Tours4Fun stay away

After booking a bus tour with TOURS4FUN well in advance, my wife and I flew to Salt Lake City and registered at the motel designated by Seagull/C&J Express - the tour provider.

When we boarded the bus the next morning imagine our surprise to learn that we were given the last two seats on a Chinese group tour for our four-day Yellowstone, Grand Teton Tour package.

The tour consisted of a Chinese tour guide, a Chinese driver and a large ethnic group that spoke only in Chinese.

Throughout the trip the guide regaled the group with stories (apparently funny) and landmark highlights for literally hours on end over the PA system. Occasionally, between stories, a few words would be spoken in English, but the guide's heavy accent made it difficult to understand what he was imparting to us.

Most of the time -- well over 95% -- we sat there completely perplexed.

The rapport with fellow travelers that usually develops on such a trip was impossible, due to the inability to communicate.

The stares of some of the group suggested that they were questioning, as were we, why we were even on the bus.

In response to our complaint, TOURS4FUN stated that the Customer Agreement that we acquiesced to states that their tours are escorted by professional English or bi- or multi-lingual tour guides or drivers, and they have received some complimentary letters from many English-speaking customers.

This response was totally inadequate.

Agreeing to the possibility of a bi-lingual tour guide had nothing to do with the fact that we were unknowingly booked on an exclusive Chinese tour. Even the bus windshield card designated the trip in Chinese.

Our tour representatives were unprepared to offer any semblance of accommodation to English-speaking passengers.

The experience was unpleasant and the vacation we looked forward to ruined.

There are many well qualified tour providers our there and we recommend that TOURS4FUN be avoided.

Tours4Fun worst tour ever

My family of 5 signed on for the 7 day Yellowstone/Mt. Rushmore Tour from Denver, Colorado 4 months before the actual tour. It was a disaster before day 1. I called the operator of Tours4 Fun the day before the tour to confirm my reservation. I was told to meet at the fountain at Denver as on my itinerary .We arrived the day before since the earliest flight from SF would arrive in Denver at 11am. We did not want to miss the tour which started at 11:30 am. The itinerary and operator stated that if you did not arrive by 11:30 am, the day of the tour you will miss the city tour and you would have to transfer from the airport to the Hotel and join the tour the next day. When we arrived at the Denver Airport the fountain was nowhere to be found. I called the operator again and this time they told us to meet at the Burger King/Panda Express on the second floor. At this time they told me that we were to meet the tour guide and he would have a Seagull Tour Flag. I told them that I did not sign up for that tour. I was assured that it would be the same tour.

The day of the tour, I called the tour guide, to let him know that we were on time and that we were at Burger King. He told us to stay there. Later, he called and told us that we are to meet on the first floor were the old fountain use to be. We arrived before 11:30am. As I spoke to him, he asked if we ate, of course we did. We were ready to go on the city tour... The tour guide then announced that we will be at the airport until 12:30pm, so that the other travelers could have lunch as we waited for the others to arrive. We didn’t leave until 12:45pm. What a waste of time! I could have 1) arrived that day of the tour and 2) save on one night hotel bill for 5 of us.

In addition to this, my itinerary stated a Coors Brewery Tour. I mention this to the tour guide. He said we would not be going. What? The Coors Brewery does not allow bus tours for the last 5+ years. Tour4 Fun knew this and they continue to add it to their itinerary to sound good. The reason I chose to start at Denver for this tour was because of the brewery. My other choice was to start at Salt Lake City. Not only was the Coors Brewery on my itinerary, it is still on the Tours4Fun website for the following tours-85-2936, 85-2944, 85-3103. I called the operator for Tours4Fun at the airport and complained. No results after 20 minutes on my cell. We were really pissed. The tour guide has told them to take it off the tour website many times for the last 5+ years. WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THE 3 BOYS AND MY HUSBAND! WHAT A WAY TO START A TOUR!

Even though we are Chinese Americans, we were treated as second/third class citizens.

We were hardly spoken too. He put us down when we corrected him/or had right answers. Our hearts go out to the English speaking travelers. The tour guide did not translate all the information to English. He also did not translate certain information to the Chinese (Mandarin Speaking). (eg The bus drivers spoke English on the microphone and ask everyone to make sure you clean your area (trash, paper, etc.) before leaving the bus for the day. We were in the front seats and hear the driver asking Allan Wong to translate. He refused. After a couple of day, the bus was a mess. At this time the guide announces the same information and I yelled out, ” Translate” and he finally did. It was not the 9 English speaking travelers that were making the mess, it was the others.

The tour guide would speak very lengthy in Mandarin and short in English. More information was given to the Mandarin speaking travelers. We do understand Cantonese/English and a little Mandarin. We knew it was multi- language tour, but did not know it would be so unbalance.

The tour guide had religious comments that were not appropriate... Not everyone believes and should pray to God/Jesus for better weather. Religion and Politics should not be on the tour agenda. One person spoke up and said what if you don’t believe in God. That person believed in Buddhism. That person was offended.

The guide had limited control on the bus. The groups of Mandarin speakers were so loud. I asked them to quiet down especially when he was speaking. I could not hear him. He moved us away from them. I finally spoke up at one point and said I can not hear you because too many people are talking. After a couple of complaints, he finally spoke to the group. I told him I would take more action if it continues.

Due to his choices, we had a very limited visit at Jackson Hole. One place I was looking forward to. We were suppose to eat lunch at Jackson Hole, but landed up at one of Yellowstone’s cafeteria. They were not expecting this tour bus. We were allocated 40 minutes for lunch and because of the bad service we did not leave for over one hour.

We were 2 hours behind as we left. We were always in a rush and would arrive at the hotels so late that most of us did not eat / ate at 9-10 pm. Most of the food concession closed at 10pm or earlier. We could not enjoy the hotel facilities/town. Some of the hotel

were very shabby. Limited hot water, sheets were worn out, and the rooms did smell.

Two hotels did not have any elevators. Thank goodness the boys were able to carry my suitcase up the stairs for me. Ramada Inn and Holiday Inn were excellent, but unable to enjoy the facilities due to late arrival and early wake up.

We had a great opportunity to tour the Mormon Temple. No such luck. According to the Seagull Tour, the sister of missionaries would give a tour of the ground, but of course this was not taken advantage of. We were there so early (8:25 am- 9:05 am) that nothing was opened. Even the visiting center was closed (opened at 9:00 am). As we left at 9:05 the sister of the missionaries were all lined up on the sidewalk welcoming the tour buses. This is one of the major attractions in SLC. What the _____!

***Important information was not given during the tour (eg. Deadwood- Midnight Saloon (Kevin Costner’s Casino/Restaurant, History of Wild Bill Hick, (Casino he played in and this is were he died) & Calamity Jane, Glenwood Springs- Doc Holiday died here, grave within walking distant as some travelers went to the hot spring (1 ½ hours), Denver- Buffalo Bill grave/museum, US Mint, Going through the Eisenhower Tunnel, Did not mention Famous ski resort- (Aspen/Vale- we drove by the slopes and town)

***Food was bad... Chinese buffets- The agents must get a kick back. BK, Subway, Wendy, Supermarket, McDonald’s, We were able to have 2-3 decent meals.

* Good- 4 breakfasts were included, except many early risers ate their share and bagged food to go. Not much for the later eaters.

*****$40.00 for 4 tours was not worth it... We did not go to one and the tour guide said he would return the $10.00 per person, but he has not. I have contact Tours4Fun. Everyone should get back their refund. That’s $50.00 for my group. WILL THEY POCKET IT? Just received a voice message from Jay from Tours4 Fun. He said we did see the Salt Lake Lake... I told him that there was no admission fee/entrance fee. We went to the bathroom and saw the lake from a pier. The tour guide told us that the museum was closed and so were the facilities. I know I will not see my $ at all. That was a ripe off.

The tour collected $40 x 58 passengers= $2, 320.00. I believe that the 4 tours would cost only about ¼ of the collection. One tour (SL Lake) was a bathroom stop/ standing on a lookout point to see the lake ( no fee/no admission).

*** One can do better on your own- Tour guides gave a very brief introduction and uses the CD for visual on the bus. At the site, he gives you 30-40 minutes for you to walk on your own and back to the bus. This tour was mainly a self guided tour. Not enough time given to see the presentations (film/rangers’ tour) and free tours at the sites.

**** The driver, Chris was excellent. He drove very well. Supplied water if needed for $1.00. Keep the bus very clean each day. He spoke to everyone. Chris stored and removed our luggage daily for us. In our opinion, he worked harder than the tour guide.

Hi Brock, are you an American or China Chinese national?
I just came back from the States and honestly my holiday was nearly ruined with the same tour operator that your company outsources tours too.

The tour operators were rude, money grubbing idiots FYI.

Tours4Fun 7-day hawaii tour package

My family just came back from the Hawaii 7-day island tour. We were very disappointed with our experience with this company and will not be using them again. When we arrived in Honolulu we discovered our tour company was actually "China Travel Service, Inc." not Tours4fun. The itinerary we were given when we arrived was mainly written in Chinese. We had to wait for another arriving flight before we could be taken to our hotel. This is not what we wanted to hear after our 8+ hours of travel time.
Our average daily tour was with non-English speaking tourists. When we were leaving our tour of Pearl Harbor we were told to hurry up and get on the bus because the inspectors were there that inspected the tour buses and the guide did not want our bus to be inspected. We wondered why this was a problem. Our itinerary was also changed without any notification to us. We were supposed to spend the night in Maui and spend the next day on the Big Island. However, we went to the Big Island first spent the night and then only spent the day on Maui. No one communicated this change to us. Our itinerary even had flight numbers for the flights we were suppose to take. Once we were at The Big Island our tour guide informed us she would do her best to translate her tour to English but she would be speaking in Chinese. While on the bus traveling we felt like we were missing many sites because nothing was communicated to us or we were told about a site after we had already passed it. She also indicated that our next day in Maui would be difficult because the person there did not speak much English and we should try to find a Chinese person in our group to help translate. (At this point in the tour we were the only English-speaking people in our group) When we arrived at Maui the first thing the guide said to us was "you speak English?" we said yes and he said, "You know this is a Chinese tour?" He informed us he would speak only in Chinese while on the bus and would try to translate some things once we reached our destination. At this point we were furious and contacted the customer service department at Tour4fun. We were told all they could do is contact our guide and ask him to speak more English. We indicated this was not the tour we had paid for and all she could offer was they would try and contact the guide. We explained we had booked our tour through Tours4fun not "China Travel Service, Inc.". She would not address this. After the phone call, the guides asked us "Why did you even book this trip?" We told him we booked through Tours4fun not China Travel Service, Inc. He said "Oh, you booked through email." After this he did not speak English to us. He did accommodate us for lunch and dropped us off at a McDonald's when we told him we did not want to eat at a Chinese buffet again. The whole time we were at Maui we had no idea what was going on. The bus dropped us off at the beach and it was not until we were out and away from the bus that we realized we were at the beach! (There is a mall you have to walk through to reach the beach)
While in Honolulu we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We were encouraged by our guide to split from our group since the center was in English and our group would be going with a translator.
This tour is not designed to accommodate English-speaking tourist even though it is advertised that they do. Do not book your trip through this company if you cannot speak Chinese. The guides were very aggressive at the end of the day making sure they received their tips. However, the tipping guidelines were printed in Chinese on our itinerary. We were told by the guides we were required to tip $2 per person for any travel to or from the airport and $5 per person for a daily tour. The $5 per person is an insult when no English is spoken! This is not the trip I had planned with my daughter and grandson.

Worst Tour Ever

My family of 5 signed on for the 7 day Yellowstone/Mt. Rushmore Tour from Denver, Colorado ( Tours4Fun). The day before we were told that we would join another tour group (Seagull). The meeting place at the airport was changed 3 times. It was confusing. We arrived before 11:30am as stated in the itinerary or else miss the city tour. We left at 12:45pm. Tours4Fun bad tour

Just got back from a Tours4Fun 4 day-3 night tour of Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole, and the Grand Tetons.

Our tour turned out to be a 3 night 2 day stint. We arrived at our designated hotel on 6/2/2011. The hotel did know about our reservation but little else. We waited until 7 p.m. to hear from out tour guide. Nothing - so I called the tour office. They told us that our tour would start at 7 a.m.

We went to bed as we had a very early flight from Chicago that day. At 9:45 p.m. we heard someone trying to get into our room. They were trying the hotel key card - and it worked! The only reason they could not get in is because we had the inside latch in place. The intruders were forcing the door - it was very frightening! The intruders were talking Chinese very loudly and trying very hard to force the door open. My husband got up out of bed and said, "What do you want?" The person forcing the door - said "sorry."

We went back to sleep only to be wakened up again by the phone at almost 11 p.m. It was the tour guide - he said our tour would start at 5:45 a.m. I said, "5:45 a.m"? - He said - Yes. So I did go to the lobby expecting the tour guide to be there at 5:45 a.m. - He was not. So, my husband and I went to the hotel continental breakfast. We asked for the tour guide - we were told his name was Kevin. I asked him why he was not in the hotel lobby at 5:45 a.m. - he said that was only the wake up call - I said that was not what he told me on the phone. I also told him I was very upset that someone tried to get into our room and frightened us. He said that was him and he was sorry that the hotel had mixed up the keys for that night. I asked him at that time for our money back - he said he could not do that. I said - OK we will go on the tour but I told him we were very upset at how the tour was started. Kevin talked with a very heavy Chinese accent - difficult to understand! We boarded the bus - there was 6 Americans - all the rest were Chinese people talking Chinese very loudly.

We started the day - got to a gas station at around 10:30 a.m. where we were told to buy something to eat - there was a one stall ladies bathroom - it took 45 minutes for all the ladies to get to the bathroom. Next was the "Jackson Hole" stop. We had 45 minutes for the stop - the same as for our disastrous bathroom break. Luckily we did by a piece of pizza at the gas station - because there was not another stop for food until 9 p.m. We were told at 9 p.m. to walk to a grocery store nearby to buy something for breakfast because there would not be anything - not even coffee! Well we tried to look for the store but it was at least 4 blocks away - we did not go but instead walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner - we were starving!

The hotel for that night, "The Yellowstone Inn", was a dump, There was no hot water for showering and the bed spreads smelled strongly of "RAID". Pretty scary huh?

So off on the bus with no coffee - no breakfast. We got a hot dog at Yellowstone to eat for lunch. Next was a dinner break at a Chinese restaurant. That was a stampede to the buffet table. Those Chinese people were polite until it came to eating - then watch out...there was no plates - no food until the stampede was over - then we did get something to eat when they were done.

We headed back to Salt Lake City to the same hotel that the keys were mixed up after another 45 minute bathroom break at Idaho Falls - you guessed it - only a one stall ladies bathroom - and very dirty.

We told the tour guide that we would not be going in the morning to Salt Lake City - we were done. Kevin still asked for his tip - $56.00 for him and the driver. We gave the tip but now that I am writing this narrative - why in the world did we give him the tip? He was definitely running the tour on the cheap - and we were not happy!

We have gone on many escorted bus trips - this was by far the worst. We will not be going on any more bus tours - especially with Tour4Fun... I am still asking for my money back and will continue to write bad reviews until I have some restitution.

It happened exactly the same way to my group, we were a group of nine people on the 4 day Yellow Stone tour from Sept. 6 to 9. It was a four-day trip, which we got only two-and-half day service from Kevin, who forced each of us to give him tips for the four days, and even worse -- commented our group was a bunch of "dump dump" in Chinese to another young Chinese tour guide, who was an experienced and knowleable tour guide, explaining as much as possible patiently from attraction to attraction. Which we had none at all.
I'll ask the same question to Kevin: What the hell did we pay for? Is it a robbery by rules? We want our money for 1.5 days, which equals ten dollars per person. We had nine people in our group, so that is 9x10=90.

Tours4Fun misrepresentation

I have recently returned from a six day East Coast Tour organised by Tours4Fun. This company, operating out of a shabby office in New York's Chinatown, is not to be recommended to occidental people wishing to enjoy an informative and well run package tour. I arrived at Newark airport and was kept waiting for 1 hour before one of T4F staff turned up. I was then taken to Chinatown, where my suitcase was deposited, and then left to wander the streets of New York for 8 hours, until the coach was available to take me to the hotel. The coach a second rate vehicle, in keeping with a shoestring company, had no toilet, and this despite undertaking journey of over 7 hours in length. The couriers, all of whom were Chinese, and claimed to be bilingual, spoke in broken English with very poor pronunciation. This holiday was geared exclusively for Chinese visitors and yet T4F billed it as suitable for people of other nationalities; on my particularly tour there were just 2 non- Chinese. The attitude of the guides left a great deal to be desired. On one occasion the party was taken to a Chinese Restaurant and the only alternative option was across the street. The weather on this particular day was heavy rain; and when I asked if it were possible for the coach driver to take me and a friend to the cafe across the road we were told no. My advice for anyone wishing to explore regions of the USA is find a reputable American tour operator. Beware of companies like T4F that are operated by Chinese. The problem is the website sounds plausible; the English is good, as is the e-mail correspondence; so it is very important to do your homework - I didn't!

Well, Brock (or Benson (Chan?), whatever your name is), while I understand there are more than 1.4 billion mainland Chinese and even more Mandarin speakers from ethnic Chinese community outside mainland China, the tour is NOT geared toward international tourists, but Chinese tourists, and International does not equal Chinese.

Coming from Indonesia (a non-Chinese speaking country, by the way), I was very much left out, and the tip should partially go to my wife (speaks Chinese), who translates the guide for most of the time. There are also people from other countries too, including Malaysia (both speak hokkien and english, but not mandarin, so she faced similar problems), Fiji, Australia, and Korea, all of which had the same complaint. And I don't think not providing warning for people with dietary restrictions (including religious ones like halal, kosher. etc.) is not in line with the spirit of being "international" - all while taking the tour to Chinese restaurants serving pork.

So, think about this public statement of "not discriminate(ing) against any demographic" on your statement.

Dear John Cabot

First and foremost we would like to apologize for any inconvenience or displeasure that you have experienced on your tour. Just to clarify a couple of things: please note that Tours4fun is a travel agent, not a tour operator.

The tour does not guarantee a restroom on all the tour coaches used. Only a small number of coaches are not equipped with this amenity. Unfortunately this was the case for your transfer coach.

We do apologize that you had to wait for your transfer. Did you attempt to contact us or the emergency contact noted on your E-ticket? Our information as well as the tour operator information is noted on your E-ticket so that you can contact us in case of any problems, such as this.

The tour that you had booked was a bilingual tour geared towards international travelers. Of course we cannot control who books our tours as we do not discriminate against any demographic. Regarding the tour guide, we do apologize that he was not up to par according to your standards. If you can provide the tour guide's name and your order number, we will be happy to look into this for you.

Regarding meals arrangements, the tour guide will usually pick a place that offers a variety of options for the group. If any particular option is not suitable for you, you are welcome to make your own arrangements. Unfortunately, the coach driver cannot make special arrangement to drive you to another location, since that is his designated meal time as well.

Tours4fun does offer a variety of tours, including bilingual international tours and English- only tours. You are notified about operating languages and you are welcome to give us a call for tour inquiries. Our customer service staff will be happy to take your inquiries and clarify any of you concerns. Again, we do apologize that you were not satisfied with your tour, and we hope that this email has clarified some of your concerns.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your tour experience. We will take them into account to ensure the quality of this tour in the future.

Best Regards
Brock

Tours4Fun non disclosure of information

My wife & I booked a 3 day Vagas/ Grand Canon tour with tours4fun last week paying all the money up front as they requested. When the company emailed the confirmation they informed us we were booked on an asian tour & gave us other tour options we could do if this tour did not suit but they were all different dates & places which we could not go on. We rang tours4fun to request our money back & were told that was not possible due to us booking inside their refund date but they would cancel the booking & keep our $300.00 if we didn't want to go, so go we did.
We arrived & boarded the America Asia tour bus after being reasured bu tours4fun that each tour has at least 30% english speaking people on them to find we were the only ones with english as a first language & 2 of 4 that spoke english.
The bus didn't stop anywhere the tour company was not getting a kick back including food stops so we ate asian food nearly every stop (including breakfast) & were not encouraged to eat anywhere else.
The night tour of Vagas was very good but was an extra but the accommodation had no coffee making facilities. The Grand Canon Resort Ranch had no water presure, tv, mobile phone coverage or internet which would have been no problem except we were not told & the food left a lot to be desired which we had to pay $89 each for with no choice if you wanted to eat. (I don't think the cowboys had never seen a cow) The tour guide did give his commentary in English, Chinese & Thai but he appeared to be telling funny stories to the asian people as they often laughed (maybe at our expense)
The tour would be great for the people it was aimed at & we would not have had a problem with tours4fun if they had put on their web site something about them booking people on asian tours but to tell you after they have taken your money & not refund it is very unprofessional & we would never book with them again.

Avoid like the plague America Asia Travel Center, Inc., and Jimmy Chen's IvyMedia doing business as GoToBus.com. They work together hand-in-hand in fleecing bus tour passengers. They slash the prices to attract you and get your business, and then tack on hidden fees while you are on board the bus. GoToBus.com states on its web site that certain activities are "Optional, " yet when you are on the bus you are told by the America Asia tour guide that the $35 fee is "Mandatory, " and that some travel agents fail to inform customers of such. You are then captive; you have no choice but to stay on the bus and go with all of the passengers to those activities since you cannot be left behind. Those activities will also be your restroom breaks since the restroom on the bus is kept locked.

I agree wholeheartedly with another customer who, like me, also ended up on an America Asia bus for a tour that included Yellowstone National Park. That customer’s review on the Internet states that when you are on an America Asia tour bus, "gratuity means a must, not a sign of gratitude. More extra fees will be collected in the bus, though the brochure mentions those fees could be optional, only for those who want to participate in certain events. Those extra fees are not optional, they are also a must."

The America Asia tour guide on the bus I was on was Charles and the driver was Rafael. Charles gave preemptive lectures on the subjects of tipping and on the mandatory activities fees. During those lectures he ironically told about a tour in which customers were robbed on board by underage passengers on a bus going to Las Vegas. Charles really was no different than those robbers. On the fifth day of a seven-day tour, he gave his lectures and stated that "TIPS" stands for "to improve personal service." Customers will continue to remain at his mercy for the remainder of the trip; service can be expected to be in proportion to the tips given. He then came to each of us asking for a minimum of $4 a day for himself and $3 a day for Rafael; he then put the tips for himself in a white envelope, and the tips for Rafael in another white envelope.

The three activities listed as "Optional" for a fee of $35 by GoToBus.com on the tour I went on were Great Salt Lake, Bingham Copper Mine and Bear World, all of which have admission fees information on their web sites. For Great Salt Lake marina, which is where our bus parked, the entrance fee is $2, but no one was there to collect any fee. The Bingham Copper Mine charges a tour bus $50 (which is tax deductible), so that would be a little less than $1 for each of the 55 passengers on the bus, but again no payment of fees was observed. Bear World charges $15.95 for adults and $14.95 for seniors, with a "maximum car load rate" of $55, but "great rates for motor coach tours, " so even if it charged $100 (twice as much as the copper mine) that would be a little less than $2 for each passenger. The maximum three admission fees per person would then be $2, $1 and $2, for a total of $5, not the $35 cash collected from each of us.

The America Asia tour guide did not provide any receipts to passengers for collecting the $35 in cash from each of us. He also did not provide receipts for the tips he extracted from us. America Asia and its tour guides and drivers are collecting large sums of cash from busloads of passengers. Most of the passengers on my bus were from China and Taiwan, and many of them did not speak English, so they were even more dependent on the tour guide, who was bilingual and spoke mostly in Mandarin for them during the tour.

My daughter and I did the 2 day Niagara Falls from New York in January 2012. I have to admit the bus was full of chinese tourist. Ken our guide was pretty good considering he made up the itinery up as we went. We had no idea where we would end up. The bus was absolutely filthy. The floor had not been cleaned for years. Windows were also filthy could not see out. Reading lights were not working. TV was not working. Its true, every meal is Chinese. I love chinese food but a just can't eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner. So we had to go find other food. Tour was very rushed. Half hour at Hershey, one hour at Corning then 15 minutes night viewing of the falls then 1 1/2 hours the next day at Niagara Falls. Having said all that the price was amazing.

Thanks to all who posted their 'real life' experience with this company. you saved us thousands of dollars as we were all gonna book with this company - over 7 large families becuase of the low advertised rates. Phew that was a close shave...
thanks again, and Tours4fun, well i'd close up if I were you unless you wanna face a lenghthy law suit or better still give refunds to those that were duped into believing you were the 'real deal'...not a 'real steal'

Why dosn't the law prevent this sort of misguided advertising...

Tours4Fun horrible tour

BEWARE ! Don't get fooled by the slightly lower tour rates from this company. They never advertise any negative comments from the customers on their website. I sent them a comment after my tour, and they never posted it. I also know someone (one of the customers on the tour I had who was also very disappointed like me)who submitted an unfavorable comment about the company), and they never published that comment on their website too. So we know for a fact that they are just choosing the good comments from the customers to make their company appear attractive, well in fact it's the opposite. First, the tour is from Chinatown (95% of the passenger are chinese), tour guides & drivers are all chinese. And they all have their private jokes during the tour, which only chinese people could understand, so anyone else from another culture will be left outcast. Another thing is the hotel. Some people were dropped off at a luxury Hyatt Hotel, while the ones who booked from tours4fun were sent to an Inn (Extended Stay Inn)- which was filthy!- Me & my husband changed room 3x, and coffee maker 3x (which at the end we still couldn't use coz it was full of grime & sticky from old coffee residue), the toilet was out-of-this world filthy- black mold/grime all around the toilet seat. (I even had photos- which I sent along with my review to tours4fun website, but they never published it). When we complained to the guides about the hotel, they told us that we cannot stay in Hyatt coz we (tours4fun customers) paid less than the others (this tour company is not directly owned by tours4fun- it's operated by L&L travel agency in Chinatown, so customers are coming from other website agents as well). Another thing, those people who got the better hotel, also got the better seats in the bus (the entire tour). All tours4fun customers were given seats at the back rows only! The worst part is, because we had the tour in winter, the windows in the bus (from the third row down) gets very moist & foggy, and we couldn't see anything outside- as in zero visibility. And when we told the driver to at least put the aircondition/fan on to remove the moisture from the windows, he refused saying the passengers in sitting front are feeling cold (yes, the same passengers who got the best hotel & the beast seats!). So the entire tour all passengers sitting from the third row down to the back weren't able to see anything outside- we just had to listen to the tour guide explaining/pointing to the places outside- which only he & the first 2 rows passengers could see. There were at least 5 chinese tour guides in the bus, but none of them cared to check if the passengers at the back of the bus are doing okay or comfortable. The bus was too stuffy, no windows to open, no vents, no aircondition, no air.Totally suffocating (you have to breathe the same air the other passengers were exhaling for the entire journey). And to top it all off, the guides collect the tips (mandatory!) even before you enter New York City on the way back. They collect passenger by passenger, seat by seat. Me & my husband ended up paying $24 tips for the 2 day tour. If you give even $1 less tip from their rate, they will not let you go & even embarrass you in front of the other passengers (I've seen them do it to another couple).
Now you've been warned! If you want to enjoy your once in a lifetime tour, DO NOT GET IT FROM THIS COMPANY (and if other companies offer pick up from 87 Bowery St/Chinatown)- just avoid it. It's probably the same tour agency that will operate the tour. You may be able to save a few bucks from this company-tours4fun, but I assure you, you will have the WORST TOUR ever if you get it from them! Better spend a few bucks more on a tour you will enjoy & have good memories of. Good luck!

Worth tour company I've ever dealt with!
So disapointed I've wasted my vacation time and money using this company, total farce from start to finish! Badly organised, wrong information constantly and had to leave early due to the fact they are not sticking to the return times of the tour so we can meet airport flight times. Never again, worst company ever

I also took a 3 day tour with them. I complained directly to the bus company and they told me that the tour guides get PAID in TIPS. This is the reason why they are so fixated in getting them oh and the "OPTIONAL TOURS' that they offer are more expensive because the tour guides ALSO make money off of those too. I also figured out that at the chinese restaurants that they took us to they get kick downs from the restaurants! Oh and don't ask them for your money back because hell will freeze over before that happens. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND GO ON YOUR OWN ROAD TRIP! I WISH I HAD BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS BUT I DIDN'T AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. DON'T BE CHEAP IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A TOUR YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Completely agree.
We travel a lot and were excited to take the NY-Niagara Falls-DC bus tour because it promised to be a great trip at an affordable price - the decision we regretted on the very first day. It started with our bus being late for 40 minutes with the rest of the day schedule (visit to Thousand Islands and stay at Holiday Inn) pushed back respectively: instead of arriving to the hotel by 9PM, we got there past 11PM with little time left to rest because the bus departed for Niagara Falls at 7AM next morning. No time for breakfast here.
On our way from Niagara Falls to DC, the bus broke twice and we had to wait for about an hour each time. As a result, we arrived in Frederick, MD (where we stayed overnight) at almost midnight leaving us with practically NO time for dinner and proper rest as the bus departed to DC at 7AM. Everybody was tired and feeling measurable already. When we tried to contact the agency, nobody would pick up the phone. We left 2 voice messages -NO ONE CALLED US BACK.
On top of the poor organization of the trip, the guide was completely unprofessional. During this kind of tours you'd usually get a lot of historical and factual information about the places you'd visit. NOT THIS TRIP though: the only information we received from our guide was a ridiculous story about how "Maryland and New Jersey (what?) agreed to separate part of their territories to form Washington, DC" (?). The whole trip he was basically completely preoccupied with collecting his service tips instead of actually educating his travelers. DC is famous for the world class Smithsonian museums (Art, Natural History, Air and Space to name a few) and all of them are free. And yet, they took us to a wax museum (one of only few paid DC museums and one of the worst among all Madame Tussauds' that are out there).
The whole thing seems like a nightmare to us now: everything was being rushed and forced. Overall, it was a complete waste of our precious vacation time and is not worth the money. By the end of the trip, we were feeling like we had been running an endless marathon for 3 days. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
In conclusion:
1. Even if you like bus tours with your friends and family, DO NOT TAKE THIS ONE: you will be so tired you won't even have time to enjoy your company.
2. It is an scam with the sole purpose of making as much money as possible out of unsuspecting tourists (most of the travelers were tourists from Asian countries) WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY DECENT SERVICE in exchange.
3. If, for some reason, you do decide to take the tour (which we do not recommend though), READ THE FINE PRINT: The listed price will only be half of what you'll actually end up paying. You will need to include admission fees to all sites that you'll be visiting + service tips (per passenger/per day) to the guide and the driver.

Tours4Fun itinerary

Yes, we also were surrounded by Chinese nationals and tour guide, although we found our tour guide to be especially delightful. We weren't on the tour to make friends, but it was a rather lonely experience. The worst part of the tour was threefold: First of all, the itinerary failed to mention that on the last day of the tour, we would not be in Boston until after 8:00 pm. Therefore, we were unable to meet our 3:00 flight except by dropping out of the tour on the last day and booking an about $600 flight (for two) from Buffalo to Boston. That about knocked the wind out of our sails. Secondly, almost all of the hotels (although very nice) were at airports, disallowing any kind of getting a flavor of the "town" in which we landed, but after putting in a 14-15 hour day, we were exhausted beyond reason anyhow. Thirdly, the meals were mostly buffets or McDonald's with no oppertunity to visit a grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy, or any kind of store beyond a few spare minutes at Times Square (which was disappointingly brief-about an hour). So, time for a few momentos, but that is about it. People might need to buy a pack of cigarettes, or candy bar, perhaps a can of peanuts, a six pack of beer, a phone card, etc. Tourists might want to eat a Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia, visit a pub in Boston, spend more than an hour in Times Square (after traveling thousands of miles), swim in a pool, or soak in spa at hotel (if you got there before they closed, which we didn't). So, although we adored our tour guide and felt completely safe (a middle-aged woman and her teen-aged grandson), there were difficulties which were more than a little disconcerting.

Tours4Fun avoid tours4fun!

Tours4Fun
www.tours4fun.com

After booking a bus tour with TOURS4FUN well in advance, my wife and I flew to Salt Lake City and registered at the motel designated by Seagull/C&J Express - the tour provider. When we boarded the bus the next morning imagine our surprise to learn that we were given the last two seats on a Chinese group tour for our four-day Yellowstone, Grand Teton Tour Package The tour consisted of a Chinese tour guide, a Chinese driver and a large ethnic group that spoke only in Chinese. Throughout the trip the guide regaled the group with stories (apparently funny) and landmark highlights for literally hours on end over the PA system. Occasionally , between stories, a few words would be spoken in English but the guide's heavy accent made it difficult to understand what he was imparting to us. Most of the time, well over 95%, we sat there completely perplexed.

Agreeing to the possibility of a bi-lingual tour guide had nothing to do with the fact that we were unknowingly booked on an exclusive Chinese tour (even the bus windshield card designated the trip in Chinese), that was unprepared to offer any semblance of accommodation to English-speaking passengers. The experience was unpleasant and the vacation we looked forward to ruined. There are many well qualified tour providers our there and we recommend that TOURS4FUN be avoided.

I booked a tour for a group on Tours4fun and had the same negative experience I have been reading about. Why hasn't this company taken issue with these complaints and done something about providing better service and more knowledgeable employees? Selling a product is not just providing a reasonable price it is also about customer satisfaction.

Tours4fun takes advantage of tourists that do not speak or read English. It is a shame because these tourists trust these "tour guides" that speak "their" language. They blatantly rip them off of their hard eared money and take advantage the trust that they have for them. They should all hang their heads in shame, especially the tour guides. They are knowingly robbing and taking advantage of hard working people who bestow all of their trust in them. I don't know how they sleep at night. I wonder if their parents would be proud of them.

Two couples booked the Tours4Fun 7-Day Canadian Rocky & Victoria Summer Tour Package. Never again will we use Tours4Fun. Unknown to us, the tour was out-sourced to a Chinese tour company. The tour guide was Chinese. The tour narration was in Mandarin and very very broken English (we could understand very little). The tour was advertised as bilingual...it was not. All meal stops were at Chinese restaurants with very limited or no dining options available. The Vancouver area hotels were actually in Richmond, BC (little China). At our last hotel, there was no place to have dinner, except at a Chinese grocery store. The hi-light of our 4th day in the Rockies was a stop at a ginseng factory. The tour bus was old with rattling windows. The tour guide would not let us use the restroom in the bus...rest stops were about 2 hours apart. The mini-tour of Vancouver was a joke...consisted of a drive through Stanley Park with a 15 min. stop at the totem poles. The tour guides over-charged on gratuities (not optional).
Tours4Fun's failure to fully disclose all aspects of the tour on their website constitutes 'false advertising'. Do not use them; you will not know what you are buying. Very bad experience.

It is totally unacceptable to click yourself, then asked about a GUEST and finally children number. In fact, the person making the reservation is a GUEST( Can you believe this?!?), And children are treated as adults.

Using Tours4Fun was the worst experience I've ever had and I will never use them again. I'm African American and there were only 4 of us on the tour. Four were Hispanic and the rest all Chinese. When I complained, the company had the nerve to say I probably booked the Chinese tour by mistake. HECK NO I DIDN'T! The company threw me and my fiance on this tour to probably save money on getting out another bus. We were in the back of the bus surrounded by Mandarin speaking Chinese people who mostly had colds and sneezed and coughed the entire trip. The woman in back of me never covered her mouth when she coughed and I kept turning around staring at her hoping she got the message, but she never did. The coughing continued the entire tour. I asked the tour guide "Dragon" (who smoked like a chimney) at a rest stop if he could politely to tell her to cover her mouth and he replied that, "I'm not a baby sitter!" I knew this but I didn't hear this woman speak any English so I couldn't communicate with her.

Most of the places we stopped for lunch for Asian-themed. The first hotel had an old tub that looked like it has seen its last days. I called the front desk and they said it was clean it's just "old." Bomber! The second hotel was pretty nice but the bathroom could have been more updated. The furniture was old and outdated, but clean. The mandatory $8 dollars a day for the guide was total crap. What? Don't these guys get paid by the company? Can you imagine how much these guides made in mandatory tips per bus? Do the math. For a three day tour 24 x 8 = 192 mandatory tip. Some of the sites weren't worth the money we paid. My first and LAST tour with these guys!

7-Day New York City, Washington, D.C., Niagara Falls & Boston In-Depth Tour (NOT RECOMMENDED)
To whom it may concern,
My wife and I went on the ‘7-Day New York City, Washington, D.C., Niagara Falls & Boston In-Depth Tour’, as we had previous good experience with the agency. However, this tour was a disaster.
First of all, when we arrived at the airport, we had to wait for four and a half hours before we were transported to our hotel, where we arrived at 7:30 PM, as we got stuck in the rush hour. Due to this, we missed the exclusive New York Night Tour, which we were looking forward to see.
The bus which we travelled with in the next several days, was very old, uncomfortable and the roof was leaking when it rained – a complete ruin if you ask me. On our Philadelphia visit, we spent too much time in a little Amish village and had no chance to see the city properly. Also, the Amish tour reminded me of a safari hunt, as our guide was laughing and pointing fingers at the people there. It was extremely rude and unpleasant. The same goes for our Boston tour, which was only by bus, not much different than seeing the city in a picture.
We also had a very bad experience with the driver (I think his name was Chang or Chan), who slammed the door in front of us when it started pouring down with rain (he did this to another family from India), so we got completely wet. The other driver that took over the bus on our way back left us far from our bus station, making us carry our heavy suitcases (and we’re both over 50).
Our guide Cindy was quite unhelpful and impolite as well. When we asked for instructions, or advice, she wouldn’t give any and she changed the program to what suited her the best. For instance, there was a lobster dinner in Boston planned, but she switched that to a lunch the day after, which turned out to be more of a breakfast (11 AM). When we complained about the timing, she told us that maybe in our country lunch is later, but in the US it was early, which is a complete lie (i.e. they serve the breakfast menu at the US McDonalds until 11 AM). Once, she also left us waiting at the meeting point even though we arrived three minutes before the agreed time, so we had to phone her (expensive roaming), so she’d return to collect us.
Finally, the tip was obligatory, which I found absurd. In every normal country, the tip is optional if one is satisfied by the service provided. There were 51 passengers, for 7 days and with $8 per day per passenger, which equaled to $2856 in total. As this is all paid in cash and no receipt is provided, I think this raises a question for the US authorities and tax collectors, which I also might refer to.
All in all, I would NOT recommend this tour to anybody. If I had to rate this tour, my mark would be 0 (zero), because of everything I mentioned above. There are a lot of additional remarks I didn’t mention here, but the list could just go on. I will probably not use the services of this agency anymore.
