The Nodding Turtle Sudden shut down

I can't figure out why they would shut down operations with no warning. I understand issues arise in everyone's life now and then. And I hope all is well with their family and loved ones. But shutting down operations completely is drastic. This company has become unreliable since the pandemic. Shutting down and causing panic buying. They obviously don't give a crap about their customers. If they did, they would lower prices in this time of economic crisis. And they would make sure faithful customers are taken care of before just cutting off shipping. I've bought my last bag from this company. It's sad, because I have spent so much money with this company over the years.

The nodding turtle did NOT kill your brother. It's HIS FAULT FOR INJESTING THEM they clearly say "wash them first. THROW AWAY THE WASH" they are sold as SOAP supplies. ... Look I know it brings some what of "peace" to blame others but fact of the matter is. Your brother did this to himself. He was the one that injested there wash to get high. ... You can't blame the company for his actions.

I am very sorry about your brother. It certainly is tragic. But he knew what he was doing and there is a plethora of information on the internet on the proper way of usage. It's not always that case with other substances. To wish death on another is reprehensible. His family is going through pain just like yours. He was married and had children and obviously was loved just like your brother. Again I'm sorry for your loss but you should be respectful to their family as well.

I placed an order on the first and now nine days later have yet to receive the order or a tracking number much less get them to respond. I was told it had shipped twice and I paid for overnight shipping. Going to open a dispute with PayPal and start leaving negative reviews if I don’t hear anything by today. They lost a good customer, I spent a lot of money on their site.

The Nodding Turtle Seeds

TNT used to be the best, I was a customer for years and had tried many of the other seller's of "so called" unwashed seeds. Now for current status, TNT sucks big time, their seeds are no where near what they were even 3 to 4 years ago. I have my regular source which I won't state on this site for the obvious reasons that too many people talk and when that happens, these companies are harassed by the dea or whom ever is assigned to f*** with these guys trying to fill a void in a touch and go business that is legal to buy seeds and if you want to pound seed up your [censored] it's perfectly fine but if you want to make tea out of the seeds to get a buzz, the authorities are doing their jobs of making it as hard as possible for you to get a buzz so take it for what it is. In this day and age, too many people talk about a good thing and that makes these [censored] bites jobs much too easy. They send threatening messages to these seller's and tell them what levels are acceptable and they have no choice but to follow what the [censored] bites want them to do. So, really it's not the fault of any seed supplier, it's all you [censored]s that think you can tell the whole world how great of a high you got from these vendors seeds and your comments have caused these people's companies to now sell [censored] seeds so the law is not all up in their [censored] cause no one wants to go to jail or lose their business and all the money you made by selling the once good seeds. All you big mouths that use the internet to tell everybody how great of a means to get high from a supposedly legal source is not as simple as that. Before the internet and all you people that can't control yourselves have fudged up a good thing not only for yourself but for everyone. If you have such an urge to tell all, go get a job at a newspaper or something similar because all you bloggers that have the urge I formention to tell all without thinking about the consequences have made it very easy for the good thing to be wiped out by law enforcement. Thanks for being such [censored]bags. If there was no internet, or maybe I should say before the internet, all these seeds would be a great way to get a buzz or at least a natural way to take care of minor aches and pains without having to jump through all the hoops via the medical professionals, but because there are so many geniuses out there that just can't enjoy a good thing without telling every person that can read, you all one by one have shut down any and all good things that have been known about for years but not really paid much attention to...those days are gone because of all you amateurs that open your big mouths before thinking or writing about it. Funny isn't it, this kind of stuff for the good ol boys that have known since beginning of time, keep your mouth shut and more than likely you'll always have access to what lots of us have known about since children but you millennials don't think before you talk and have f***** it up for all. Another good example is the poppy pods you could buy on eBay and get way more and a higher level of use like they have been doing for hundreds of years, actually thousands of years but once again, all the talk or let's say writing about it online has now put such a focus on it that you can't get them legally any longer where recently you could buy them on eBay but bla bla bla, tell everybody about it, a few overdoses because of ignorance and guess what, not that's out of reach for all when it was a well kept secret for millions of people but a hand full of you junkies writing about it online has caused it to be shut down as well. So now, all you can do is drink or smoke a joint because if you do anything with opiots, you will go to jail...great job, you don't have to write about everything, you won't die if you keep your mouths shut because you are making it much too easy to make everything illegal that shouldn't be and shouldn't be because there was no problem with it before but too much talk gets you too much restrictions. Simple as that!

Word of advice, you're preaching to the choir here. Perhaps you'd have better luck posting this on the poppytea subreddit.

I'm sure you're familiar with it. The one moderated by "mrfuzzydouchebag". The guy who single handedly popularized PST... and who is pretty much responsible for all the chaos that followed. The ridiculous price increases, the scarcity of Good seeds, popular vendors shutting down their listings, the scammers etc. etc.

Good Luck and may the force be with you.

I totally agree with you And that the guy who wrote his concerns about people talking about it is himself talking about it on the internet. But by the way fuzzy did not open that subreddit. There was somebody before him named Gabe. He left and left fuzzy in charge. Gabe however saw the errors of his ways and tried to close the subreddit unsuccessfully unfortunately. Fuzzy is long gone now and actually is off the seed.

The Nodding Turtle tnt now selling washed seeds. stay away!!

These guys are selling bad product. Their new Tasmanian stock is junk and doesn't work. I have stuck with these guys for awhile now and they have fell off the grid. Be careful with your selection as they are passing along bad seeds. I'm currently looking for someone else to get my supply from. It's a shame to see a company go from being on top to rock bottom so quickly. Do your research, spend your money wisely

Is The Nodding Turtle Legit?

The Nodding Turtle earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds The Nodding Turtle to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 14% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, The Nodding Turtle is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with The Nodding Turtle, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

A long registered date for thenoddingturtle.com can be seen as a positive aspect for The Nodding Turtle as it indicates a commitment to maintaining the website and its domain name for a long period of time. It also suggests that the company is organized and has taken steps to secure its online presence.

The age of The Nodding Turtle's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Thenoddingturtle.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.

Several positive reviews for The Nodding Turtle have been found on various review sites. While this may be a good sign, it is important to approach these reviews with caution and consider the possibility of fake or biased reviews.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While The Nodding Turtle has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 14% of 7 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • There was some difficulty in evaluating or examining the information or data present on the thenoddingturtle.com. This could be due to technical issues, limited access, or website may be temporarily down for maintenance or experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Thenoddingturtle.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The thenoddingturtle.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
  • The Nodding Turtle protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.

The Nodding Turtle (warning) tnt is selling washed seeds!

It's been a while since I've done business with TNT. I took a break from the seed game in 2016. In 2015 I was ordering 10 pounds a week of their Tasmanian Special Reserve. The seeds were on par with their competitors and quality was fairly consistent. Never had any problems. Never once did they send me washed seeds.

Fast forward to February of 2018. I decided I had taken a long enough break and felt it was time to return to seeds. I got onto TNT's website and saw they were still in business. YIPPEE! They were out of their Tasmanian SR so I ordered 10 pounds of their European Special Reserve. I have ordered them in the past and they were just about as good as the Tasmanian SR.

Four days later my package came in the mail. I wasted no time opening it. There were two zip lock bags, each filled with 5 pounds of seeds. I opened one up and to my horror, my nostrils were filled with the unmistakable scent of pepper and dirty gym socks, aka "washed seeds". I thought surely there must have been some sort of mistake. I thought perhaps they accidentally sent me the wrong product. I thought to myself, no way would TNT intentionally send out rancid seeds.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and contacted their customer service. I sent them a very polite email detailing what had happened and that felt I was more than entitled to either replacement seeds or a refund.

A whole week passed and I got no response.

I sent another email.

Three days passed, no response.

At this point I was fed up. I sent them a final email. I told them if they do not make things right, then I will have no choice but to call my credit card company and request they do a charge back. I told them they have 72 hours to respond.

72 hours passed, still no response.

I called my credit card company and 48 hours later my money was back in my account.

I will never order seeds from TNT again. I mean it breaks my heart to say that, but they are just not the same company they were in 2015. I suppose they just don't care anymore. Anyway, if you are in the seed game, I highly recommend you avoid TNT like the plague. They will send you rancid seeds and pretty much leave you hanging in hopes you won't do what I did and have your CC company do a charge back.

Pro Tip: The only good seed vendors left are SN and FTL.

Good Luck

Yes 2018 they have went to a 0 out of a possible 5 on customer service. He's going on 8 weeks of selling junk if it's selling. The other competitors are all stocked up. He says every 2 weeks his will be in. Then when the 2 weeks is up he then says another 2 while marking up junk seeds. Money has made him forget about customer service. He forgets the customers made him that money. SAD

The Nodding Turtle Poppy seeds

The poppy seed market is so inconsistent now. The turtle simply can't control his quality. And how would the turtle know they are organic? Does he pay a lab to test them? After they buy a batch from overseas they are stuck with it and pass it on. I'm not sure of the motivation of this complaint, but it is true, sometimes there is this chemical, bitter taste. I say fook all these dishonest half ### poot-butt vendors that have sprung up. I remember when Tasmanian alkaloids was $100 a 50lb bag and were better than anything now. But people kept posting about how great TA was, so they started washing them to the point of flavorlessness. For $2 a lb why go anywhere else? Well, the gap that has been filled by 20 or so scam artist selling either washed, steamed, worthless Turkish, or fake red seeds that are not Pap. Som.. I quit for these reasons. Who knows how much toxins I ingested from my 2 year stint. I was straight poisoned by POPPY SEED DREAMS, and weaver. Not to mention the last 2 batches from the greedy turtle "turkish special reserve dogsheet" were a 6 out of 10 scale. I decides to try one more time and got the "Taz special reserve #2" which were mid grade as well. With no refunds on orders over 5 pounds. And the turtle website always claims a "new" batch that is a 10 will be arriving next week. LOL greedy liar. Go ahead pay $10 a pound for mid grade possibly treated seeds.

Allow me to first say that Poppy Seed Dreams is an outstanding & professional company who really do care about their customer's experience.
I actually got to know them pretty well back in 2015 when we were all both living in Santa Monica, CA and they even allowed me & a couple of my friends to ride along with them one day to tour their cold storage warehouse out in L.A and they also never made a seed purchase unless their stock had passed all agricultural purity tests. Through the years I have learned that Katherine & Poppy seed dreams have established great connections & relationships with suppliers/growers from coast to coast who have been in this business before most of us were even born!
I began purchasing from them back in 2013 when they were based out of Austin, Texas. And they really raised the bar & began setting a new higher standard for this business (and mind you we purchase each week) and in all those years my friends & I have honestly had only one order which we were not happy with but never in our years of purchasing from them did the seeds/product ever make me or my buddies ill in any way. That posters claim is not only harsh & filled with hate but completely untrue. I cannot recall ever hearing of anyone who got ill (Just) off of a condiment or barbecue sauce, etc...Unless they were already three sheets to the wind Drunk! and/or mixing things And I understand that this 'guy' may not even be a customer and perhaps may even be some other competitor who can't stomach any comp. from them or TNT, etc...Needless to say if you go to a restaurant for many years on a regular basis chances are you're going to get a bad meal once in a blue moon..It happens. And most people also know that there will always (unfortunately) be variation within the same seed lot from year to year so it's likely that this guy may have just gotten a bad bag. Nature is not perfect by any means.
And I have no idea who weaver is but it sounds like this guy may in fact be the one who has a problem as it's certainly not poppy seed dreams. I understand this post is now over two years old but poppy seed dreams has been so good to us for years now which is why I & my friends will always back them up & have much love & respect for them. I came across this post and I just couldn't stand by and listen to such nonsense. Katherine works around the clock! answering our emails & taking care of us and even on weekends which is practically unheard of. They are extremely dedicated to their customers and have nothing but love & the most respect for them. There is no easy business out there in my opinion and this is certainly not an easy business either since much of the product quality depends on the weather from year to year which is completely out of our control. Poppy seed dreams has worked hard to earn our respect over these past 5 years or so and we should all try to keep that in mind. Hope to see you all back out in Santa Monica Soon! Troy C.

Then they said they would ship on the 3rd day after I ordered. When I reminded them that it says ALL OVER THE WEBSITE SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY SHIPPING, THEY DELETED MY ACCOUNT,REFUNDED SOME OF THE MONEY MIT ALL AND SAID I COULD NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! I was shocked. I tried to apologize and buy again but they refused. Accused me of harassing and threatening them. They really accused me of threatening them. Not normal [censored] these guys

The Nodding Turtle Scam site, beware!

The Nodding Turtle has been going on websites and advertising their product as well as making accounts on popular websites and posting fake reviews as customers. On their website, you can see that their reviews are clearly fake. They charge you 2 times the price of other poppy seeds and then send you washed, inorganic product. They obviously buy them in bulk wrap them in tiny packaging and ship them for overpriced rates. I tried to post a review to their website...and OH SURPRISE, the review cannot be posted. Their website location is hidden. My friend ordered from the website as well and he never even received the product and oh another surprise...customer service didn't answer. Their Facebook Page has also been removed because of all the complaints against them. WARNING: DO NOT BUY. If anyone comments on this site saying that they are legit, it is the company trying to sell their product and refute all of the bad claims against them. Scam site, Shameful "company."

The Nodding Turtle Not organic food

Advertises organic, hand harvested and non-processed product. This is not true. Impossible. They are very processed as they smell of chemicals and have bizarre taste. I know how they should taste for sure. Smells can differ as they can be sourced from many different regions of the world, but taste is very telling! Reviews on their website seem to be written by the same person or two people. All of the comments are very similiar forensically. Hardly none of these reviews differ. Not only that, but the dates of these reviews are also questionable. All of their reviews are fairly long and very detailed, and mirror each other with capitalization, punctuation and other dead give aways. I have screenshot and saved the reviews because I suspect they will change their reviews around to make them appear more "believable" once they read my complaint here. I'm really surprised there isn't more complaints out there though. I know complaints left on certain threads, such as Topix, will be removed if someone requests it to be removed. Doesn't matter what it say's, Topix will delete it for you. Topix censors big time! They DO NOT support the First Ammendment whatsoever. Back to the seeds. I did decide to go ahead and use them but even then when heat was applied they were gross. The seed color did not bleed off into the dough like organic seeds do. I felt they tasted like a cumin-sage rub for chicken then soaked in febreeze or something. Pretty gross and definetly not worth the money! Just watch out is all.

I see a lot of authentic comments complaining about quality. Then I see an awfully lot of fake comments clearly written by the scumbag everyone is complaining about.

Let's just get it over with an DDOS his site. I'm sure we can find someone on the darkweb to preform that type of task. He's ripped so many people off he deserves it. Everyone throw down 20 bucks each so we can hire someone to take this scammer down for good.

I have quit using TNT, Nodding Turtle which I have been a customer of for at least close to two years. It wasn't due to quality, which I have found to be average to above average, but customer service. I have received quite a few orders late, up to nine days. I have a small business which makes soaps and baked goods and have customers that depend on me. I recently lost a customer, a natural foods store that I depended on for income. I have other customers but this loss did hurt me and my reputation. I realize USPS can be slow but lately NT has taken their time sending orders. Their customer service sends automated emails when I complain and doesn't feel very personalized. I will miss the product though.

The balls roll funny for everyone, Guys..
I recently left a response on the other (resolved) link which is worth reading. This is a tough business especially since it primarily depends on the weather from year to year. Although, I will say Poppy seed dreams was on top of this game before TNT was ever around. And with all due respect to other vendors they continued to dominate in quality & price even after they were around back in [protected]. They (PSD) really began raising the bar to a new higher standard back in [protected]. I've also learned that PSD were even generous enough to help supply & build other vendors good rep.'s in the past years but I won't go on to disclose who those other vendors were. Now, I don't believe in mud slinging especially on a review forum for someone else's company. However, I will say that each of these companies have had their shares of ups & downs which goes for every vendor in the seed business. As I said earlier, these seed vendors have a tough job providing the best and/or same quality to us year after year and we all should just try to keep that mind & respect them all, Troy C.

I don't know what is going on with this guy constantly complaining under different usernames but what he's saying is not correct. I've been a TNT customer for about 11 months and only experienced a weak batch of seeds twice. Most of the time their seeds are 7 to 8 on the scale of 1 to 10. Any vendor who claims their seeds are always the best is lying because seeds vary in strength due to many factors (time of year, country they are imported from, the effect of weather on growing conditions, method and speed of transport to the United States, and so on). The way you can know if a seed vendor is honest is that they will be forthright about the strength of their seeds. If they get a weak batch they'll say so. TNT has done that a few times. They wouldn't still be in business if they were as crappy as this guy is claiming. I purchase seeds from three vendors and I consider TNT to rank #2 in my list. They give refunds whenever there's a problem and I've even had them give me free express overnight shipping when they made a mistake on my order. The level of loquacious vitriol coming from this person is way way over the top and obviously personal which means either he's (1) a competitor trying to damage TNT's business, or he's (2) an intolerant person with a personality disorder and in need of anger management.

its one thing for a customer to go out of their way to voice their complaints in great length and detail about a product or company. bbut its quite another when a customer goes out of their way to defend that same company and theres nothing in it for them. or is there? QQ lol. if a customer is totally satisfied with a company and their product, how do they manage to find complaints about that company unless they're looking for it? and if they were looking for it, why? lol. im sure "agrainofsalt" was in such awe with the product that they were compelled to look for a decent place to leave raving reviews and booyah, found it on a complaint board page lol. their comment was left during the time frame (see date) that TNT had their facebook page up where it could of been left there. the comment date also aligns with the time frame for which reviews were welcomed on TNT's 'order site' provided that the reviews were positive lol. perhaps the reason why TNT disabled the review section of their site is because there was malfunctions considering every single review that was posted there were always positive ones. somehow those pesky negative reviews never seemed to quite make it on there lol. oh well. im sure its just because out of the hundreds of customers who decided to leave a review just never had anything negative to say! not. nary. a. one. ever! lol then, of course, there was the time were the facebook page was deactivated, then reactivated, deactivated, and the reactivated again. let me see if its deactivated right now lol. it seems to be back up but i didnt rummage through it. surely there are no negative reviews there and in the extremely rare event that there is, im confident it wouldnt be removed lol.

so im sure 'agrainofsalt' is real authentic customer who simply takes loyalty to a whole new level and they just so happened stumble upon this page while NOT looking to see if anyone was talking smack about their favorite poppy seed company lol. i wonder do they do this for ALL their "favorite" companys? grocery stores? apparel stores? restaurants? lol. if so, ill bet those companys just love having a true ride or die customer like that who takes the time to seek out negative grievances left by unhappy customers so they can combat those complaints with their own positive reviews in a true superhero fashion lol. good for you, Captain Positive Review. (super hero themes chime in here) i will be taking your review seriously, agrainofsalt, as i know it comes from the heart and that is what makes it sincere and highly beleivable. thank you. :)

Ordered just once and the seeds were absolutely legit. Do poppy seeds vary? Of course they do. Do you think there's a magic poppy field somewhere just shooting out the same exact flowers every day? If you're going to be a fa-king shill, then do these two things before you go spreading your obviously untrue shill bullshyte:

1. Ask for a refund you cheap ###(s)(note that this is probably one single person leaving all of these negative reviews. You can see that the grammar, sentence/paragraph structure is very alike between the 3 or 4 supposedly different people complaining). They guarantee their products. They'll give you a refund. If you've placed an order, and complained, and they didn't respond or give you a refund, take a screenshot. Post it. Let's see proof. Eh? That's what I thought.

and

2. Don't order from them anymore. (see above: "So I thought, what the heck, I'll order again from them"). You idiot. Duurrrr, I'm not happy with mah order, but what the hey, I'ma go ahead and order again! Are you insane? This is what really confirmed what I was already thinking while I was reading through this bullshyte complaint- it's fake. I would have thought this would go without saying, but some people are fa-king idiot liars. My guess, it's hella easy to leave negative feedback over and over again, with the same computer. Some competitor is on here trying his/her best to steer customers away from a well-known, legit, and reliable vendor of unwashed seeds. GTFO. Get a life, idiot.

I've been a customer for a couple of months and have compared the quality of The Nodding Turtle with Poppy Seed Dreams and can definitely say from my own experience that TNT is vastly superior. The Nodding Turtle's seeds are much stronger, and you can even tell by the taste that they are unwashed and untreated while Poppy Seed Dreams had a very weak and washed taste. I had a problem with placing an order and receiving the wrong brand. When letting them know this they sent the proper brand shipping included, and even said keep the other brand as a gift. They always reply to emails within the same day (sometimes within only a couple hours). My experience with TNT has been nothing but the best, Poppy Seed Dreams not so much.

I have had an absolutely horrific experience with this company.

The first time I ordered, the order was not even shipped until 6 days after I had paid for it. At that point, I wanted to cancel it. The company was slow to respond to my emails. They promised a refund for my shipping costs, which never came. Eventually, after paying for 2 day shipping, and getting my order a week and a half later, they sent a "freebie". Which, ok, that was nice of them.

So I thought, what the heck, I'll order again from them.

The order comes, but it it NOT WHAT I ORDERED. It came in a timely manner, but it was not as advertised. I have repeatedly sent emails to their customer service, and have gotten not a single reply.

What I requested was not unreasonable, I simply wanted the correct product or a refund. No reply.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEB SITE.
