This complaint comes as a first-time visitor to the Hillside Apartments, on Leland Ave. in Pittsburg, CA. November 21, 2023. When I arrived, I called the person i was there to pick--up and was directed to pull in front of there unit, which made sense as the apartment number and stall matched, though that wasn't there actual assigned space which was about 100 yards away. Shortly after I'd arrived there was a knock at the door, and when answered it was the property manager asking gruffly if someone there owned the car out front. I stepped forward and acknowledged it was mine, and she shouted that I needed to move it now! I replied she's getting her purse and coat and we will be gone in just a couple minutes. She then stepped forward in a threatening manner and said no! You need to go now! I then asked her to please get out of my face, to which she replied, "What are you going to do about it". She was accompanied by what I guess was a security guard, who when I looked at him said "I'll put you down right here". We went out the door to the car and there with others now waiting in the parking lot. I needed to get a Pet Stoller out of the car before we left and was again approached and told I needed to get off the property immediately. I retrieved the stroller but was continually under a verbal assault from the property manager. There are other things I've learned about this complex that would seem to be of a scamming nature and anything but on the up and up. I could elaborate but an open forum is the not place for that. I originally called to file this complaint and provide additional detail but was redirected to a complaint line that is no longer monitored. How fitting! Upon leaving the complex I went immediately to the Pittsburg Police Station to file a report, out of concern for further reprisals to the tenant and concern for what might transpire once I brought them back home. Will also be reaching out to better business bureau.
Desired outcome: Find a new property manager or provide them some interpersonal skills training. Physically threatening verbal assault is unacceptable in any setting.
