Thousand Trails Fraudulent use of my membership number

I have determined thru evidence collection that Thousand Trails has been accessing my Account and using my membership number make unauthorized reservations between 2020-2021.

This is considered FRAUD and I am going to be sending a full report to California Department of Consumer Affairs for their investigation. This fraud provided free camping for non-members. Furthermore, if you don't follow my request to terminate my membership, it will be my intention to provide proof of federal RICO Act related evidence to the US Attorney, Southern District of California, which these crimes were committed.

I am requesting in my recovery that Thousand Trails cancel my membership, cease and desist unauthorized use of my membership number and terminate any unused membership credit being used by other persons in my name. Failure to respond or do so immediately, will result in my contact with multiple media sources to reveal the type of fraud in your operation.

You can be sure of two things; You will lose business and be party to further civil actions after my RICO Act case against you and by other members once they find out their membership benefits have been stolen and fraudulently used to provide camping for non-members and the Thousand Trails name may be associated with corruption on a wide scale as a result. I am also going to be communicating to IRS and FBI Financial Crimes Division due to the banking irregularities noticed.

Below you will find sample dates, reservation numbers and locations fraudulently made by Pio Pico RV Park. These reservations were not made by us due to both California Covid Guideline Restrictions by CDC and our non-use of membership number during these periods. Further bank evidence will be used to support these allegations.

Kenneth Hudgens

Thousand Trails Unsafe environment with poor management

This is regarding Roundout Valley Resort in Accord, NY.

I was recorded taking a shower in the Rally Field bathroom. The initial response by staff was great, multiple golf carts flew to the location, they took my statements, they gave me a place to give the police a statement.

The response by management the next day was beyond disgusting. I understand that I had very little in terms of identifying information to find the person responsible so my next concern became "what will be done to prevent this from happening again in the future". Crystal, the manager, could only repeat "we are not required to have cameras on the grounds". Mind you, there are cameras outside of EVERY bathhouse. Rally field only live streams, completely useless. The others are apparently not functioning at all. The question is why should it have to be REQUIRED in order to protect the guests of this establishment? Who the hell wouldn't jump on adding recording devices after something like this occurred? Anyway, I was then kicked out of the office by Crystal for, in her words, "talking over her". She didn't say yelling, threatening, cussing, no, the offense was daring to talk over her as she basically told me they won't do anything to protect the guests.

I took it upon myself to start warning the women and children in the campground to be on guard, making a flier as well to put in the bathrooms to let them know to take proper precautions and be on the lookout. Someone had to tell them to be careful. The staff promptly took down every single one and discarded them.

I received a call from a higher up in Albany telling me that the staff never approached me the following day to check up, let me know what they were doing, let me know anything at all or even say hi, because they felt attacked by my encounter with Crystal and my printout. Glad to know who the real victims are here. It's been really lovely. The higherup told me because it's a police investigation that they are cooperating with the police but doing nothing internally and again, they are not required to have cameras. He condescendingly asked me "what would you want us to do to make it safer". Add recording devices outside of the bathhouses. Add more staff, especially on Saturdays when the alcohol is flowing due to the DJ/band. Warn women and guests to be especially careful until more is found out. This isn't rocket science and the guests here shouldn't have to be the ones to advise them on how to secure their business. He told me they will start having more loops done around the bathhouses around 10:30pm. Good luck to the ones earlier. He seems to be relying on the idea that the offender has left. Criminally irresponsible thinking.

My children are almost always with me when I shower, thank God I was alone that night. I pray it doesn't have to come to a child being involved or someone being physically assaulted before this situation is taken seriously. If the offender is still here, if he does come back, he now knows there are no recording devices. He now knows that if the woman screams for 2+ minutes straight that no one will come and help her. He now knows that the staff will close ranks and protect themselves and their establishment instead of doing the right thing.

I have since been approached by several young women telling me they can not believe they are removing the warnings and that they (the young ladies) have taken pictures of the signs and are alerting others about the issue. This is completely unacceptable. If they would prefer their own PSA's to go up, fine. But DO SOMETHING. I want something done NOW. And I want a really big apology from the horrific management.

Desired outcome: Safety measures implemented. Apologies. New capable management. Training for all staff.

Thousand Trails No answer.

We have enjoyed Thousand Trails for several years. It has always provided great savings and nice places to camp.

However, we are on the road right now and absolutely cannot get anyone on the phone to help us pay for the camp we need. The login isn't allowing us to pay either.

We've been driving for a few days now and are getting closer to what we HOPE is our destination.
This is very disconcerting and so unlike the Thousand Trails we've come to know and respect.

Please help. Kathy Booker.

Desired outcome: Pay and schedule our site at Patton Pond.

Thousand Trails Day Use

We have been members for over 30 years. Since we don't own a camper we prefer the Day Use Pass because we live so close to Lake and Shore in New Jersey. This year since everything has opened back up after CoVid, they are not allowing Day Use of Lake and Shore. Even though we tried to contact them several times by phone and email, they don't respond. We are not paying our maintance fee of $900 until we get some results. Even though they call every week for their money no one can get use some results.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Desired outcome: Retain Day Use

Thousand Trails Managers

We have owned a annual site at Lake Myers Campground for almost 4 years and we can not keep a manager. in the last two years we have went through several managers it seems every time the managers begin to do good things for the park they get fired for undisclosed reasons. This is very frustrating for us as we enjoy being able to bring our kids to the campground to do fun activities without a manager we have no activities and no much needed improvements to the park. Hopefully you can see how frustrating this is for us as we do spend quite a bit of money to have the annual site there. Please bring Julie back to the park at least for the remainder of the year after the years we have had with Covid 19 and Quarantine we all deserve to have a good manager who will make improvements and conduct activities for those who spend a lot of money to stay here. Thank you

Thousand Trails Lake Myers Mocksville NC

Last night we learned of the best manager lake myers had, Julie Walter, being let go from the company for undisclosed reasons. That was a huge mistake! She has always went above and beyond making herself available at all times. She left her office, was available to campers at all times, planned and executed great activities, helped around camp wherever was needed. It wasn't abnormal to see her shoveling and spreading rocks one minute, dealing with water issues the next, reading books to our children the next all while answering the office phone and emergency phone! She was able to manage the park by the books which had never been done there before and yet still campers liked her. Don't believe lies from the rude office personel whom is probably trying to steal their way to the top. It's a sad day for lake myers for sure. Upper management letting Julie go was one of the worst decisions we have saw since we have been annuals at the park. We as annuals deserve to have the activities and amenities that's advertised and in the contact we signed. Admit your mistake bring Julie back and let the true problems go, the office staff!

Desired outcome: To get Julie Walter the job she deserves back. Not only for her that was victim to wrongdoings but for all the campers and annuals who are tired of the unstability of the staff.

Thousand Trails Lake Myers Management

Finally! We had a fair, hard-working manager that cared about the well-being and sustainability of Lake Myers. She actually left her office to HELP RUN the campground to ensure a successful operation.
Those that experienced her leadership should have been asked about the quality of her work. Making blind decisions from behind a desk is unsound.

Desired outcome: Reinstatement

Thousand Trails Management /manager of lake myers campground

I have been with lake Myers campground for 13 years now. The number of managers they have gone through is devastating. We recently got an excellent manager Julie Walters, ran the park by the contract. Went beyond her job to be there for the annuals, responded to after hour calls, problems, emergencies. She has been the best manager we have had in 13 years. She actually worked for the campground. Because 1 person files a law suit for wrongful termination. The company gets all upset and without investigating the real problem. This is one of the biggest mistakes this company does. She started in October 2020. Was let go on June 29. 2021. This has to stop. We as annuals are tired of going thru managers ever year or two. Every time a new manager is hired all the rules change. What is so wrong with the managers that are hired, that they have to keep firing them so fast. Apparently its not the managers it is the upper management that have the problems. Either they dont know how to check out the managers, or they listen to gossip, or wrongfull complaints, and act quickly to let them go. We wonder if upper management or board of directors actually know what is going on within their properties. Its ridiculous enough for the amount of seasonal rent they charge, for them to turn around and claim theres not enough funding for certain aspects of the campground. They go through maintenance personal, activity directors and office personal as fast as managers. The office personal they have right now is very incompetent, rude. Gives out false information to campers, and makes sure annuals, teenagers, in the park knows she is bi-sexual. This is not the place to discuss your sexual preferences. This is a family, atmosphere. I hope that corporate can clearly see they are constantly letting lower management make decisions that is definitely hurting their corporation.

Desired outcome: Response by corporate or board of directors to lower management

Thousand Trails Lake Minden Resort

This is not a resort. It's a dirty grassy graveled field with electricity, water, and a bathroom. The place is very run down. What's worse is some frumpy fat person comes to my coach door and says I have to show my name on the dated paper display in the coach window so he can write it on his clipboard. I tell him no one has said I had to in the past and they always ask anyway even when I had forgotten to remove my name from the dated paper display. The person says that's the rules. The person said they enforce the rules but obviously not when it comes to trash and animals. EVERYTIME I have stayed here I have always had to clean up other people's trash and animal droppings just so I don't park on it. There are many campers with multiple animals. How can someone want six cats or dogs or some with several of each to take camping and not clean up after them? That's disgusting. There's rules saying they must clean up after the animals but most don't and it's not enforced. When one complains they say they'll do something which is nothing. No one answers the phone or emails at "headquarters " This place grosses me out and I've had enough. I don't think I'll be coming back again. I'm very disappointed in Lake Minden and Thousand Trails.

Desired outcome: Enforced All Rules, clean and fix the place

Thousand Trails Park manager

I left the campground on good terms. All dues paid and never any trouble. The park manager doesn't like me personally so he is telling me I can use my thousand trails membership to camp there but not annually. I have filed a discrimination complaint with the state. It is Brian Nelson at the batesville indiana location. I do not want to take these steps but something needs resolved. I was never forced to leave. I left because I wanted to. So how does he have the right to tell me I cannot come back? His email is [protected]@equitylifestyle.com and his name is Brian Nelson

Desired outcome: Become an annual camper again

Thousand Trails Play ground / management

The play ground has been removed from the main area and has been located outside of the gate of the campground. Kids need to cross a stress to go play (this street is the main road that all the cars/trucks/trailers) use to enter into the camping. Kids will need to walk in between cars to enter into the camping.
Kids have been removed form the campground, and they are the main reason why we come to caomp. We do not even seen them... This campground was very familiar, with all the kids (many ages) playing all together. Now little kids play outside the camping and big kids stay inside.

Today I tried to talk to the manager who said that he is not talking about this.

Can someone come and inspect what is being done with the playground? An accident is going to happen due to its location. Finally, it should be inside the camping where the gate is, so tt can limit the contact between kids and estrangers. What is the point of building a playground beside a condo? Is that camping?

Desired outcome: Have the playground inside the camping in a safe location.

Thousand Trails Get no response to inquiries

I purchased an upgrade so my kids would be able to have the same all-campground membership I was grandfathered in from my parents' membership. That was in 2012. During 2020 I was able to pay off the remaining $2200 balance.

In December 2020, no dues statement showed up. I owe dues but won't send payments unless I can verify my membership and account status. I've been trying to log-on to their site but get denied every time. I've called, left messages on the TT customer service machine for various departments, sent emails; exhausted the options they list except for mailing a certified letter, which will be next. TT's machine says I will receive a return call in about an hour, but that does not happen even days and weeks later. Emails receive a generalized auto-response.

I've not been able to find any info as to what is going on: has TT just revoked my membership with no notice? Is TT corporate office shut down due to COVID-19? If so, they have not sent any notice.

Desired outcome: Direct Answers from Thousand Trails

Thousand Trails Selective harassment and rule enforcement and poor site management

This complaint is file under fear of retaliation from thousand trails pio pico management.

On a january 22nd, 2021 while at thousand trails pio pico campground we received a "friendly reminder" regarding the following park rules "selling items from your site is not permissible" issued by ranger terry b. When I spoke to ranger manager sheila who has been employed in that capacity for only 4 months advising her for months site members rv, that if we can't sell items they shouldn't be able too, and to go after the old violators then the new (like us). She replied that she has only been in management for 4 months. I advised her that if we can't sell other members should receive a notice today as we received one and that we were submitting a complaint to corporate today. She replied that she has only been in management for 4 months and mentioned no action she would take on other violators and reverted by to the rule, even mentioning what kind of flags (us flag, etc.,) can be demonstrated by site members which I could not find in the rules. Can we put a us flag upside down, giving that our country is in distress? Can we put flags of other countries? Can we post flags connected to religion up? This needs clarification.

Desired outcome: Corrective Documented Actions-Reprimand

Thousand Trails Membership terminated and banned for life!

Our vacation was planned and we decided to stay in Show Low, Arizona for a period of 6 weeks. We made our reservations through our membership and an agent who we called on the Thousand Trails reservation line. We have never used our membership for more than 5 to 7 consecutive days as we both work and are not full time RV people. We also use our membership approximately 15 to 20 nights per year, we do not take advantage of the membership.

While making our reservations we asked the agent of Thousands Trails if we could pay for the 2 weeks between the 2 reservations we were making under our Membership, so that we would have 6 consecutive weeks at the Venture In RV Park. The agent told us yes, but that we would have to pay regular rates for the middle reservation, of which we gladly paid so that we would not have to leave the park and then re-enter 2 weeks later. In that instance we paid full price for the following 2 weeks as a non-member. We then booked with the same agent the final reservation, for an additional 2 weeks under our membership. All of which was approved and confirmed by the Thousand Trails reservations agent. I asked the same agent if it would be possible to have the same RV Site so that there would be no need to move sites. He stated that it would be best to contact the park directly as they have a better opportunity to assist in this request.

We did exactly what was asked by the agent and contacted the park.

When we reached out to Venture In we were immediately scolded by the manager, Eileen for attempting to circumvent the rules and told that not only could we not make consecutive reservations or have the same site, but that they no longer had availability for us! We were very professional in our approach with Eileen, but unfortunately, we were met with a very temperamental lady who seemed to think we were trying to cheat the system. I reminded her that we asked and were told by the booking agent that we could pay for the 2-week period in between our 2 reservations. At this point we stated to Eileen that the reservations were made and approved by the Thousand Trails booking agent. We then asked Eileen to reach out to Thousand Trails to confirm what we had done. Eileen reached out to Thousand Trails and a couple of days later we received a call from Donna Dickerson, a representative of Thousand Trails. She confirmed that the 2nd reservation was made in error by their agent and that even though we were paying in full as a non-member, we could not do so because of the membership rules. We agreed and made reservations at another park for the period between the 1st and 3rd reservations.

We received an email cancelling our 2nd reservation and our deposit was refunded.

We then received a voicemail from a Thousand Trails representative who stated that our 3rd reservation was cancelled and that Venture In, no longer had availability.

We contacted Donna Dickerson as we were well into our vacation and asked how a cancellation could occur just days before our check in? We had made significant plans including flights to and from Show Low as well as prepaid for golf. We also had family arriving and staying at the same park as part of our vacation. Donna was excellent in her customer service and fully understood our situation. Through significant efforts on her part, she was able to re-reserve our site for the period we had requested. Donna spoke directly with Eileen of Venture In and she will attest to the challenges and lack of professionalism on the part of Eileen.
Donna went as far as to apologize for the misunderstanding and then offered us a 1 year free membership for our inconvenience and the challenges we were met with by the Manager Eileen of Venture In.
We enjoyed our time at Venture In and never once spoke with Eileen during the 3rd reservation.
We are now traveling in August with 3 other couples (4 couples in total) in 4 motorhomes. We made reservations at Venture In for August 17th, departing on the 21st. Each couple making their reservations independently. There were no sites available for Thousand Trails memberships so we booked and paid for our site like the rest of our group. All our group was booked and confirmed. 2 days following we received a cancellation of our reservation by email. Only our reservation was cancelled, the remainder of our group were not. We called the reservation line and the booking agent said they had no information as to why it was cancelled.
We contacted Donna and asked if she could assist as we felt Eileen may have had something to do with the cancellation. Donna again was excellent in assisting us and made the reservation for us. 2 hours later, we were notified by email that the reservation was cancelled again. We contacted Donna again and she along with us were shocked by this and escalated our concerns to her supervisor. She called us back and confirmed the reservation once again and stated that she had made notes in the reservation that the reservation was not to be cancelled as per instructions of her supervisor. Two days later Eileen cancelled the reservation for the third time.
I contacted Donna again and she was very apologetic for what was happening and stated that she was going to escalate this to senior management as the circumstances of our reservations were beyond anything she could manage.
Two days later we received a letter from Customer Service revoking our Membership and stating that we have been banned from all Thousand Trails facilities now and in the future. They cited that we had 2 policy infractions, the first that we made multiple reservations under several names to intentionally stay beyond the 2 week reservation period and secondly that our conduct and way with which we conducted ourselves to staff and management was inexcusable and would not be tolerated. Both accusations are false and Thousand Trails did not even contact us to better understand the situation.
Donna Dickerson was extremely helpful through this entire process, but at the point when she was equally as frustrated, she reached out to her superiors for assistance. It is my understanding that they spoke to the Manager, Eileen at Venture In and this is the story that she presented. All of which is false!

I can assure you, we have never breached any rules of Thousand Trails. The one time we ask if we could pay to stay for 6 weeks we were told yes, the agent took our reservation and charged our credit cardt and we are cited for breaching the membership policies. As far as conduct goes, my wife and I are extremely caring individuals and there is no chance that either of us would raise our voice or be disrespectful to anyone. Donna would be able to attest to this.
In all of this, there is obviously miscommunication and certainly information that is not consistent for Thousand Trails to revoke or cancel our membership with the accusations that are stated.
I highly recommend that someone from Member Services or a Senior Management Representative reach out and discuss the content of this letter by speaking directly with us.
I am surprised that a letter cancelling a membership without hearing both sides of the story would even occur.
Donna Dickerson can confirm the timeline and actions which took place during our stay and the way we were treated by Eileen.
Respectfully submitted,

Lloyd & Tannis McBean

Thousand Trails Membership access

The Medina Lake Texas park has continually refused to allow members to use boat ramp. They (site managment) claim the Covid restrictions from corporate say no day use. Though they would allow me to bring my rv trailer and use one of my 14 days of members use. Then I could bring the boat and use ramp. ..essentially they are changing the terms of the member use agreement to avoid allowing day use.

Thousand Trails Extended contact for fy 2020-2021 or refund for two months of contract unable to use during the virginia virus.

I have placed three phone calls to Thousand Trails Member Services. My first two calls your agents were polite and gave me information (to their best of knowledge) regarding my contract being extended or a two month refund (March-May 14 2020). Your agents were not sure at that time which way the supervisor would handle my case. Each case was to be handled individually. I paid the entire yearly contract in for $460. Our State of Virginia just released camping effective May 15th. Both agents did say we would be getting a email from Thousand Trails regarding their standings. We have not received any correspondence as of today.
Now today conversation with your TT agent was a rude, unprofessional and hateful. She indicated to me that TT was not going to refund or extend the contracts. The contract states just because we are not able to camp does not mean we are due any type of adjustments including the Coronavirus.
We are in our third year of our contract. Like I said we paid in full yearly. The third agent kept on discussing other campers late fees and passed due invoices. This is none of my business. I also requested to speak to a manager and was denied the opportunity. Your company has serious customer service problems.
I have always given TT a great review but now I can see why people are suing and canceling their contracts.
I would appreciate receiving the email that was suppose to be given to us I would appreciate receiving some type of response to my complaint. I also would like to know how much it would cost us to cancel our contract for FY 21-22.
