Tutorhunt: The Solution to My Child's Struggles - A Parent's Review
I was in a bit of a pickle when my daughter's teacher informed me that she was struggling in a couple of subjects. I mean, what's a parent to do when the teacher can't make more time for their child? I tried to look for other options, but the classrooms were jam-packed and there was no way my daughter could get the attention she needed. That's when I decided to give tuition a shot.
I tried a few other sites, but they just didn't cut it for me. That's when I stumbled upon Tutorhunt. And let me tell you, they were a godsend. I found a tutor for my daughter in no time, and boy, was she happy. Her grades have improved significantly, and I couldn't be prouder.
As a mother, I want nothing but the best for my child. And Tutorhunt has definitely delivered. I would highly recommend this site to any parent who's worried about their child's schooling. Trust me, you won't regret it.
TutorHunt's New System is a Disappointment: High Fees and Low Enquiries
I am really disappointed to write this review about TutorHunt, a website that I have been using for a few years and was very happy with. However, like practically everyone else, I have had hardly any enquiries since they decided to charge 25% for every lesson. I have spoken to them about this, but they were quite adamant that most tutors were in favour of the new system. However, these reviews tell a completely different story!
I would seriously advise TutorHunt to go back to their original system where students paid ?25 for a tutor's contact details. For example, if a student was ill or had a shift change, they could simply send me a text, whereas if you are ill, it is so much more hassle to log on and send an email. It just seems like a lot of unnecessary hassle for both the tutor and the student.
I really hope that TutorHunt is taking note of these reviews, as there are so many more sites available now that offer a better service and don't charge such high fees. It's a shame, as I really enjoyed using TutorHunt in the past, but unfortunately, the new system just doesn't work for me or many other tutors.
Disappointing Changes at TutorHunt: Premium Membership, DBS Check Fees, and High Commission Cuts
I've been a tutor on TutorHunt for a good few years now and I've had some great experiences with clients and agents alike. However, I've noticed a big change in the way the site is managed over the past year or so. They've started charging tutors for a premium membership but I haven't seen any real benefits from it. I've been a popular tutor with plenty of 5-star reviews for over 20 years, but in the past year, I haven't had a single client from this site.
To make matters worse, they've started charging for a DBS check, which I paid for upfront, but I haven't received anything in return. I sent a polite complaint letter to the site weeks ago, but I haven't even received an acknowledgement from them. It's frustrating because I've always been a loyal tutor on this site, but it seems like they don't really care about their tutors anymore.
On top of all this, they're now taking a big cut from tutors' fees, which makes it much harder for clients to afford our services. It's a lose-lose situation for everyone involved. Either the client has to pay more, or the tutor has to accept less money for their hard work. It's just not fair.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with the way TutorHunt has been managed recently. It used to be a high-quality site that really cared about its tutors and clients, but now it seems like they're just in it for the money. I hope they start to listen to their tutors and make some changes soon, otherwise, I fear they'll lose a lot of good tutors and clients.
TutorHunt Review: A Total Rip-Off for Student-Tutor Matching and Lesson Fees
I gotta say, TutorHunt is not worth the ?30 they charge for student-tutor matching. It's a total rip-off! They take a whopping 25% from every lesson fee, which is just ridiculous. And get this, students aren't even allowed to pay tutors directly. Instead, they have to pay TutorHunt, who then takes their cut and transfers the rest to the tutor's bank account. What a hassle!
What really grinds my gears is that TutorHunt claims on their home page that they don't take any ongoing commission from tutors like other agencies do. But then on another page, they straight up admit that they charge the student the tutor's hourly rate plus commission, which can be anywhere from 15% to 25%. Like, what kind of scam is that?! They're just trying to make a quick buck off of hardworking students and tutors.
It's a shame, really. TutorHunt used to be a decent website when they only charged ?20 per matching student-tutor. But now, they're just robbing people blind. And don't even get me started on their outdated user interface. It hasn't changed in over 10 years! It's like they haven't invested a single penny into improving their website.
Honestly, I would avoid TutorHunt at all costs. There are plenty of other tutoring websites out there that don't try to cheat you out of your hard-earned money.
Negative Experience with TutorHunt: Unprofessional and Unreliable Tutor
I recently used TutorHunt to find a geography tutor for my daughter who was struggling with the subject. We came across Chand Patel, who advertised that she would travel to our home and charge a fee of ?10 per hour. We decided to give her a try, but unfortunately, our experience with her was not a positive one.
During the lessons, instead of making my daughter feel comfortable with the subject, Chand Patel would often laugh and make comments that made my daughter feel uncomfortable and stupid. We had about four lessons with her before she suddenly changed the terms of our agreement. She informed us that she would only be able to tutor on weekdays and that we would have to travel to her instead of her coming to us, which was not part of the original plan.
To make matters worse, Chand Patel then decided to stop tutoring my daughter altogether. I felt that this was a complete waste of the ?25 that I had paid to get her details. When I expressed my disappointment to her, she became extremely rude and defensive, insisting that no one else would charge ?10 per hour.
Overall, my experience with TutorHunt was not a positive one, and I would caution others to be careful when selecting a tutor from this website. While there may be some trustworthy and reliable tutors available, there are also those like Chand Patel who are unprofessional and unreliable. It's important to do your research and choose a tutor who is a good fit for your needs and budget.
TutorHunt Review: Disappointing Experience with Unreliable Student and Lack of Support
My experience with TutorHunt was not a good one, to say the least. I was contacted by a student who had purchased my contact details through the website. We spent a good three hours discussing the pricing and duration of the tutoring sessions, as the workload was quite heavy and the urgency was high. I had to cancel my other appointments for the day to accommodate this student.
However, when the agreed time and location came, the student did not show up. I waited for an hour, but there was no sign of him. I wanted to demand a small deposit before the meeting, but this was against TutorHunt's terms and conditions, so I didn't do it. To make matters worse, the student left a very negative and untrue feedback on my profile, which was allowed by TutorHunt. He accused me of misleading him into buying my contact details and trying to scam him for more money. This was ridiculous, as I didn't make any profit from the student, and I even lost time and money by cancelling my other appointments for him.
I filed three reports with TutorHunt regarding this matter, but unfortunately, they did not look into the case. This was very disappointing, as I expected better from a tutoring website that claims to provide a safe and reliable platform for tutors and students to connect.
In conclusion, I would not recommend TutorHunt to anyone. If you want to protect yourself and your reputation, it's better to work for a legitimate tutorial center instead.
Terrible Experience with TutorHunt: Would Not Recommend for Finding a Tutor
I recently used TutorHunt to find a tutor for programming. I was excited to find a tutor who seemed to have the skills I needed and booked a class with him. Before the lesson, I sent him an email with all the details of what I wanted to cover. However, when the lesson started, the tutor didn't follow the materials I provided and instead insisted on teaching me "real" programming. He even wanted to tutor me on a topic that was beyond my competency level at that time. I was disappointed and frustrated with his approach.
After the lesson, I sent him another email explaining what I wanted from him. He responded that it was okay, but if I wanted to learn programming, I should follow his technique. He couldn't detail any specific issues with the syllabus, and I don't think he even looked at it. He just kept meandering and waffling, insisting that his approach was better.
Despite my bad experience, I decided to give it another try and booked another lesson with the same tutor. However, it turned out to be a nightmare. We exchanged more than 10 emails, and there were so many miscommunications and misunderstandings. The whole process was compounded by TutorHunt's archaic system, which made it even more frustrating. In the end, I gave up.
To make matters worse, I had a payment issue, and I had to call the administrative office. However, I was continually given the runaround, and it took forever to resolve the issue.
In conclusion, I would not recommend TutorHunt for finding a tutor. My experience was terrible, and I wasted a lot of time and money. If you're looking for a tutor, go elsewhere.
TutorHunt's Recent Changes are Unfair to Tutors and Students Alike - A Warning to Others
I have been using TutorHunt for almost six years now, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the recent changes they have made to their terms and conditions. As a tutor, I have always enjoyed using this platform to connect with students and help them achieve their academic goals. However, TutorHunt has suddenly started charging a 25% commission on top of tutors' fees for every lesson that is taken through their platform. This has made it very difficult for both students and tutors alike.
For students, this means that every lesson they take through TutorHunt will cost them 25% more than if they went directly to the tutor. This is a huge burden, especially for those who are already struggling to make ends meet. For tutors, this means that we have to take a massive loss on our earnings or increase our prices drastically, which could lead to missing out on potential students. The only ones who seem to benefit from this change are TutorHunt themselves.
As a long-term user of the site, I have received 11 five-star reviews and have taught numerous students through them over the years. However, when I reached out to TutorHunt to ask if anything could be done for tutors like myself who are suddenly being forced to increase their prices, they were short with me and did not offer any help or apology. This is very disappointing, especially considering the amount of business I have brought them over the years.
I am extremely upset about the amount of money TutorHunt now wants to take from both tutors and students alike. It seems that they are only interested in making a profit, even if it means hurting the very people who have helped them grow their business. Unfortunately, the only thing I can do now is to complain and warn others to avoid using this site at all costs.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against using TutorHunt as a student or tutor. The recent changes they have made to their terms and conditions are unfair and have made it very difficult for both parties. If you are looking for a reliable and affordable tutoring platform, I suggest looking elsewhere.
Unreliable and Incompetent: My Experience with Tutor Rieman from TutorHunt
I recently hired a tutor named Rieman from TutorHunt to help me with my A level Economics and Maths. While Rieman had a good background in maths for GCSE, I found him to be unreliable when it came to tutoring me in A level Maths. Unfortunately, he would only cover topics once and was not willing to go over them again, even if I found a particular concept difficult to understand.
As someone who has studied Economics at A level, I can honestly say that Rieman is not competent or capable of tutoring in this subject. His approach of just reading textbooks and repeating information was not effective or helpful. Despite my telling him this, he displayed a stubborn attitude and continued with this approach. When it came to revising and doing practice papers for the edexcel syllabus, he was not willing to help me write or even structure my essays, despite my having told him that this was my weakest area. His approach of completely relying on mark schemes was not helpful either, as I believe a student is capable of doing this in their own time.
In terms of professionalism, Rieman was not punctual, often arriving late to sessions on a regular basis. When I informed him of this issue, he would agree to arrive on time, but he continued arriving late to each session. During the sessions, I found that Rieman could be very argumentative and at times used offensive language towards me. His behavior was not acceptable, and I would not recommend employing him as a tutor for your son or daughter.
TutorHunt's Declining Customer Service and Attitude Towards Tutors: A Frustrating Experience
I've been using TutorHunt for a good 8 years now, and while it's not my main source of clients, I still get a few every year. I've even been discovered by two agents through this site. However, I've noticed that TutorHunt's customer service and attitude towards tutors have been going downhill in the past couple of years.
One time, a client refused to pay for a lesson, and when I contacted TutorHunt for support, they didn't even put a strike against her account. It's frustrating when you're not getting the support you need from a platform you're paying to use. Then, they threatened to take away my verified status and asked for new references, even though I've been an active tutor for so many years.
But what really pushed me to write this review was when I received an email saying my DBS was out of date and I needed to submit a new one. I explained that my DBS has been registered on the Update Service all this time, so they just needed to adjust their records accordingly. However, they replied saying they didn't have the means to do this. I asked if they could at least reflect on my profile that I have a valid and current DBS until they fix their system, but they flat out refused to do anything about it.
I've been using the DBS Update Service for 3 years now, and the system itself is at least a year older than that. TutorHunt should have been set up to work with it long ago. It's extremely arrogant of them to suggest that an official system by which tutors maintain a valid, current, and paid for DBS certificate is somehow not worthy of TutorHunt. It's almost like they're trying to mislead clients by showing in the profiles of tutors with DBS certificates that they don't have them.
This is going to alienate experienced tutors, and clients will understandably be reluctant to approach anyone else. It's going to mislead clients into avoiding engaging the best tutors available. It's frustrating to see a platform that I've been using for so long not taking the necessary steps to ensure that their system is up to date and working properly.

Bad Experience with TutorHunt: Unqualified Tutor and Unresponsive Customer Service
I had a bad experience with TutorHunt. I found a tutor who promised to teach me everything I needed to know, but when I paid for their details, they turned out to be a bad tutor who didn't know what they were talking about. I tried to contact TutorHunt's customer service, but they were slow and unresponsive. It was frustrating to have spent my money on a tutor who didn't deliver what they promised.
I think TutorHunt needs to do a better job of protecting their customers from bad tutors. They should have a system in place to ensure that the tutors they list on their site are qualified and knowledgeable. It's not fair for customers to pay for a tutor who doesn't know what they're doing.
Overall, I would caution anyone considering using TutorHunt to be careful. Make sure you do your research and read reviews before choosing a tutor. And if you do have a bad experience, don't expect much help from their customer service.
Mixed Results with TutorHunt: A Review of Their Tutoring Services
I've given TutorHunt a go and tried out a few of their tutors. Gotta say, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, when I told them that the tutors they'd set me up with weren't able to teach the new WJEC GCSE exams, they were pretty quick to give me some new contact details. So that's a plus.
But on the other hand, it's been a bit frustrating to have tutors show up without having done their homework on the exam board my kids are studying with. I mean, we're paying good money for this, so it's a bit of a no-no when they can't even teach the subjects we've paid for.
It's a real waste of everyone's time and money, and it's not like we can afford to just throw it away like that. So while TutorHunt has its good points, it's definitely got some room for improvement.
Mixed Experience with TutorHunt: Good in the Past, But Not Worth It Anymore
Been using TutorHunt for a few years now and it's been pretty good. Got some clients in the past and they gave me good reviews. But lately, I haven't been getting any bookings at all. It's been a year and I'm starting to think that maybe it's not worth it anymore. The membership fee is too high and they take a cut from every lesson, which makes it expensive for both me and my students. I'm thinking of trying out other sites instead. Maybe they'll be better. I don't know. But I'm pretty much done with this one.

TutorHunt Review: Don't Waste Your Money on Ghost Tutors
I gotta say, TutorHunt ain't all it's cracked up to be. They'll take your hard-earned cash and give you the deets of supposed 'tutors' who are supposed to help you or your kiddo out with some learnin'. But lemme tell ya, these so-called tutors are more like ghosts - they'll show up for the first session and take your 30 quid, but after that, they're gone with the wind. And don't even bother trying to get in touch with TutorHunt about it - they'll just ignore ya like you're yesterday's news.
Honestly, I'd be careful if you're thinking about using this site. Maybe even steer clear altogether. Ain't nobody got time for that kind of nonsense.
TutorHunt Review: All About the Money, Not the Students
I'm a teacher and I gotta say, TutorHunt is all about the money. They won't let me start tutoring until the students buy my info, but most of them never do. And who can blame them? The fee is way too high just to arrange some tutoring. Plus, I keep getting spammed with students from Essex when I'm in Kent. It's a real bummer, so I'd recommend avoiding this site.
TutorHunt Review: A Waste of Time and Money - Find a Tutor the Old-Fashioned Way
I gotta say, TutorHunt ain't all it's cracked up to be. You fork over your hard-earned cash, and what do you get? A tutor who might show up once, or worse, can't even teach the subject you need help with. And if that happens, you're out of luck and out of money, thanks to their ?25 introduction fee. I mean, seriously, what are you even paying for?
But that's not even the worst part. When you try to reach out to them for help, they ignore you like you're yesterday's news. Sure, they'll send you some automated emails, but good luck getting a real person to talk to you. It's like they don't even exist. I'm starting to think this whole thing is just an online scam.
My advice? Skip TutorHunt altogether and find a tutor the old-fashioned way. Ask around, check out local resources, and don't fall for their slick marketing tactics. Trust me, you'll save yourself a lot of time, money, and frustration. Consider yourself warned.
Transparency Issues with Tutor Hunt: My Disappointing Experience
Tutor Hunt is a website that offers tutoring services to students who need extra help with their studies. I recently had an experience with Tutor Hunt that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I believe that Tutor Hunt needs to make some changes to their website in order to make their procedures more transparent for both tutors and students.
Firstly, I think that Tutor Hunt should clearly state that they add a commission on each and every lesson. In my case, the commission was 25%, which I found to be quite high. I think that tutors should be aware of this commission before they sign up to offer their services on the website.
Secondly, I was surprised to find out that Tutor Hunt does not allow initial meetings to take place free-of-charge. I think that this is something that should be made clear on the website. Students should know that they will be charged for the first meeting with a tutor, even if they decide not to continue with the lessons.
Lastly, I was disappointed to find out that Tutor Hunt expects a series of lessons to be booked in advance before the student and tutor have even met. I think that this is something that should be optional, as some students may only need one or two lessons to get the help they need.
Overall, my experience with Tutor Hunt was not a positive one. I have requested that my account be deleted, as I do not feel comfortable using their services. I hope that Tutor Hunt will take my feedback into consideration and make some changes to their website in order to make their procedures more transparent for both tutors and students.
Disappointing Experience with TutorHunt: Paid for a Tutor Who Knew Nothing About the Subject
I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with TutorHunt. I mean, I'm sure there are some good tutors on there, but my daughter's experience was a real letdown. We paid ?23 for a tutor who turned out to have no idea about the subject we needed help with. And get this - they didn't even tell us beforehand! We only found out after we'd already paid up.
To make matters worse, the tutor called us up and said some really weird stuff. And then, to top it all off, they sent us a really nasty email. I reckon they were just trying to cover up the fact that they didn't know what they were doing.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend TutorHunt to anyone. But hey, maybe we just got unlucky. Who knows?
Mixed Experience with TutorHunt: Frustrations with Fees and Verification Process
I've been using TutorHunt for a while now and I have to say, it's been a mixed experience. I started off as a tutor on the platform back in 2012 and it was great. It was easy to get students and the fees were reasonable. However, things have changed a lot since then.
Nowadays, TutorHunt takes a percentage of every hour taught, which can really add up. It's frustrating because it feels like they're taking money out of my pocket for no reason. But that's not even the worst part.
Recently, I've been having trouble getting my profile verified on the platform. I have a DBS on the government's Update Service, which means it's enhanced and automatically updated every year. But TutorHunt doesn't accept it! It's ridiculous. I work in colleges and I have a valid DBS, but they won't verify my profile because of their own policies.
It's become a total joke. I'm disappointed because I used to love using TutorHunt, but now it feels like they're just trying to make things difficult for me. I hope they can sort out these issues soon because I know a lot of other tutors who are having similar problems.
Tutor Hunt's Unfair Commission Policy and Lack of Support for Long-Time Tutors
I've been tutoring for Tutor Hunt for a good 5 years now and I must say, I've had a pretty good run with them. I've gained a lot of leads and have been able to help many students improve their grades. However, towards the end of last year, I received a notification that there were going to be some changes to the terms and conditions. I was informed that I would now be charged a whopping 25% commission for every student that I gained.
Now, I don't know about you, but that seems pretty unfair to me. Especially since this commission service is only applicable to new tutors who signed up in 2019 onwards. I mean, what about us old-timers who have been with Tutor Hunt for years? It's like they don't even care about our loyalty and dedication to the platform.
To make matters worse, when I tried to reach out to their support team for some clarification, I was met with silence. They didn't bother replying to my emails and when I tried to call them, I was put on hold for what seemed like an eternity. It's like they don't even care about their tutors or the students who rely on them for help.
Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with the way Tutor Hunt has been treating me and I'm seriously considering looking for other platforms to work with. It's just not worth it to pay such a high fee and get no leads in return. So, if you're thinking about signing up with Tutor Hunt, I would advise you to think twice. Their treatment of their tutors is simply appalling and it's not worth the hassle.
