I went to the Riverton branch of University Federal Credit Union and spoke with the branch manager, ***. I asked for an overdraft on my debit credit card, but unfortunately, she denied my request. I was hoping to have a credit limit of $10,000 on my card right away. I feel like this is a case of discrimination because she approved a loan for a male customer on the same day but denied mine.

UFirst Credit Union I just had a problem with my financial institution, UFirst Credit Union

I just had a problem with my financial institution, UFirst Credit Union. I complained to them about a check that was cashed over a year ago. At first, they told me that they couldn't cash a check after 6 months. But that was a lie! When I told them it was fraud, they didn't want to investigate or process my fraud claim. It's not fair! I also want my refund of *** as soon as possible. This is fraud, and it's not the first time they mishandled my money.

UFirst Credit Union I want to bring to your attention that I have filed a complaint with the NCUA and ComplaintsBoard.com regarding my experience with UFirst Credit Union

I want to bring to your attention that I have filed a complaint with the NCUA and ComplaintsBoard.com regarding my experience with UFirst Credit Union. The General Manager of their debt collections department, Dennis, spoke to me on the phone and was very confrontational and disrespectful. He insisted that he didn't have to take any action, even though he admitted that they had violated our payment agreement. While I understand that this may not seem like a big deal to some, it is important to note that the funds in question are my son's Child Tax Credit, which is meant to provide for his basic needs, such as groceries. The way this situation was handled, with threats and aggression from Dennis, is completely unacceptable. It is frustrating that there seems to be a lack of organization and proper note-taking in the consumer accounts, resulting in representatives not having access to information or records from previous conversations. I urgently request that the money be refunded promptly so that my son can have access to food as soon as possible.

UFirst Credit Union I purposely sent money to *** Utah on April 20, 2023

I purposely sent money to *** Utah on April 20, 2023. The wire got sent on April 21, 2023. A person from UFirst Credit Union called to make sure of it. On April 27, 2023, $650 got taken out of my account without permission. I called the credit union right away and talked to Scott P. He sent me a form to Dispute an Unauthorized Withdrawal, which I filled out and sent back. On May 2, 2023, I called to ask about my missing money. The next guy, Pedro P, emailed me and said that since *** got added to BillPay, there was nothing they could do. Just to be clear: I never added *** Utah to BillPay. Ever. On May 3, 2023, I chatted with a person named Will through text, who (a) didn't have any record of my previous conversations (even though I do) (b) suggested that my account got hacked (c) suggested contacting the police, and (d) said there was nothing they could do.

UFirst Credit Union I was told I could delay my loan payment, but then my truck got taken away

I was told I could delay my loan payment, but then my truck got taken away. When I got my truck back, I noticed that over $4300 worth of power and hand tools were missing. I contacted the towing company, and they said they brought the truck straight to the bank's lot. The towing company took pictures of everything in the truck when they dropped it off at the bank, just to protect themselves in case anything went missing. I called multiple times to retrieve my belongings from the truck, but they kept telling me that the towing company had it. So, I called the towing company again, and they said the bank had it. This back-and-forth went on for weeks until the bank transferred me to Miguel, the person in charge of repossessions. Miguel informed me that the truck and everything inside now belonged to the bank. I reached out to someone in collections, and they assured me that everything would still be in the truck when I got it back. However, when I finally received the truck, I noticed that some things were missing. I immediately took pictures and informed Miguel that my tools were gone.

UFirst Credit Union I deposited a check for $120.00 into my UFCU account from my USAA personal bank account on 4/26

I deposited a check for $120.00 into my UFCU account from my USAA personal bank account on 4/26. However, the check was put on hold until today, 5/05, and now my account shows a negative balance for the same amount of the check, plus a $30.00 fee for insufficient funds. When I called UFCU, they kept transferring me to the same automated system or recording, which made it really hard to get help. After calling for the fifth time, I finally asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that USAA didn't approve the check because of insufficient funds, but that's not true. I contacted USAA right away, and they told me that they didn't receive any check from another bank or try to cash it. They also confirmed that there are no insufficient funds, as I made a $120.00 deposit on 4/23. UFCU is lying about incorrect transactions or transactions that never happened, because according to USAA, they never intended to deposit this check.

So, apparently University First Credit Union (UFirst) made some changes to their online banking site and app around November 15th, 2022. These changes made me have to register my accounts again, which I did. I have 2 accounts, one for my business and one for personal use. But after registering again and logging in, I found out that both userids now lead to the same account, which is my business account. I can't log in to my personal account anymore, and it's been three days since I've had online access to it. I called their support line twice. The first time, they told me to wait a bit longer and check back later in the day. I gave them the whole day and tried again the next morning. Still no change, and I still can't access my account. I called them again. The representative, who was not as polite this time, told me the same thing - they're working on it and it's their top priority. They just need more time. But after three days with no solution, it's really frustrating. I can't even see my account, let alone manage it. So annoying!

UFirst Credit Union I wanna complain 'bout dis to your CEO, *** and Supervisor to Customer Support

I wanna complain 'bout dis to your CEO, *** and Supervisor to Customer Support. I wanna ask for a credit of my 2 $25.00 overdraft fees on March 21, 2022. I put in a check on March 18th and even though I had money, they still charged me overdraft fees. It don't make no sense. I talked to the credit union and this supervisor told me it was 'cause of a returned check. I called the bank that wrote the check and they said it wasn't returned. Right after talkin' to the supervisor, she sent a letter from UFrist Credit Union sayin' they takin' away my Overdraft Privilege 'cause of excessive fees or charges. I think she did it on purpose to mess with my account. Lookin' back at the conversation, I think she got prejudiced when she found out the $2,000.00 check was from my tribe (Navajo Nation) and that's why she didn't wanna give me a credit for my 2 overdraft fees. When the fees were added to my account, I had over $1,700.00 in there. That's why I want a solution. I'd really appreciate your help.

UFirst Credit Union To the President of University Federal Credit Union, I want to bring to your attention the issues I have been facing with my account at your

To the President of University Federal Credit Union,

I want to bring to your attention the issues I have been facing with my account at your bank. On November 2nd, my automatic deposit was received as usual. However, I have been locked out of my accounts and my bill payments are being returned. I have tried to understand what is happening by calling the bank, but the person I spoke to was not very helpful. I even asked if I could have someone write a letter on my behalf, but as soon as I mentioned an attorney, she refused to speak to me and abruptly ended the call. I was really surprised by this behavior.

I am a 70-year-old disabled individual, and my health is not in the best condition. Despite my circumstances, I should not be treated in such a disrespectful manner. It is truly disgraceful. These past few months have been particularly difficult for me as I have been dealing with an illness. On top of that, I lost my pension after working for Trans World Airlines for 38 years. Now, I only receive a small retirement amount. However, this should not be a reason to discriminate against me, reject my bill payments, and lock me out of my account. Unfortunately, I am unable to visit the bank for an extended period of time due to my reliance on oxygen tanks, which have limited capacity.

The worst part of this whole experience is being hung up on. I demand a complete and clear accounting of my statements in a printed format that I can easily understand.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

UFirst Credit Union In November , I applied for a second mortgage with UFirst Credit Union to consolidate some debts using my home's equity

In November , I applied for a second mortgage with UFirst Credit Union to consolidate some debts using my home's equity. I had recently refinanced my first mortgage with another local lender. Surprisingly, the credit union denied my application for reasons that are embarrassingly dumb for a financial institution affiliated with the University of ***. They claimed that my federal student loans, which were on deferral due to the pandemic until May 1, 2022, made me ineligible for a mortgage. It's like they didn't understand how federal student loan repayment works! They assumed I would be paying around $2,700 per month, when in reality, it's only about $110 per month.

Even though I had just refinanced my first mortgage, the credit union insisted that I couldn't qualify for any mortgage at all. I wanted to keep things local, but their irrational denial forced me to get the loan from an out-of-state credit union. They're the ones missing out on the interest I would have paid them.

As a proud graduate of the University of ***, I'm deeply disappointed that a financial institution with branches on campus doesn't understand how federal student loan repayment programs work. They're falsely telling students and alumni that they don't qualify for mortgages. If UFirst Credit Union doesn't fix their ignorance, I'll urge the University of *** to sever ties with them and kick them off campus.

UFirst Credit Union To whom it may concern, My name is *** and I am writing this complaint to inform you on how the University Federal Credit Union is

To whom it may concern, My name is *** and I am writing this complaint to inform you on how the University Federal Credit Union is running their collection department and has/is treating me unfairly. I had a Visa Credit Card with them and unfortunately went past due and was unable to pay off my card and it went into a “Charge Off” status with them. I first became delinquent in October , so six years ago and the total outstanding balance as of today is $2,003.78. In 2019 I wanted to take care of the balance and I worked with Christian L who is in the Collections department and we agree to the amount of $1,250. Unfortunately, family issues came up and I wasn’t able to settle the account. I am married with six boys and there was a medical emergency cost I had to take care of. I reached back out to the University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) in June to see if they would settle the account for the $1,250 and they informed me that there was a new Collections Manager and he would not accept the offer. I was working with Jelina S. who is a Collector and she informed me that she had no idea why the UFCU was still holding my account, and didn’t know why it wasn’t sold to a collection agency and that it appears that my account was “lost”. Then, to my astonishment, the UFCU sent my account to Knight ADJ Bureau collection agency after holding my account internally with them for six years. They waited until we were in the middle of a global pandemic to send to Knight ADJ Bureau. No one from the UFCU can explain why my account was held for 6 years before sending to a collection agency and have stated that is not their current policy. My account was handled differently. I am very concerned and demand additional investigation on UFCU collection strategies, I think I have been treated unfairly and would like answers to the below questions: 1) Typically, “Charge offs” can be reported to the Credit Bureaus for up to 7 years and I feel like the UFCU singled me out, targeted me to wait six years to involve a debt collector so they can reset the timeline and have the collection agency report for another 7 years to try to hurt me and my credit for not paying. Jelina S. even stated on the phone call with me that according to policy my account should have been addressed and sent to collections years ago but never was. She also demanded payment and stated that if payments weren’t received, they would send it to a collection agency and reset the 7 year timeline. So here are my questions: a. Why did the University Federal Credit Union wait for 6 years to finally send my account to another collections department? Why was I singled out and treated differently from other customers? b. I received a credit alert from the Credit Bureaus from Knight ADJ Bureau which is going to bring down my credit score even further and possibly “reset” the timeline for having a charge off on my credit report. I feel like I was treated unfairly because UFCU was upset I was unable to pay off the balance, so they held my account for as long as possible, then involved a collection agency six years later to reset the timeline to try to hurt me and my credit as much as possible. Why? 2) Knight ADJ Bureau informed me they aren’t a debt collector, that they were simply hired by UFCU to collect the debt. This raises additional concerns: a. I received a credit monitoring alert from Knight ADJ Bureau, a “new account” alert which affected my credit score. If Knight ADJ Bureau is only hired by UFCU to collect on their behalf, how can they and University Credit Union report the charged off account negatively to the Credit Bureaus? How can they create a “new account” on my credit without my consent? b. Knight ADJ Bureau informed me that UFCU added a $601 “collection fee” to my balance when they sent it over to Knight ADJ Bureau. That is 30% of my outstanding balance, is that even legal? I feel like UFCU is taking advantage of me. c. Knight ADJ Bureau sent me a letter dated 9/9 and stated in the letter that stated I had 30 days to take care of the debt or they would start reporting a negative credit report to the Bureaus. Knight ADJ Bureau actually started reporting on [protected] days before the letter was sent). This is a FCRA violation. I called and inquired why they didn’t give me the 30 days and stated they would remove the inquiry, but that hasn’t been done yet. I am being treated unfairly and different from other UFCU customers and I am asking for help. I plan on sending this to the ComplaintsBoard.com, FCRA, NCUA, and UFCU executives to try to get help and to hopefully spark an investigation on UFCU’s unfair treatment towards me. UFCU has singled me out and is trying to hurt me and my credit as much as possible and I am asking for justice and for outside help because they are unwilling to work with me. They singled me out and went against their policies and are unwilling to make it right. Who is holding UFCU responsible to follow their policies and procedures? When there is a violation, why aren’t they willing to make it right? I am willing to try to settle the account but now the UFCU has just increased the outstanding debt by 30% during a Global Pandemic so they are trying to make it impossible and all evidence leads to UFCU trying to reset the reporting timelines for the charge off and try to hurt me as much as possible for becoming delinquent. Please investigate and let me know if you have any additional questions that I can answer. Thanks
