Medical discrimination
Trustaff is a horrible company. I signed a 13 week nursing contract with them only to lose the job before I even started. These people not only humiliated me but also brought my reputation into question. Now this is my story, I resigned the job I had for 3 years to take on a travel assignment with this company. After I signed a contract with them/trustaff and did all the onboarding requirements. I realized I hadn't received the first day instruction for the new job, which was supposed to start 2 days from then. I called the onboarding person to enquire about this. That's when I found out that my medical and drug test was still outstanding. Not withstanding I had submitted my medical one week prior to this. Two weeks past my start date the drug screen result was still outstanding. I never thought twice about it only that it might be a delay due to COVID backlog, only for the test to come back invalid due to a high Ph. The MRO contacted me and asked if I was taking any medication or had any UTI or Kidney Stones because this could have been the reason, he also said it could be that I might have drank too much water before the test because people who take drugs might try to flush their system to hide it. I told him I've never taken any illicit drugs neither do I drink alcohol. Anyhow he recommended that I retake the test which I did the following day. A few days after I redid the drug screen I decided to see the doctor to see if everything was ok with my kidneys due to the high PH. I did a BMP, urinalysis and urine culture, the BMP and urinalysis confirmed that I had kidney stones and an AKI because my eGFR was low. It also revealed that I had microscopic blood in the urine. This explained why my Ph was high because I was having an Aki. I sent the results to the recruiter and two more employees from trustaff to validate the Invalid drug test as I was having a medical issue and not a drug related problem. The second drug test came back shortly after this, with the same issue of high Ph. I Explained to the MRO that I went and got checked after he spoke to me the first time. He intimidated that it makes sense and explained the High Ph I was having and that he going to release the second test with the comment "no action needed". I was relieved and excited because I had been waiting to start my assignment for the past 3 weeks but was being delayed because of the drug test. My excitement was short lived because a lady from the HR called me the following day to say that they were not going to move forward with the assignment because of the drug test, mind you I already sent the onboarding personnel my lab results, message from my FNP stating the diagnosis and also the MRO who the company pays directly or indirectly to validate results explained the different scenarios that can affect the results. As HR people that handle these testing daily they should know that not everybody is a drug taker and that there are valid reasons for issues like these. I feel like I am being discriminated against because of my medical condition. From this point it should have been their duty duty to consult with the MRO or in house medical professional to see if their is any validity between my labs and what was being reflected on the drug screen. These people are either incompetent or lazy because they made me sign a contract before I had completed the requirements to be cleared they also made me resign my job only to fall victim to their lack of professionalism and total incompetence. I have a family to provide for and I am now jobless because of these people. This is a crying shame and cuts me to the core because I've worked with Government both federal and local for many years and have never failed a drug test. I've also been a Christian since early adolescence and nothing has called into question my integrity like this small minded company.
Desired outcome: Apology
False contract agreement
I was told on 4/8, by my recruiter that a contract was made with Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg Pa. I would start on 5/7, which was a Friday. It didn't make sense, but I followed through. I completed all the hospital requirements, which included safety modules (30 of them). Trustaff schedule me for a drug-screen and PPD, of which were completed. I continue to wait for my first day instructions, which never came. My recruiter (Jackie Castellar) insisted on the contract was valid and it was not unusual not get information during starting week. I waited until the week the contract (5/3/2021), I email on Monday 5/3 and then spoke to the recruiter on 5/4 and, she still insisted that contract was valid. At that time I discontinued to connection with Trustaff. I knew then it was a game, it was fraud. I wasted 30 days preparing for assignment that false. Disappointed in the unorganized and unprofessionalism the Company showed toward an employee.
Desired outcome: Why did it happen???????
Did not receive pay for hours I worked/was contracted
I am owed money for hours worked and no one at the company will contact me. I have sent many emails and made phone calls to the "supervisor" David James who is in charge of payroll. He will no longer take call or answer emails about the money I am owed because I have reported them to the DoL. David James actually sent me an email regarding my shorted hour...

Nursing contract
Not the best for an lpn! I worked one week and left this company. The DON of the facility coerced me into taking a shift due to a call off of 30 patients on a hall I had only been oriented on for one day. I told her I was not ready and she didn't care. I had to make her get a nurse in there eventually that knew the demanding patients, I worked to hard for my license. Im also a black American in an all Trump/Pence town so l felt the racism in that small town and was quickly becoming the focus in mild dramas, and character assassination. what was most unusual is not that no one cared but liestaff. Was harassing me to go back I had to block them. The contracts for 12hr of standing work is not worth it. That stiffen is your hotel bill so your working for $13.
allied health contract
This is my first contract with them, and most definitely my last. I signed a contract for day shifts, I finished orientation and gets to the manager's office and they have a completely different schedule, all nights, signed by the account manager of Trustaff.
I'm now having to play the middleman between the hospital and my Trustaff, definitely not a position I should be in. The hospital and I came to a compromise, but I told the Trustaff that I would like appropriate compensation for this last-second change and their mess up. Unfortunately, they came back with $2 an hour more and were speaking to me as if they were doing me a favor.
Now I do not have the contract, and completely wasted my time
Contract, pay and compensation
Trustaff is a medical travel agency which contracts out nurses and other allied health professions to medical facilities for temp work/coverage assignments. There pay is low but their Per Diem is high which off sets the low pay which is probably good for their bottom line and not yours. My contract was for 13 weeks but the hospital cancelled their contract 2 weeks earlier because of being fully staffed which means I lost 2 weeks of work. They told that even though the contract ended 2 weeks earlier through now fault of my own. Remember the hospital cancelled the contract with Trustaff not me they would honor the fact that I completed my contract and would give me a 250 USD completion bonus. Well they reneged on that 2 weeks later and said I would have had to finish the 13 weeks in order for me to be paid the completion bonus. I filed for 2 weeks of unemployment in my state of residence they had the f*****g balls to say I quit my contract. Remember the hospital cancelled the contract with them not me. They are a dishonest company. When your contract ends keep your mouth shut and tell them nothing because if they don't have another job and you get a contract from a different agency and you tell them you are working with a different agency they will say you quit your job and you will lose your unemployment benefits. They are ###ing dishonest ### and I will never ever work for them again.

everything
Nothing but headaches from day one. AVOID WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. EXAMPLE: WORKED 3 HRS LESS THAN NORMALLY SCHEDULED DUE TO LOW CENSUS. WAS PAID $200+ LESS THAN NORMAL BECAUSE I WAS PLACED ON CALL BUT THEN CALLED IN TO WORK 9 HOURS. CONSTANT IGNORING OF COMMUNICATIONS. CONTRACTS THAT ARE MANIPULATED TO SERVE THEM ONLY. WOULD BE HAPPY TO TELL YOU MORE IF YOU WANT TO CONTACT ME. VERY VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE...NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN WITH THIS COMPANY. MY LIST OF ISSUES IS ENDLESS...CAN'T HARDLY WAIT TILL THE END OF MY CONTRACT SO I CAN GET SCREWED OVER ONE MORE TIME
We are very sorry you feel you had a negative experience with trustaff. During your assignment our staff worked very hard to accommodate both your challenges and continual needs. Through many circumstances we offered assistance that went above our “common practices” providing an exception to help you in your unique situations. Even in the threats of you changing travel companies, you received additional assistance. You were provided after hours cell phones numbers for 24/7 access to our team, increased compensation to assist with your extension, the opportunity for a new recruiter and even help with your flight home.
I was sorry to hear about your negative remarks, as I know these are not a “true reflection” of our company nor our services. We take pride in ourselves, the assistance we offer our travelers and the strong community we have built with our field staff. It’s unfortunate you have forgotten the numerous things we had done to help you, but we do wish you the best in your future travelers.
Sincerely,
- trustaff

I was contracted at a hospital thats staffs 60% trustaff...They turn them over like hot cakes...Its a business for the hospital and for whatever reason works...( issues? for nurses are NOONE knows where or to do anything) . Risks? Huge. The charge and heads can not do the duties that they are managing...Its your license and they will not back you just fire you at will.. and BTW ...I reported a nurse(met in orientation) stalked me had psyche issues along with blown pupils addicted to drugs and they let me go for filling out a incident report that I was asked to fill out by a Head of Department supervisor...If I said no(about filling out the report) it would have been my license...If I said yes I will fill it out I knew that would end my contract. It did...hospital has BIG issues with unstable unattended patients who code...and the ER? They lose lives that if researched had more time and if properly treated had a few years left...

Honestly, this does not sound like a complaint against the staffing company, but rather the hospital that staffs so inadequetly they use a significant amount of temporary nurses. Though, I would doubt very seriously any hospital staffs 60% temps, This number seems very much exaggerated. Unfortunately, many hospitals have fallen into the trap of understaffing theses day. Thankfully temp services are available to pick up the slack or where would we be without them. I have recently been studying nurses staffing companies for my college coursework. I have to say I am very impressed with Trustaff's growth and I find the measly few complaints here compaired to the millions of dollars they have made since 2002 speaks volumns about the type of company they are.
Bad Business
I recently took a travel position with this company and they sent me out in the boonies, to a town that was 90 minutes away from a Walmart, etc. They wanted me to stay in a run down rat trap hotel and I refused. They finally put me up in a trailer (better than nothing), but made me pay the deposit, pet deposit and anything esle that went with it. I asked...

I have worked off and on for this company the past 5 years but only locally and for per-diem jobs until this past August 2010. I had a few complaints about recruiters that were not very good, assignments not being reliable, but nothing major until I left the continental United States. They have the primary contract for the hospital on the island of St. Thomas in the USVI. This is where they have been recruiting heavily and where I went. Let me start by saying that I WILL NEVER EVER WORK FOR THIS COMPANY AGAIN. There is entirely too many things to list on this complaint but suffice it to say that if you are considering going to the USVI on a contract, please heed these warnings...(1) do not go thru tru-staff. You can go thru different companies and be sub-contracted thru tru-staff. I suggest Titan or PNS, anyone but tru-staff. (2) Make sure you have at least $2000.00 cash when you go. You need a rental car. Do not buy an "island car". You are wasting your money. It will cost you 1200.00 to get into a rental car up front and anywhere from 500.00-800.00 a month for said car after the 1200.00 up front. (3) If you are female, DO NOT TRAVEL ANYWHERE ALONE (4) The violent crime rate is high, be prepared. (5) You are not a "local". Some people are very nice and friendly, most ARE NOT. You will be taken advantage of, charged a higher fee for services and goods. Be aware of whats going on around you and to you. (6) Everything is VERY EXPENSIVE. Food, clothing, toiletries, EVERYTHING at least 3X as expensive than mainland. Be prepared.
I hope this has helped someone somewhere. This assignment IS NOT the "working vacation" it was sold to me as. It was a living nightmare because of the extremely poor service of tru-staff.

Travel nursing
DO NOT ! go with this company, they owe me money, I have worked for free for two weeks and have not gotten a check, they sent me on an assignment and never paid me. AND LEFT ME THERE ! a thousand miles from home. Then, I turned my notice in at my job to travel and the day I was to start work in another state, they canceled the assignment. They don't care, they promise and wont come threw. I am getting a suite against them, they can't continue doing this to all us nurses that have worked so hard at where we are. This ship must go down and I will see to it, if its the last thing I do in life !
I have posted comments before but am not sure why. Who reads these anyway? Certainly not anyone who has the power to intervene. Now I am trying to figure out again why my net income is less than I was quoted and am told that it is the housing costs that net me less...my housing changed when TRUSTAFF screwed up and told the housing manager that I was moving out 2 weeks before my contract was scheduled to end so they rented out my apartment requiring me to move to another, lessor apartment. Why should Ihave to pay any difference? Plus when I was quoted my rate of net pay I was told it was NET PAY---after taxes and expenses----so again, why is it less than quoted? I can't get a straight answer from anyone. Now I get an email telling me that I don't have adequate CEU's on file with them. This is the first I have heard of this and I have been with them for nearly 6 months.
Travelocity is the worst! Don't ever try to speak to a supervisor because it just won't happen. Once they have your money, they have it. They tell you that you will get so much back for a cancellation, but they are liars and thieves. Don't believe a word they say!

Trustaff contacted ME with an offer for a travel position as a coder to Guam - the offer was too good to pass up ; They send nurses on travel all the time - this was a first for "coders" . Six of us were hired and had gone through all the necessary steps to secure the position and the trip. All paperwork and immunizations per their request was done. We were in the WEEK of departure and had already RESIGNED our jobs ...when trustaff decided to tell us a "story" about a "delay" .
The week AFTER we were supposed to already be in Guam and working they CANCELED the trip completely with no explanations. THEY LEFT US UNEMPLOYED - this has been financially devastating and Trustaff would no longer answer phone calls or emails . They knew they were completely wrong and made a very small insulting offer to shut us up !
This company should not be operating - they have destroyed my life and my family right now - it is going to take months to catch up with all my bills that are now months behind.
I would like not only to warn others about this company but also would like to find others who have experienced the same by them for a joint lawsuit .. please let me know

bad business warning
I took an assignment with TRUSTAFF for a job in Dallas. I had given my two week notice at my current job and was promised employment by the TRUSTAFF recruiter.TRUSTAFF called and informed me that the job I had signed a contract for was not available. I ended up going to California instead, where they left me stranded, did not pay housing expenses, sent me a blank contract to sign for the California assignment, and in the end after I completed my assignment (since I had no choice) took my last check which was $4000.00. when I tried to contact them, they screened the calls and would not talk to me. Finally, I gave them a fake name so I could get through to someone...and guess what, they put me through to the recruiter. When I told him who I was and asked for an explanation, he hung up. If you are an RN and are wanting to travel, please, please, don't use TRUSTAFF. It was a horrible experience in which I would not want anyone to have to go through.

To reveal the true face
Watch out for this agency as you can't trust them and they will offer you fake promises. I have my own experience through them. I moved from Florida to Dallas leaving my best paying job behind just taking these guys words and ended up in an entirely new place without a job. Not only i didn't get the job i was promised, as the hospital didn't had a...
