Medical Information
I have a form letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA c/o Blue Cross blue Shield asking me to go to their website and click on "Respond on Line". They want to find out who is responsible for the cost of injuries or illnesses caused by another person. They have the date of service was 10/2015 and note a Orthopedics practice. They need to be stopped. It sounds like a scam so I am sending the notice to the Attorney Generals office along with a consumer complaint form and I will send one to the governors office and any other state agency I think might address this.
Letter
How can they prove they sent any letters by regular mail? This is like Phishing on the internet hoping for a response. My 3rd letter? prove it. If I am required by my insurance company, why isn't my insurance company asking?

My husband just recieved a letter from them asking about a accident from April 2003...What the hell, 12 years later? He never had an accident. I am not calling them but am sending them a letter that he never had an accident and to cease and desist any further contact
I received a letter from them. My appointment was just for a health checkup. I will not be answering the letter. This is very annoying.
Just called Blue Cross, was told to ignore the letter, the agent told me this trover solutions outfit does not work for them.
Sounds fishy tome too when I called they wouldnt tell me much but asked a lot of questions. Told them no third party involved and that's all you are getting, hung up on em'.
I have just received my first letter, I immediately contacted Kaiser to find out whether this is legit or not it feels like a phishing scam.
Agree. Got the same letter- am now on the '2nd attempt'. How did this b#%*^it company get my personal info?!
Fraud to obtain medical information
In Feb. 2012, recieved inquiry letter from above listed company, with fake signature of one Cheri Hall, stating that they needed "detailed" information to determine if another party was responsible for the medical treatment provided by my physician, on the day in question. Please note that visit was only a "routine" with my physician of over 30 years. Went on-line, answered some very "generic" questions; however about 1 week later, call and message came from someone named "Amy" at [protected] stating that she needed "more information" regarding my doctor's visit. Called my health insurer, and they informed me that they DO NOT hire any third party to ask about anything regarding doctor's visits, and that they did NOT know about this company! Immediately filed a formal complaint with my health insurer for full investigation on this matter and this company! Do not give this or any company any kind of info on yourself or family members, and immediately contact your health care insurer regarding possible fraud practices! Legitimate insurance companies do not have to hire third-party "contractors" to get medical information on their subscribers, that they already have!
JUST AN FYI... THE #2 MAN AT HEALTHCARE RECOVERIES, THEIR CFO, IS ALSO THE SAME GUY WHO IS THE HEAD OF THEIR IN-HOUSE LAW FIRM KNOWN AS GIBSON & SHARPS. HIS NAME IS DOUGLAS SHARPS.

Insurance scammers
I received a letter from someone named Cheri Hill from a company called Healthcare Recoveries, Inc.
I looked at the letter closely and noticed that it looked like a mass produced form letter, and it had a fake signature on it.
The letter told me that Healthcare Recoveries Inc. needed my insurance information, including my membership ID number. They had a toll free number listed that the letter said I was supposed to call.
The letter looked fishy so I did some online research. The company’s real name is not Healthcare Recoveries Inc., it is Trevor Solutions and the only Cheri Hill I found works for a totally different company.
There was no reason for Healthcare Recoveries Inc. to be contacting me for my insurance membership ID number. My insurance company already has that information, as do all of my providers. I believe this was a scam to get my insurance information and possibly other pertinent details.
The bottom line: insurance companies don’t hire places like Healthcare Recoveries Inc. to contact consumers to get data they already have. If you were contacted by Healthcare Recoveries Inc., throw the letter away. Don’t give them any of your personal information.
Healthcare Recoveries sent me a letter stating I owed them 9, 112.22. Healthcare Recoveries stated they worked for Kaiser Foundation here in Santa Clara California.
I called Kaiser and asked about my account with the, i.e., any billing issues. Kaiser told me specifically that, "we have never sent any of your charges to collection and we do not know of a company called Healthcare Recoveries. Healthcare Recoveries letters further states, "please remember to make the check payable to Healthcare Recoveries in the amount of $9, 112.22.

This company is a scam and they are collecting funds not do them. In fact, it appears they are obtaining statements from whomever Kaiser uses to crunch their numbers.
Call the district attorney in you home town.
letters received
The most important thing to remember about Healthcare Recoveries/Trover Solutions is that you simply don't have to answer their letters. Simply throw them away. They will likely send you a series of letters insisting that you call, and implying that you have an obligation to do so. Some of their letters may even go further and "hint" of dire consequences if you don't cooperate. Again, simply throw them away and do not call. At some point they may even CALL YOU, and if this should happen, simply hang up. The less you tell them, the better. HRI generally does not have access to your medical records, so therefore, they will have a hard time determining what treatment [you've received] is actually related to the current accident claim. Keep in mind that even if you don't agree to cooperate, they can, and will (if they choose to) find out if you have a claim (there is a nationwide index that tracks all claims, but it is expensive and Healthcare Recoveries doesn't like to spend the money... usually) and will try to interject themselves into your claim by placing a "lien" on your recovery. A lot of injury attorneys will try to resist this, and you should tell the insurance carrier (that you've filed a claim against) that any cooperation with Healthcare Recoveries is a "deal breaker". Most adjusters will resist HRI's efforts too.
IF you feel compelled, or obligated to pay, simply send them $10- $25 a month to pay it off... depending on the size of your claim, this could take years and will drive the examiner, working your file, crazy. They may tell you they cant accept that amount or insist on a larger monthly paymebt, but don't give in... just mail that amount in anyway... they'll accept it. Do this for a month or two, stop, and wait for a new round of letters and send in another $10 - $25 monthly payment... and so on. They will have to keep that file open for “years” and will likely even give up on it at some point.

My son DIED ON THE OPERATING TABLE! How insensitive of them to send me a letter addresses to my deceased son! Do some research!
Blue Cross Blue Shield Don't Acknowledge you.
What a bunch of ambulance chasers.
I have submitted a complete and detailed report to my PCP during my appointment. My PCP turn sent me to the hospital where again I submitted a complete and detailed intimate report to the technician upon admittance to the hospital.
Both of these agents submitted a complete and detailed reports to BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD. These reports contained NO ACCIDENT INFORMATION OR REPORTS BECAUSE "I WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT" SO WHY IN THE H_LL do I need to send even more information to some agency that I know nothing about and that BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD refuses to acknowledge. I have sent 5 emails to my BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD provider through the website that I have to log into with my account number. THEY HAVE NOT ACKNOWLEDGED YOU www.troversolutions.com so that tells me you are a FRAUD.
Possible Identity Theft Scam
I too received the same intrusive letter. What they don't make clear is exactly who wants this information, nor do they explain in human terms anyone can understand, why they want it. Of course we're afraid of giving out our personal medical information, out of the blue, to some company who doesn't truthfully identify themselves. I refuse to respond to...
