to get there. I drove very carefully, trying to avoid any bumps that would make the car shake. But along the way, the shaking got so bad that I almost lost control. I quickly turned on my emergency flashers to warn other drivers. I slowed down to 35 mph and tried to find a way to get to the shoulder and the nearest exit. But traffic was heavy, and I had to wait for an opening. At that moment, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a white car behind me. It looked like the driver was slowing down to avoid hitting me. But I was wrong. The driver slammed on his brakes at the last second to avoid rear-ending me. He swerved to the left and almost hit the driver's side of my car. He kept swerving and narrowly missed hitting three other cars. Finally, his car came to a stop facing the wrong way on Interest 15 North. It was a miracle that no one got hurt or killed. I managed to get to an off-ramp and pull over to check the car. Unfortunately, it was too dark to see anything. I called my workplace to let them know I would be late and explained why. I kept driving on Las Vegas Blvd at 25-35 mph until I reached the junction for the I-93, the only road that leads to my workplace. I stayed on the shoulder with my emergency flashers still on, driving at the same speed. I drove for 5 miles until I reached the turnoff to my workplace. The speed limit there is 35, so I felt safer from that point. When I arrived, I apologized to everyone for being late and explained what had happened. One of my coworkers, who is also a mechanic, looked at the car and got really angry. He recorded his observations and posted them online. Even someone who knows nothing about cars could see that a bolt was missing and a rod was hanging down. He also noticed that the mechanic had put too much grease on the bushings, causing oil to drip onto the ground. He said he would provide a written statement to confirm what he saw. My friend and I were on our way back from visiting her sister in the hospital when we stopped at a bus stop on Boulder Hwy. She mentioned buying a car, and I was desperate to find a way to get to work. There were no buses that went anywhere near my workplace, and hiring a taxi or rideshare driver would be too expensive. I needed a car. She called, and we were surprised to find out that the dealership was open. On Monday, September 2, I saw a red car that I liked. I went back on Tuesday to make a down payment. I called the manager at Ted Wiens on Tuesday and the first thing he said was not to blame the mechanic for negligence. I hadn't even thought of that at that point! I just wanted them to fix my car. He refused to send a tow truck because it was 40 miles away from town. I want to point out that it was Labor Day weekend and Ted Wiens was closed on Monday. It took over a week for someone at the shop to find a bolt of the right size so I could try to drive the car home. I drove, even though my coworkers said it was unsafe. But I had no choice if I wanted to get my car fixed. I drove the same way as before, on the shoulder of I-93 with my emergency flashers on, going 35 mph. I reached the junction for Las Vegas Blvd and drove the rest of the way home in the same manner. The car sat there for a long time. I contacted the manager again, but he still refused to send a tow truck, even though my house was less than 2 miles away from the shop. That was the last I heard from him. He didn't try to contact me or offer a solution. In the meantime, I kept talking to the manager at the dealership and assured her that I was trying to get the car fixed so she wouldn't have it towed. Months went by, and no one from Ted Wiens or the dealership contacted me until January . I spoke to a woman named Earlene and explained what had happened. She understood my situation and gave me the phone number for the dispute department. She also said my next payment wouldn't be due until March 18. I called right away. The woman I spoke to kept interrupting me. I finally got frustrated and told her that if she would stop interrupting, she would get the answers to her questions. She did, and she said she would send me a dispute letter with a return envelope. Instead of emailing me a form to fill out, she said she would send it by mail. The same day we spoke, I sold the car.
